4281  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you feel about fluoride? on: July 01, 2014, 10:58:15 AM
Fluorosis can occur easily in young children, that's why young kids should refrain from using toothpaste until they learn to properly spit out the toothpaste instead of swallowing it.

.... Isn't that just down to not being stupid and parents teaching them how to brush their teeth properly than flouride itself?
4282  Economy / Economics / Re: Tally stick lasted 720 yrs. Was it the worlds 1st and most successful digital Cy on: July 01, 2014, 08:38:24 AM
Tally sticks were indeed used by Henry the 1st but the OP clearly doesn't have any idea of what he's talking about and yes a tally stick isn't a bloody digital currency, for it to be digital it has to be in a COMPUTER and they weren't invented back then.

Even though it is regularly perpetrated by people who want to sell it to you like with anything that does well, Gold and Silver have definitely been the most successful currencies in the past couple of thousand years, since people always regarded them as a store of value the precious metals never went away no matter how governments tried to mess with their national currencies just like now. You can't compare Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies with anything previously made because it is a brand new technology, the closest thing I have been able to find to them is P2P filesharing because it works a lot like that but instead of sharing internet connection speeds you're sharing computing power.

Good, they remembered Bitcoin Uganda Cheesy to me I think that's the best demonstration of what Bitcoin is capable of, for decades now the banks have been bleeding immigrants of all their money.
4284  Other / Off-topic / Re: How you drink your coffee? on: July 01, 2014, 08:18:30 AM

Yeah, I just want milk and coffee in my fucking drink thanks!

The greatest problem we have is misinformation. People simply do not comprehend why and how the economic policies of the post-war era are imploding. This whole agenda of socialism has sold a Utopian idea that the State is there for the people yet it is run by lawyers following their own self-interest. The pensions created for those in government drive the cost of government up exponentially with time. The political forces blame the rich and this merely creates a class warfare with no resolution for the future. Even confiscating all the wealth of the so-called rich will not sustain the system. Consequently, we just have to crash and burn and start all over again.

He's right, misinformation is our greatest problem, I call it lying or being wilfully ignorant though and I'm especially pissed off when people have a rant about socialism and communism and don't even seem to be able to define our current system properly which is namely corporatism and has nothing to do with socialism or communism.

The so called right wing of the political compass are particularly guilty of this, it pisses me off and I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian!

austerity measures can often lead to deflation which is much harder to control then inflation. Deflation often will lead to much less economic activity which is bad for an economy.

The deflation/inflation argument that has been perpetuated by neo-keynesians has been argued to death on this board, check it out, deflation is a symptom of inflation and hyperinflation of the money supply, not an actual problem as economists like to pretend, deflation is what happens when an economy corrects itself, so basically it's like a doctor trying to put drugs into a patient that's healing naturally to begin with.
4287  Other / Off-topic / Re: Meta Space Glasses Pro vs Google Glasses on: June 30, 2014, 01:42:37 AM
the say what you want tech is much easier and less human effort than the push button tech that required physical effort to get it to do something. The talk tech will only be easier if they can get it to as perfect as possible. This may still be a while away, but when they get it right it will be much faster and easier than typing.

It's a fucking button for fucks sake, it isn't fucking difficult to learn, the only excuse you have for not being able to use button based technology is having no use of your fingers god fucking damnit. In case you didn't know, this kind of thing is a pet hate of mine, it's like claiming that opening a door is difficult and it needs to be automated you fucking lazy assholes.
4288  Other / Off-topic / Re: Meta Space Glasses Pro vs Google Glasses on: June 30, 2014, 01:05:51 AM
Honestly I know we fantasize about this kind of thing in sci-fi and stuff but I don't see much point in it, what's the difference between pressing a button and saying what you want to do out loud? Neither is particularly difficult and frankly, less can go wrong with a button than it can with this voice control technology.

LOL! Is this actually real?!
4290  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why are mobile phones so cheap these days? on: June 29, 2014, 12:36:31 PM
It depends on which phones you're on about, iphones etc. are pretty damn expensive, but the basic thing is supply and demand, the western world has gotten so good at mass producing electronics that they can produce millions of chips and such at a moment's notice, you also have china who are pretty good at mass producing electronics even if they aren't great at designing their own stuff.

4292  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which anime do you like to watch? on: June 28, 2014, 10:35:51 PM
I found Seitokai Yakuindomo to be a really refreshing comedy anime, partly because they don't have those really really stereotypical 'perfect' and 'cute' ( actually really annoying at times ) girls, oh and there's dirty jokes in it, lots and lots of dirty jokes, speaking of which.

What's this?!

4294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "I want to help bitcoin startups," says karpeles on: June 28, 2014, 12:11:58 PM
Fuck off Karpeles >_< I don't need your help, I'm just going to consider you another of the many warnings from history that are everywhere if you know where to look.
4295  Other / Off-topic / Re: How vaccines cause autism. on: June 28, 2014, 11:57:56 AM
I have no problem with you wanting to go and die because of being anti-vaccine, just like I have no problem with intolerant assholes who want to be anti-gay all by themselves, that's their choice, what I do object to is how you scream so much about it and try to force this kind of bullshit on everyone else and convince them it's the truth.
4296  Other / Off-topic / Re: How vaccines cause autism. on: June 28, 2014, 11:38:25 AM
you halfwit, vaccines ARE the treatment, this is why so many in the world think Americans are stupid and I'm from the UK where we have this:

This is as stupid as when there are populations that get wiped out by aids etc. because they're so religious they refuse to wear a fucking condom, on a fairly ironic note though, they're proving Darwin's theory of evolution by doing this, since when did these forums get infested by so many neo-cons?
4297  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anonymous has a message for all the mega-banks who've oppressed us on: June 28, 2014, 10:17:52 AM
Yeah, I'm suspicious about this as well, probably going to be some kind of overhyped altcoin like others have said.
4298  Other / Meta / Re: Is there anyway to get rid of negative feedback given because Vod didnt like me? on: June 27, 2014, 10:32:23 PM
I wasnt trying to get a loan without collateral. I asked what would be appropriate collateral and becasue I didnt  have a predetermined collateral set yet he gave me bad feedback.

If you're asking for a loan without any collateral or kind of method of paying it back you're just asking for people to say no and be hostile, unfortunately, stalling for time is exactly the kind of tactic a scammer uses, I would say vod went overboard with this though if you didn't get any money off anyone. Can't count the number of deadbeats that come on here with the kind of "If you just give me a few more days" attitude and things like that on top of everything else, people are getting pretty sick of it I'm afraid, a lot of beggars around too, each with their own carefully constructed stories.
4299  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dota 2 tournament hits 10 million dollars on: June 27, 2014, 10:16:10 PM
And the games like that are just rock/paper/scissors holy shit >_< I mean, I'm not an asshole that will scream about banning gambling or anything but that does make me kind of depressed about it, at least pick a decent game like Counter Strike Source, it always makes me laugh about how people rant about how balanced starcraft is.

Lethn < Depressed person who knows about the mathematics behind these games and weeps for the industry
