Paul Says He'd Be "Happy" to Dissolve the U.N.

Quote
Rand Paul is not a fan of the United Nations, and on a campaign-style swing through New Hampshire on Wednesday, the likely Republican presidential hopeful said that he would support dissolving the international governing body entirely.

Speaking to a room full of gun rights advocates at the Londonderry Fish & Game Club, Paul said that while the concept of having a multinational body to "discuss diplomacy" isn't necessarily a bad one, he objects to the current structure, in which the United States has to foot "a huge chunk" of the U.N.'s bill.

“I dislike paying for something that two-bit Third World countries with no freedom attack us and complain about the United States,” Paul said. “There’s a lot of reasons why I don’t like the U.N., and I think I’d be happy to dissolve it.”

The Kentucky senator’s swing through the first-in-the-nation primary state came a day after The Washington Post reported that Paul has hired a campaign manager for his now all-but certain White House run.

Paul was in his element among the libertarian-leaning crowd here, as he took a range of questions on gun policy and noted that he began his successful 2010 Senate bid at a machine gun festival in Kentucky.

“From a freedom perspective, I’m against limiting magazines,” Paul said in response to one question about ammunition. “From a practical point of view, I’m not that great a shot, so I need a few more chances.”

The remark drew laughter from the standing-room crowd that had gathered near the club’s gun range.

Though Paul’s 2016 candidacy is not yet official, the freshman senator mostly dispensed with any attempt to play it coy as he asked for the club members’ support.

“I don’t think you’ll probably find anybody in our primary who’s going to come up here and say they don’t support the 2nd Amendment and they’re not for gun rights,” he said. “So really the job of voters sometimes is sifting through who they think can best advocate for the position, who has advocated for the position, and how do we do it best. I think there’s a lot of overlap between all of the people you’ll see and hear from. But I think one thing that may be unique about my message is that I try to intertwine and make it not just about guns and not just the 2nd Amendment. I tend to make it more about freedom.”

4262  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Korea Prison Camps on: January 15, 2015, 10:19:06 PM
Here's a great website that focuses and highlights much of the activity that goes on in the North and shells out daily content. When it came to prison camps back in Kim Il Sung's, all it took was an allegation of wrongdoing or anti-state activity no matter how small and then not only the person who committed the alleged wrongdoing but also all their family members (siblings, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins) would be simultaneously rounded up and dispatched to serve extensive periods in these camps, and in many cases for the rest of their lives. This isn't like prison in the US where you have a roommate and get to shower, eat and watch tv all day long. In North Korea, these people would be worked to death from early in the morning til late in the evening followed by loyalty sessions  afterwards. IIRC, I read somewhere where these prisoners would get the equivalent of 2-3 meals a day but they only consisted of ~4 ounces of rice or corn meal each - hardly enough to sustain anyone doing so much work on a daily basis. Also, these people were treated like animals and beaten in the most uncivilized ways, forced abortions, the list goes on.

The OP was 68 cents short of being correct 4 days after his post but the fact remains that if he took the bet and agreed, then he owes someone a coin. I consider that his purchase a decent buy even tho he's out about a $1k or so. Much more so than someone that bought similar at anything higher. This is why you don't blanket buy at any one point, but piecemeal it towards a bottom. Cheers from here!

I'm almost scared for those that are on the verge of being squeezed in such a fashion. It literally could be doomsday for them. Better know when to fold em and get on the right side of the emerging trend the other way. I pray some wise up and don't become victims of sleeping on the job. Not a matter of it but when and the when is lurking around the corner and soon.

Calls Romney a terrible candidate

Quote
Rupert Murdoch weighed in on the 2016 presidential race during a public appearance at the Manhattan Institute on Wednesday, praising Jeb Bush and writing off Mitt Romney as "a terrible candidate."
In a conversation with Fox News analyst Judith Miller, a senior fellow at the Institute, the News Corp/21st Century Fox Chairman talked extensively about the prospective Republican field, excerpts of which were relayed to us by our colleague Maggie Haberman.

Asked if he had a favorite candidate yet, Murdoch replied, "No." But he did say, "I like Jeb Bush very much."  Roll Eyes

Murdoch also expressed admiration for Rand Paul: ""I personally like Rand Paul very much and I am very impressed by his brain," he said. Though he was skeptical about Paul's foreign policy platform, "which is frankly a major issue," he commended the Kentucky Senator for "campaigning on the theory that Washington is too big."

"I think he will do well enough to move the debate," Murdoch said. He added, "I don't think he will win... I would be very surprised if he won the nomination."

Murdoch was less kind toward Mitt Romney, who is considering a third bid for the Republican nomination after his failed attempts in 2008 and 2012.

"I rather agree with the [Wall Street] Journal this morning, which sort of lacerated Romney," Murdoch said in reference to an editorial in the paper he owns. "He had his chance, he mishandled it, you know? I thought Romney was a terrible candidate."

Murdoch also hit Romney for winning the nomination "by destroying every other Republican with his own money" and for failing to deflect criticism that he was "super rich."

On Chris Christie: "I wouldn't write off Chris Christie at all.... We will just see how he handles himself."

On Scott Walker: "He will be an interesting candidate" (though he questioned his charisma.)

On Paul Ryan, who has said he will not run: "He's only 44... [he has] plenty of time."

And finally, Ted Cruz: "I've met [him], quite an experience," Murdoch said to laughter. "He's smart... [but there's] a record of very questionable political judgment, so we will see."

Overall, Murdoch said, "it will be a big and lively field."

http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2015/01/rupert-murdoch-weighs-in-on-calls-romney-a-terrible-201107.html

In other words, he heeds what Rand has been saying about Romney but only because it means that the establishment is going to be splitting money and such between 2 establishment candidates which didn't happen in 2012. Thoughts?

Prior to getting upgraded to your next rank, keep checking the Bit-X sig campaign to see if there are openings coming up. It's likely the highest paying campaign and I figure, if I'm gonna read and post in this place anyway, I might as well get something rather than nothing. Bitmixer is another one I tried, they always payed on time but just seemed like I could get more bang for the buck using Bit-X instead.

So, basically the article is stating that people are gonna sell at the slightest bit of profit meaning that there'll be no moon calls again. Apparently, he didn't talk to too many bulls nor any of the current bears that are waiting for market sentiments to change so the next wave up can begin. No wonder there are no comments here yet.

Dear,

We don't know why we have cancelled all sell orders, but still can't close the IPO flag.
We have to contact with CS-customer, please wait for further news.

Therefore, the inconvenience caused to you, please understand!

Best regards.

It is taking too long, whenever the IPO flag is lifted somehow i'm going to dump all i have (unless you tell us what the dividend plan will be)
Unless they start paying dividends then no one will buy those shares anyways. This is all on Bentley to get things rolling again like they should be after they had all the time in the world to do what they needed to to get this product in the shape it needed to be in to make sales.

Hitting Colorado shelves soon.

Quote
DENVER — A new pot spray promising to help women have better sex will hit the shelves in Colorado next week.

Foria, which contains marijuana extract, claims the relaxing properties of cannabis will help women have better and more satisfying sex. It's been available for a few months in California, but only to people with a medical marijuana card and doctor's recommendation. The edible coconut oil-based spray — users spritz it on their genitals about 30 minutes before sex — goes on sale to the general public in Colorado next week at an Aspen marijuana boutique.

Foria, from Aphrodite Group, a California medical marijuana cooperative, is the latest in a burgeoning line of marijuana-infused products, from lotions to candies to patches. And while there's little scientific evidence to back up their efficacy, scientists say marijuana's long history of use gives significant credibility to the concept.

"Cannabis is an aphrodisiac," said Genifer Murray, CEO of CannLabs, one of the nation's largest marijuana-testing companies. "And there's a lot of nerves down there."

Thousands Of German Spies Are At Risk After A Double Agent Stole A List Of Identities

Thousands of German spies posted around the world could be at risk after it emerged that a double agent unmasked last summer stole a list of their real identities and may have sold it.

The double agent, who has been identified only as Markus R under strict German privacy laws, obtained a top secret list of the real names, aliases and locations of 3,500 German intelligence officers posted abroad, according to a report in Bild newspaper.

But German intelligence sources sought to downplay the incident, briefing that the list in question was out of date and contained far fewer than 3,500 names, the DPA news agency reported.

The arrest of Markus R last summer caused a major diplomatic rift between Germany and the US, after it emerged he had acted as a double agent for the CIA.

He had also approached Russian intelligence and offered to sell them secret information, and there are fears he may have passed the list of German spies' names to a hostile foreign agency.

An employee of the BND, Germany's equivalent of MI6, Markus R worked in the registry section of its overseas operations department, where he had access to top secret documents including the identities of operatives posted abroad.

The stolen list, which is said to date from 2011, is believed to contain the real identities and aliases of BND officers posted under cover as diplomats to various embassies around the world, and of those working secretly in countries where the German military has missions abroad, including Afghanistan.

It is not clear whether Markus R passed it to any foreign intelligence agencies. It was found on a hard drive seized during a search of his home after his arrest last summer, which has only recently been properly evaluated.

Markus R's unmasking was one of two spying scandals that badly shook US-German relations last summer, and saw Angela Merkel's government ask the CIA station chief in Berlin to leave the country.

Markus R has reportedly confessed to passing the CIA more than 200 secret documents over a period of two years, in return for payments of €25,000 (£16,500).

4280  Other / Politics & Society / Saudi Arabia Is Building A 600-Mile 'Great Wall' To Shield Itself From ISIS on: January 15, 2015, 12:04:01 AM
Quote
When a raiding party from Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant attacked a Saudi border post last week, it was no mere hit on a desert outpost.

The jihadists were launching an assault on the new, highest-profile effort by Saudi Arabia to insulate itself from the chaos engulfing its neighbours.

The Saudis are building a 600-mile-long “Great Wall” — a combined fence and ditch — to separate the country from Iraq to the north.

Much of the area on the Iraqi side is now controlled by Isil, which regards the ultimate capture of Saudi Arabia, home to the “Two Holy Mosques” of Mecca and Medina, as a key goal.

The proposal had been discussed since 2006, at the height of the Iraqi civil war, but work began in September last year after Isil’s charge through much of the west and north of the country gave it a substantial land border with the Kingdom to the south.

The border zone now includes five layers of fencing with watch towers, night-vision cameras, and radar cameras.

Riyadh also sent an extra 30,000 troops to the area.

It is not the only fence with which Saudi Arabia has chosen to surround itself. Despite the difficulty of access to westerners, the country is relatively open to fellow Muslim nations, particularly during the Haj season when pilgrims from across the world come to Mecca and Medina.

However, that is changing in changing times.

It has also created a physical barrier along parts of the even longer, 1,000-mile border with Yemen to the south.

The attack last week is the sort of incident the Saudis hope to avoid. Three border guards, including General Oudah al-Belawi, commander of border operations in Saudi Arabia’s northern zone, were killed.

All four attackers also died.
