422  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] Paytoshi - Microtransaction Wallet + Faucet API & Script on: February 16, 2015, 01:25:29 PM
Our staff just identified a security hole in our faucet script.

We are working on a fix for it. Expect updates and instructions during the day.  Wink

Sorry for incovenience, we are working hard to get stable once again.

If the issue is only in your faucet script then can you enable the API for the faucets not using your faucet script  Roll Eyes

Also you should publish the hacker's bitcoin address.

Other faucets may want to ban him forever Grin

There is no bug shown in Windows 2008 VPS, just stop the cpu limitation after some hours then the cpu limitation is not working after re-started again. Afterall, I'm not dare to try again because I might be kicked off if overloaded the cpu.

As I see the CPU usage in NeedIfFindIt's version is calculated based on block reward. I guess we might need to add maximum CPU limit (any situation).

True. In 0.96/0.97 if the hashrate/blockvalue is at the targeted 22MH/s/12XMG/Block it will run at 100%.
(and it happens pretty often in the morning EU time)

Today I got some time to finish the 0.98

Changelog:
Code:
- added ability to set your own target for Network hash rate.
- added ability to set your own target for Block Value.
- added ability to set Min & Max CPU usage.
- just 2 miners included (special thanks to Spexx & Wolf0).
- now it shows the % in reverse way (90% becomes 10% etc.).

What is this?

Don't be surprised that it gets detected as "having miners". Yes, it has 2 of the best magi miners.

In the package there are 2 readme.txt files with links to this forum.
Win32

Win64
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg10303469#msg10303469

This is where I got the miners. I use them for 2+ weeks and they seem to be trustworthy.

Now I posted also a version without any miners:

Anyway since 0.98 I uploaded also the source.

Spexx's pack should be able to easy things out, once people take few minutes to follow / read instructions carefully; you only need to do it once.

As to GUI, NeedIfFindIt's miner: http://xmg.makejar.com/ Also some one offered Simplicity long time ago, will need to adapt to new miners though: https://github.com/aceoyame/Simplicity-XMG

Programming contest won't work out in my view, guess only few people around who can do this task. But if we offer few BTC bounties, that's gonna a different talk. In a simple way, we offer bounties if one can contribute along that, and any other stuffs; just ask us, Smiley here or PM, me, magic, jawitech.

http://xmg.makejar.com/ is buggy in Win64, it will stop the cpu efficiency limitation after some hours and cannot even start again in my Windows 2008 VPS, and it totally cannot run in my Windows 8.

Yes, I agreed that programming contest is useless, BTC bounties is good  Grin

What kind of GUI required? BTW, I thought joelao95 can do coding, right? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=848697.msg9453656#msg9453656 Is this you job?

Since I'm preparing the next version of SweetSpot can you describe the bugs you are getting?

I'm using it 24/7 on 2 intel laptops running Win 7 x64 and testing occasionally on AMD Phenom (again Win 7 x64) ... can't reproduce the issue.

The only time it stops limiting is when my server (that distributes the hashrate/blockvalue) dies (for 10min~2h). And in the last month it happened 6 or 7 times thanks to the defective ADATA memory (yep and they refuse to replace it under warranty).

About the miners - you can drop any miner (in a separate folder) in the SweetSpot's folder. Then just restart the app.

May you allow .rocks TLD

I'm getting "This value should be a valid url." when trying to add http://steep.rocks/ to the Paytoshi faucet list.

Hello NeedIfFindIt,

thanks for your report.

If you agree, we will fix it for you straight away while we fix the website validator.

Ofc. I agree (currently it is using redirect) but having direct link is always a plus.

Thanks!

In 0.9.6 it will use hardcoded 11MHs/11XMG which makes 100%/50%

In 0.9.7 it will use hardcoded 22MHs/22XMG which makes it running at 100% if the connection to my hosting is unavailable (also a message will appear).

If just magid crash then the MHs value will be grabbed from one of the pools and the XMG/Block will be estimated on MHs.

I guess using the block value (v0.9.6) would be better. The hashrate actually has no direct relationship with the difficulty-v2 and blockvalue, so it might be unreliable. I'm about to add difficulty-v2 based hashrate into the API call, but think that might be inaccurate; the formula is hashrate = diff * 2^32/blocktime =  diff * 2^32/180 if you want to use hashrate (actually blocktime varies a lot). Also the optimum network hash is supposed to be increasing over time, that is to allow more people mining.

An additional thought which might be useful in some situations: include an option to set the maximum of default CPU usage; for example, people may want to limit CPU mining while using their office PC.

Probably I did not explained it correctly.
blockvalue is just guessed from the hashrate only in a situation when:
- magid at my host has crashed.
- the host is still able to connect to one of the pools.
- there is no value in the xcache (I cache the values for 2 minutes to avoid RPC overload) but also cache the same values for 6 hours just in case Wink

I plan to include more CPU options in the next version but it will be in February (need more testing).

Thanks for the advice and for including magid

Got new version based on:
Code:
[blockvalue] => Array
        (
            [difficulty-V2] => x.xxxxxxxx
            [blockvalue] => xx.xxxxxxxx
        )

Targeting at least 12 XMG block value for the full speed (with hope that this will almost cover the energy cost soon).

Nice, I've added the miner to the OP. A question, is the miner using the reward information from your hosted magid? what happens if the site gets offline, will that be problematic to running the miner?

In 0.9.6 it will use hardcoded 11MHs/11XMG which makes 100%/50%

In 0.9.7 it will use hardcoded 22MHs/22XMG which makes it running at 100% if the connection to my hosting is unavailable (also a message will appear).

If just magid crash then the MHs value will be grabbed from one of the pools and the XMG/Block will be estimated on MHs.

Is there a way to implement your software logic into linux miner?
The linux legacy miner also supports CPU limitation, all we need now is a script or program to make the decision making for CPU efficiency on linux miner...
Can this be done?

I think the best option would be to modify the legacy miner and make it manage the the cpu usage internally. But I'm not good enough in C++ and totally lame in linux.

The hashrate & block value are not available in the stratum protocol. I use my host:
http://xmg.makejar.com/hp.php?v=0.97

Where v is the app version (I may change the number of params returned for the next versions).

The result is simply HashRate|BlockValue

Don't flood me. I call it once per 2 minutes. But actually the BlockValue changes very slowly, even once per 20-30min should be good enough.

Make sure how you will manage the cpu usage if my host is not responding etc.

@NeedIfFindIt

Thank you very much, very interesting information. I wonder if the difference in coins per day is related to the hashrate; higher hashrate less coins, lower hashrate more coins?
That would be superb.

Please PM me your XMG address, I would like to send you some as a thank you for sharing this info. Found your tipjar address on the info page http://xmg.makejar.com/xmg-per-day/ and send 500 XMG to 9BrrhUXoBJd6z84gJJE3GbyUkmmqGMPEPL

THANKS! This will definitely push me into doing new crazy things around Magicoin  Grin

About the coins from POW. In the "Best case scenario" - steady 22MH/s network hashrate it would be probably 24*60/3*50=24000 XMG (24 hours * 60 minutes/3 minute block * 50 XMG)

But since all of us (that use electricity for heating  Cool) see 25 XMG / block as pure profit, don't expect to see the "Best case scenario" before the Spring-Summer period.

Just 2 days ago I saw steady 100+MH/s and 1 XMG / block.

In POS the things are harder to predict. Every time I get Stake my inputs split in half. After a week my 500 XMG got into 15 smaller pieces. Should I merge it (send to one address) for better results?

The Magi Miner Gui have some crappy sides:
- it uses full 100% of one CPU core (lol). I know it is not made to be running 24/7 but anyway it is wasteful.
- it is unable to hide the minerd window.

So I decided to make better launcher/controller adding a ton of nice features.

Sweet Spot Magi Miner is able:
- to hide the miner window so it will not waste your taskbar space.
- to hide itself into the system tray while running.
- to start the miner at LOW priority so the miner will not slow down your work.
- to check the current network hashrate and control the miner:
-- at network hashrate above 37MH/s it will IDLE the miner at 5-10% eating-up just the empty CPU cycles that are going to waste anyway.
-- at network hashrate between 37MH/s and 23MH/s it will gradually increase the CPU usage up to 50%.
-- at network hashrate below 23MH/s it will not limit the miner (but it will continue to work in LOW priority).

This is freaking awesome, mate. I agree the Magi Miner Gui is totally not a good option now, Spexx's package is much better than that.

The idea of your miner is very interesting. Using the network hashrate to control CPU usage might not be accurate, cause that fluctuates a lot. A getaround is to use the value based on difficulty-V2. I will make an update and include that in the API call. Anyway, the miner is very cool!

I am keen to see everyone using this miner; we'll need a linux version then; we should be able to get it done by modifying the original miner.

The initial idea was to (almost) stop the miner when a "farmer" or "bot-net network" enters the magi pool network. Currently I get the "nethashrate" every 2 minutes from one of the pools and then share it via my website to the GUI app.
Then the GUI app controls minerd by pausing and resuming its threads. So it will work with any minerd version (just create sub-folder with minerd inside and restart the GUI app).

Where I can get the difficulty-V2 online? Or easy way to extract it from the magi client? (I have little experience with bitcoind but I don't see magid)

True, the website was done overnight just to fill the empty space Smiley

Best if there was a way to put the CPU logic in minerd instead of relying on external app but I'm not in C+ coding.

Thanks.

Keep in mind that this may affect also the "media partner" bot which is serving the google ads. So if the ads disappear in a day or two ... you will have to search another solution. Maybe button with javascript onclick instead of <a href=... for the hold/unhold.

There are also robots.txt hacks to allow only google ads etc.

Probably only the FaucetBOX faucets created from "scratch" exhibit this behavoiur (how sad!  Embarrassed )

I think you'll be happy to hear, that we have a fix for that on our Roadmap Smiley. Hovewer it'll be up to faucet owners to decide if they want that, because they'll have to update the script on their servers.

I have to request one more feature that could be useful (and will make FB better than the others).

Ability to send the payment + the ref payment in one request.

This should decrease the FB load and speed-up the faucets that use it.
