4261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel this pressure on physical gambling? on: May 14, 2020, 07:58:26 AM
Yes and I think it is natural for a gambler who is losing,

You will feel the pressure if you really want to win which is hard to avoid because when you are inside a physical casino, you have nothing in your mind but to win. You won't even notice the amount of money that you already lose because you will lose your control.
Gambling does not put pressure to the players, in my opinion there is no such thing as pressure when you are gambling, why would you put yourself in a position where you are forced to play and not to enjoy it, gambling should be fun and engaging but putting yourself in an unnecessary pressure makes the experience worthless. There is pressure when money is involved but gambling should be different, for me, mentality is enough to make this so called pressure at bay. Also if you are constantly losing then you are doing something wrong, you are putting pressure to yourself because you want to breakeven the money that you spent with gambling, my advice for that is to stop and take a breather, get off the table and clear your mind, remember that pressure is just a mentality and you can erase that if you are  eager.

Physical gambling do put pressure but I think that the pressure that are on work there is not individual, it is more on social. This kind of pressure can easily be shrugged off, and I think that the word pressure when it comes to gambling has been generalized so much that we can't tell the difference of social and personal pressure.
4262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did Covid-19 affect crypto gambling? on: May 14, 2020, 06:07:17 AM
I don't think it affects that much negatively on the gambling industry but I think the appropriate answer was it affect positively as many people who prefers physical casinos have turn into online gambling specifically crypto gambling.
With the pandemic currently ravaging the world, the influx of people that have been gambling on casinos and playing online during the quarantine is very high. Gambling patrons will surely try this option since most of the casinos and gambling houses closed (saved for those illegal). In my opinion, this pandemic helped many online business peosper for obvious reasons and this is also very good PR for the online businesses because they are getting recognized by more people. My advice to people wanting to invest in something, try online casinos or better yet try kickstarting an online business.
4263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering More or Wagering Less on: May 14, 2020, 04:45:05 AM
It's a general perception that if we gamble more, we can get more profit. Also we see gambling sites offering wagering competitions. The more you wager, you become eligible for a reward or prize money.

What's your thoughts on this? Wagering more makes you win more money in gambling?
The promotion of wagering more and earning rewards by the house(the gambling site) is just another marketing ploy to garner more earning because as we all know the chances of winning in a gambling has always been in favor of the house, it is just a simple bait and switch that businesses of different walks of life have used for a long time, it is like those 50% discount for gym memberships where they condition the consumers that they are missing out something. I agree that wagering more let's you win more but if you where to weigh the risk that are in play, it is not worth it.
4264  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why You choose Crypto Trading instead of Forex Trading. on: May 13, 2020, 07:43:51 AM
Why do you decides to trade crypto despite the more stable and regulated forex market?
The stability is the very reason that I personally choose cryptocurrency trading rather than forex trading. Crypto trading has days where there will be constant dips and that can be an opportunity for traders to buy a piece at low price and profit large amounts when the price of the said cryptocurrency skyrockets, meanwhile in forex trading you are wishing for instability of the government so that you can buy more and the profit margin is very low.
4265  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trade & investment is getting harder and harder. on: May 13, 2020, 06:42:02 AM
Maybe the reason that your investments and trades are not bearing fruit is that you lack patience, especially in the investment route, having a quick buck there does not come easy, there will be compound interests that will only get bigger as time goes by, when you trade patience helps you make good decisions like selling out the investment when it dips too far. The other reason might be that you are making investing and trading your job which at first will never be fruitful, have a job that sustains the basic needs then set aside the money that you use for trading and investment.
4266  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is Best Trading or Freelancing? on: May 13, 2020, 05:24:40 AM
For me both are beneficial and they can be good if they are done in order, if you want a quick buck while you are still a student, you can do a free lancing and if you want to earn more then that is where the trading comes in, you will need to save funds for your start up in trading because there will be a lot of losses at first. I am currently doing freelance and all the money that I get is not spent because I plan to do trading and investing, and while I am not trading yet, I am learning as much as I can about trading and investing because learning is constant. In my opinion, trading and freelancing works best if you use and utilize them both.
4267  Economy / Economics / Re: Layoffs Start Turning From Temporary to Permanent Across America on: May 13, 2020, 04:38:37 AM
The reason that this lay-offs are getting permanent is that the infection chain is getting longer and the people are not following the measures to prevent the further spread of the virus, I am not saying that all of this is the fault of the people, they are the most affected in this pandemic, so they should atleast do their part when it comes to this problem. In my opinion the government should focus on keeping the chances of infections low and welfare of their people, this things should go hand in hand because flattening the curve while making the masses satisfied with the government's help is an achievement.
4268  Economy / Economics / Re: Some Strategies to Face the Next Crisis on: May 13, 2020, 02:58:43 AM
I also want to add mate about having second source of income inorder that there's assurance that there is money to be save for future usage because in some countries salary are just in an minimum wage which cannot sustains family needs most especially if we have kids.Maybe some online works or online selling inorder that daily works cannot be affected.
I do not think that having a secondary source of income is enough, sure it will generate some cash but it wouldn't be enough. Maybe have two or more side hustle, I think it is better, there are so many things the internet offer for easy cash. Also start considering investments when you become financially stable because these passive income lets the money work for you. Also try applying for credit card and use it wisely then pay it when it is due to increase your credit score.
4269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto casinos pros and cons on: May 12, 2020, 10:19:06 AM
Pros
1. Online casinos can be accesed at the comfort of your home, no hustle and bustle to travel to a physical casino. Convenience is the best selling point here.
2. You can play as low as 10$, no need for deposits like chips where you can't spend when you get out of the casino.
3. There are so many games you can play at the casino but you do not have the time to look for them but luckily online casinos organizes the games you can play on and you will not spend time to find that poker table in a maze-like casino.
4. The site owners cares for their patrons by givng them rewards for playing at their site, the rewards varies per site but all of the rewards are enough to keep a patron or two.
5. Privacy is offered to people who does not want to share their gambling activities to other people, good thing about that is the site takes care of that for people who wants the comfort of privacy while gambling.

Cons
1. With the convenience being catered by the online casino is a double-edged sword, on one hand is easy access but on the other means that anyone can gamble, the site can't monitor the age of the player so that will mean that online gambling will be a hotbed for minors gambling.
2. Without the physical contact, chances are high that the site you might be playing will have a rogue that rigs the games making it favorable to the operator and without the players knowledge, they can get off scot free.
3. The appeal of physical touch is lost, it may not be a problem for many but there are others who want that sentimental feeling while gambling.
4. Legal issues are a problem for some sites because they are expected to pay their taxes, and to make sure that they are not promoting illegal gambling.
4270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Gambling Life During Quarantine on: May 12, 2020, 08:15:33 AM
So,...
-how's it going when it goes to your daily life?
-how's it going when it comes to your social life?
And lastly...
-how's it going when it comes to your gambling life?
So what do you think? Do it really had a big difference?
1. Nothing much, watching Youtube videos, if the Internet is good, some anime or movies will be on the binge list. Reading manga and waiting for the announcement in my college about what to do next.
2. Talking to my friends from time to time, there is Messenger and Facebook to communicate so nothing much changed. I just miss playing Dota2 and Dead by Daylight with my friends though.
3. Everything is in control, I recently downloaded an Poker app in my phone, and I can't get enough of it, the online mode of it is nice to simulate real life gambling, I hate that there is only a fixed game interaction and that is all there is to it. Thanks to this, my habit to gamble made me save my money and I am more than happy.
4. In my opinion, my habit hasn't changed that much, the gambling aspect was halted though, I am not that party person back when there is no pandemic so I do not noticed any change.
4271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vaccine against Covid-19 should be made before sports events will take place? on: May 12, 2020, 06:12:22 AM

a) wait for the vaccine even it will take years, end of the discussion
This is the best option for me and I think that many sports fan will agree, personally this is the biggest stake I will bet on because in my opinion it is better to be safe than sorry. The virus is a serious threat and having the people getting vaccinated for it will be a big help in the long run.

b) resume slowly with several considerations such as no audience, limited number of staffs or any important things to do before considering resuming, unless the area or place was heavily affected
If organizers were to resume sporting events, this will cause an influx of people gathering in mass causing an extension in infection to increase because there is a virus that went to the event and unknowingly infected people. Making conditions that were mentioned above will be ineffective because no matter the measure they will take, and no matter how tight the security is, there will be people who will slip the cracks and mistakes will be committed. In my opinion, limiting the number of people watching the sporting event is a loss for the organizer because there will be lesser ticket sales and tv broadcast is not enough for sports.
4272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be a professional gambler on your own way. on: May 12, 2020, 03:28:11 AM
so it is a matter of combination between skills and plans.
Having a plan to beat the house is important but what about being a professional player that wants to play poker? Wouldn't there be different plans depending on the game that you want to become a professional. I agree with the skills being involved with playing a game to have more chances of winning, in my opinion luck and skill go hand in hand when you are gambling, imagine drawing a royal flush in 5 card poker and the opponent gets the better of you and bluffs.
Every successful professional gamblers treat gambling as a sport and like disciplined athletes, they don't let their emotions get the better of them.
I do agree with players not getting  their emotions unchecked but not using emotions when they are playing for me is a missed oppurtunity, one example is in poker, having your emotions utilized to look like you are winning or losing makes things unpredictable.

4274  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Anyone else feels that US didn't take COVID-19 serious enough? on: May 11, 2020, 09:47:59 AM
I think the government is taking the pandemic serious, it is the people that are not taking the threat seriously. The government did the measures to prevent further spread but people still went to those events and made the infection chain longer, the problem right now is that everyone is claiming to be a scientist and stuff, this in turn made other confused on what to do with the situation. With fools inciting panic through misinformation and armchair scientist saying they know things are making things more worse. I am not saying that the government has done everything, they too lack and they are not perfect but most of the blame should be on the foolish mass that cause the panic.
4275  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Does Covid-19 comes from Bat or Because of Installation of 5G towers? on: May 11, 2020, 07:04:44 AM
Why is this posted on serious discussion, these are baseless speculation, the people who are saying that 5G towers are causing the spread of the coronavirus is crazy. I agree that we should respect free speech but we also should consider that with every word we say should be responsible, meaning that just because you can say anything means that you are right. Let me tell you again that there is no connection with the 5G towers ad the virus, not even coincidence because 5G towers have been there for a year for test phase and the virus has spread by late December. This are all just baseless things. Do not believe the lies, everyone wants the answer when it is right in front of them, and that answer is logic and reality.
4276  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Huawei without Google on: May 11, 2020, 04:43:47 AM
Google losing its app on Huawei phone is a big loss for the company, I am against most of the policy of China but letting go of a very big market is a regrettable decision for Google. I commend that Google did make a stand but in a business perspective they are losing. I find the tactic of Chinese government very strategic because they are using their population as a bargaining chip for businesses and country's affairs, though I feel sad that their citizen will never taste real freedom.
4277  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is better than Holding on: May 10, 2020, 01:40:28 PM
You are not inherently wrong, it is true that you better let your funds circulate and buy when low and sell when high, unlike holding where you are waiting when the pot is so sweet that you just full on sell all you hold, holding isn't bad too, I think both of them go hand in hand together and I like to digress to the topic about holding on the same market, stock market; in these market, you are better off holding your stocks rather than selling them because you will be missing out the dividends that is given to stock holders and it depends from company to company.
4278  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to buy - question to Hodlers on: May 10, 2020, 10:23:04 AM
My method of buying is when the price is low so that I can maximize the money that I will put into it, I think that it has been my mantra ever since my friend introduced me to bitcoin. I don't have problems with the way you spend your money to invest on bitcoin but I can see that you will be netting less profit because you are buying bitcoin no matter if the price goes up or not. My advice to Hodlers out there is to set a price where you are willing to let go of the bitcoin you are holding so that you will not wait for something that will result in fruitless endeavor.
4279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Mayor Wants to Re-open Casinos. Thoughts? on: May 10, 2020, 08:51:29 AM
My thoughts on that is the fact that the re-opening of casinos impose a large risk to people that will go and gamble and the people that works there too, my opinion is that this pandemic risks should not be set aside, no matter how much strict measures you are going to impose there will always be someone that will slip the crack and cause an increase in the people getting infected, this move for me no matter the reason is just a plain old corporate greed, I get that this is the biggest industry in their city but there should be other things that will support the economy.
4280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: House Edge vs. Luck - the Last Stand on: May 10, 2020, 06:28:48 AM
One thing that I can put my chips on is that you can use the house edge against the house, sure luck plays a big role when you are gambling but when you do not incorporate skill and you rely on luck all the time then you will inevitably lose, now back at the house edge, there is an exploit that you can use when you basically know the edge of every game in the house, this loops will not help you win in a sense but it will help you lose less which means that you can play more. In conclusion, luck is independent, skill is a must and edge is a double edged sword if you do not know about it.
