did we loose one Grin

This block 388788 is showing up as an F2Pool block on the Blockchain...  Angry

Man that sucks as this block is a Fat block at 25.596 and a decent diff for us, I'm sure Kano is fighting with F2 right about now.
422  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: December 14, 2015, 10:18:23 PM
Bitmain has been down a long time. I hope the Chinese government hasn't shut them down. Anybody heard any news about why they're down?

Perhaps they are about to release S9 with the Full Custom 14nm 0.1J/GH BM1386 ASIC  Smiley ?

Rich

Yes, s9 at .08j doing 8th and selling for 4btc. You think the diff is crazy now, 2000PH by April.

Heh, that would indeed be crazy.

I hope they provide coupons

Yep, trade in your batch 1 s7 that cost 7btc, delivered late and only made 20% roi. They will give you a 250 coupon for the trade. Haha

Thank you!

Also you should come mine at kano.is  i'v been on antpool for ~6 months but moved  on to kano, and with recent luck  been getting %120~ of PPS it does have a ramp up time for a couple of days where you see decreased payouts but after that its great. He also pays out TX fees

Should really consider it!
I just did it  Smiley
I was considering it for a few days and after checking orphans there are better and also antpool doesn't pay mining fee so i will try it for a few days

You need to mine there for at least 5 days to reach 5nd to get full payouts. Before that payouts will be less, but eventually be paid. I am still waiting to reach 5nd of 23TH, I am at 19TH now. I am planning to point more miners at Kano after Bitmain delivers.

You never loose anything, just takes 4-5 days to reach full 5N, but if you ever decide to leave and I'm pretty sure you will not, you will get paid for 4-5 days after you stop mining also, till all your shares are out of 5N range.

Great pool, i agreed

Been 100% on Kano's pool since early June and have done much better then any other pool. Over 105% on avg and support a pool that is true to BTC unlike the Chinese scum pools. Look at the stats, no one compares, he has the best code on the network and fantastic support.

Weird, I just saw that too.  Maybe Kano put too many addresses in his transaction?  I didn't know it was limited to 250.

It's not, that's just blockchain.info failing.  They are not the definitive source for all things transaction related.

Well, not just blockchain.info

But still not confirmed yet

So when I look up this transactions on blockchain.info, I am getting this message
"Transaction rejected by our node. Reason: The Maximum number of outputs in a single transaction is 250"

Weird, I just saw that too.  Maybe Kano put too many addresses in his transaction?  I didn't know it was limited to 250.

Yes, very odd. Around the same time as Kano sent this payment, I has 2 final payments from slush since I moved all my miners to Kano last night and one does not exist and the other still unconfirmed for over 90 blocks. The below links are right from the Slush payments page.

http://www.blockchain.info/tx/86f3f011f11ace78e1144e758c5a4567cf226309feb5bca72c69e0acd4cab878

Also odd is that Slush has made blocks since these payments so why would they not confirm their own transactions?

My 1 day hashrate seems low. Is it due to db issue? I haven't registered yet, just using my BTC address to mine. Been mining here since 2 hours prior to block 387268. How do I find out if I am close to 5N?

ooops forgot to hit post... anyway I wrote that it will take time for the 7day rate to get up to speed (1 day does seem low). Someone with more knowledge on the 5N should be able to help you with your question.

The long and the short of it is..... just keep mining here and you will soon receive full benefits Smiley And register for access to more miner/pool stats.

The 5N is a moving target based on pool hash rate, but its currently around 4.5 days, as long as pool hash stays constant, then you should see full reward in 4-5 days of mining here. Again, if you leave you will continue to gain rewards till all your shares fall off the 5N at that time. But, I've tried them all and there is no reason to leave, you will not find a better paying pool or support for that matter.

Thanks, I just created an account, I am guessing work done under my BTC address will not be added to my 5nd status but will be paid. I am hoping I am wrong, or else my 4.5 days will start from today. Just wondering why my account page shows 2 hash rate "Hash Rate:23.86/19.76THs" on the upper right corner below user id.

Yes, the BTC address mining you did will be paid separately, I think. And now you stats will be under your account. As for the 2 hash rates, left one is 5min avg and right one is 1hr avg.

back to the topic of s7.

did you guys noticed that s7 produces quite a bit of rejected shares ? especially if you are oc'ed ! it's quite alot mining even at antpool the creator of antminers. you DO NOT get paid for reject shares even if you are at a high hashrate ! so that means lower hashrate will earn you more btc compared to highers hashrate *ie oc'ing the s7 too much* & also saves you power & probably other costs or wear & tear of running the miner.

if you can, please try with stock clock & overclocked mining at the same pool same s7 miner for couple of hours & compare the results. i can be very wrong but i don't think that i am.

i moved my miners roughly 80ths +/- 5% to K's pool & the miner stats page is accurate not like ant going all over the place for the past week. yes the payout sucks initially for couple of days but it will ramp up. be PATIENT ! if you do the math & *IF* K pool does perform on the avg, yes you will be paid more than other pool atm. just a little like p2pool, u need time to ramp up the hashrates & payouts. so far the s7 stats on miner side & K pool is very close & lesser rejected shares compared mining at antpool.

miners should support smaller pools which are doing the right thing especially with good support & community. do NOT support larger pools which are NOT doing the right thing for the bitcoin community.

Amen Brother!. I've tried them all, and been at Kano since early June. Fantastic results and awesome support, Kano answers every inquiry on the form, does the right thing for BTC and has the best back-end mining code on the network. Just last week, people are finally starting to see that and we are at almost 5PH. Keep spreading the word and be at 20PH soon. Very happy here and payouts are the best once you hit 5N, which is getting shorter with higher hash rates.

Some of the larger pools are currently under DDoS attack.

Which ones? Would be a whole set of coincidences: Wired which claims to have revealed SN's identity, the price rise once the story is online and now a ddos?

kano: Have you ever heard of Wright in your country?

F2pool for sure and they have already threatened to redirect any DDOS to Kano.is in this thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1274066.msg13145333#msg13145333

So what is this post all about? Antpool DDOS and blacklist Kano pool?

Has anyone received any compensation  for any s-7 any batch if it under hashes or if it was late.

My batch 1 came on time as I was a very early order. But it now has become a slow machine .

I don't get 4860 gh as promised .

I never over clocked it. I use an evga  1600 p2 psu.  it is providing 11.94 volts to all 10 pcie jacks.

It used to do 4800 then 4700 then 4600 now it is down to 4500. Maybe more like 4400.

So this piece of gear is becoming very disappointing.

my other one is very good  So I have a dog and a good one.

Same Here, I have 2 Batch 1 units. one of them is slowly getting lower. Now at 4.65 and the other is 4.8 with a OC to 612. Only way I can get it to stay around 4.8. The first unit that getting slower, can't take any OC without err going sky high. Quite disappointed and should have skipped Batch 1

Something very strange is happening with the Hashnest in recent days, the site was abandoned, there is no administration, support is away, many glitchers using codes and chat gaps, redirecting access to other sites, and leaving HN inaccessible ...

Very easy to manipulate the market. A single troll (username: ag) is using bots and autobuy scripts to freeze all markets and making jokes in chat. I think the hashnest deserves to be investigated more closely by the entire community.
Angry

I have seen that also, been on the chat for 2 months and saw him testing his bots last month. He actually sells the bots and support for them. Hash nest also limited the view on the bid & ask to 40 orders. The bots fill all 40 with penny bids and you can't see the real mkt. HN needs to limit API use or charge for API use, also needs to limit to 5-10 open orders per account. A real user has no need to more then that, otherwise the  bots take over the mkt and makes trading there impossible.

lmao, I made it onto bitcointalk!

Support has been non-existent, for months, I have a ticket still open since March, even the ticket where I reported the chat glitches is still open!

The redirects have all been fixed (Basic HTML meta refresh tag in username and <video> tags in chatbox), luckily these were all reported to bitmain (by myself and No203) and were fixed before some malicious scammer found out who could of redirected it to a phishing site or other malicious sites. I believe No203 redirected everyone to stop any scammer doing it before it was fixed.

As for the bot, it is open-source created by a different user (billalberts) - Github link of where I forked it: https://github.com/HN-AG - billalberts removed his original repo on github so he could sell the bot, and offer paid support - http://talk.nvest.tech/ so don't accuse me of selling the bot/support for it, I offer no support for the bot!

My bot is just a heavily modified version of this code, Hashnest have no rules about using bots, the sole purpose of the Trade API is for bot use isn't it? I do find it rather funny though, there were loads of people sucking up to billalberts to get his bot because they wanted to use it. When someone does use a bot you get moaning plebs complaining about the bots, they are probably the same people who were sucking upto billalberts in the first place!

Limiting accounts to 5-10 open orders per account won't sort it out, its rather easy to use 8 accounts and change API key & Secret every 5-10orders, Hashnest need to revert their decision on the limit for the order books. Bots will always exist while there is a trade api, the 40 penny bids is abit too much so I have actually reduced that now  Roll Eyes

BTW you don't need to place loads of penny bids to actually freeze the market (cross the orderbooks). This can be achieved with just 1GHS and less than 0.002BTC!

Thanks for the clarification. I presumed you were billalberts using another name, several days ago I thought I saw a chat post from you indicating you were billalberts, maybe that was a joke. But my post was referring to billalberts and not you. Sorry about the confusion. I was there when bill was testing his bot and getting ideas from chat users on different strategies etc. I am more pissed about the 40 limit since I can't see the larger orders. I don't mind the bot orders as they provide some liquidity. I had around 60 BTC in the s5 and s7 mkt but cashed out and waiting till things get better and some of this shit gets fixed. If it ever does.

BLOCK!!!

Congrats CapnBDL!  Hit it with just over 1TH, what miner solved this block?

WOOT!! My first block of BTC ever!!! That would be an S3+ (I have 2 & 2 of the little rBox110s).

Congrats! So now the question remains, have you made 25btc combined from pool with this hardware? Verses had you been solo mining?
438  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: November 18, 2015, 01:40:10 AM

Well, any cloud mining operation is a big time risky investment. Not only cause of scam danger but also cause of galloping mining diff and significant price volatility.

Agreed . Waiting for the dust to settle .

I'd think the dust has already settled. The price for s5 has been constant around the .007 to .008 /Gh for the past 3 days. This was the price before the newer batches of s7s were introduced, then went nuts for a while before settling in again. We might not see another price disruption unless newer s7s are introduced one last time.

I'd expect a bit of a constant increase from here in the coming months though.

Constant increase? With BTC price going up as well as 9% diff increasing?Huh?? This is never gonna happen.

What's with the sudden increase in difficulty? Is it due to new s7 miner coming online?

Bitmain and others have been turning up hardware and even older hardware that was not economical to run, now is. So I suspect the new S7, Bitfury and Spondoolie have turned up miners. I think the right rate of hash increase will continue and level around 600PH, then a few months of quiet till next gen of chips and next stop 900ph. But again BTC price will determine how fast and slow this happens.

Yeah that's good. That's what I was hoping.. :-)
I saw the insulated one below it and was hoping you were not using that one.  Grin

If I were not going to heat the garage and basement with these I was thinking of doing the same..

my two are actually close to heating the entire 2000 square foot house.

2400 watts is about 9000 btu's of heat running 24/7

I'm running 2 S7 for heat so far, I think Im going to add a 3rd which I'm planning on supplying 75% of the heat this winter with the 3 S7's. I have then blowing into the return duct on a central forced hot air system. About 2900 sf of house that is only 8 years old and pretty well insulated. Also have a couple s3 blowing into return in my den.

In addition to the selling caused by the high price, there is ongoing sales of BTC that are just not optional. Bitmain must sell at least 100  coins each day to pay suppliers, workers, electric bill, and so forth.

We should expect that there will be "resistance" levels where the price brings out many seller. $500 is urely one of those points.

It's really hard to tell how much they have to cash out  With data centers full of gear even with low electricity, that is still a lot of money.

And they have to cash out to make next batches of miners I would think.  Guessing they go to fiat and then buy miner parts in fiat.   I'm sure they don't run day by day.  I'm confident they have a good amount of rainy day funds to keep everything going incase it ever did drop a lot.

They convert all coin, only coin they have is to pay miners and hashnest. Otherwise, comes in and its sold. Look at when they sold 500 s7 on HN, within 10 min of sale starting, the BTC price dropped and continued to drop till they sold out. 500 miners is almost a million USD dumped in 32 hours, the first 3 hours was a good chunk of that. When they sold out, within 1 hour BTC started going up again. BTC is a pretty small market from a liquidity perspective.

I guess I should have know this.  But that is a crazy amount to dump at once.    Wow surprised I never noticed.  But makes perfect sense.

Do we know if S4/S5 sales caused a dump? And if so how much?

Bitmain holds significant amounts of BTC, they support Bitcoin and don't simply dump it on exchanges. If there are price drops after batch announcements then its coincidental.

I find it quite odd that when HW batch or HN hash is actually on sale, not announcement but first hour store is open AND they sell hundreds of units that the BTC price drops in the same hour. Then when units sold out or sales slow significantly BTC stabilizes and starts to rise. Is there any evidence to support them holding BTC from sales? Friday 9am China time, they are selling another 500 units into HN, if there is huge demand at open and they sell 100-200 units in the first 2 hours, let see what the price does. That would be 8pm ET Thursday if I am doing the time conversion correctly.
