4201  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Not your keys, not your Crypto – Kucoin Hacked! $150m Stolen. on: September 29, 2020, 03:41:51 PM
Tankyou for your answer, i appreciate very much.
My stoled coins wort a little amount of 0,055 BTC.
The interesting think is that this amount of less than 600$ was totally in Kucoins, but the hacker did a withdrawal of BTC and in my account there is the evidence of the withdrawal but there is no evidence of the transaction Kucoin-BTC. More, i dont understand how the could have the trading password too.
The customer care told me that they will not want to use their insurance for my account and to go to local police.
I went to the police but they told me that they will not do investigation for  a so little amount of money.
I really think that Kucoin is doing an unfair think.
It looks shady since they already stated to refund all the stolen funds from the hackers with their insurance funds. It will be easily to pay since it's small amount, I don't see any reason why they refuse it.

You need to wait Kucoin enable the deposit and withdrawal option first, if your funds still gone you can open accusation with proper format in this Scam accusation board [1]

He mentioned his account was hacked and the funds were moved but this is not going to happen when the exchange's hot wallet hacked.People already cofnriemd that they can see their funds on the kucoin even after the hack so this is not something to do with Kucoin's hotwallet hack.

@gildatoscamimi1 can you exactly mention when your account got hacked and funds were moved?

One good thing is people didn't lose their money, and this is another lesson for the traders who never should store their cryptos on exchanges or better move to decentralized exchanges. What is the status of the exchange right now? They are back into the action with resolving their security flaw?

my coins gone.
My account was hacked and Kucoin told me the will not use the insurance.

Congratulations to kucoin, i will never invest in their exchange.
They have lost a customer.
We are talking about the exchange hack which happened few day before, but no exchange is responsible if you let your account hacked by someone though weak passwords or let th know your passwords.Don't let your funds to stay longer in any exchange, just keep moving them.
4203  Economy / Economics / Re: Enough with BITCOIN SAVE us or the economy on: September 29, 2020, 02:43:38 AM
People forget that bitcoin is just another form of currency but owned by none that is the real reason why people are expecting more from it.Bitcoin is not going to save anyone but one who understand the speculation and market condition then they can use to it to save themselves like what happened in the March 2020 when people sold mot of the cryptos but the real minds bought because they know this is the right time.

Many people are worshipping bitcoin like a god and they are believing on it no matter what happens.

Bitcoin is not perfect, in reality, it is still under development and it has a lot of areas to improve more to become a certified recognized currency in our society.

It is only effective when you are full time investing to it, if you know how to deal with the market, you are speculating well, making predictions and observing market conditions properly. Bitcoin is not for everyone, but it is for those who believe and hoping for its success. We can't deny that bitcoin has the potential to change someone's life.
Bitcoin is for everyone but not in the form of investment and it should be never used for investment purpose when we say it is a curreny.Bitcoin is perfect but it still got manipulations so the value will be shaky or totally unpredictable which could make the holders to change their mind too often.when someone doesn't have belief on what they are holding then they shouldn't be holding it, just sell and find something better like USDT. One good thing is people didn't lose their money

That remains to be seen. I really hope no one loses money. There have been plenty of "hacks" in the past where exchanges made promises initially, only to renege or disappear later on.
Kucoin CEO mentioned they have enough funds on their insurance funds to cover all these losses and they are prepared for this since 2018 but if the total hacked value is 150M then I really don't think they got enough money because Kucoin has decent amount of revenues every year but still they need 4-5 years of their total revenue to cover the loss of 150M.

4207  Economy / Economics / Re: Cares Act- How will this effect the economy down the road? on: September 27, 2020, 02:52:19 PM
For those of you not familiar with the Cares Act, here is a good guideline of everything that's involved- https://home.treasury.gov/policy-issues/cares

I work in the finance industry and in particular with retirement plans.  The cares act allows for individuals still employed and under 59.5 years of age to take withdraws from their retirement plans, up to $100,000, as well without the normal 10% penalty.  I am constantly getting calls from clients who are utilizing this feature.  In theory it's a good thing for those whom have encountered hardships due to Covid-19, however many are taking advantage of this and simply taking out money just because they can.

I foresee serious problems down the road with so many dipping in to their retirement, many of which are depleting their entire accounts.  The question I ask myself and everyone else..what are all the negatives consequences likely to come from this?  I think there will be all sorts of issues in terms of social security, homelessness, reliance on government assistance etc.
From Individual's perspective it is not really that bad, they need money badly for their survival or they simply taking the advantage of the condition so they can use that money into something productive which can give more money than those retirement plans. And I guess lot of them heard about investing due to covid 19 that is why some people trying to become an investor.
4208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Questions about transaction fees on: September 27, 2020, 02:03:08 PM

1. Because exchanges are making transaction for you but with the wallets you are making transaction on your own.

2. Exchanges have fixed fee structure and they always asks more fee than the current required fee because that is also a revenue sector for exchanges since the trading fees are not really high so they have to make something out of you in these way.
4209  Economy / Economics / Re: Internet shutdowns by governments are bad for corporate marketing on: September 27, 2020, 12:53:07 PM
Government don't shutdown the internet on the whole country, they are doing it in the particular region right? So not much of the economic activities are going to get affected and internet has been shutdown normally to stop the communication between local people and outside people so no one other than people there knows exactly what is happening and this is normally implemented in tension between military and locals.

You're asking a strange question because, for instance, I can't recall a case in the EU where the Internet was shut down. It would paralyze the banking system because it wuold stop ATMs and electronic payments and as a result paralyze the country. Even politicians know they'd be affected by not being able to pay for a hotel room or a rented car with their card, unable to buy plane tickets and fly home to their families. There's not going to be any Internet shutdown in any country that isn't run by a crazy regime like North Korea or Venezuela.
But it happened in India I guess and some other developing countries, even though they didn't shut down the internet over their entire country if they do then it will result into a chaotic situation as you described they just targetted particular region and lasted for months.
4210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VALORANT Betting on: September 26, 2020, 05:18:00 PM
the general definition of gamer you don't have to be earning from the game you play or to be a competitive player/streamer to be considered as a gamer. just putting effort to the games you play is enough to call yourself a gamer. but then again there are people who think that to be called a "gamer" you have to invest so much time, money, experience to be considered as a gamer which I think is full of BS.
No one is going to call us driver just because we know how to drive a car and no one is going to call as chef just because we know how to cook foods so it all depends on the profession terms so I just said gamer also should be used in that way.
4211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hacker blackmailing me and ask for money. Did you also get this email? on: September 26, 2020, 04:14:38 PM
Just don't be afraid of these kind of blackmail even if they got your video and accessed your account will not cause you any trouble unless you are a public figure/celebrity.But next time you should be careful when clicking any links, normally these kind of attacks were happening on skype video calls now they also got evolved. Cheesy
4212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ban and Unban Appeals on: September 26, 2020, 02:16:10 PM
One who was banned probably know the reason and no one is going to be banned here by mistake so that is permanent ban,no need to appeal and waste your time.
It is possible to get banned here by mistake, here is a recent example Incorrect ban for plagiarism - I copied my own text.

In this case user copied his own reddit comment and someone reported it, so he got banned. Weird thing is that he is still banned from what I can see, even though he proved that he is original poster of that reddit comment.
https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMining/comments/ggrje5/research_for_comment/

Imho, this looked like a pretty simple case and I expected ( and some other more experienced members) it to be sorted in his favor, but I guess mods have different opinion, as he never even got a response and all of this happened one month ago.

I meant appealing to that email address mentioned with the ban message never worked out, if he is the real creator of the content and still got banned means he is so unfortunate but still he can PM theymos about this issue because theymos often respond to newbie queries via PM.
4213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ban and Unban Appeals on: September 26, 2020, 07:48:00 AM
a quite observation from friends that have lost their account here claimed that sending the email to the account been provided is like pouring water into the sea. as described on the mail. it looks like a waste a time.

The below message is another proof that they don't respond to the emails quickly. Account ban is a sensitive issue especially if anyone is innocent and his account get bans by mistake.

Bump!

until this appeal get a response
For anyone who has ever gotten unban after like this appeal, how long time it takes? it helps a little

Waiting for a miracle or is there still justice here
AFAIK,no one ever received any response for their ban appeals, they only can find the real reasons so they can be satisfied with their ban at least. One who was banned probably know the reason and no one is going to be banned here by mistake so that is permanent ban,no need to appeal and waste your time.
4214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VALORANT Betting on: September 26, 2020, 05:50:46 AM
they streamers try the game because they do have money that is not being used much so they dare to do the gambling because they will get their money back from the advertising they get from them, so still be careful when using the money you have.
I am not going to use money to buy stuff inside a game and literally they are useless spending for outfits like things.Just try the game and just leave it there, if you are going to make a career out of it then its worth investing money but it may take longer time to get succeed and also success rate is too low.
I'm a gamer and sometimes I spend money on games because I enjoy it and a support to the developers for maintaining the game well. Spending stuffs isn't that bad and it is not applicable only for those who are making careers on the game. Those ingame stuffs are made for us especially the real gamers out there who are enjoying such game like this.
Everyone loves to play games but we can't call ourselves as gamer if we don't have some earnings out of the games we are playing like the competitive tournament player or the streamer but someone who just want to play and that's it has no real reason to spend but if you likes to do then there is nothing wrong with it but that's my opinion. But having pirated version of the games is not tolerated and should never be.
4215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: USDT wallet on: September 25, 2020, 04:05:22 PM
Hi. I wanna get started with USDT. Can someone please guide me which is best wallet in terms of security n usage ?

Just take a look at this : https://beincrypto.com/learn/how-to-buy-and-store-the-different-types-of-tether/

There are different types of ethers available so you need to know which tether should be stored on which wallet, wrong usage will result into complete loss.
4216  Other / Meta / Re: Why do everything security related gets posted in 'Beginners and guides'? on: September 25, 2020, 01:13:56 PM
Do we need a new section called 'security' or smth? Cause I don't know every new malware, about phishing mails, phishing apps gets posted in 'Beginners and guide' section, I personally don't find it posted there being relevant.

What is your opinion on this?

Beginners and Help section right then I don't find anything wrong with such kind of guides but some kind of information are not really new which already exists in other threads which should be avoided.
4217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VALORANT Betting on: September 25, 2020, 08:19:53 AM

Honestly I don't like this game, because it doesn't look like a real battlefield game like COD or PUBG. I played pubg pc but only the noob level game olay from my side.Watched lot of my favourite streamers doing valorant streaming and it looks like a kid game to me.
Well it is somehow fantasy like since characters have special abilities, unlike battlefield type games such as cs:go and the ones you said where every throwable can be bought by anyone, which gives it more strategic aspects, not that Valorant has none ofc, just that it's more specialized since each player can only choose one unique type of character per game.
Ohh, I see. I still yet to used to that game for that I need to experience it on myself I guess because only few streamers are doing it as fulk stream while all others are doing it only for few minutes since they are trying different games in regular basis.

4219  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: September 24, 2020, 05:09:17 PM
Have you heard the term Inflation before? It simple means more money has been printed every year while adds more in the circulating supply as a result of this the purchasing power of your money is going down every year.

I dont think so. Inflation occurs when there is too much money in supply than the goods.  The reason for the current increase in food prices is not the government's printing of money.  In my country, there is no money printing policy, but food prices have increased by a few percent, although not double.  This is because the availability of foodstuffs cannot fulfill the needs of the entire society so that it increases.
So basically your country is not printing any money? I guess this can't be true.Every country prints money but if it is printed in very less percentage then it may do some good stuffs but no country is having such strong economy now.

If there is high demand for food products in your country and your money didn't lose the purchasing power then your country can simply import food products from other countries so people can get for cheaper prices.
4220  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India plans to introduce law to ban cryptocurrency trading on: September 24, 2020, 02:48:38 PM
there is another committee reported that they should consider banning the cryptos in their country after extensive researches made but the one who lead the committee has no knowledge about blockchain or decentralization as per the individual queries made to the person. So basically they don't know what they are doing so made the bill in the pending stage for a while.
This point that I wanted to clarify, the court ruled the legality of Bitcoin (as an asset,) so I do not think that a platform like Binance will enter the Indian market if it does not have a green light to start activities.

Also, I do not think that the Indian legislator has the luxury of banning trading in cryptocurrencies due to the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis and the country's need for more foreign exchange.

I do not think that many countries will tighten the laws of currency trading and licensing platforms during the next year, especially India, due to the economic shocks caused by the pandemic.
I am not sure that court made the crypto trading is legal, they just removed they can't ban something when the country doesn't have any laws against it so still the condition is neutral and finance already entered into Indian market because they hope Indian government is not going to ban cryptos completely.

But anything can happen for no reason, they banned Chinese apps recently just over night so if someone influence the government to do the it will happen for sure.
