4261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Not Disappearing At Least Until 2140. HODL! You Have Diamond Hands! on: May 19, 2021, 06:31:43 AM
HODL is he one! but unfortunately not everyone understands or believes
the power of HODL.
If everyone had the attitude of holding, there would quite a well defined ceiling for Bitcoin. Its the fact that we have a people who are using Bitcoin for a currency, a place to hold, and store money, and a way to invest, and earn more fiat currencies is exactly what creates demand. If everyone held Bitcoin, it would turn into a collectible, and would defeat the whole point of why Bitcoin was created in the first place.

So, while holding is a valuable strategy, it doesn't mean everyone should. Plus, those particularly ballsy can actually earn quite a lot of money by frequently investing, and withdrawing, and reinvesting that capital.

Yes, true @Welsh

HODL is a counter measure which should be practised instead of blindly panic selling.

Of course there are those who have already over extended themselves when buying so
its difficult when you see your Bitcoin $ value evaporating.

Belief and the conviction to HODL are part of the game.

Indeed if you are an experienced trader the current market movement can be bountyful.
4262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours on: May 18, 2021, 09:52:49 PM
In the next round of the NRL I have 4 bets on:

The Panthers @ 1.30 v The Rabbitohs

The Eels @ 1.45 v The Sea Eagles

The Roosters @ 1.08 v The Broncos

Storm @ 1.13 v The Raiders

I normally bet conservatively as per above.
The odds on the Panthers v Rabbitohs is fairly close 1.30 to 3.90,
I'm not sure the game will be so close, Im hoping it wont be.

The Eels v Sea Eagles odds are just as close, I cant see the top
2 teams on the ladder being beaten.
4263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Not Disappearing At Least Until 2140. HODL! You Have Diamond Hands! on: May 18, 2021, 09:43:08 PM
HODL is he one! but unfortunately not everyone understands or believes
the power of HODL.

We have seen this before in a bull cycle, big corrections because of weak
investors jumping into Bitcoin wjen it is rising and jumoing back out at the
slightest sign of negative news.

We will all look back on this event as a blip in Bitcoins history, there will also
be others who wont have fond memories after panic selling.

2140? nobody here will experience it . . .
4264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 18, 2021, 09:09:38 PM
Anyone have a bet on Andujar to win? that would have been a good reward.

He will be dissapointed with that alright, he wants game time, he will definitely
be looking to RG for more.

TBH I thought he would come through todays match but I didnt factor his opponent
and the surface, He was favourite though.
4265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 18, 2021, 06:30:39 AM
Very good to see Federer back on tour. Its been such a long time since he has been playing.
Hopefully there will be no mishaps and obviously he has a green light to play after a lengthy
recovery from the two operations.

He is playing later today and interestingly sportsbet have him at 1.32 ahead of Andujar at 3.30.

He is focussing on winning games and building towards Wimbledon.
4266  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin price crushed? on: May 17, 2021, 08:59:12 PM
We can only speculate as to why Bitcoins price is reversing so much.
I would say there are a number of scenarios at play, like always.

The Elon Musk factor has to be accounted for, plus his followers who blindly
bought Bitcoin and who now are blindly selling.

Manipulation by traders and whales is another factor, not necessarily a negative
thing as traders react to market movements.

General FUD by a lot of people who may not be fully aware of EM's influence and
who dont understand Bitcoins potential market movements.
4267  Other / Archival / Re: The community created a petition: Elon Musk, sell your bitcoin on: May 17, 2021, 08:24:55 PM
The more attention people give him, the more influence he can exert.  Petitions give him more attention.  You are going to achieve the complete opposite of what you set out to do.

Absolutely, I think the community should calm down and do what sensible investors
do, buy cheap Bitcoin. Elon himself could very well be taking advantage of the
effect he is creating.

Maybe if he didnt get the attention he is getting now Bitcoins value may not
be creeping towards $40k.

I can understand how a lot of new Bitcoiners feel though, Elon seems to be playing
a little game but for people who have very little opportunities to invest in
something and who are relying on Bitcoin to give them a better future, it is frustrating,
and probably worrying.

Elon doesnt get that though.
4268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 17, 2021, 11:38:15 AM
The women's section final, it looks like Swiatek will easily win the match against Pliskova, the first set winning 6-0. Their first meet was last year on clay and it had to last 3 sets but apparently not for this game.

Edited: Swiatek won straight sets 6-0 6-0, I don't think this is the ideal final that's tennis lovers want to see
I had a strong feeling that Iga would win the encounter, especially after she dismantled 2 great opponents in Svitolina and Gauff in straight sets. I was expecting better from Pliskova though but Iga's defensive prowess and the ease with which she moves around on clay surface definitely came in handy. Pliskova anyways, is a tall hard court player who likes to hit winners by going for corners, not that easy on clay but surprisingly, she did it consistently enough to reach the finals. Too easy for the current French Open champion though.
I agree, she seems to be moving very well and there are images of here with twisted ankles but still she came back strong and bet Pliskova easily.

French Open will be a big test for Swiatek now, but with the strength of her winning this tournament, she will be one of the favorites together with Rafa.

Oh yes, both Swiatek and Rafa had super games, cant believe Pliskova had two Bagels,
her service wasnt working well at all. Swiatek though was very very strong, great performance.

Rafa had a tough one though, I really thought after the second set that Djokovic was in
the ascendancy but Rafa fought hard to get back and win.

RG will be very interesting.

I got INVALID BBCODE: close of unopened tag in table (1)
I tried to re-copy and paste the whole signature code and it looks like that there is a problem with the last parts of the code. When I copy the whole code, it will not save this last parts of it:
Code:
[/td][/tr][/table][/center]
.

Lets wait for it to be fixed Smiley

I think I might have solved it, but I cannot post the code

Delete some of the 3 black blocks just above
Code:

and then past
Code:

back in.

4270  Economy / Speculation / Re: Free falling Bitcoin on: May 17, 2021, 06:28:09 AM
Anyone who has been into Bitcoin since at least 2017 will be familiar with the
current trend. What is going on now is just a correction, its normal and it happened
in the 2017 bull cycle too, yet here we are in 2021 up at $45,000 - what does
that prove?

OP has to realise we may go lower but in a few weeks we will be leaving these
"low" $ values behind.

Dont be weak and sell now for others to buy your Bitcoin cheaply - HODL
4271  Economy / Speculation / Re: Get ready for the inevitable, huge correction coming. on: May 16, 2021, 08:30:52 PM
Im not so sure that Big investors are taking profits, their outlook over
the last few months was investing for the long term and hedging against
rising inflation.

Long term outlook means that day to day or week to week fluctuations
are not a concern.

There is definitely panic in the markets, most likely started by EM but
the panic is only from weak hands who bought i the last few months,
those yet to experience the power of HODL
4272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours on: May 16, 2021, 01:48:13 PM
Thats making things a bit complicated @Timelord2067, Putting a spread bet
on with points, but close in the end with 2 bloody points.

This weekend in the NRL I am 5 from 5, happy with that, I havent made any
picks myself for R11, I'll dom that tonight I think and hopefully get decent odds.

This weekend in the Pro14 Rainbow Cup saw my home team beat a strong Munster
side [beaten finalists in the Pro14 Competition itself], Connaught finished the game
4 points clear, great result and one I didnt call.

The table so far with one game to play later today [Dragons v Ospreys]:

I will update later ith the southern conference table

EDIT:::

Looks like the Pro14 website is down, I took this screenshot from the Wiki page for
the competition.

Next round of games are in two weeks time and the final between a northern Hemisphere
team and a southern one on the 19 of June.
4273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will grow in the next six months on: May 16, 2021, 09:19:28 AM
A lot more could and can happen to Bitcoin in the next 6 months for sure.

Bitcoin has been following PlanB's STF model, even in these difficult
few weeks we are still "on target" which is remarkable.

Again over the last few weeks of sideways price movement everyone
has got a dose of reality, Bitcoin cannot and will not continue upwards at
a constant rate, there are distractions for the non believers, like Ethereum
and other $hitcoins but like 2013 & 2017 Bitcoin will overshadow all
4274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours on: May 16, 2021, 08:58:37 AM
I have 4 from 5 in the NRL ATM with The Panthers leading The Titans 12-0.

Storm had a great win over The Dragons after they had a man sent off.
Addo Carr in top form with a hat trick again this weekend.
4275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Colonial Pipeline paid 75 BTC ransomware to DarkSide hackers on: May 15, 2021, 07:01:18 PM
This is a really tricky situation to be in, can hackers be trusted to actually release the owners
data once the ransom is paid.

Such a position to be in to have to make that decision.

What ever happened to backing up data?

4276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto has become the rich man's playground... on: May 15, 2021, 11:33:15 AM
Really? Let's see what happens when the average Joe doesn't buy his cars anymore, doesn't support his actions anymore, starts boycott him and his products, let's see what happens then when the average Joe doesn't give a *.

I think things should be seen in a much broader context than that EM may have angered people who support Bitcoin, because honestly we are still a minority if we consider how many of us there are globally. The average Joe (especially in the US) doesn't care too much about not being able to buy a car with BTC, so he won't boycott EM because of his moves - and if you look at his Twitter profile the current figure is 54.7 million followers - and maybe a month ago there were only 52 million. EM is very firmly connected to government structures and no matter what and how it works, no one will remove it from the throne so soon.

As for the rich starting to take over the game, that’s a fact, and we can’t escape it - but they behave like most ordinary people who didn’t believe BTC could get this far until it exploded in late 2017. Even then, they didn't start to accumulate, because they had to wait for them to be legally allowed to do so - and the whole thing didn't really roll until Q4 2020 when MicroStrategy made its first big move.

The question for you who have been in crypto since 2013 and all those who have been there for years is why didn’t we invest more and leave them less if we could have guessed what would happen? There isn't much difference in the minds of us and them, they just have a lot more money to invest without risking their own existence.

...and as for the average joe who is a big follower of EM, if he is promoting DOGE for
example they are going to believe he can make them wealthy, if he says Bitcoin
they will move, if he says no to Bitcoin, yes to DOGE, they will move accordingly.

Its true about this saying "Money makes Money" but as I said earlier low income
earners have a limit on what type of investments they can make but there are no
limits with Bitcoin.

My Brother and I are constantly saying, "if we knew then what we know now" !
4277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours on: May 15, 2021, 05:57:31 AM
I have a few bets on the NRL this weekend, starting today with the Rabbitohs v the Sharks.
Hopefully the Rabbitohs can rebound after the thrashing they got last weekend.

And speaking of which I also have Storm against The Dragons because of that very thrashing.

I have picked the Roosters (v Cowboys), Eels (v Warriors) and a safe enough bet on the Panthers (v Titans)
4278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 14, 2021, 08:20:23 PM
How I hate these rain breaks. I have a bet on Tsitsipas to take at least one set and now I have to wait hours for it to finish. What is worse, Djokovic will probably come out swinging and turn it around.

How did Delbonis manage to loose against Opelka? I was sure this will be 2:0 victory for him. Good thing I did not have time to make the bet, would have been a big one.

That was fate Trofo, luckily!

Would love to see Tsitsipas beat Djokovic, I am really turned off by his on court
manners, he used to be my favourite player, not any more.

Nadal had a 2 set win over Zverev today also, something I really didnt expect, im actually
impressed with Nadal in Rome, he is struggling a bit but still finds ways to win.
4279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto has become the rich man's playground... on: May 14, 2021, 08:13:13 PM
I wouldn't say "crypto" because not all cryptos are billionaires game and neither they are interested in all cryptos. But this is especially true for Bitcoin definitely. Being a pioneer cryptocurrency, bitcoin has always stayed in the center of attraction. So whenever billionaires or corporates have decided to go ahead with crypto investment, they have only chosen bitcoin, nothing else!

Jemie and Warren has already shown the way and Elon has taken it forward. But I think the crypto market will soon stop responding to these billionaires after learning from expensive mistakes.

Thats it, the smart money is coming into Bitcoin, and staying in Bitcoin.

The weak hands bought Bitcoin on the rise and sell it on the fall.

There are also those who follow EM to the death in the hope that they
can follow his money making expertise...

While we see high wealth companies and individuals buying Millions worth
of Bitcoin, anyone can buy it too with almost any amount of FIAT, so its not
exclusively for wealthy people.
4280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which crypto should I invest? on: May 14, 2021, 04:08:01 PM
Something tells me that a suggestion of BITCOIN being the best investment for
the OP isnt really going to cut it, compared to "Safemoon" which is a really sound
investment because it is a SAFE investment which promises an investment
will increase in value "To the MOON"

SAFE + MOON = no brainer (literally)
