This thread is a nice representation of the world outside: any kind of people is showing up here. Don't you have anything to do out there?

holy crap

Why would a tax on the super rich cause riots? And didn't the us have some tax bracket like that in the past? If I remember correctly it was even higher for the wealthier.

Insane tax rates are not going to work. The super-rich will just migrate to some other country, taking their assets and businesses with them. Millions of American citizens will be left without a job, and this will cause social unrest.

You are right when you say that in the past the tax rates were high. For example, in 1944 the tax was 94% for those in the top-most slab (annual income greater than $200,000). However, such high rates can't be implemented today. It is not practical.

I think the opposite actually. It is much easier than in 1944. State's control is bigger than before, if the State really wants could collect a ridicolously huge amount of taxes. It can be done easily but this is not the right time... yet.

This is the leitmotiv. Trump sucks but he's in any case better than the other one.
I have no more doubts he's going to be the next US Chief.

4225  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Superbug discovered in America that resists ALL known antibiotics... on: May 31, 2016, 06:22:24 AM
This was bound to happen, sooner or later. For the last few decades, antibiotics have been used indiscriminately all over the world. Rather than using these drugs when there is an absolute necessity, the physicians have been prescribing them even for minor diseases such as common cold. And even worse, meat producers are also using them in huge quantities, resulting in traces of antibiotics being passed on to humans during the consumption of food.

If we could have detailed analysis about how much poison is flowing in our veins there will probably be mass suicides everywhere.

Lead, mercury, aluminium, arsenic, dioxin, electromagnetic pollution, air pollution etc. the list is long as you all know.

I personally try to do as much exercise as possible plus I use some plants' derivatives, algae and other stuff to clean my body (and my mind).

I suggest you to try coriander, chlorella and spirulina together. It's very good to take all the heavy metal shit out of our body.

Do your own research.

and USD is used in the rest 97% ..

Poor USD!!!  Grin

Come on, let's not forget other currencies like EUR, GBP, etc.
So they split the cake together with the United States Dollar.
4227  Other / Archival / Re: Which one is better for you? Centralized wallet or decentralized wallet? on: May 31, 2016, 06:11:37 AM
For everyday use (i.e. low BTC amounts) I think is necessary to use easy syncing wallets. I can't always run bitcoin core when I'm out. Not considering cold storage and such.
So I would happily use bitcoin core everyday but for my funds security it is better to divide my btc into more parts.

I am quite curious about France. It's been a few years now that they're struggling in major international competion even if their history speaks differently. I see tonight a possible easy win for France but I wait for more inputs to understand whether thay can be a good candidate for winning euro 2016 or not.

More than 90% of exchange volume is happening in China.
Almost 80% of bitcoin mining is in China.

https://bitcoincharts.com/charts/volumepie/

Where's the most "powerful national firewall"? In China.

That's hilarious, by the way.
4230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-05-29]Technology Used By The DAO Contains Critical Flaws on: May 30, 2016, 06:20:20 AM
Very good article. I was looking for something like what it said in there. I noticed that while testing eth with some friends. Yes, at the moment is not at all bulletproof and it can be really bad if implemented, let's say, in some NGO's or similar.
Quote
Some investors may be looking for ways to pull their ETH funds out of the DAO.
I would rephrase: some investors WILL be looking...
4231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International Games Prediction Thread on: May 30, 2016, 06:14:57 AM
It is 1-0 for Italy , as I expected this match won't have a lot of goals , Italy play defensive match and Scotland doesn't want to recieve many goals , it may ends under 2.5 goal .

nice call I hit Italy also.

I wasnt impressed with either team really, maybe just cause its a friendly
but both sides seemed fine with a 1-0 result lol. Slow match

I don't think Italy will go far at Euro 2016. They have probably the best defence but in terms of scoring they are behind any other major team.
I mean they could win every game 1-0 and still go to the final but that sounds crazy.
4232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 30, 2016, 06:06:28 AM
I sold at 560$ on finex then waited for 570$ and then when it jumped back to 525 I bought in again. It was clear to me the most resistant price level could have been on 570$. It still is actually.
4233  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-05-27] Greece Government Approves New Strategy To Ban Cash on: May 29, 2016, 04:55:07 PM
Today less than 10% of money is real: 90% is digital. We don't see it and most of the time we don't know how this whole thing works.
To ban cash is the last effort before we could be all marked, profiled and who knows what else. Scary if you ask me.
4234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 29, 2016, 10:10:55 AM
Why's the price gone back down? Is it because when ethereum goes up bitcoin goes down and the ethereum dump is over now, or is ethereum doing a dead cat bounce?

I'm no ethereum supporter but eth is really far from being dead. When BTC price moves it's like a tsunami: it's a matter of big numbers. ETH still does not have that power. This is why, so far, all altcoins are generally traded more when btc price is dormant.

4236  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-05-28] Bitcoin Will Help Boost Ecommerce Growth In Europe on: May 29, 2016, 10:00:31 AM
It would be wise to explore alternative payment options as well, and Bitcoin can play a prominent role in this regard. With its transparent nature, there is an immediate trust factor. Transactions fees are paid by the sender, leaving more breathing room for the merchant. Plus, Bitcoin payments are globally accepted, which make them a perfect solution for ecommerce in Europe and beyond.

http://www.newsbtc.com/2016/05/28/bitcoin-boost-ecommerce-europe/

Interesting news but this seems directly connected to the one that says that the EU wants to have a closer look at bitcoin. So from one side this seems a way to boost the online economy, from the other more control and regulation want to come into being.

Needless to say that btc is a very strong competitor of the euro: they do the same thing as a currency but btc is much better.
4237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International Games Prediction Thread on: May 29, 2016, 09:47:48 AM
I think Italy will win tonight: my pick is 2-0

They need a win to get a boost before EURO 2016. Last Games of Azzurri were really bad so there's a need for them to start playing well again.

2-0 pays really nice, give a try
4238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN/DISCUSSION] Silk Network: Silk, DarkSilk and Weaver on: May 29, 2016, 09:41:56 AM
The price held steady for a long time: now it has eventually gone back to a more "natural" one. This gives more people the chance to jump in before it is too late.
4239  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 29, 2016, 09:38:05 AM
Someday around the end of April I said on this thread that we could have seen 600$ by the end of May. Damn I was close. In any case I predicted a pump.
I still think this is simple and pure manipulation (as usual) but what it concern me now is June.
We saw knc miner shutting down just before the halving. we are close to that and this creates a lot of uncertainty.

If you got some profit put some stop-loss in place and enjoy the ride. It might be the good one.
