Don't forget moonco.in is much more than just a solid coin exchange. They also do bets and poker as well as host a namecoin exchange. A lot of people had a lot of coins there BTC/SLC/NMC and will be worried about getting their coins back. I do regret not making some donations to help fund the site but at the same time that probably wouldn't have stopped that problem from happening at at this stage there is no official word on what has happened. I'm hoping it was some kind of recoverable hardware or software problem and that Mr Moon is working to bring it back up.

I have send him a PM to ask if the exchange is coming back but he hasn't replied as yet but it was only an hour ago. I think he has PM'd a few people. I would like to hear something good.

I'm guessing this is the reason for the recent spike in BTC value.

That's good news. What was your question?

Why in the world would he skip town with a bunch of our SCs though? What does he expect to do with them, buy a bunch of memberships on Lorna-Morgan.com?
LMAO I wonder if she had any coins in the exchange. I remember her saying good things about it.

"all that is solid melts into air" as Karl Marx would have said ;-p

Got a raindrop of good news. Keep hope in your mind!
source?

I'll see if I can get it setup, but won't have the betting part of it!
Why not?

I had an issue with a BTC withdrawal on the 9th, took 5+ hrs to confirm which was uncharacteristically long. All SC transactions have also moved smoothly.
That's some good news, at least. Hopefully MrMoon is just having technical issues and will be back up soon. We hope for a statement soon. Other than that the only thing we can go on is the block explorers.

Interesting proposition. Any basis?
Yes, I remember the site saying that they wait for "1 confirmation" this may have changed though but remember solidcoin is such a small network with a relatively low difficulty it would be easy for any moderate to large miner to mine multiple blocks in a row. Was anyone having trouble withdrawing coins in the days before the site went down?
|
|

My guess is MrMoon is legitimate, however, blackhat types may have flooded the exchange with fake solidcoins (and fake confirmations) and used those to buy bitcoins which they then withdrew.

I like this a lot. What did you use for the frame and for securing the motherboard in place?

The cipher geeks say bitcoin is a good idea. Economists are almost always wrong anyway, so I'll stay with the smart money and bitcoin.
That's right. I don't know if I am getting smarter but I'm damn sure that my money is.

I'm not selling. It gets my mind in the wrong mindset and I end up in the bear trap when the market takes off again. At the moment I am using fiat money to pay down personal debts and am trading the alternates to increase my BTC count. When I am ready I will buy a more BTC. At the moment I buy some from a miner that I know in real life as he is a good friend but he only produces 1 BTC a day and kind of wants to just pay off his rig and get out. I tell him what I make trading the BTC he sells me and he is interested but I warn him to be careful.

Well this is in the main.cpp:
const char* pszTimestamp = "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks";
So its still bitcoin but my guess is there will be cosbycoin out soon. Not sure if Bill Cosby will approve of it though.
