I am using Coinpocket. It can't import private keys but it give you the private key in BIP38. You can do the opposite by importing the private key into Multibit...

Just want to add that the feature of "reversible" transaction will most likely be included, which really oppose the idea of bitcoin.
In short, bitcoin is not backed/controlled by a company/government; whereas all other digital coins that are issued by companies or government will most likely by backed/controlled/manipulated by them.

hello all, recently a close friend sent me 200 bitcoins through multibit, i got an account set up and everything. but i thought bitcoins were worth an insane amount of money, ( CAD- bitcoins are $573) but it says its only worth $83.72. the number of bitcoins it has in the account says 200.000 am i wrong on the amount of bitcoins i have?
Hmmm.... maybe your friend made a mistake. He wanted to send you 200BTC with 200mBTC fee, but made a mistake by sending you 200 mBTC with 200 BTC fee. Share us the your public address and we can let you know where the problem was.

No sure about the second layer... Are the code open source? We need a "trustless" open sourced second layer.

... the blockchain address said the coins were sent to the middle of the Gulf of Guinea...
I also do not understand why blockchain.info provide this information. Where is the location referring to?? and what is the significant of this location?

200mBTC is actually quite good point to start with. You can try to purchase something with it and experience the new way of payment transfer.

I wonder if there's anyone here in this forum who can confirm that they we're able to get the Bitcoin Giveaway on Bloomberg. I've seen this kind of news in Facebook all day and some of them are just nicely edited news report looking video. I would not even try to scan that QR code.
Actually this giveaway was the last leg of a trivia that I published on bitcointalk forum Turkish section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1362817.20I gave all the clues over the week on the forum and my twitter account. I even published the method of sweeping a bitcoin by scanning a private key QR using mycelium application. I just did not tell explicitly how the QR code would be published but guessing based on the clues was really easy. Finally the key was published on live broadcast. And a bitcointalk forum member (hugoworld) proved he was the winner by signing a message and sending it to the trivia post. -----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE----- @bitcoinhaber e teşekkürler. -----BEGIN SIGNATURE----- 1Bf5WpFw77aiMdSqkJj27usJQu7Dt8bC1i H/S97YqGARwSoZLZv79HrH9QlOOV0f26VWIHrj0RvinMPPoWU/mAUsvYN83Bd7XN/5NsBUDEIMUzHXBr9KB4u8A= -----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
This is really good. Too bad I missed it! Hope more of these will come in future and more people will come to know bitcoin.

They need to make sure that transaction is accepted with at least 3 to 6 confirmations... That's a long time of 30 to 60 minutes. Can the customers wait that long?

if the prize is only $4 (0.01 btc) then the hacker wont spend a huge amount of compute power trying to crack that address. but when the prize justifies the crack, they might try a little harder
People that crack brain wallets just brute force possible phrases regardless of the prizes they may obtain. They don't attack specific addresses, they just try and sweep all the addresses that they find during their attack. This is why I have created about 10 paper wallets (random or brain wallets) and transfer 1000 bits into each to test. If after some time the coins are still there, I will then transfer a larger amount.

I hope the cat is not mining for DOGe... I am sure the air-conditioning system is keeping the temperature low enough for the cat to enjoy.
By the way, what is the purpose of having the box covering the laptop?

I thought classic had lost
No your thinking of Bitcoin XT, it lost the latest one is Bitcoin classic which has a block size of 2mb. I guess we'll see in the long run who really won Now we have the nodes support- Do we need the miner to support it as well?? Do we need to have 75% block mined using classic or (classic + size>1Mb)?
