4261  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is like a cup of sand on: February 10, 2018, 08:19:19 PM
So I have a cup of sand.
Inside it are 25 million grains of sand.
I won't add any more to it, therefore the supply is limited.
You can buy one grain for $10k
I expect the price will rise to $250k by the end of the year.

There are other cups of sand out there but mine is the original.

It's better then gold I tell you.

Good analogy mate. But I don't think that the price can hit $250K at the end of the end. That's too much money to flow to the market and its not doable, not this year. We can get to that price but it will take many years and as I have said, billions to be pour from either the gold investors or coming from the Wall Street guys. Let's just put in a realistic target, let say around $40K-$60K will be a good guesstimate.

Nah nah... OP ' s speculation of $250k is far too much without regulations?
And $40-60k this year, I doubt. I don't see bitcoin being stable for a week if it breaks its all time high for last year without crashing back below $20k. But, I don't see it hitting $30k.

02. Happiest Grin Grin
The happiest moment in my life is when I've seen bitcoin hit $1,000 last year and that was a very memorable day of my life although the price of bitcoin keeps on increasing these days.

Guess you sold off at $1,000 . Running off with joy... with some meagre profit at that time.

The most painful was when one of my altcoins was heading for the moon and I didn't know it was doomed to be dumped and after two days, the price crashed and I went into loss Smiley.

The happy moment is, I'm happy that I sold one altcoin at the right time.

4264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Waves hit $100 in this Year? on: February 09, 2018, 03:21:02 PM
I don't think it is wise to speculate on the price of any asset, including cryptocurrencies. If you believe in Waves, then invest but don't forget to diversify and control your risk.

Sometimes predicting the movement of a coin I'd good because it guides an investor either to go in, wait for certain time or not to go at all. In other words, it would now be in research mode.

Meanwhile, waves for me is a nice coin, built like ethereum. $ 100 this year is not bad.
4265  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Come Back? on: February 09, 2018, 01:54:41 PM
Cry Cry I lost a lot from Ponzi Hyip and ICO lending. I am currently holding some top 20 coin. The amount of money I owed is so great, I had to mortgage my house, I did not know what to do anymore, please help me advice if I should  continue in the Crytopia this or not?

I believe it is not easy for you with struggling for after the incident but hodl for the first half of this year, by then you could see a profit from any of your 20 coins. This is a great year for altcoin. Sorry for your ponzi loss. Good luck

4267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite Token? and why? on: February 08, 2018, 04:34:10 PM
I prefer ethereum. The coin is beginning to get accepted by the whole crypto community. It is serving as optional to bitcoin and its transactions are faster and cheaper too. Soon, this coin would be the talk for every investor. Icos prefer it too which is a sure growth as you hodl.
4268  Economy / Economics / Re: will next decade be the bitcoin era ?? on: February 08, 2018, 03:02:22 PM
It can't be denied that bitcoin is taking over the world economics and its recent come back is a proof. I see the coin doing wonders in just few years. The government support will speedily give the most awaiting lift to its growth.
4269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocoin prices dropped simultaneously on: February 08, 2018, 09:52:47 AM
Bitcoin is the big player. Most likely, anytime it is going down, altcoins too starts sliding but I have also noticed that the altcoins don't also appreciate rapidly the bitcoin do. Some altcoins never even recover after such slid. They just remean there, on the floor of the CMC.   Angry
4270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to choose a good ICO, what criteria? on: February 08, 2018, 09:14:20 AM
From the whole list of OP's catalog, number 10 and 35 are what I look out for first before any other criteria. 35 is very important and it indicates that the team is ready to see there coin through. So, investing with a team that has come up with new technology, maybe by way of separate wallet etc, will make me be optimistic about the coin because they would want to make a name too. I rather dine with such team.
4271  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Reignite your passion on Trading? on: February 07, 2018, 10:52:28 PM
Within this past few days i made so many wrong decision on trading. I predicted wrong, or i haven't maximize my Buy in and Out. This make me lose confidence on my skills. what keep your passion on trading and continue more?

You might not have noticed that there are some season or certain times that strategies , methods etc that where hitherto working and very accurately, starts failing for no clear reason. At this time, technical analysis don't conform to plan anymore.

Thus, going by the date of your post, this is around the time bitcoin was on an uncontrollable bullish ride , just like it went through free fall lately. At this time, no technical analysis was helping to understand price movements. This could be a reason you are blaming yourself for making wrong judgement of the market . Nobody could have got it better,  so get up, cheer up and start embracing the market again.
4272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do u follow what politicians say about cryptocurrency? on: February 07, 2018, 07:47:11 PM
The politicians are usually the government officials when they are "elected" ,aspirants and ex officials. From whatever way it is looked at , politicians are people with interior and personal motives because politics itself is the manner or ways of sharing scarce resources.

Therefore, they - politicians can't say what will not benefit them whether directly or indirectly. Take away tax and what comes to the government, they might be looking seriously on how to totally erase cryptos from the face of the earth.

I'm hoping that the G20 meeting would bring more breath to digital currency .
4273  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Addiction? on: February 07, 2018, 05:22:13 PM
Do you ever feel like you're overly obsessed with cryptocurrencies or trading/investing in general?
Personally, I'm fairly satisfied with my investments/decisions so far but yet I'm looking for market opportunities most of the time. I think that's mainly because of the fact that majority of my time browsing the internet I watch related content. I'm passionate quite passionate about it.

Over time it kinda makes me feel depressed that I don't make as much as I possibly could or others have better scores (some unhealthy jealousy I guess?), so this "paper-chasing" has become a target itself.

When I want to take a break from all this stuff for let's say a month or week at least then I'm not able to because I'm afraid that I will miss out on something.
On the one hand, I have made investments in projects I believe in so I could leave it for few months even and then back but at the other hand, I'm still not quite sure about my diversification so I keep watching the market.

Can anyone relate?

Unfortunately, I have exhausted my merit. This kind of post and reality is why I agree with some fellas that, this merit system is not really doing what it is meant to do to the right post. The 'buttons' to the merit should be in the confines of the unbiase mode. This is, so that; either instantly, you get what you deserve.

Yes, I understand that it might not be easy for the mode , and I also know and understand how the (merit source) works - but we are yet to feel it .

My point is, I wonder why no user was moved to give an (s) or merit to OP's post from first page.  Or, either they have exhausted theirs like me too  Grin

Alright, enough of vitupuration. OP,  I feel what your point is. What is happening to you is passion and in your own case, strong passion. Mate, it is normal. It is not that you are only guiding your investment but your body and heart are intertwined with your passion. This is just what you enjoy doing. We are both in same boat and luckily, crytocurrency is the new rave - very lucrative but be wise as you invest.
4274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The END is NEAR! on: February 06, 2018, 10:50:20 PM
It is the truth! We are at the ground floor and early adopters of crypto currency revolution. 2018 is probably the last year you will find prices at this level. Only a fraction of the population even have access to crypto. Think when it will become easier and money pours in.

Come to think of it, that can only happen when regulation has taken place , then maybe to acquire cryptocurrency would now be a difficult task . It is very possible and thats what we are expecting to happen. Obviously, if regulation comes in , the market will be stable and focused.
4275  Economy / Digital goods / Re: I have 26 merits!!!! Buy it if you want!!!!! on: February 06, 2018, 07:56:59 PM
By the looks of it, the DT members disapprove of this practice, and your trust just took a hammering. How could you not predict that this would happen? In any case, do you actually think 26 merits would be worth $50? Merits.... $50? Doesn't compute.

If people really wanted merit, they would post highly quality material here on the forum, the merit sources aren't exactly stingy with their sMerit. If you post something worthy, you'll be merited. Anybody receiving merit suspiciously (e.g. indicating it has been purchased) is likely to take a hammer just like you.

Anyone who will buy or sell sMerit will probably get negative trust rating and if I were the admin like Theymos I will ban those account doing that.

Look like thread starter already banned.

Not banned, active today - "Last Active:    Today at 12:03:45 AM"

That being said, it seems like -32 negative trust would be enough to keep that account from getting any action with sales.

But such account is a bad influence on the forum. Off course, a member that goes all the way to sell merit and with multiple red tag would perpetrate more attrocity with the same account if allowed to continue.

I guess an existing account continues to generate merit (if not stopped) which obviously would be used irrationally and inappropriate. Is just a bad influence.
4276  Economy / Economics / Re: buy high and sell low. or hold which one is it? on: February 06, 2018, 07:22:50 AM
You are not coherent to me OP. We need to get our writing straight and clear so that contributors would even know when they are derailing from the idea.

However , if I should say something about falling price and knowing when to sell. I can't certainly say if anybody here knows precisely what direction price will go. Even when you plot a graph and technicals , fundamentals to study the market, they might fail if the "wave" comes. Just as we are witnessing at the moment, some investors have dived in and expecting a reverse upward but market is still nose-diving.

In other words, instinct is also part of the techniques to trade and being successful
4277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Today's news: Chinese gov restricts Crypto again... on: February 05, 2018, 06:23:01 PM
The estopping of the usage of cryptos have been a long time struggle. In the short time, It is a way to instigate panic selling.

On the other side,  if at all, I see the struggle being to achieve some level of sanitation in the crypto world to push out mediocre. These countries will come around in the long term.
It will work to protect investors , guiding against shit icos .

However, history has also shown that change is always resisted. Crypto is new and trying to gain grounds.
4278  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Will people pay taxes for bitcoin ? on: February 05, 2018, 04:31:12 PM
Cryptocurrency and taxes. It is controversial topic. Noone want to pay taxet especially for bitcoin. Now this is a very profitable business and soon the government can introduce taxes on cryptocurrency nevertheless. But we can`t "touch" or "hold" it so in what way cryptocurrency might be taxed?

In my opinion, сryptocurrency may be taxed in the same way as a program or any sale or purchase transaction. Regardless of what you are selling, if you are profiting, you are required to pay tax.

What do you think?

Yes , cryptos and taxing issues are synonymous especially with the huge money churning out from this new technology. Probably, the government could be looking for ways to want to tax investors but they really can't, if they don't put it down in black and white in their constitution.

It has to be backed by the powers of the constitution which would now be a guideline to punish evaders for instance. As far as I know therefore, I'm yet to read or hear a country that has actually adopted the digital currency in totality because if they do; it will be in the constitution either as optional financial means of transaction to fiat, in other to avoid being made a feast for the solicitors

What I then think is that , before taxing will seat, regulations and control will be introduced and if that happens,  whether cryptos are touched or felt physically will be inconsequential because the government would simply start from the registration and regulation of exchanges , off course we know why. Thats where withdrawals and deposit most times are sent to.
4279  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will this bear trend go? on: February 04, 2018, 07:04:59 PM
With upcoming bad news, it is very clear that we are going to see lower prices than $8000, it is not bottom for sure. I think the bottom is around $6000

The price of bitcoin has always been speculative , nobody can say prices where price could head to. Really, negative news are suppose to drag bitcoin down but we also have to remember that last year after the ban news of icos , bitcoin went to the top. So, is all speculative.
4280  Other / Meta / Re: Appreciate merit system being a Newbie on: February 03, 2018, 03:26:16 PM
You are probably the first newbie I've seen that isn't complaining about the merit system. I've been here for years, and it's about time we finally have a system that attempts to eliminate the shitposting that has been plaguing the forum as of late. The rules are simple, post good quality content, and you'll be rewarded. You'll rank up, and you'll benefit most from contributing most, that is how a balanced ecosystem works.

I do believe that a sound and constructive communicator would appreciate this merit system. The system is nice and workable to push out lazy posters but I just hope that it won't be dragged to the mould by favouritism.

I'm already seeing signs to that favouritism. If mode could come up with ways to check these cheaters that are beating the system, it will be appaulded .
