421  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM: Bitcoin SV (BSV) - fake team member and plagiarized white paper on: February 23, 2024, 01:39:40 AM
You're right. It's probably closer to 50/50 at this point in the trial.  I was mostly just poking the hornets nest and am surprised by the mostly muted response.  I think some of you have maybe lost some of the wind in your sails.

The real battle ended years ago: virtually nobody takes BSV seriously anymore, and even fewer people still actually believe Craig is Satoshi.

Even I think BSV @ $35 is a fair price.

I'm mostly just trying to be optimistic because the world needs a coin that scales and everyone knows BTC doesn't.

Independent of the fact that its such a hacky, elementary school solution to say that "increasing the block size = scaling", an important piece of info you seem to be overlooking: nobody wants to use a coin run by a con artist.

'just separate them'
ha
they were never joined to anything else,

inscriptions dont even note which output the junk belongs to.. they were already useless and it seems you are now wising up to the idea that the only thing of value was sats being sats

franknbeans

try to learn. try to read.

i told you at least 30 times I never bought a single ordinal.

still some of the early number inscriptions will always have market value, regardless of your opinion.

heck it will likely be at least the 1st 100k ordinals w/ associated inscriptions that retain some kind of value going into the future.

also the tweet author is talking about separating value-less outputs from those that still have market value, which exist, again regardless of your opinion.

putting you back on ignore so i don't accidentally waste more time due to your trolling.
423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mempool Observer Topic on: February 22, 2024, 06:39:02 AM
The other threads about ordinals & BRC-20 are kind of dead, so I'll post this here.

Finally, someone on Twitter has figured out a use case for these things:

If you have old worthless brc20 inscriptions, or ordinal rugged projects inscriptions keep them they have sats in them and have value, by the end of the bullrun you can just separate them and send them to your payment wallet then just spend them like regular btc.

You can still use them as regular 'ol BTC, lol. Its genius.
424  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet | Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook | The No.1 Bitcoin Gambling Site on: February 22, 2024, 03:03:05 AM
3 months since no one posting in this thread. I'm posting here today because something strange happen to me, that I received an email from cloudbet support this
Quote
An account is already registered to this address: (email address)
I don't know why I received an email like this since I'm not  doing anything with cloudbet account and never visited it again. As i remember the last time I played in this website was 3 years ago and haven't received any email promotions since I unsubscribe to the email newsletter promotions. Does anyone of you who played in this casino experience the same thing?

Even though reporting it may be against my better judgment, I'll tell you that I also received the same email. Before I was getting emails that someone was trying to log into my account (despite not having used it for 4-5 years). Then I emailed them to request account deletion -- now I'm getting this email, lol.

There was probably some kind of data breach that exposed a list of emails belonging to Cloudbet users.
425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Updates from the COPA v Craig Wright trial on: February 22, 2024, 02:30:23 AM
Seemed like a rough day for bitcointalk in this trial.

Well, that seems to be the problem -- conflating "Bitcointalk" with the "Bitcoin Forum." Camp Craig is using this difference in terminology to gaslight people into thinking satoshi's posts here aren't his own (its quite easy to prove none of them were altered or deleted using the Wayback Machine).

Meanwhile, its worth pointing out that the forum has always been named the Bitcoin Forum. Its easy enough to verify for yourself by comparing the words in the forum name field (where it says 'Bitcoin Forum' in the top left of any forum page) as shown in 2009 to what they are today:

https://web.archive.org/web/20091215005450/http://bitcointalk.org/

Our own CryptoDevil tweeted a transcript of what Martti Malmi (Sirius) had to say in his video deposition, kind of interesting stuff:

Wow, what happened? Did somebody turn off Ordinals or something? Haven't seen fees this low in months.

Last time inscription activity was this low was in October. Maybe the whole thing has finally run its course?

Sorry if I just jinxed it.
428  Economy / Exchanges / Re: eXch - instant exchange BTC / LN / XMR / LTC / ETH / ERC20 on: February 20, 2024, 09:39:35 AM
Thank you for the transparency regarding this communication. I saw that you omitted the name of the person that got in contact with you but you left his name on the e-mail. Perhaps it would be better to hide it as well.

This is really not good. With a little research, you get to the guy.

Yeah except he is an IRS agent, not a customer. He could post the whole email if he wanted to as its not really any sort of breach of customer confidentiality. He did the agent a favor by not leaving the email address in there.
429  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fixedfloat is scamming me for 8000+ EUR IMPORTANT PSA! on: February 20, 2024, 08:50:33 AM
It could be they hired some kind of hacker or group to take them down.
It could be. But if you have the skills to steal 26 million, you probably don't need someone to hire you (for much less money) to do this.

True but they could have pointed the hackers in FixedFloat's direction. This was an article that kind of explains what I was talking about -- the issue with FixedFloat isn't new & has been going on for at least a couple of years.

Investigating the Selective Scamming Behavior of Non-KYC Exchange FixedFloat

In recent developments, serious allegations have surfaced against the well-known non-KYC exchange, FixedFloat, suggesting selective scamming practices targeting users. These claims have been brought to light by a market admin who revealed that the exchange retains significant transactions under the guise of "anti-money laundering" measures. Unlike its competitors, who return funds to the sender in the event of an unexecuted exchange order, FixedFloat reportedly keeps the funds for itself.

Users on Dread, the largest English forum on the dark net, have also voiced similar concerns, accusing the exchange of engaging in selective scamming activities specifically related to large exchange orders.

Warning: Got fucked by fixedfloat.com

Converted large amounts over fixedfloat over the years, never had an issue. Approximately one hour ago, coins were sent to their exchange for hot wallet rebalancing. XMR didn't come out the other end, and turned out to be confiscated.

Their support replied with: "We received word from our exchange partner that your crypto were obtained through illegal proceedings. Please provide proof of funds."

Careful everyone!

Quote
Can confirm.

Happened to me 3 weeks ago, lost around $9k.

Ironically, did a transaction that was around the same amount about 2 hours before, they processed it no problem.

They have turned into selective scammers.

They have no "exchange partner", and they will continuously say their intention is to "return funds to the victim", when there is no fucking victim except you the user getting scammed by them. They know exactly what they are doing.

Quote
Happened to me about 3-4 weeks ago for $9k. They know exactly what they are doing. Processed a near identical transaction mere hours before that went through no problem, then the next one gets pulled for 'KYC time'.

Selective scammers. They probably have eyes on a couple of the market wallets, if they see any connection with coins coming from there they pull your card and you're SOL. That's my suspicion anyway.

In order to investigate these allegations, our team conducted tests which resulted in our funds being unexpectedly "suspended." It is worth noting that DarknetLive relies on user donations and does not engage in any illegal activities to generate revenue.

These allegations paint a disconcerting picture of selectively enforced rules within the industry. It appears that when presented with a substantial opportunity, the operators of FixedFloat are willing to disregard their own policies and resort to unjust practices. While the exchange may claim to prioritize handling funds of questionable origin by refraining from exchanging them, they seem to have no qualms about appropriating these funds for their own benefit.

The foundation of FixedFloat's business model seemingly revolves around offering extremely low fees, but this is overshadowed by their alleged large-scale confiscation of funds, knowing that proving their misdeeds will be nearly impossible for their customers. In light of these allegations, caution is advised when considering any exchange requiring KYC verification. It is disheartening to witness a scam masquerading behind seemingly legitimate policies, ultimately profiting illegally at the expense of unsuspecting customers.

Had this incident been a genuine violation of their Terms of Service, FixedFloat should have refunded the money, deducting applicable transaction fees, and provided an explanation regarding the suspicious nature of the swap, leading to its cancellation.

It would be interesting to see if this windfall profit from their alleged illicit activities will be reported (or not) on their 2023 tax form.
430  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Appeal Thread on: February 20, 2024, 08:35:03 AM
Well you get kudos from me for handling the situation with grace & accepting it for what it is.

A much better look than trying to tell forum members & mods that they are wrong.
431  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fixedfloat is scamming me for 8000+ EUR IMPORTANT PSA! on: February 20, 2024, 08:11:53 AM
I wonder if this could be revenge of someone who got their money seized on Fixedfloat, or something bigger is behind this attack...
Unlikely. That's like robbing a bank when your debit card gets blocked.
Having that much in their hot wallet must be very encouraging for other hackers to try the same though. One way to make it not worth their while would be by keeping significantly less money in hot wallets.

From what I read, a few darknet market admins also lost money unexpectedly with FixedFloat (this was last year and before then as well). It could be they hired some kind of hacker or group to take them down. Either way, its definitely a sort of karma. I don't know how they'll stay in operation after this, or why. Clearly a terrible business model.
432  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: February 19, 2024, 04:10:05 AM

I still cannot understand what has made you so narrow-minded and hateful over the years to the point where all you do is babble about exceptionally low-IQ racist conspiracy theories. If you have Bitcoin wealth as you claim, you could be doing any number of things in a country that is paradise to people who can afford to not have to work there. Its a stunningly beautiful place, filled with friendly people, cheap liquor, and opportunity for adventure. Great times await. But no, you sit there hunkered down at your computer and concoct twisted genocide fanfiction, just hoping to get a reaction like this one I guess. What made you that way? I'm truly curious.

Also, I think its worth pointing out that you did not pay $100 billion in taxes, LOL.

Your mission Mr. Nutildah if you choose to accept it is to pretend to be Dick Vermeil and watch all of the games and find the next greatest undrafted player for the NFL. A player very much similar to Kurt Warner.

Watch all the college games?? No thanks I'll pass.
434  Economy / Reputation / Re: Which campaign has the most spammers? on: February 18, 2024, 11:31:09 AM
Despite OP's trollish intentions, I feel like this turned out to be a pretty good thread. It brought to light an important question of what constitutes "spam." We are still miles away from resolving the question, but this is a healthy discussion to have.

We all know that quality of post in this forum is largely measured by the length of post.
Speak for yourself.

Campaign rules of 3 different managers in the forum;
Quote
♦️ 150 characters minimum. No links & overusing punctuation will count
Quote
▶️ Post must be minimum 150 characters long and constructive.
Quote
➥ Posts that do not carry a semantic load or posts whose content is less than 200 characters will not be paid.

The rule exists because they don't want participants getting paid to crank out a bunch of shitposts that take 30 seconds to type. Its not logical to infer from it that "long post = good." As a matter of fact, the best posts are those that convey the most information in the fewest amount of words.

BTT needs traffic to keep valid.

Like hell it does. Bitcointalk doesn't need squat from anybody except for theymos, to make sure the lights stay on. You opened yet another account to talk trash so soon? My my...

You have 80–90 active participants. Even if you cut your weekly max post count to 50-60, you will still have the most viewed avatar and signature as the campaign with the most participants on the forum.

This way, there is less controversy, the forum is happy, and so are the participants.

I think something along these lines sounds reasonable. Paying for such a huge post count each week naturally encourages spam and shitposts. There is no way to mentally cartwheel yourself away from such an easy inference. The more posts paid, the lower quality the posts, and the higher chance they will be viewed as "spam." It's kind of an unavoidable correlation.
435  Economy / Reputation / Re: A clear change in airfinex's posting pattern. on: February 18, 2024, 05:40:52 AM
Aside from the stupidity of the OP's question, he commits a gross error by putting WO next to casino names, as if WO were a campaign, and apart from that he does not include in the poll the casinos that all of us who have been on the forum longer know have more spammers.
Yeah, dude I noticed that and was wondering if there was some campaign going on with the initials 'WO' but the first thing I thought of was the Wall Observer thread.  And yeah, airfinex doesn't post much given that he's been a member of the forum for nearly 6 years, but you'd think he'd know what WO is (and more importantly in the context of his thread, what it isn't).

A fun factoid is that the WO campaign is the least successful campaign in the history of the Bitcointalk forum. Not only are signatures not shown in their primary thread of posting (the WO thread), but they don't even have a signature at all.

I just glanced at his post history, and it looks to me like there hasn't been a change in English proficiency over the years, which is something that's obviously a dead giveaway of an account changing hands.  So I'd need way more evidence before I'd leave airfinex even a neutral tag--but that's just me.  He definitely doesn't deserve a negative, and I'd say even a neutral with not much to prove an account sale or hack is pushing it.

IMO its still the same guy. He just avidly enjoys trolling with what is most likely to be a second account. Everyone needs a hobby I guess.
436  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ SCAM ALERT ] Blackjack.Fun is a cheap Scammer on: February 18, 2024, 03:18:24 AM
sorry but you also did not read all! easy as that.

LOL. That's the thing: we DID read all, we just don't agree with you. Easy as that.

Blackjack.fun scammed me and you will not help them and other scammed players with putting a blind eye on it.

They didn't scam you. You can't name what the scam is, nor can you name a single other "scammed player." You're trying to trash them for no apparent reason.

I will update your price chart.
Game projects can give a good profit if they don’t die.
But when competitors appear and the influx of new players ends, the price of the token begins to fall sharply.
And it even seems to me that it is now more profitable for the team to do a new project than to try to develop an old project.

Yeah, thanks for posting that. So it was indeed ridiculously overhyped. A while after writing the original post, the Ronin Network was hacked by the Lazarus Group and they lost hundreds of millions of dollars worth of ETH and other tokens. This affair only sped up their inevitable downfall, however. The game just wasn't good enough to keep everyone in full swing with it forever. A couple other crypto games I've watched with interest are Zed Run (horse racing game) and Splinterlands (strategy card game), although neither one of those came close to the success witnessed by Axie.

Oh well, need to find a new candidate token for Episode #2 next.

I will also give XFL a chance. It appears everyone in this thread will watch it? I hope I will like it and the theory of relativity occurs to make the 6 months of waiting feel it was only 1 month.

Pains me to say it but I suppose probably will as well. I'm gonna be jonesing for more football pretty soon. Although, and I'm pretty sure I mentioned it last season as well, fiending for the XFL after the end of the NFL is the equivalent to being out of weed and having to scrape the resin from the inside of a pipe in order to achieve some kind of dubious high. Its not nearly the same thing as the real deal but if you're desperate enough or have a good enough imagination, it almost is.

Here's some Ai generated shitcoins being mined on the newest asic.
I tried to capture the essence of the project. I hope its shitty enough.

Wow, that is... fairly disturbing. The dog's b-hole seems to be in his left butt cheek, as opposed to the usual center location just beneath the tail. Unless if that's just some gnarly mole with big hairs sticking out of it as opposed to lines representing the flow of stinky air. Regardless, thank you for your attempt.

A buddy of mine did come up with a couple of pretty cool, sophisticated Shitcoin logos for Web4; this one being my favorite:

I think the corn chunks really sell it.
