421  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 24, 2018, 09:46:24 AM
I think if someone tends to selling btc now is the same as buying between 18,000 - 20,000$.

RSI is now near the oversold levels and showing some indication of reversal, so what do you waiting for..just grab some btc now and thank me later Wink

So, these guys who are posting social media reports on Bitcointalk are influencers? Good, I didn't knew, I thought they are just spammers or bots with fake followers :/
Nowadays influencer buildup their credibility in specific areas by bots and all, no real organic audience. So with the technological advancement anyone can gain fake followers with few bucks and joining for the bounties and filled up whole pages with their annoying reports. I think if bounty campaigns tight their rules regarding no of followers and percentage of real followers, the spam problem can be somewhat minimized.

I hate to see that soooo many people coming to Bitcointalk only for bounties, many of these people aeen't even interested in crypto.
Yeah I also think bounty managers should limit the participants per project and should increase the rank required for bounty participation which is very hard task for shitposters in these days with the merit system.

425  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Earn merit by telling us about the dangers in using 3rd party wallets. on: June 23, 2018, 03:00:58 PM
I think if we choose a 3rd party wallet for storing cryptocurrency means we are giving away security liability for a 3rd party. Also centralized wallets are more desirable to hacking and can be theft whole funds by wallet provider itself. The best solution I believed is the enabling some system which requires multi - signature and two factor authorization for wallet transactions.

Btw "mitigation is better than adaptation" so I would rather go for cold storage wallets rather giving sole authority of my funds to any 3rd party wallet provider.

I will say from my experience, I watched a lot of videos on YouTube channels before I had to go into bounty companies. I want to note that for a beginner you need to start with the security of wallets.

Security should be the very fundamentals that you learn before anything, and not exclusively for bounty campaigns. In fact if a bounty requires you to download anything I would advise that you download it in a separate virtual machine at the very least.
I also believed if you are not having the knowledge of wallets types, wallets security then better off from everything relating crypto field, not only bounties. Just go and learn basics before jump in to the crypto field.

Another thing I also believed if you're willing to participate bounty campaigns better to create a special e-mail for bounties and also never share your PRIVATE KEY with anyone.
430  Other / Meta / Re: Reduce spam and scam by accepting only Bitcoin for signature campaign. on: June 22, 2018, 07:30:13 PM
btw IMO is if forum staff can collect "fee per spam post" from bounty managers will ultimately reduce the shitposters and most importantly bounty managers take their job seriously when doing a ICO bounty campaign.
How would this be done? By the number of reported posts a candidate has?
Yes. That would be a great way to starting a new way of looking this spam problem. I think we don't need every spam post per fee at the first phase of introduction, but can introduce a threshold spam post count where we could put a fixed fee which gradually increased with the number of spam posts.

It doesn't seem scalable. It's a possible temporary solution but will also require a lot of effort on the part of mods.

I think this tread that I have made recently will help you to get a knowledge about "stakes" , how stakes are calculated and even about "bounties" too.

Actually there is a nice ongoing conversation regarding this hot potato which started by "d5000" and even he suggested the solution(s) including suggestion of OP.

Solutions?

- One could restrict campaigns, e.g. only allow campaigns that pay out in Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency that has an independent blockchain and is not an ICO token.

So I think it is better if you can give your thoughts at there rather starting new thread.

433  Other / Beginners & Help / Bounty campaigns in a nutshell... on: June 22, 2018, 03:30:15 PM
I have found a good educational video[1] regarding "bounties" and I think it is better to share the content of that vedio for the people who are willing to join the bounty campaigns but not having basic knowledge about this process.

What are bounties?

Block chain companies, project teams encourage crypto community members to help with various simple tasks in order to reward with tokens. This process we called as "bounties"

Standard process

  • Browse Bitcointalk forum for available bounties
  • Pick a good project that you liked(DYOR before selection)
  • Choose and execute bounty tasks
  • Record your activity
  • Check results on spreadsheet
  • Join social media channels( mostly telegram) for announcements
  • Receive tokens

Types of campaigns

  • Bitcointalk signature  - Need to be certain member level
  • Blog post or video      - Quality and number of views, subscribers
  • Translation                 - Website, ANN thread, White paper
  • Social media               - If you're an influencer
  • Bug bounty                 - Coding expertise

How many tokens do you receive?

Certain percentage of total bounty allocated for different types of campaigns

  • Flat amount - Set amount awarded for each listed tasks
                        - Campaign stops when rewards are all allocated
  • Stakes         - # stakes depends on quality and type

Code:
Reward = (# stakes / total stakes of participants)* total token allocated for category

"Stakes" example

  • Video campaign allocate 10,000 tokens ( 10% of total bounty tokens)
  • You make a great video and get 100 stakes
  • Other people make videos too (varying quality) and they sum up to 7,000 stakes

Code:
Your total rewards = (100/7100)*10,000 = 140.85 tokens

Words of caution

  • Stay on top of bounty campaign progress
  • Check the followings:-
    • Recorded info is correct
    • All steps were followed
  • Sometimes teams mess it up and some people don't receive tokens (That's really unfortunate part of this whole process)

Why ICOs love bounties?

  • Doesn't require hefty marketing budget before token sale
  • Allowing percentage of tokens for bounty (technically they have lot to utilize since they are the creators of token)
  • Community helps them with marketing campaigns
  • High-impact, builds organic support
  • Incentivizes members to be invested in project's success

I guess you don't have a sense of humor. No , I'm not being racist I'm just stating a fact, these 3rd worlders are turning this forum into a hellhole because they are only here for the money.
Do you have statistics? data? numbers? if not then fuck off.
I'm totally agree with mdayonliner and further I want to know, do you have any statistics regarding that your accusations for 3 rd worlders or you just beat around the bush for getting to be noticed from the forum members.
In what basis are you going to devide the world as 3rd 1st 2nd etc? Is it basis on money ?
The person who shitposting in forum is always a shitposter wether he came from 3rd world or 1st world. Always try to give some facts if you're going to highlight a point. Just remember "All crows are black but all the black ones are not crows".
435  Other / Meta / Re: How long I can have sMerits? on: June 20, 2018, 05:07:41 PM
But unfortunately, I don't have any sMerit to send.
That means you have already sent your 5 sMerits before 120 days ago or you haven't sent any sMerit within last 120 days ( I can't say exact catagory which you belonged since system only shows the merit history of last 120 days only)

Quote
I have received 11 merits so far and I didn't get to send any merits.
LOL. You still couldn't find any productive posts? Actually where have you been in all the time since merit system implementation? Tongue

Quote
That is why I'm interested to know how long I can have spendable merits?
It's not decaying as already clearly explained by TheUltraElite.
btw if you're not sending any sMerits to productive posts, I had to believed that you have no idea about why the merit system was implemented and it's utmost goal.
436  Other / Meta / Re: The core of Bitcointalk's spam problem on: June 20, 2018, 11:46:13 AM

Solutions?

- One could restrict campaigns, e.g. only allow campaigns that pay out in Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency that has an independent blockchain and is not an ICO token.
- Stricter control of Bounty managers.

Both solutions would require additional efforts by the forum staff.
I think if forum staff can charge some "fee per spam posts" ( not by ICO tokens) in the campaign from the bounty managers, can ultimately Leeds to more involvement for control the quality of posts rather introducing incentive for bounty managers to control the quality of posts.( They didn't take it seriously due to the fact that knowing they can earn more than what incentive offers)

438  Other / Meta / Re: Is there any automated system for sending sMerits? on: June 18, 2018, 07:50:22 PM
If I am a merit-source myself I would spend some time on screening all the post in multiple tabs in each thread in order for me to save some time in order to move on the next thread.
I totally agreed and seems like some merit sources knows how to manage time so effectively than others. Tongue
439  Other / Meta / Re: Is there any automated system for sending sMerits? on: June 18, 2018, 07:36:00 PM
The funny thing I didn't understand is how can a  member send 2 sMerits for different posts within period of 6 seconds.
I've done that within 0 seconds: I open the Merit-button in a new Tab, and when I'm done reading, I merit all open Merit-tabs.

Thanks LoyceV for your fast response and clearing my misunderstanding. I think I owe an apology for qwk.

Edited
There is also this userscript that allows someone to send merits quickly. I seem to have done so using the script in a similar fashion as qwk:

I think my dought is now 100% cleared.(Don't know qwk's fashion is similer to LoycV or DarkStar_). Gotcha There is a userscript too.
440  Other / Meta / Is there any automated system for sending sMerits? on: June 18, 2018, 06:48:07 PM
I have a dought, is there any automated programmes were used by senior members to send their sMerits?. Because I recently seen that one of the legendary member has been sent 19 sMerits (just one per one post only) within 13 minutes when I checking stats of recent merits. The funny thing I didn't understand is how can a  member send 2 sMerits for different posts within period of 6 seconds.

If this member maintained a list of quality posts for future reference for meriting, it's very interesting and helpful for the betterment of the forum. But if not how any member even read 2 posts within 6 seconds and gave 2 sMerits within that period. Is that member superhuman?

Link for post 2>>>https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1564860.msg35983776#msg35983776

P.S. - I'm only pointing the fact about time gap of two posts which were merited and not the content of those posts.
