I think inviting our friends to play gambling without knowing who they are is too risky. That's because gambling can provoke him to spend more money than we imagine. I'd say that at least with the "who you know is poor" option is too broad, as education can make you intelligent enough to avoid the pitfalls that can come with gambling. However, generally it might be good advice because often those who have the least are the most susceptible to trying to jump a few steps up the ladder. People with a drug use problem may have more problems with their poor money management skills that tie into the problem and will manifest given a long enough time. A lot of free time is also an indicator of why they play gambling. Rich people usually they have busy activities, I would not try to say that poor people are not busy. I don't agree with OP but there are so many poor people still think gambling as a way to get quick rich. In fact, gambling should be for rich people who can afford to bet high amounts then enjoy  emotions formed with gambling. Some bonus hunters are blacklisted on various casino platforms because this is the only way they can afford to play on casinos without making single deposit in years. Just my 2 cents.

Gambling have no boundaries since anyone can gamble as long as they can handle their finances. But there are other over extend their expectation since they see some people earning huge money without even thinking the consequences beyond those things.
