421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do businesses/vendors that accept crypto HODL or SELL? on: July 02, 2018, 11:30:00 PM
It depends on the type of business that they are running. To give you an example, a business that doesn't need fiat to operate will not be forced to use exchanges. Some examples are crypto casinos, services like bitcoin mixers, people who are getting donations in BTC, like streamers, youtubers. They don't have to convert and actually will be inclined to hold, especially now when price is low. On the other hand if you're running a restaurant that accepts BTC, you will have to convert to pay your employees and buy products.
what you said is true but it also depends on the  business owner whether he is rich or poor as if he is rich then he wont need fiat currency much and can hold the coins and sell it on high.
422  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum still to synchronize, 2.6.4 on: July 02, 2018, 01:07:21 PM
That's not very user friendly though is it?
it is nerd friendly Roll Eyes

I don't get this. I've just said to downgrad before 2.6 when the vulnerability is and you've said that that's a bad idea because between 2.6-3.0.4 then there's a vulnerability?
maybe i shouldn't have mentioned any version numbers. that was just an example that came to mind.
what i meant was that when you downgrade you are going back to all the bugs that has been fixed already and there have been quite a lot of them it is not just this vulnerability. for example if you back to pre 2.6 and receive a transaction containing SegWit your wallet will get stuck synching since it can not parse it.
or if you try paying BitPay by clicking their link you will be stuck on "Please Wait...." for eternity. and a dozen more small bugs.

Still i am using Electrum 2.8.6 version and their is no problem in received bitcoin from any wallet as the sender is using the segwit compatible wallet address but i receive the bitcoin smoothly and even i am sending the bitcoin to other wallet and it is going smoothly. So i have not faced any problem in using it. But now i have installed the latest electrum wallet in my android wallet and it got installed smoothly. So now i can use the latest wallet in my android wallet without any problem. So now i am safe from all the old bugs in old wallet.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please help me clarify this! on: July 02, 2018, 09:13:23 AM
I have some UniCoin tokens in my Eidoo wallet ( ERC 20 compliant) butthe trouble is that I can't get it to the exchange(cryptopia) cos the wallet keeps giving me the invalid address notification any time I try to transfer the token. Please I need advice on this.

This coin is dead as it got dlisted from Cryptopia exchange also. Developer was not capable to carry out this coin project. So now dont worry of transferring of coin as it is a dead in your wallet
424  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 2018 the most crucial year for bitcoin? on: July 02, 2018, 08:45:35 AM
Bitcoin exceeded $ 10,000 in 2017. What's going to happen to Bitcoin in the coming year?

Bitcoin exceeded not only $10000 but it reached nearby $20000 in 2017 which was unexpected, which created a big news in the world and almost everyone started to discover bitcoin and cryptocurrency and started to enter in this field. Which created lot of money pouring in the market which made government afraid of getting economy destroy and lot of criminal activities also started to happen that is why government started to react on cryptocurrency and started to form a rules and regulation so that they can save their country peoples from scam and criminal activites. But it is good as now cryptocurrency will flow in correct and good way. Which is why it will take time to flourish more in coming days.
425  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum still to synchronize, 2.6.4 on: July 01, 2018, 08:43:13 PM
Who told that old version don't sync I am also using and it is perfectly workings. The latest version is having problem to install as it asking some files to download.

There are a few syncronisation bugs with the old versions that were discovered and fixed in the newer versions. Not to mention the JSON RPC vulnerability that was discovered.
ya I know that their is some problem in spectrum 2.8.3 version but if you are using with password then their is no problem. I tried to install latest version 3.1.3in windows 7 but their is!some problem and not installing even when I updated my windows with latest update. And now the latest version I am seeing is 3.2.1in the site
426  Economy / Exchanges / Re: exchange problems on: July 01, 2018, 08:34:03 PM
The main problem you will face is deposit and withdrawal in higher value. Their support system will be very poor. Apart from this some exchanges even manipulate the price of some coins and when they do this they will put the wallet of that coin in maintenance.

429  Economy / Economics / Re: Is wallet security important to use? on: June 30, 2018, 10:22:45 PM
I once read for security wallet,
this is just for discussion how to secure the wallet. I do not think there is a security system and there will be no theft in the wallet.

If you choose your wallet or phone software, you need to be extra careful! Remember that bitcoins are stored inside your device. If your computer or phone breaks down, your bitcoin is gone too! Thieves can also take your bitcoin if it gets access. Consider the following tips to avoid losses:

Perform regular backups regularly
Save the backup on another device like in flash or another computer.
Use the encryption feature
With encryption, each transaction requires a login with a password. This prevents thieves who manage to gain access to your computer.
Do not forget the password
Losing a password equals losing your money! Wallet does not provide a password forgot feature.
Learn more please learn how to secure your wallet here: http://bitcoin.org/en/secure-your-wallet

Do you guys have a better idea to avoid theft in the wallet?
Your Knowledge and Ideas will be more helpful if shared.

The main security you should follow is to use the wallet in the system where you don't use internet regularly. Don't download any exe file which offers big bonus but it contains virus which hacks computer and steals data's.
430  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum still to synchronize, 2.6.4 on: June 30, 2018, 08:30:15 PM
Hi guys,

I have installed electrum 2.6.4 on Ubuntu linux 18.04, I have bought bitcoin a view for testing and it is Unconfirmed at this moment for 2 hours.

At this moment electrum is still synchronising and nothing happends. What can I do or have to do, I am very new on this platform.

Best, Patrol

Why would you choose to install 2.6.4. I have a concern it didn't come from electrum.org, if not, you may lose/may have already lost your Bitcoin. Upgrade to the current version as TryNinja suggests, we're on 3.1.3, don't get it from anywhere but electrum.org/#download

I also suggest to do it from another device which is clean since there's chance that your current device is compromised and check the installer signature if needed.

Also, newest electrum version is 3.2.0

Who told that old version don't sync I am also using and it is perfectly workings. The latest version is having problem to install as it asking some files to download.
431  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: June 30, 2018, 07:30:53 PM
everyone is afraid if a bounty requires KYC procedures because the security of our data is still not guaranteed by the owner of bounty. our personal data may be misused by anyone so that a review of the KYC procedure is required. so that we as users can feel safe about the data we have sent to the company.

what you said is the main reason why users are afraid of giving the KYC documents. This ICO are also not legal out of 10 project only one or two are genuine balance are just pump and dump so when giving our data can be miss used.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WIll ETH pass BTC in 2019 ? on: June 29, 2018, 04:36:14 PM
I don't think Ethereum has that much potential to pass Bitcoin since Bitcoin has good market cap and familiar coin to everyone not only in crypto market but outside crypto market as well. There is very hard chance for any coin to pass Bitcoin because Bitcoin rules the crypto world and the trend of it is affecting all the coins so if it rises only the other alts can rise to their limit but cannot pass Bitcoin at any point of time.
Bitcoin already been mainstream and become the main coin inside crypto, if ETH wants to surpassed btc then it's needed to have more exposure and more mainstream ads, the success that bitcoin already gained inside and outside the market already established him to be the number one crpyo, with the time frame that OP's said, it will take a lots of time to win against the original one.

I dont think that even if time is given ETH cannot surpass Bitcoin until Bitcoin network dont get problem or hacked. Because the main reason of Bitcoin being mainstream coin is that it is not controlled by anyone and no one is holding a big junk of coin, so that the market cannot be crashed on it. Almost so many miners are running on btc to work properly. But ETH is controlled by developer and holding a big junk of coins which always will be danger if he sold everything and run away. So many time ETH developer has told that he is always ready to put his profit in real world not in crypto world.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: June 29, 2018, 04:32:03 PM
Japan joining the top 16 is an upset yet it would be hard for them to advance. But my bet will be Japan beating Belgium in this round. What do you guys think? Would it be the smaller Japanese beating the bigger belgians?

Nah dude there is no way Japan is going to beat Belgium. The Belgians are on a whole new level. This is probably the easiest free money among all the Round of 16 games haha. I will be betting live in order to catch better odds. But yeah this has free money written all over it  Grin
Fingers crossed  Wink

As per my experience when ever their is a game when we feel that this game the big team will win it, that day either it will go draw or they lose it so always keep a safe bet with the sure bet so that you should be not in loss. It is better that you take both team to score goal in japan vs belgium match which will be safe bet.
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Futures on: June 28, 2018, 02:27:47 PM
No one can tell what will be the future but in this year the maximum price of bitcoin can reach is $15k as on each bull run their is a selling pressure.
435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Robbery on: June 28, 2018, 06:39:38 AM
Dubai Police where able to catch the robbers because they stole AED coin and this coin is centralised , that is why their intelligence team where able to find the location through IP address and catched them. But It is nice to know that Police are solving and catching the robbers in crypto robbery. I think if they would have robbed the bitcoin then it would have been hard to catch them.
436  Local / Mining (India) / Re: Is Mobile Crypto Miner [Electroneum] is Worth it? on: June 28, 2018, 02:32:32 AM
You have to check first what is the trading price and see  what is the output, then only you can see that whether it is worthy or not. But the main thing is that mobile mining is not 4recommended as it won't be profit
437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: June 27, 2018, 06:04:04 PM
I can't believe it !!
Fun Fact : It's a look like German is continuing World champ tradition

France : World Champion 1998 , 2002 out from group phase.
Italy : World Champion 2006 , 2010 out from group phase.
Spain: World Champion 2010 , 2014 out from group phase.
German : World Champion 2014 , 2018 out from group phase.

Their are always this type of trends in sports and if you properly analyse then you can win a lot, so the trend is going on correctly Then their will be some old trends of the winner o f the cup.

I was thinking that germany and sweden will win and mexico will be out of this but south korea played smartly and frustrated germany and posted goal at the end when germany was totally exhausted.
438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What should I go for? on: June 27, 2018, 12:49:41 PM
I want to invest  $500 in crypto market. I have studied a little bit about the market. As I am not experienced in this sector, I am a little bit confused where should I invest?
I know my capital is too little.
Would it be wise to invest in Alt coins?
Or should I go for the ICOs?

Investing in altcoin or ICO are both risky as if you select a bad coin or bad ICO and invest in it then your investment can go down. So it is much  better that if you are investing for long term then better buy bitcoin and hold it in a desktop wallet because after 6 months you will surely get a good returns.
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don’t just buy a coin 🙈 on: June 27, 2018, 11:22:24 AM
Hi,

I see still a lot of people investing in worthless projects. My opinion..
Maybe you will have some profits in short term..

But every project need a good team, marketing, developers..
Not just a good idea..

In the long term many projects will fail..

Good luck with trading! 😁

Most of the people are just investing for short term and when the project is listed in exchange they just sell of what ever the profit they get so they dont see how much profit they get they just calculate in total how much profit averaged in a month after investing in several projects. This type of traders dont buy for long term and they are only the traders who are in profit as they dont love the coins and just play with it. Even the very good projects price are down more then 80% from their ATH. So it is clear that just take profit what ever coin you have invested and when their price is down then you can buy them from the profit you earned so that your investment should be safe for investing in next project.
440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook reversing bitcoin and crypto ban - just going to be more responsible on: June 27, 2018, 11:08:30 AM
Ya they have lifted the ban but only for the cryptocurrency which are listed and trading not for new ICO as still new ICO are banned to advertise in facebook. Read full information as they have initiated a form where a cryptocurrency have to produce the licence of project and give details about where it is listed and traded.

So i think it wont affect much on bitcoin price as the ban is still for ICO and initial coin offering is still not able to advertise in facebook.
