4263  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: TripleMining is a scam, and is flooding the forum with referral links on: July 09, 2011, 03:21:59 PM
I'm wondering how many members here are involved in the triplemining-site, defending it at all cost, posting all those referral links, signatures and so on. Stop hiding behind the "its not me" wall, noone believes you!
And >5.3M shares without any find .. I dont believe in bad luck anymore.
FUD much?

is there a way to adjust voltages for ASUS 5850 directCU? its possible in MSI afterburner with a few tweaks

I did it with clocktweak (-v option, i think), EAH5850 GPU.

C:\Program Files (x86)\clocktweak>clocktweak -a 0 -y -s 20 -v 1125 -f

So i wait for weeks, i finally am at the right place at the right time for the nowinstock notification where I get my order in for 2 6990's seconds from getting the notification. Credit card charged, packaged sent. I open the box and BOOM: 2 6970s in the box. Called newegg. Nothing they can do but say sorry and give me a refund. Sucks!
WTF, you paid close to $1500 for two 6970s???  That sux Sad
reading comprehension fail

When you say you shorted the detection pins, are you simply referring to dummy plugs for the monitor?

I do know that some cards and motherboard require a presence detection pin the be shorted out on the PCIe bus when down-connecting to a 1x slot. Is that what you've tried?
i did both, the vga + pcie

4275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0.01 transaction fee required for 0.38 BT transactoin? on: July 06, 2011, 06:49:04 PM

I have the same problem, with 0.3.21-beta for Mac OS X.  I haven't been able to send, even 0.01, because "This transaction is over the size limit".

Really?  A penny is so huge that it requires a 100% transaction fee?  This isn't a bug?  I thought bitcoin could be sent for free, but it might take longer (lower priority)?
it prevents transaction spam. also, if a transaction has too little or no fee, other nodes may not accept it, causing 0/unconfirmed forever
4276  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Internet Connection Problems / Offline Mining on: July 06, 2011, 06:12:12 PM
So if there is any new blocks generated during the time I lose the internet connection then it is pointless to mine for an offline client?

Basically to be any value I would have to lose the internet connection, find the right hash to generate a block and come back online all before any block on the network is generated?
yep, thats why we use LP

Still only one bid? I'm somewhat surprised that no one wants to buy a 5830 for 0.02 BTC. :S

Maybe people aren't as dumb as you think?

+1
4279  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Can you use this to boost your laptop's mining power? on: July 06, 2011, 01:38:50 AM
why use this when you can get a good board for that price?
4280  Bitcoin / Mining support / using x1 to x16, card does not show in device manager on: July 05, 2011, 09:49:28 PM
(see title)
using windows 7 x64, with shorted presence detect pins. If i plug in a monitor, nothing shows up.

edit:
this only occurs when sapphire 5850 xtreme is plugged in using x1->x16; both cards show up if ASUS 5850 is plugged in using x1->x16
