4221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com announces Israel Adesanya as their Global branded ambassador on: April 06, 2023, 07:12:22 AM
@Pierre 2
Although everything you had said is your right as an opinion,
Adesanya did lose his title while being their ambassador so there is nothing really to be proud of in this agreement.
He use to mention them and show bets from the site in his freestylebender videos on his channel but since then, nothing.
It is sort of like with any celebrity that takes on a partnership role with any company:
They get paid to promote the company in this case the cryptocurrency casino but then after that they only did it for the money.
They are not dedicated to them in any shape or form once they get paid. ie: drake: money stopped, no more streams! He is using MGM to make bets now

Heard of Floyd Money Mayweather?
He shills 40 different brands so what? Floyd doesn't gives a rats ass about them, because as soon as the funds hit his bank account he says "xxxx, who da f#(k is that?!".
Sad but true. You'd rarely find athlete sponsors who dedicate a good amount of their time and effort into looking as if they really care about the product they are advertising. These sponsors should know this by now. They'd only ever follow what the contract entails and would rarely go above and beyond it since there's no incentive in giving a damn about the sponsor, other than I don't know, under the table favors in the future, but that is a rare case. Adesanya, Mayweather, Mcgregor, every A-list athlete wouldn't give a fuck about their sponsors beyond the conventional shoutouts and product endorsements, and I think that's fine, i don't wanna root for a sell-out after all.
Money is key here, and it's just a mutual agreement in which you are using your fame and reputation (celebrity) to promote a brand for money. This is purely a contractual agreement that is what gives celebrities the most money they have. And this could end in either mutual agreement or otherwise depending on the discretion of either or both parties.

However in most cases, when popularity dwindles, the company might change their mind, especially when winners are becoming losers or less famous. And often at times, it might be that they just one to try another famous person which is understandable.

In other words, both parties are doing it for the money.
4222  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: April 06, 2023, 06:58:03 AM
The distinct line between wealthy people and struggling people is that the former has the fortune and resources at his disposal and believes in buying an asset and investing his money to make more money. So, the asset is what covers all for them, which is more than savings as the asset generates more money over time.

While the latter saves because of their little resources. They might be saving for a project or financial plans, they just don't have an option if they want to excel. But this would stop the moment they are wealthy because, at that stage, they will only be taking money out of their investment which I believe is better than saving.
4223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do new online casinos struggle? on: April 05, 2023, 01:42:32 PM
Of course, the casino business is becoming more competitive, hence the need for the new ones to have enough money to beat some of their competitors. This has to do with a very rigorous advertisement and promotion, or should I call it aggressive ones, and it needs a lot of money. Nonetheless, the advertisement should start even before the inception of the casinos, and this should go forward to the time it's introduced and afterwards to sustain it.

Aside from that, bonuses, perks and incentives in various categories should be considered. And of course, it should be better than the one in the prevailing market in terms of conditions and amount.

This should continue until the casinos get their stand, and they must add sincerity and integrity to their doings to keep their customers.
4224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How honest and transparent are casinos? on: April 05, 2023, 12:25:14 PM
Since most of the casinos were out to make business and serve gamblers right, i believe they will try every possible best to make this their major target through customers satisfaction, if they aren't reliable or being honest, gamblers will not refer them, use them or maintain a loyalty patronage with them anyone, so many will like to keep to their integrity with the gamblers in other to keep running except for those whose sole agenda was to scam gamblers and attack them by depriving them some rights.
If a gambling site engages in such activities, they will fail to qualify the site for the gamblers. Gamblers will lose trust in them for a small amount of money and their reputation will be greatly damaged gambling authorities would never expect this situation. Established casino platforms will never want to take this risk. But if it becomes normal for a site to keep this secret then gamblers will have nothing to do. Furthermore, a gambler's slightest doubt can lead to a big loss for that particular platform.
What @Dunamisx explained is an excellent point. It's a thing to attract a customer but another thing to keep them with you. The satisfactory services of a casino are key, and they should be fair in all their dealings. The internet is viral these days and no casino should see it as business as usual in terms of cheating. They should be up and doing and know that they can never go scot-free scamming people all about.

It will only ridicule them in the end and they might lose their business to better ones.

4226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I hardly have up to $100 again in all my fait bank accounts since I joined BTT on: April 05, 2023, 09:31:58 AM
I'm sure you did not read my post insightfully, even the subsequent ones have successfully explained all this. Having almost all my money in BTC or other investments does not stop me from accessing them when I need them. Despite that I have other investments aside from Bitcoin, I easily exchange my money from BTC to fiat in a matter of fewer than 10 minutes in most cases. So, if I need money today, I will definitely convert, it is as easy as that.

Also, the $100 you underlook is big enough to sustain me and my family for a week in my country if there is no celebration or buying something that requires more money, which happens rarely.
What this means is that you keep all your money in Bitcoin and in all your fiat banks there is no balance up to $100.
If so, I really appreciate what you have done because you can confidently and be able to store all your money in Bitcoin or other crypto.
It is very rare for an investor to be able to save all their money in the assets they are investing in. The average investor only invests 50-70% of the money they have.
A little advice from me to keep and always save your assets in Bitcoin because surely one day you will get very valuable results from this storage. If there is an urgent need, it would be better to attract investments other than Bitcoin.
It seems you are getting something wrong here. My expression is the fact that instead of keeping my extra cash in banks and wasting it, they are wisely been managed in Bitcoin. By virtue of this, I don't have as much as $100 in all my bank accounts.

This doesn't mean that all my assets are in Bitcoin, but the ones that were supposed to be in the bank are kept there. In other words, Bitcoin is now my major bank that gives me more interest (gain as some might call it).
4227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could have Satoshi faced if he made himself known from the beginning on: April 05, 2023, 09:08:51 AM
The threat is definitely there though I don't think Satoshi has really thought about it. I don't know if Satoshi actually had any special plans to maintain his anonymity in the first place, but the odds ratio seems low since I can assume that maybe 1 or 2 users on this forum know him. Besides, I didn't expect only Satoshi to be involved in this big project, and that's why some assumptions say that Satoshi is the group of people behind bitcoin.
You never can tell, this is a matter of extreme privacy and anyone on the forum might not know him, not even @theymos. And truly, Satoshi can never be a single person, and yet the pseudonym is worth it and will always represent the group well no matter how many members they have.

For sure he/she would already taken by government or someone has a bad intention on him. There are a lot of negative aspects if he  reveal his identity before that is why he is very smart to not disclosed any information as it is not only his life would be affected also with his relatives and it was catastrophe on them. I am just also curious right now if the possibility that he is just lurking here in the forum or how old si he now and what he is doing. But where ever satoshi was I am thankful of him
Threats would be waiting for Satoshi if he made himself known from the beginning.
I'm very sure that banks will be part of what would be sponsoring the threat, that is even as the government of many countries would kick against it. Bitcoin was never suspected much at first, but the clampdown would have been much as it gains traction among people. Still, I give the US kudos for staying with cryptocurrency, it would have been a different story if they didn't.
4228  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Let's not be too judgemental about CZ (Binance) on: April 05, 2023, 08:57:23 AM
It also doesn't mean that the story is real, I mean we can clearly see that there are a lot of FUDs and attacks happening on Binance lately, and there's no surprise after the crash of FTX, Binance was probably the next target, now we can't really be sure if who is the one targeting it, whether it's FTX behind the scenes, the large authorities or someone unknown.

We can't really be sure if all these stories are true and aren't simply a part of a master plan to take Binance down. I don't think that it can be a coincidence that every couple of days, new bad news comes out about Binance.
I'm with you on this, Binance has created more enemies for itself by the moves it made against FTX and other exchanges. I will not blame anyone working against it under the shadow, and this might not be FTX entirely but might be the rival companies that want the fall of Binance. As much as we must stay neutral in their cold war. Binance itself is not exonerated from many gimmicks and shady dealings. So, I don't trust the company, CZ only understands the business better which keeps it running.

We know these lastest coordinated attacks should certainly concern the whole cryptospace industry.

Concerned, and exactly now?
Why would they be concerned when for years I've only heard how the government is fighting crypto is sabotaging it and here we are, with BTC still standing and nothing really harmful happening to it?
Might be that CEX =/= crypto =/= BTC or that just all that drama was as fake as this one?

SEC taking down piece of garbage that has done a lot of harm to BTC, that has brainwashed thousands, that has taken a piss on the whole, not your keys not your fund slogan, that is actually laying every damn second can't be seen as a war against crypto but against some as I said it before, pieces of garbage!

When Binance is charging you extra for segwit and has no plans on ever accepting LN just as Coingbase, when they are both CEX which from the start should be avoided, then why should "all" the industry be concerned?

On the argument about Sam and FTX, I have already admitted my mistake. FTX was a scam from the beginning. However, on the argument about CZ and Binance, he might have evaded some laws and regulations but did he create Binance to scam the community? Mainstream news media appear to be campaigning for this.

FTX only become a known scam when it crashed down.
Just because Binance is up and running just like FTX last year doesn't mean it has all your funds #SAFU!
I will always be neutral here, and frankly, CZ has cases to answer too, only that it might not be as grievous and endangering as that of SBF. A lot is going on with Binance, especially the global branch which is as good as underregulated. The US's CFTC dealing with the Binance (US) is an example of it. If they could do what they are alleged under the jurisdiction of the world's most powerful regulator, how much more they will be doing under the underregulated global branch?
4229  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A Concise Trading Guide for New Traders on: April 04, 2023, 08:00:54 AM
The reason most traders fail is that they lack a trading plan, and the few that have the plan might not have the correct one that will be foolproof and withstand the test of time. Trading is risky, tricky and confusing, even those that have the trading plan still might be confused and discouraged over time. But if the trader's plan is good, it will always withstand the test of time.

However, the priority of the plan of any trader should be a very good trading strategy and money/risk management. And if the trader could tame his emotion, success will linger.
4230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 04, 2023, 07:27:55 AM
Tottenham were so bad in this game against Everton that I'm not surprised with the draw at the end. Everton weren't having a proper season already therefore Tottenham should have been able to secure a decent win here. After Everton got a red card Tottenham should have done it already. But they even barely scored one goal. A 1-0 score is always risky you know.

Everton still had a hope for a comeback and they really did it in the last minutes. If Tottenham can't even win a game like this then I'm not sure if they can secure a spot in top four.
the fact is Tottenham can't defend it, Tottenham is look better in minute 82, but after the accident, their style is disbanded, and their strategy was messed up after Moura leave. I don't know why they can't manage it on 90'. Tottenham players is look hypnotized to don't block the rocket goal by Michael Keane. And in minute 26, we can see the official have tolerance for Muslim to break the fast, this is a pretty good show and tolerable match.
Yesterday was another moment when Tottenham could have improved in their position and zeal some better assurance, but their weak display did not allow them. Fine, they are not incapacitated in the match but the expectation on them was so high, they could have done better against Everton which was what @Velvet78 refers to.

Don't forget they have played 29 matches while the closest clubs (Man U and Newcastle) have two matches to equal them. With this, there is no way Tottenham will not find themselves in the 5th position because I don't think those clubs could lose all their outstanding matches.
4231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: April 04, 2023, 07:10:34 AM
Another win for atletico madrid and this round it was against Betis this make it four wins in a row, they are performing really great in the last couple of months which allowed them to put some distance and get comfortable in the third position it seems that they are even puting some pressure on real madrid.

With this win i believe atleteco Madrid totally secured a spot in the champoins league, it will be very hard for any team now to take atleteco third position this year because the gap is already big, with 6 points from sociedad and 9 points from betis i believe atleteco already secure the third place
Atletico Madrid still does not have immunity at their present spot, they can be displaced if they are not maintaining their winnings as they did in recent times. Anything is possible in football, and if they relax and Real Sociedad wins all their games, the situation will be the opposite. Still, Atletico Madrid has a better match for future success over Real Sociedad if their past performances are to be put into consideration.
4232  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Clients getting turned down by United Kingdom Banks | PM on other quest on: April 03, 2023, 10:46:16 AM
This is an example of fiat fighting back, maybe they've realized the dominance of the cryptocurrencies and are jealous of how they are missing businesses because of it. Well, this is not a good approach by them, and as this goes along, I believe other banks from other countries might follow suit unless there is an upgrade in the banking law that prohibits such acts.

This is similar to how some banks are working against some fintech in my country because they are taking their businesses. But it doesn't always work well for them (banks) at last as there are ways to go around their overbearing nature.

It's a matter of time.
4233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 03, 2023, 08:01:10 AM
because Osimhen is still injured which also makes Napoli not sharp in their attack in this match. so that Napoli could not reply to any goals in that match. but yeah you are right. This defeat will not have much effect on Napoli's ranking, which is comfortable at the top. but for Milan this victory is indeed very important for them to stay in the top 4 circles. and currently Milan has risen to 3rd place.
I think that even though if osimhen will be played in the matcha against ac milan and the result may still be the same. I meant let's take a look at how bad the defensive line of milan at that moment. If you are aware of how napoli's defenders were making some blunders and it gives ac milan golden chance to make the goals. If napoli performs so well against ac milan and it will still be able to win against ac milan even though played without osimhen.

Spalletti already admitted that if osimhen's absent was not the main problem that was making napoli lose against ac milan. I have the same thought like him too. Napoli's defenders are giving so many free space.
Just like the first goal that already made by ac milan. Napoli's defenders were not using all of these the efforts to prevent the ball.

There must be some adjustment to the defenders of napoli. The performance from napoli is declining. As far as i can see that if napoli was using same squad and formation like the previous meetings but it's only missing osimhen due to the injury
Honestly it's very obvious that Napoli defenders were not good enough and very sloppy, I watched how Rafael Leão of Milan dribbled past those defenders with ease and scored two brilliant goals, this is one of the worst Napoli performance this season, Spalletti needed to make necessary amendment to his defence line because the two club will play in UCL quarter finals in the next 10 days, meanwhile I think the presence of Osimen in the match would have make a difference, his ability to score goal might have changed the game, I hope he will be back before their UCL match, Napoli needed just 5 wins out of the remaining 10 matches to win Scudetto with 16 points above Lazio who is placed second on the table.
Truly, Napoli was relaxed and the absence of Victor Osimhen emboldened their opponent. This is a wake-up call for the club that is planning to sell Osimhen next season, I hope the speculation is not true because it might seriously affect them as his attacking has helped to cover up for the defensive lapses of Napoli. But for sure this season after their last Serie A trophy since 1990, nothing else could stop them from lifting the trophy. But they have to seriously improve themselves, especially the middle and defence.

On April Fools' Day, Trust No One!

It was a nice April Fool party :-)

I wouldn't say much, though. I partially believe this was true, but I also had to rethink, (come on!) this was a good offer that was too nice to come on the wrong day. On April 1st, don't put your trust in anyone. If I said I trusted these 100%, then I must be  joking. Huh

Trust no one on April 1st.
My 99% instinct told me it was an April fool prank while 1% agreed. But what if it's real? The 1% that people disregard at times could make them cry...lol.

As for the image you uploaded, it's so hilarious, but still educating for those that could view it insightfully. I believe the lady did that unintentionally believing she could use the handle to support herself not knowing the risk involved, which could injure her as well. Smiley

4235  Economy / Economics / Re: less risk or big profit? on: April 03, 2023, 06:48:37 AM
Both real estate and Bitcoin will give you big profits especially over a period of time.
I once compared Bitcoin with landed properties but now I really don't see any reasons comparing them since they're both very good investment that is capable of giving good returns on investment.
I've seen people who sell their lands to buy Bitcoin and I've also seen people who sell their Bitcoin to buy land and what truly matters is the priority since everything in life already has it's own risk associated.
I personally see land as less risky and even very profitable if done very well rather than Bitcoin.
Why would really be needing up to compare if you could really be having both?

Its true that both things could bring huge profit but of course this wont really be talking some small amounts because if you are targeting out on huge profits then its understandable that you would be needing to risks
huge amounts too and holding up for long term. This doesnt only need up that passive approach because you would really be that considerate on choosing potential ones specially on real estate business or investment
and also you should be mindful on buying cheaper prices if we do speak about Bitcoin investment. Therefore, it would really be just depending on how you would be handling out yourself.

I think they both work on the principles of garbage in, garbage out as your amount of profits depend on the amount of money invested .
I would rather have the both rather than wanting to have only one and no matter how promising either Bitcoin or real estate might seem, they both have their risk and both of them are risky investments that are capable of giving a worthy return over a period of time so while trying to choose the investment or asset to invest in, one should do a proper research and be conscious of the risk involved before jumping into investing rather than just wanting to follow threads.
I will not blame anyone that kicked against the investment in Bitcoin as is an online investment in which many have been scammed, it will take an extra effort to convince such people. This is particularly when those people are more offline in their investments, they mostly believe in physical businesses and buying lands and precious metals as their assets.

However, such people must be duly monitored to help them so that they are not discouraged by the fluctuating price of the coin.
4236  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Is Yahoo(Street)the last hope of a common man? on: April 03, 2023, 06:39:17 AM
I will never support illegality, yet the situation in this country has dragged many to it, while many more are just lazy, they have seen it as a way to make fast and easy money. It would even have been better if they are using the money for a productive course, but most of them will just be living extravagant lifestyles with it carrying women up and down, buying expensive cars and goods and will be sleeping in hotels, clubbing and parting now and then.

Above all, there are still legit guys trying to use their God's giving brains to make a living for themselves. No one should encourage yahoo yahoo and other illegal means as means of survival.

4237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Online casino always take risks? on: April 02, 2023, 01:00:42 PM
Why to look for new casino if there are popular crypto casinos promoted by different influencers?
If the feedback by other users is fake and everything looks too good to be true then it is definitely not safe place.
Regarding first question, promotions are paid by marketing teams who also has budget coming from house edge of any games available on Casino.

There are two different things to be considered. First, if an influencer promotes a fake casino, the casino might gain short term hype but in the long term, people will not play that casino because they will realize that the casino is a scam. Also, the people will also stop trusting that influencer who shilled the scam casino and he will lose his followers. I hope influencers know that it is not easy to gain a reputation and therefore they should not promote anything which is a scam.

Secondly, the trusted good casino can also contact the influencers to promote their casino and it is another very productive way of marketing and gaining more gamblers on the site.
Scams and bad services are everywhere and in every business these days, but none of them could use them to sustain their company, it always boomerangs over time. And truly, I don't trust influencers anymore, I just skip them these days because they lack integrity, they are just in for the money. Anything too good to be true should just is avoided, and once you are new to a service regardless of who promotes it should be tested with a little amount if it would be worth it.

Most importantly, what the casinos are to offer and their conditions for offering it matters. It will not also be bad if thorough research is done by the gambler before using them.
4238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most likely category of people to become Gambling addicts. on: April 02, 2023, 11:00:13 AM
- Be careful introducing gambling to teens, especially young male teens.
I don't know today, but several years ago when I was still living in Japan, I see a lot of old grandmothers sitting on the pachinko playing slot. Maybe they heard from a gathering of his friends and join together in the clubs, it seems possible that the old grandmother to become Gambling addicts also, because no one takes care of them at home, because they are not married and maybe their children do not take care of them anymore because their child was moved to another place and reluctant to pay a call them.
Addiction does not spare anyone or age, some were not addicted to gambling when they were teenagers or in their adulthood until they are climbing older ages. It might be as a result of many things which you had iterated some of them. And additionally, some are just bored or find themselves in the company of some people that see it as their way of whiling away time above anything else.
4239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 02, 2023, 04:21:07 AM
Chelsea 0 - 1 Aston Villa

HT

there are still 45 minutes for the game to end, but as I have been saying, with the current coach chelsea will not be a good winning team, they are just spending a lot of money for nothing, we will see how this game will end, but so far chelsea is losing , they have hardly been able to score 2 goals, which is why I think it will be a very difficult mission for them to leave this game with a victory, the most likely will be a draw or defeat for Chelsea

Disappointing result from Graham Potter again, just when everyone was thinking things have finally turn around for better after a long run of struggling to get back their form they concede yet another embarrassing defeat to Aston Villa, Villa won by a 2 goal margin and move up to 9th position while Chelsea drop to 11th position.
Don't even mention it, the Chelsea of yesterday was a big disappointment and I believe it's time that Graham Potter leaves the club. There is no more excuse for him with the last match against Aston Villa, it shouldn't be that bad, not even a goal scored, to the point that Villa was the one that scored twice. This is a display of shame and clearer that the issue in the club is more than what people envisaged.

4240  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Bitcoin can end poverty? In a nation today on: April 02, 2023, 04:04:55 AM
If you want to invest in bitcoin, it's best to use money that you don't use for food and outside of your basic needs. in fact, it would be great if people invested in bitcoin using money that he is free to use. Bitcoin can indeed help poverty, however, if we don't use it wisely, then it can be a negative thing for us.

It’s impossible for this criteria to be met because people on poverty has sufficient money for their food or else they are not categorized in poverty status. Bitcoin is not for people that has no money for spending other than their food because Bitcoin has high volatility that makes poor people gamble for there life. Bitcoin investment is only good when you are using extra money that you can afford to lose.

I’m not depriving poor people but introducing Bitcoin to them will just make their life more miserable when shit happened to their money.
I'm with you on this, for starters, no poor person can be able to buy Bitcoin, and if such struggles and tried to purchase it, it can't be substantial to alleviate his poverty. Besides, there are many assets and investments before Bitcoin, have they been able to do this poverty alleviation? No, which is why I know that Bitcoin will not do a miracle.

Besides, some people have money and still mismanaged their investment in the coin, and hence they lose. So, Bitcoin can't always make the poor rich, but smart people can benefit immensely from it.
