4201  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have $40,000 USD, Can I buy miners? on: February 17, 2017, 12:55:23 PM
there are a couple options...
Like Real-Duke mentioned: http://bitmain.com
But also: https://canaan.io/

These are the only two that still sell new miners that can actually make a profit IF you electricity rate is very good, your import tax is low, you can get a promotion AND you already have a suitable mining room/PSU's/network/...

However, depening on your electricity rate, there are other options:
- this forum.. I've seen a couple of members selling a big chunk of their farm at once
- same goes for aliexpress... I've seen chinese farms selling bulk miners

Offcourse, you're not nearly giving enough info to give you some solid advice. Can you at least provide us with your electricity rate, and possibly your country?
4202  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Strongcoin private key not decrpyting? on: February 16, 2017, 05:19:16 PM
I don't know much about the technical details but have you tried to download OpenSSL and decrypt ? there are a few tutorials out there (they have nothing to do with bitcoin though, but the rules applies in all cases)

That's what my next step is. I was hoping to find someone on here who has had to do this before. I'm trying to find a guide. I am 99.99% sure I have the right password so its appearing this is the only way to do it (I guess the site has issues).

EDIT: I really am positive I have the right password. This sucks.

Using google:
https://sourceforge.net/directory/os:windows/?q=aes%20256%20decrypt

I guess any of these tools, or the dozens of online decryptors should do  the trick (altough, i wouldn't trust websites, nor closed source tools to do this job)
4203  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Which PC/Computer Miner is Best? on: February 16, 2017, 05:09:27 PM
Only way you can make money is to buy a GPU. And you will make $1/per GPU/ per day.

But hurry up because in the future you will make $0.75/per GPU then $0.50/per GPU

We're in the bitcoin mining section, so i presume you're talking about sha256d hashing... I made a rather big effort to search google for sha256d benchmarks using GPU's.
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Non-specialized_hardware_comparison lists speeds lower than 1 Gh/s for single GPU's, and speeds lower than 3 Gh/s for "farms" of 6 GPU's. It is reported this farm draws a whopping 1200 Watts, not including the controller (i presume).

If you get the 6 GPU's + the PC for free, and you pay 1 cent/Kwu on a 0% fee pool, running this "farm" would make you:
http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator/?h=3&p=1200&pc=0.01&pf=0.00&d=422170566883.83700000&r=12.50000000&er=1045.02020000&hc=0.00

A negative profit of $104/year. If you got the power for free, it would make 70 cents a year at current diff, block reward and BTC price... So in the best case scenario (free hardware, free power, steady diff, steady price, 0% fee pool), you could potentially make $0.00186 /day mining a 6 GPU farm... As soon as you pay 1 cent/Kwu, mining bitcoin using a GPU will cost you about 30 cents/day in electricity while generating $0.00186 in profits.

Some hidden promotion around my website => i checked the signature, and it was valid

I also verified the PGP signed message used keybase.io, it was also valid Smiley
4205  Economy / Services / Re: [FREE] transaction fee checker on: February 16, 2017, 04:29:09 PM
I've added some new tools, and also made some improvements. My scripts no longer uses an external api. Instead i made sure every function used my own node's json-rpc connection to execute my scripts.

What is currently implemented:
  • An (in)sufficient fee checker
  • A Raw transaction decoder
  • A Sig checker
  • A Raw transaction generator
  • A Raw transaction broadcaster

At the moment, everything looks really ugly, and some extra functionality still needs to be implemented, but feedback is always welcome Smiley

To-do list
  • Create a member area for functions that cannot be executed anonymously:

    • a mailer where you can add transactions, and receive an email once the transaction confirms
    • a repeat-broadcaster where you can add raw transactions and my system will re-broadcast them hourly untill they confirm or get removed

  • give everything a nice design
  • extra tutorials
  • coupling the raw transaction generator to the fee checker, so you can easily create a doublespend for the unconfirmed inputs when the fee isn't high enough
  • extra security
4206  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BTC mining without external hardware? on: February 16, 2017, 04:10:50 PM
No, no it is not...

Look at my post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1783157.msg17790187#msg17790187
I took the effort of calculating how much you'd make using a PC with decent XEON CPU's and 6 really good GPU's running 24/7 at 100%... It was about $1/year...
Altcoin mining, probably, bitcoin mining no...
4207  Other / Meta / Re: Email address change on: February 15, 2017, 06:57:55 PM
Hi,

Sometimes when I changed my email address on my profile, I'd get suspicions that my account was sold.
How to change my address in the future and prove that I am the same person?

Thank you

Sign a message with a staked addres from before the email change when someone is suspicious when doing a deal.
It's not foolproof, but it's better than nothing
4208  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Which PC/Computer Minner is Best? on: February 15, 2017, 08:32:46 AM
Which PC/Computer Minner Software is best for BitCoin Mining?
I want to earn $5 a day...What kind of specifications I will need to earn this amount?

I have a Computer with-
Intel 4th.gen i5
12GB ram

If you can give me a good way I can buy GPU too.
But need atleast $5+ a day!
No, you cannot mine using a PC. I did the calculation many times, the last time was last week, you can read about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1783157.msg17790187#msg17790187

Bottom line: if you steal electricity AND hardware, and you have a computer with XEON processors and 6 GPU's running 24/7 at 100% you'll make $1 a YEAR at current diff, block reward and BTC price.

Then What I have to do? Buying Minners from Amazon?

How much do you pay for your electricity? If it's under 5 cents*, you have a decent shot at making some money while mining BTC using the latest generation ASIC, altough you need to do a lot of preparations and calculations to see if you can pull it off.
Under 7 cents* might still be profitable, altough it'll be harder to achieve ROI.

If you pay more, you can try your luck in altcoin mining with a GPU, but in this case, you should open a thread in altcoin mining.

* these numbers are for me personally. It's possible that you can make money while paying more than 7 cents/Kwu in case you're a risktaker, or live in a country without import tax, or already have most of the things you need for mining.

4210  Other / MultiBit / Re: Unintuitive UI on: February 14, 2017, 08:34:48 AM
Does anyone else think that the UI isn't very straight-forward and behaves kind of limited? There's not even an option to minimize to the tray. Or what about getting a list of all your generated wallet address rather than sifting through log, upon which you actually have to open up the entry to copy the address.

1) Do you guys recommend any modern btc clients?
2) Is 0.4.1 the latest version?

I personally think multibit has the most intuitive ui of all the wallets around. That being said, it has limited coin controll features.
If you like more features, but still want an spv hd wallet, you can try out electrum
4211  Economy / Services / Re: [FREE] transaction fee checker on: February 10, 2017, 12:01:18 PM
Thanks you for the fee checker '

The forum got a bunch of new (and existing) users complaining about the fact that their transaction was unconfirmed after x hours/days/....

the fee that blockchain info wallet recommend turns out to be also to low sometimes so confirms would take hours.

Indeed, that's why i created a tool like this... Instead of repeating the same old things every time a user didn't add enough fees, you can now point him to my url Wink

As you can read in the OP, this tool isn't meanth to ask a miner to insert your tx into the block they're currently working on. In fact, if my tool detects the fee isn't high enough, the page you linked to is shown as one of the possible sollutions

4212  Economy / Services / Re: [FREE] transaction fee checker on: February 10, 2017, 11:55:23 AM
I tested the site and it recommends 120 satoshis/byte but 100 satoshis are fine as per https://bitcoinfees.21.co/.

It would be better if you could add some videos on how to double spend and explain CPFP process. Here is one video that I found useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycq7O48aPvQ

Thanks for the input, i'll try to add some links to tutorials to the next version.
About the 100 satoshi's/byte => https://bitcoinfees.21.co/api/v1/fees/recommended still recommands 120 satoshi's/byte for a 90% chance of getting into the next 3 blocks, and 100 satoshi's/byte for a 90% chance of getting in the next 6 blocks.
I could probably show both... but 120 appears to be necessary for the fasted confirmation time at this moment.

Great one but I think there are already some explorers like : live.blockexplorer.com showing mining preference (which is a very cool stuff) and also recently I think blockchain also updated their explorer as it is now also showing fee/byte. It would be great if you can bring mining preference and confidence concept from live.blockexplorer.com into your site.

Also notification ringer when a bitcoin transaction gets confirmed and also maybe like link to transaction accelerator service would be cool.

Thanks for the feedback, to bad, but live.blockexplorer.com seems to be down at the moment, so i cannot check it out.
About the notification ringer: would it be best to change the browser's tab title, or do you mean sending an email or something?
BTW: the link to viabtc is already there, but i'll make it a bit clearer in the next version Wink
4213  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to use escrow on: February 10, 2017, 10:59:54 AM
Can you guide me where this services are being offered? Thank you.

This is a starting point:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0

But basically, a green trusted hero or legendary member that hasn't changed his email or password, hasn't got "real" negative feedbacks and can sign a message with an old, staked address *MIGHT* be a good escrow... It might be wise to ask for advice if you don't trust somebody that is offering his escrow services tough!

If you sell some digital files, you can use selly.gg, it does quite a good job

The OP isn't asking about an online platform to sell code, he's asking on how to find and use escrows.
4214  Economy / Services / [FREE] mocacinno's bitcoin tools (transactions, signatures, tutorials) on: February 10, 2017, 10:56:54 AM
LAST Edit: 10/03/2017 after a complete rewrite of the gui and the addition of many new functions!

Presenting my website, filled with, what i hope are usefull bitcoin tools for everybody not running a full node and/or lacking the time or knowledge to get the most out of their BTC .The tools are suited for most standard transactions, but some also work for other tx's:

Currently implemented:
  • a tool to check if your transaction is not getting confirmed because you didn't add enough fees
    • including a wizard to create a CPFP for a stuck transaction
    • including a wizard to create a RBF for a stuck transaction
    • including a basic tutorial on how to get a stuck transaction confirmed
    • shortlink http://www.mocacinno.com/feecheck.php?tx=[txid]

4215  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Recover Lost Bitcoin on: February 09, 2017, 02:16:03 PM
Hello Everyone,

Couple of years ago, I owned several bitcoins. I never used it to do any online transactions so I think it is still intact as of now. However, I can't remember my bitcoin address, but I think I can get my private key because I know I print it and so I have a hard copy of it. My question is, if ever I found the print out and get my private, how can I recover my lost bitcoin? Do I need to download something like bitcore core? what would be the steps needed in order for me to recover it?

Advance thank you for those who can answer my question.

Depending on the format*, you can either import it directly into many different wallets**. If a certain wallet doesn't support
importing private keys, it usually allows you to sweep them.

* https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Private_key
** Bitcoin core, electrum, bitcoin wallet for android (sweeping only),...

For example, using electrum, you would just download and install electrum, run electrum, when presented with the wizard that is run the first time chose "Standard Wallet" => "use public or private keys" => paste your private key => you're done...

In bitcoin core it would be something like Installing core => syncing core (waiting) => go to help => debug window => importprivkey yourPrivateKeyInWalletImportFormat "TheLabelThatIWant"

bitcoin wallet for android (sweeping only): IIRC, there was a button that allowed you to sweep a paper wallet, you need to convert your private key into a QR code tough.
4216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Possible to Mine Bitcoins Using Desktop? on: February 09, 2017, 01:24:07 PM
For everybody answering yes, yes but, yes with special software, yes with x number of PC's,... i leave following calculation:

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Non-specialized_hardware_comparison

1 PC with a new CPU and a decent GPU, having both the CPU (all cores) and GPU running 100% for mining, the above link quickly shows that the hashrate will be <3Gh/s (GPU) + <0.2Gh/s (CPU).

It should be obvious that there is overhead, and that not everybody will run a PC with XEON's + an AMD 5870x6 GPU, but let's assume we have 10 PC's with such hardware. The total hashrate would certainly be lower than 50 Gh/s.

Let's assume you're stealing the electricity from the cybercafé...  Tongue, so you have no extra costs... Now let's punch in the numbers at a calculator:

http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator/?h=50.00&p=2600.00&pc=0.00&pf=1.00&d=422170566883.83700000&r=12.50000000&er=1042.04050000&hc=0.00

As you can see, even in this utopian example, at current diff, block reward and price, you would make a measly $11 A YEAR running 10 PC's equipped with XEON CPU's and a really good GPU 24/7 at 100% (both CPU and GPU).

Now, let's conclude this topic by saying: NO, there is no way you can mine bitcoins using your computer... Not if you have the hottest gaming PC around, not if you steal resources from a cybercafé, not even if you install a cpu miner in your schools computer lab. The only thing that will happen is that you'll get suspended/fired/sued.

The only way to mine BTC is having a really, really cheap electricity rate, and using the latest ASIC gear. Everything else is a waste of hardware, power and money.

the txid is 3f9a1a434f5232e09c6f6f6cdcbb499ded19a70a2ecd0f68f2bc3dd94fd51a55
can I cancel the transaction? I am using multibit HD 0.4.1 on windows 7 64 bit

This transaction is confirmed:
https://blockchain.info/tx/3f9a1a434f5232e09c6f6f6cdcbb499ded19a70a2ecd0f68f2bc3dd94fd51a55

It was confirmed on the 26th of januari. It is impossible to cancel such a transaction. The fact that a transaction that has a couple confirmations is irreversible is one of the main features of bitcoin.

This will be helpful to accelerate some transactions this site will help you.  https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/  please update me if done.Nowadays Bitcoin transactions is very slow because of trafficso please use a high fee next time.

The OP is talking about this transaction:
https://blockchain.info/tx/7b41cec5e2db41aed6985e6d3f7cdacf6f60431ebe383ba09e096cc82f5e67a4

It's 1993 bytes and has a 10.000 satoshi fee. That's 5 satoshi's per byte. ViaBTC only accepts transactions with a +10 satoshi per byte fee.

His options are limited:
1) waiting (like discussed in his first thread, linked in the OP)
2) doublespending the unconfirmed input for the transaction (like discussed in his first thread, linked in the OP)
3) paying a miner to include the tx in their block (like discussed in his first thread, linked in the OP)
4) RBF or CPFP

OP: please close this thread and use the original thread to post updates... Asking help in two different threads will become very confusing for everybody.

hello,

I have problem https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1781214

How make double spend transaction? (use php script or command line)

need help.
Thanks

After reading the post you mentioned (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1781214), it looks like achow101 already did all the work somebody can humanly do to help you.
The only thing left to do is to sign the raw transaction he has prepared for you, and broadcast it to the network.

achow101 even told you that he's willing to broadcast the transaction for you if you post it on the forum.... Don't know what more anybody can do to help you...

Here's the output i get when i decode his transaction:

Code:
bitcoin-cli decoderawtransaction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

* The simplest way to verify if everything is correct would be to look up all the transactions in the "vin"-section, look at the "vout" of each "txid". vout 0 of txid abc means the 0-th (1st) output of transaction abc.
Summarise all the outputs, write the sum down
Then look at the "vout" section of the json, look at how much output will be sent to each address, summarise all these numbers and substract it from the sum calculated in the previous step. The difference between the two numbers is the fee.

7) Deposits through wire transfer. Money hold for more than 1 month. It can be removed by submitting a ticket and providing us with the scans of verification information:

I'd say point 7 is what you need to read.

They have no case to answer.

AFAIK, the OP did say he is fully verified, so i can only assume he already sent scans of his verification information?
If the OP did indeed miss some verfication step, i still think it's rude of BTC-E to just close a ticket, or delete it alltogether... They should just point out to him which info he needs to submit to release his funds.
