Hi all, yes finally all is OK again. Although it was quite a few ckdb restarts in there, there was also one ckpool restart that most miners would have noticed. As I've mentioned many times before, ckdb restarts wont affect your mining at all, but the one ckpool restart in there will have been notice by all miners. All is good again and the block gods decided that we should find one right there toward the end of fixing the problems

Kano (when you get a moment),
Will the shifts during the db issue cause any problems with payment calcs / 5N etc...? I notice those shifts have no reward figures and for one of the shifts the hash rate of my miners dropped right off.

I noticed this as well. 3 shifts with 0 reward. Edit: yes the first shift (bottom of your list) is most likely due to a restart of some kind.

Thanks, in the grand scheme of things I'm sure this will have such a minimal affect that its not worth worrying about.

Ah right yep I see the problem. That data isn't actually used anywhere in the database or in the calculations of rewards. It's calculated purely for display there. A ckdb restart will fix it by clearing all the PPS calculations and redoing them. I guess in my code that calculates them, a block found while ckdb is reloading skipped the ones not calculated yet. OK added to my todo list to fix the code, I can see where the problem is. I'm not sure if everyone really wants another restart, but since they are only attribute numbers, not actual values used to determine anything, I might wait until tomorrow before doing yet another restart to fix them.

Given your pool is going to have more eyes, viewing things given the resent luck... from a marketing viewpoint may want to get it corrected for those looking over the site in review. BUT up to you of course.

Pool owners choice In the mist of the last few hours there was a question around 2FA from mikefallen. He is unable to get AUTHY to work on kano.is. I also tried this app and could not get it to work either. (FreeOTP does work for me)

Oh oops, didn't answer all your questions. Yeah the low shift is very short as you can see, 3m 21s and during the end of that shift I had to restart ckpool due to a problem I caused with ckdb You were most likely failed over to your backup pool for a lot of that 3m 21s (as probably most everyone was for a minute or 2) A shift has no special weighting, your shares are all the same value per share diff, so a short or long shift make no difference to the share value. Also regarding rewards, you'll see they are all looking ok on the Rewards page, calculated correctly.

ooops forgot to hit post... anyway I wrote that it will take time for the 7day rate to get up to speed (1 day does seem low). Someone with more knowledge on the 5N should be able to help you with your question. The long and the short of it is..... just keep mining here and you will soon receive full benefits And register for access to more miner/pool stats.

Dealing with a small database issue at the moment. The website will be offline again soon to restart it.
I can't seem to get 2FA working with AUTHY ( https://www.authy.com/) I keep getting invalid code when i'm trying to activate it. 2FA on every other site works....weird Well it probably means they don't like anything but the default settings. Currently the web site 2FA settings are Kano: totp SHA256 30s and of course your secret key You may be able to manually set them, but the QRCode on the web page says those settings with your secret key (and works on both the apps I list) I chose SHA256 ... coz we mine bitcoins using SHA256 The default used on the net seems to be the much simpler to crack SHA1

Yes username cannot be BTC address, but enter your BTC address when you register and your payout for both BTC address mining and account mining will be merged into a single payment (kano could possibly confirm). So you will not loose any reward payouts. It might just mean your account wont show full rate straight away and slightly longer to reach 5N but you will be still getting some payouts from when you was mining using your BTC address. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can confirm this as I am new to this and my understanding might not be 100% accurate.

3 things 1) The numbers shown for address mining are the hash rate estimates from ckpool. They are not the exact numbers used by ckdb to determine your reward. CKDB counts shares submitted during each shift and pays all (1diff) share values the same in each payout. 2) The actual numbers shown will get close to your average hash rate over the time label after 3 times the time label e.g. the 1hr figure should be close to your average 1hr hash rate after about 3hrs 3) The 5Nd number is displayed here: https://kano.is/index.php?k=payout You'd have to have a user account to see the shift details. It's currently (for the last block reward) 118hr 9m 56s 4.00PHs You can calculate somewhere close to the time from the pool average hash rate: To get 5Nd shares with 4PH will take 5Nd * 2^32 / 4x10^15 seconds = 424677s = ~118hrs (close but not exact of course - but the pool average hash rate isn't obvious either)
