4201  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Genesis Mining ticket open for more than 7 months on: December 03, 2017, 05:57:12 PM
I had known about their scammy tactics since I've read a post by one of their clients whose lifetime mining contract got shut down because they said it was no longer profitable.
They lured a guy with a lifetime promise, took his money, and in less than 6 months kicked him out saying it's over. No more money for you Sir and no compensation GTFO.
That's what you should be expecting every time you see a cloud mining ad.

Why did you buy a contract in the first place without reading opinions about theme on the forum? By March there had to ba plenty of negative comments here including the one I've just mentioned.
4202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teen investing $1,000 .... What should I do ? on: December 03, 2017, 05:48:10 PM
Thankyou for your message, I agree that it is important to invest when young as if we loose then it is not 'a big deal' compared to when you have responsibilities.

What coins do you personally hold for the long term ? Im thinking going 40% on BTC, 25% Ether, 25% LTC and 10% on mixed others ?

I don't see any future in Ether. I'm holding BTC, LTC, and some BCC in case it got pumped again. I'm currently looking for an interesting altcoin to put my money into. ADA is looking promising. It's difficult to pick an altcoin that isn't a pump and dump shitcoin. All dev teams are feeding us with promises, like Ripple team did and then nothing...
4203  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do we need a global currency? on: December 03, 2017, 05:36:32 PM
I think we don't need it. Exchanges have worked out for centuries and I really doubt one currency would become accepted worldwide. This would require all governments to agree on something and since many countries have animosities it would never happen. Best case scenario a group of countries that are already working together, like the US or NATO could agree to a common currency. Why would they though? Introducing a new one would weaken the other.
4204  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are the biggest problem of teenagers nowadays? on: December 03, 2017, 05:25:02 PM
Addiction to social networks in my opinion. They are all into that not knowing how to communicate with others without emojis and filters.
And to technology and I mean bad technology like computer games and streams. I know people who spend half of their day playing games and then when they can't play because they're making food, eating or getting to bed they're watching other people play. Living like that makes you unable to achieve anything in life. Young people are like zombies nowadays and a great example of this was when that pokemon game came out. They were trespassing, walking in front of moving cars and doing other stupid things.
4205  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] a way to clean up those junkers and farmers? on: December 02, 2017, 03:07:12 PM
Newbie can't post at all, only can report junkers (Confirmed by mods first) on the forum to earn points so he/she can post something to ask or gain ranks. You can put some points or karma or something for it. And set the limit you must reach first so you can earn 1 post..

Example: Newbie can only read some section and only can report with certain range of time and gain 1 point if it get confirmed.
And a reported post going get some mark on it that it has been reported by who and awaiting for mods confirmation.

This would:
Discourage new users as all public forums allow you to post something from the start, even if it's only in a single section.
Give the staff a lot of additional work as a lot of these reports by newbies would be useless. You can't expect someone who just made an account to start accurately reporting others.
Encourage newbies to spam reports to get it over with and be able to start posting. If you report 100 posts some of them will be accurate, so why bother to even read them? If someone would get banned for report spamming it's not a big deal since the account was new.
Make high level accounts worth even more and trading flourish.
4206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holder's dilemma on: December 02, 2017, 02:37:09 PM
Hey guys, I've decided to ask you - what whould you do in this problemmatic situation?

Suppose you have some bitcoins (let's say 22) and you bought them / got them a few years ago very cheap, and now you see it's price and.... what to do?!! Will you take the profit and go away, or sit and hold further? Suppose you're not going to buy more. But when to sell?

You have to ask yourself what it is that you want to achieve. If you need money now to start your own business, go to school, move to another town or country you need rethink it all. Would it be better to take a loan or ask your family for money and keep Bitcoins because they can be going up in the coming years or sell it all.
I'm holding because I'm not in need of money right now. Sure I could buy myself a nice car with my coins but I don't really need it. I'd rather see my investment grow.
4207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Malware Cryptoshuffler on: December 02, 2017, 02:27:24 PM
It enters in the form of attachments, messages, emails. It just remains idle behind the screen and when it notices that the user is trying to copy paste a crypto currency wallet address,it immediately alters the ddress to the cryptoshuffler wallet address. Its very difficult for the user to identify the change in the address since the cryptoshuffler chooses the address much similar to the address from its pool.

So the only thing a user has to do is avoid opening spam emails, attachments that come from unknown sources, and remember to verify the address after copying it. Is that it? Every single cryptocurrency user should know that. These are the basics.

Even a full format or factory reset might not be useful.Hard drives have to be cleanly wiped out.

Do you mean zeroed? I haven't really seen a virus that would sit on your HDD and wouldn't disappear after formating it. Zeroing is used only in cases when you want to avoid future data recovery. If the virus survives formatting it would suggest that it hides in the BIOS.
4208  Other / Meta / Re: Satoshi IP Address on: December 02, 2017, 01:47:55 PM
ip address are not accurate. you cant locate or identify someone just by basing or looking on their ip address because you can always get a random ip address everytime you restart your modem or internet data therfor its riddiculus and totally impossible to find the real satoshi nakamoto.

That happens only when you have a dynamic IP and not everyone does. Moreover, dynamic switching is done in a certain range, meaning that it's still possible to locate you if needed. Switching IP and using a VPN will only you only from internet trolls who would like to mail you excrements or threats.
4209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC - Buy it OR mine it... on: December 01, 2017, 02:04:08 PM
Buy it. I think it's the easiest and safest way to generate income. You can divide the money between exchanges to minimize the risk and start trading.
A skilled trader can double the money in a month. Of course you'll never be able to make only good decisions, sometimes you'll lose some but it's not that hard to make 10% a month. Following some pros on tradingview can help you a lot, but don't think they're 100% right. Last week most of them were expecting a Bitcoin correction and it didn't come. Instead we went from 9 to 11K in a day  Roll Eyes Leave the mining to people with a lot of money, space, and cheap power.
4210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the Bitcoin Bubble Will Pop on: December 01, 2017, 01:58:46 PM
There's no Bitcoin bubble, get it in your heads and analogy, although commonly used, doesn't offer the best predictions. If you lived by this rule and you got hit by a car in a spot you'd never go there again because you'd think the chances of it happening to you twice are high. They are not!
MtGox has caused a crash, doesn't mean a troubled exchange will cause a similar crash ever again! It's the same with other things people are worried about.
4211  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Top exchanges on: December 01, 2017, 01:52:57 PM
cryptopia and bittrex are highly recommended because they have been open long time before new market release

I would avoid bittrex at the moment. They're acting weird (freezing accounts, their verification isn't working, withdrawals not working).

The best exchange depends on where you are located. If in Europe try Bitstamp or Kraken (kraken has more alts). If in the US try Gemini, GDAX or Poloniex.

I have used them just 2 days ago to buy some coins. I have an account with basic verification and haven't need anything more for months, although I heard some users were forced to verify. I sent the coins to my wallet and it was almost instant, took less than 30 min, so IMO bittrex is working just fine. I have also been using poloniex that people often give negative reviews and it was just as smooth.
4212  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining ? Tell me About it please on: December 01, 2017, 01:46:52 PM
Can't you really use the search function? Cloud mining is fake mining where you buy a contract that has nothing to do with the coin being mined by the company that offers the contracts. you can buy an ETH contract and the company never mines ETH, they mine a different coin and then convert their profits into ETH and manipulate your income so that it takes months for you to get your money back.
4213  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Democracy or Dictator ship ? on: December 01, 2017, 01:41:35 PM
I choose democracy, because democracy provides an opportunity for everyone to be able to lead the country based on election results.  Unlike With democracy, monarchy government  power transition based on the descendants of the leader alone, In this case, the prince will inherit the throne of the king

As long as it's not fake democracy like the one in Russia. A fake democracy gives you a feeling that you can vote, that you can change something, that you're in control while in fact you have completely no influence. The voting takes place only to appease the crowd and the decisions are being made regardless of the public opinion. In such case dictatorship is much better. You at the very least know what you get.
4214  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you want to live? on: December 01, 2017, 01:21:54 PM
I'd give anything to be immortal. I know for some people it may look like a curse having to watch all your loved ones die but I'd really like to see our future. Know what we as mankind will manage to achieve in 100 or 200 years. Our lives are so short that we never manage to achieve anything. We work hard to get some money and when we do our lives are basically over as we're too old to have fun like we used to.
4215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [News] Analysts started talking about Bitcoin for 14,000 USD on: November 25, 2017, 03:18:19 PM
Not more than 2 weeks ago there were threads about analysts expecting Bitcoin for $10000 and now it's 14. Are those the same analysts? If so they're some funny guys changing their opinion every couple weeks and trying to create a new gold rush. Remember guys that you shouldn't trust the judgement of others, it's your money on the line!

At the same time, the CME exchange still denied the start of trading on December 11th bitcoins futures. Information on the launch of derivatives on December 10 and the beginning of trading on December 11 was published on the exchange's website by mistake, CME reported

Imagine what will happen if they cancel due to some regulatory issues. A mass hysteria Cheesy
4216  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-25] Iran Welcomes Cryptocurrencies on: November 25, 2017, 02:57:24 PM
With Iran the situation is always unclear. They used to be very open to technology and changes before the revolution. I'm sure those people are still there, just forced take a more reserved stance. They could really benefit from accepting cryptocurrencies.
4217  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-24] These maps explain how much power Bitcoin mining consumes globally on: November 25, 2017, 02:40:43 PM
Those maps really don't tell us much. It's obvious that less industrialized countries with no infrastructure will not consume a lot of power. Just compare the red ones with the green ones. In European countries (red) you have lights on every street, giant screens displaying commercials, neon signs, computers in every house. In the green ones like some african countries people are running generators to light the buildings and there's almost no street lights or anything like that. Why would anyone need street lights on dirt roads anyway. Bitcoin mining will always look enormous compared to some of these economies, where people are still cooking food over open fire and getting their water from a well.
4218  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you going to pay taxes? on: November 25, 2017, 02:28:24 PM
Are you going to pay taxes on your Bitcoin profits?

Suppose you make a million dollars. Suppose you have already made a million dollars. Are you going to hand half of that cash over to the government? Of course, this is assuming you convert your coins into federally recognized cash. If your only intention is to amass a huge supply of Bitcoins, the question does not apply to you.

You're supposed to pay income taxes. It seems rather easy to get away with not doing it, though... at least in this case.

Why would anyone choose to give up half of his money? In most countries you're supposed to pay taxes equal to 15-25% of your income. If I were being forced to share 50:50 with my country I'd give up citizenship and move out ASAP, since there are countries that take only 10% or less. Why would I want to live in a country that's treating me like a slave?
4219  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Master Degree Important? on: November 25, 2017, 02:23:41 PM

As an employer I would choose 3-5 years of job experience from the industry over master degree anyday.
In my country job experience is more important, however some jobs require a minimum education. It is always however a bonus to have a master degree when competing with other job seekers on the labor market. That is also the reason why I am doing master thesis even though I do have a job and do not need (at the moment) a higher education. Just in case - you never know. (its free in my country, of course).

It's just like you're saying. I have an MA and I know people with more than 1 degree and most of them had trouble finding a job. Nobody cared about their education.
Nowadays 2 things count when you're applying.
1. Whether you're referred by someone.
2. Your experience

A degree is important only when only people with none of the above have applied and even then many companies would rather postpone the recrutation than take a random person based on education.
4220  Other / Politics & Society / Re: For how long will you hodl bitcoin? on: November 25, 2017, 02:17:37 PM
I think that each of us have to analyse the situation and decide. For example if you are a poor person, in debt, with very little money to live by, holding forever would be a suicide. You don't need to save up when you're sick or starving.
For me with my current number of coins nothing below $10k would be satisfactory. Even that $10k would seem like a low price to sell. That's because I have a place to live and some savings, so I can wait. If Bitcoin goes down to like $3k I'll still be in a great shape. For me it's an investment that I'll be spending when I'm much older and bored.
