4301  Economy / Speculation / Re: My story on: November 05, 2014, 04:06:47 PM
" Hold your bitcoins " is a wrong idea, currency needs to circulate, we all know
Yeah, im sure the guys that got rich because they hold for 2 years agree with you...
OP, I feel for you, we share a similar life story. Life is unfair, you are born and you are born short as fuck. In my case im 175cm and still feel short. Anyway fuck it, it's so unfair, things happen and it's a joke how some get so much luck. All early Bitcoin adopters that got rich got lucky, no exception. It's extra unfortunate that you bought right at 950 tho. I bought at 750, and I dont even own a whole BTC yet.
Not being rich sucks. Bitcoin sucks if you aren't an early adopter. And since no one can be an early adopter anymore and get rich, thats why it's crashing. They might as well continue being poor in fiat, being poor in BTC is as shitty.
4302  Economy / Economics / Re: Does China exactly ban bitcoin? on: November 05, 2014, 03:50:39 PM
they can't do this. If they could they would Wink
They can stop any exchange from converting BTC into CNY...
And they probably can stop stuff bought directly with BTC (without converting first) by inspecting every sent package. This may seem crazy but in China im sure they can get away with it.
4303  Economy / Economics / Re: When money dies on: November 05, 2014, 03:19:04 PM
The only talked about alternative to "no money" is RBU. Going back to gold standard is even more delusional than that.
4304  Economy / Economics / Re: Does this constant price drop lead to mining centralization? on: November 05, 2014, 03:14:09 PM
in principle mining is a form of investment, and each investment must have risk, high profit is something expected but we should not forget that there is a risk of loss in any investment, to minimize this loss every investment that we do have to go through the calculations very right

I think with the falling price of bitcoin now, requires us to not make investments in the form of mining ...  Cool

The problem is when the whole thing depends on people wanting to invest in mining to function. If people dont mine it's simply game over.

Not buying Bitcoins in 2009-2010
Buying Bitcoins in 2014.
4306  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Careful with BTC loans on: October 20, 2014, 11:26:01 AM
Loans and Bitcoins go together about as well as oil and water.

Never make gambling loans. That is a important thing to learn early as well in Bitcoinland.

But, if BTC pretends to be an actual currency, how will loans work? Because loans have to exist, otherwise unless you inherit money, you are out of the game if you want to start a business and whatnot..
4307  Economy / Economics / Re: Now one million merchants will drive selling pressure! on: October 19, 2014, 11:06:00 PM
Merchant is basic, now we need common folk using it. Why you want to call Bitcoin a currency, if you are sad that merchants adopt it? whats the point.
Price will go up, with higher demand, thats all.
4308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Scientist predicts world stock market collapse in 3 months on: October 19, 2014, 10:05:01 PM
This guy makes a living off doomsday proclamations. Google his name and you'll see concerned people discussing him in forums years ago about similar predictions that eventually came up empty.
It sounds like this guy more or less always says "the world is coming to an end" and eventually he is right so he claims to be right. I would personally not listen to him and would not call him a "scientist"

There are guys that make entire careers out of it, such as (in order of crazy claims): Max Keiser, Alex Jones, David Icke....

That pretty memorable, would use as wallpaper/10
4310  Economy / Speculation / Re: The BTC market is becoming like the alt pump and dump game on: October 19, 2014, 06:05:06 PM
280 one day, 350 a few days later, now heading back into the 300s?

This is the kind of stuff that gets us made fun of in the mainstream news.

What the fuck do you expect tho? It's Bitcoin. Since when has Bitcoin ever been known for it's price stability? serioulsy, one of the most famous gifs it's the rollercoaster one.
4311  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm happy Bitcoin is tanking because I love it on: October 19, 2014, 04:17:58 PM
There are so many of these 'buy Bitcoin now, it's so cheap' threads but they simply aren't true. I can't believe though there aren't more posts about how awesome this slow crash to oblivion is. We might actually get a second chance at this thing back at prices that were seen before. We might see 20$ Bitcoin in the future.

We all know it's going to be big some day and we should all realize it's been hyped well beyond what it probably should be at. I'll be buying Bitcoin probably around 20$. I hope the majority of bs investors do completely lose faith in Bitcoin just so I can buy in where we were a couple years ago.

I sold at ~600 realizing that there's no place for BC to go but down for quite some time. I think it's going to surprise people just how low it goes, remember though, it's still just as amazing as it ever was, it just got too big too fast. Everyone at some point is going to be afraid of it but not us. $30 dollars is too much for a Bitcoin right now.

It hasn't really started tanking yet, but there will be a tipping point where it will flash crash well below 100$. (My guess is probably right around the time that people realize this is a very likely possibility!)

The best part is that while you're buying at $20, it'll be me selling my bag to you before it drops to $0.xx.

You missed the sub $100 boat buds, and hoping that Bitcoin implodes to $20 so you can buy in speaks volumes (mainly greed, jealousy, and retardation).

Good luck with that.

It depends. When you pass a certain low treshhold the value enters a battle stage between boat jumpers and people that want to get in the boat. If the people that want to get in the boat want to get in big time, they will and the price will start going up as more people regret selling. Nothing guarantess a 0.xx scenareo once you pass what seems a very low price.
4312  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are people predicting the price going down? I predict it steadily growing on: October 19, 2014, 03:24:45 PM
Yes it's getting more "used", if by used you mean people like "Overstock" accepting it, and by accepting it you mean they sell at marketprice as soon as they get them. This is a problem. We need a real economy, that isnt.
4313  Economy / Economics / Re: What if Nigeria suddenly demanded that all the export would be done in btc? on: October 19, 2014, 03:02:28 PM
Do you think the average nigerian can afford a personal computer/smartphone? because I dont think so.

A lot of Nigerians have smartphones from what I saw, particularly the youngsters.

Most i've seen is really, really old cheap and used ones that would struggle when trying to deal with a wallet. All they could hope for is accessing it via an online wallet in blockchain.info I guess.
4314  Economy / Economics / Re: How profitable is BTC daytrading? on: October 19, 2014, 01:53:03 PM
Day trading is a lossing game statistically... can name ONE person making solid money off day trading cryptos?

I barely do a couple trades MONTHLY...
4315  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are people predicting the price going down? I predict it steadily growing on: October 19, 2014, 01:09:23 PM
Look at the fiat volumes on bitcoin exchanges, most of the fiat volume came in post-250. A significant portion of bitcoiners are underwater.
Hence, all the bearish sentiment. The price has not been steadily rising for most.

Yeah the MCD graphs show a dowtrend... OP TA analysts are trying to find a bottom before we can talk about a recover. If you trust in Bitcoin as I do we know it will go back up, but the interesting to focus at is on the Bottom so one can but a lot of cheap BTC.
4316  Economy / Speculation / Re: If You're Not Buying Bitcoin Now... Then You're Just Stupid. on: October 19, 2014, 12:20:09 PM
Yeah, though if you don't watch the price daily you're just as stupid.  I agree with buying now, excellent opportunity, but it could go lower.  Don't go all in at one price.  Buy daily instead.  I bought a bunch at $300, but I can't wait for it to go lower.

Bitcoin is heading south once again... I wonder what price it will stop at now? Maybe under 200 ?
If it goes to $100-$200, I'll throw in my entire life savings.  The real gains will come in mid to end of 2016.

Been waiting for a sub 200 dip to get in, with a sub 100 dip I sell all my gold and properties and go all in, dead serious.
We'll see 1K again guaranteed, the thing is, i have no idea when or what the bottom will be.
4317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to remove the Dust of 1 Satoshi Spam tx on: October 19, 2014, 11:28:13 AM
If I told you what those "specs of dust" will be worth one day, you wouldn't ask such a question.

Not much. If bitcoin should reach a price of US$50,000 that 1 satoshi will still only be worth US$ 0.0005.

So with a bitcoin price of even US$100,000 per coin that dust will still only be worth around a tenth of a cent.

Tell me, oh wise one, when 1 BTC = infinite US dollars, because fiat scrip no longer has any value, how much will one satoshi be worth then? Tough to say, isn't it?

Well, I don't know either, but I can guarantee it will be more than a tenth of a cent.

That makes no sense. Im not sure if you are even serious. Let's say 1 BTC = infinite US dollars. Then what can you buy with 1 BTC, the universe? it makes no sense.
4318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who uses "bits"? on: October 19, 2014, 11:24:53 AM
i personally prefer to just say 100 sats than 1 bit. it can be confusing

Same. I have become so used to seeing a bunch of 0's. 0.00005222 and whatnot. I just say 5222 sat, whatever. I only speak in terms of BTC or sat if its less than BTC. Im too dumb to think in terms of uBTC and whatnot.
