The Magi Miner Gui have some crappy sides: - it uses full 100% of one CPU core (lol). I know it is not made to be running 24/7 but anyway it is wasteful. - it is unable to hide the minerd window. So I decided to make better launcher/controller adding a ton of nice features. Sweet Spot Magi Miner is able: - to hide the miner window so it will not waste your taskbar space. - to hide itself into the system tray while running. - to start the miner at LOW priority so the miner will not slow down your work. - to check the current network hashrate and control the miner: -- at network hashrate above 37MH/s it will IDLE the miner at 5-10% eating-up just the empty CPU cycles that are going to waste anyway. -- at network hashrate between 37MH/s and 23MH/s it will gradually increase the CPU usage up to 50%. -- at network hashrate below 23MH/s it will not limit the miner (but it will continue to work in LOW priority). Download link: http://xmg.makejar.com/download/sweet-spot-0.9.5.zipScreenshot & More details: http://xmg.makejar.com/Tested on Win 7 & Win XP. PM me if you get any issues. This is freaking awesome, mate. I agree the Magi Miner Gui is totally not a good option now, Spexx's package is much better than that. The idea of your miner is very interesting. Using the network hashrate to control CPU usage might not be accurate, cause that fluctuates a lot. A getaround is to use the value based on difficulty-V2. I will make an update and include that in the API call. Anyway, the miner is very cool! Edit: - Stacking (where applicable) is a reward for the users that keep a copy of the blockchain in their PCs. should be staking; reward is also for block finder via proof of stake mechanism. I am keen to see everyone using this miner; we'll need a linux version then; we should be able to get it done by modifying the original miner. Thanks for the advice and for including magidGot new version based on: [blockvalue] => Array ( [difficulty-V2] => x.xxxxxxxx [blockvalue] => xx.xxxxxxxx )
Targeting at least 12 XMG block value for the full speed (with hope that this will almost cover the energy cost soon). Download link: http://xmg.makejar.com/download/sweet-spot-0.9.6.zipScreenshot & More details: http://xmg.makejar.com/

That's how Magi works: The network hashrate is low (mostly around 40-60 MH/s), as a result the block rewards get higher. What does it tell us? Slow down your miners if your hashrate is > 1 MH/s and you will get way more than using full speed! It's magic, isn't it?

You get more BTC/LTC when mining with less hashrate? I always thought they have a fixed block reward.

Does anyone know how many XMG coins are approximately mined per 24hrs at this time?
Today I got some time to play with RPC and got some interesting numbers: Date | Total Coins Generated | POW | POS | Total Blocks | POW Blocks | POS Blocks | 15.01.2015 | 5355.04309628 XMG | 5335.32580438 XMG | 19.71729190 XMG | 1363 | 453 | 910 | 14.01.2015 | 6582.57954466 XMG | 6560.94729596 XMG | 21.63224870 XMG | 1356 | 444 | 912 |

@NeedIfFindIt Thank you very much, very interesting information. I wonder if the difference in coins per day is related to the hashrate; higher hashrate less coins, lower hashrate more coins? That would be superb. Please PM me your XMG address, I would like to send you some as a thank you for sharing this info. Found your tipjar address on the info page http://xmg.makejar.com/xmg-per-day/ and send 500 XMG to 9BrrhUXoBJd6z84gJJE3GbyUkmmqGMPEPL Keep up the good work, Cheers! THANKS! This will definitely push me into doing new crazy things around Magicoin About the coins from POW. In the "Best case scenario" - steady 22MH/s network hashrate it would be probably 24*60/3*50=24000 XMG (24 hours * 60 minutes/3 minute block * 50 XMG) But since all of us (that use electricity for heating ) see 25 XMG / block as pure profit, don't expect to see the "Best case scenario" before the Spring-Summer period. Just 2 days ago I saw steady 100+MH/s and 1 XMG / block. In POS the things are harder to predict. Every time I get Stake my inputs split in half. After a week my 500 XMG got into 15 smaller pieces. Should I merge it (send to one address) for better results?

THANKS! This will definitely push me into doing new crazy things around Magicoin Do it. will be nice to see; I suggest adding XMG address into sig so that people can easily find the address to donate. Btw, added http://xmg.makejar.com/xmg-per-day/ into OP In POS the things are harder to predict. Every time I get Stake my inputs split in half. After a week my 500 XMG got into 15 smaller pieces. Yes, merging into a bigger amount (no more than 2000) will be better.

That's true, the higher hashrate, the less coins.

A question, is the miner using the reward information from your hosted magid? what happens if the site gets offline, will that be problematic to running the miner?

I have ~144 XMG in my wallet, how is my stake weight derived? I moved 144 to 2 other addresses and back quite a few times? The days to reward is 150+ days OMG In general PoS, stake weight amounts to number of coins times the number of days in stake. PoS-II modified the way of calculating days in stake using a kind of math functions. You can find the stake weight (also coin age) from the following figure. The bottom line is nearly corresponding to your situation. The days to reward is 150+ days OMG The expected time is never accurate, as it's calculated by PoS block time x network weight / your stake weight. Obviously, this equation never gives zero. You will see the expected time quickly gets reduced over time. I believe it will give a relatively "accurate" time by staking a few hours. Based on that, you will have some idea about how much time for offline; I suggest back online at least once a day to check the status. When it says expected time is about few hours, keep it online; when it says a few minutes, that's crazy, don't trust it , just keep it online and reap reward; but don't miss the reward time or stay offline too long time.

A question, is the miner using the reward information from your hosted magid? what happens if the site gets offline, will that be problematic to running the miner? In 0.9.6 it will use hardcoded 11MHs/11XMG which makes 100%/50% In 0.9.7 it will use hardcoded 22MHs/22XMG which makes it running at 100% if the connection to my hosting is unavailable (also a message will appear). If just magid crash then the MHs value will be grabbed from one of the pools and the XMG/Block will be estimated on MHs.
