We never did test the $32 to $45 range. Maybe it's time we did.
That'll never happen, we're seeing plenty of buying action right now and it'll only skyrocket as and if the price seeps any lower. The panic selling is just about over and the bulls' fiat is picking off whatever coins they can and a market switcharoo is a coming.

Next for sale is Alana the Hula BTCeanie BTCaby. She retails for $9.99 USD... which means that she has risen in value over 1,000,000,000% since she was first created out of scraps in an Indonesian factory in 1996! Think of the potential! Any bidders?

N00b, you know nothing of Beanie Babies.  Just a get-rich-quick scheme 2 u, didn't even read the whitepaper, did u?  Fuck no is right!

Idiot traders are completely ruining the market. They won't stop til its dead. Enjoy your pump and dump beanie babies!
Did you take some shrooms tonight? They must be moldy and lacking in any sort of decent psychedelic whatsoever.

I can only imagine the commentary had this person been a noob during 2011 like, "cut your losses and your wrists!"  Grin
4325  Economy / Speculation / Re: What might the lowest possible price of Bitcoin be? on: January 13, 2015, 04:48:27 AM
This article says enough with all the blind optimism, given current conditions what is the lowest possible price?
http://www.thegreenminute.org/bitcoin.html

From this point of time it is $9. It cannot go lower than that. Unless something misplaces bitcoin, which is quite unlikely in current situations.

If price hits say $25, you can expect people to buy in hordes of bitcoin for a chance to become a millionaire sometimes in the future.
No chance, in this range you're seeing next to the last bit of panic sellers doing their thing and we're down to a very small % that is willing to sell at this point and the traders are realizing that. Buyers are holding the 244$ range after the drop and the potential final purge into the low 200s will trigger shitloads of buyers of all kinds scooping up last call on the cheap coins. Like, backing the fucking truck up and going all in like we've never seen. I just bought myself a nice lot and reserving the bulk of my available fiat if it sinks to or below the 220 mark. The rebound may surprise people. Wink

Do you have an issue/problem w/ paying people weekly, monthly or so? So, the new money buys out the other partner and then you keep decent records to keep the new holders happy or what? Just curious and am interested. So in the end, you're ultimately paying 2% a week during this downturn but how many clients to you have stopping by to purchase a week? just trying to get a measure my friend.

I'd also like to manage a way to eventually buy out peoples contracts.

Loans would need to be secured, for at least 30 days. Or some time to be determined.

So, if I'm reading this correctly you're looking for new 'partners' for a short term amount of time and then buy these people out at some point so that you own it outright. If this is the case and everything between the float and your decision to buy back is purely profit payouts, then is the original investment of 15-20 bitcoins being paid back in said total or an amount based upon the current pricing valuation of it in usd? Obviously, if coins could be worth an extra few hundred bucks in 3-6 months it could make more sense to just hold them rather than getting half the coinage back or less at some point.

Your simply lending my company coinage, it stays.in coinage at all times. Value wise.
it wouldn't entitle you to any portion of ownership of the.company, and I'd be able to pay back your loan with interest.
Fair enough, how long do you need the coins for and would the ongoing weekly profit payout be a bonus during this time frame over and above whatever interest is decided upon to be tacked on at the end? Or are these payments considered to be paying toward the principal and interest over a set amount of time? I'm just envisioning multiple investors here that may have differing levels of interest in mind which is why it had me thinking of partners at first.

4328  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-01-12] IHB News™ - Ross Ulbricht pleads not guilty on: January 12, 2015, 11:12:02 PM
Not to mention the judge has been stacking the deck against Ross' defense team by withholding certain pieces of evidence and witnesses against him. If the case indeed is spread across the world in such a fashion then this could be one hell of a story that draws much of the world's attention toward bitcoin.
4329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ross Ulbricht faces a potential life sentence starting tomorrow. on: January 12, 2015, 10:57:35 PM
Well, I'm sure we'll be getting a slew of media articles coming out about this soon so considering how negative the outcome could be for Ross, it could have a positive impact on pricing. However, this could be the perfect opportunity for traders to dump and take us down a notch prior to a launch of some kind. Just speculating of course, wish Ross the best luck possible.

Boehner's embrace of GOP rebels nudges House caucus to right

Quote
WASHINGTON (AP) — Die-hard House conservatives bungled a coup against House Speaker John Boehner but now look like winners, pushing Republicans farther right.

Rather than punish and isolate those who opposed him as leader, Boehner surprised many on Friday by embracing an immigration plan that's tougher than lawmakers had expected. It would block President Barack Obama's recent limits on deportations and undo protections for immigrants brought to the United States illegally as children.

The House is heading toward a vote Wednesday.

As the rebellious hard-liners celebrated, mainstream Republicans said Boehner's decision probably portends firmly conservative approaches to other issues. That would complicate life for some of the more moderate Senate Republicans and ensure fierce battles with the Democratic president.

Florida Rep. Richard Nugent, one of the 25 House Republicans who voted to oust Boehner, praised the Boehner-backed immigration plan.

We'll see at some point if this push to the right is for real or just smoke and mirrors. I have no reason to be optimistic until I see some action. Interesting times ahead not to mention what ends up happening in our bitcoinworld.
4331  Other / Politics & Society / People Separated From iPhones Suffer Psychological Effects, Study Finds on: January 12, 2015, 10:25:08 PM
Quote
COLUMBIA, Mo. (CBS St. Louis) — A new study finds that people separated from their iPhones could suffer serious psychological and physiological effects.

A study done by researchers from the University of Missouri found that users who were unable to answer their ringing iPhones while solving simple word search puzzles saw increases in their heart rates and blood pressure, while dealing with anxiety and unpleasantness. Researchers also found that the subjects’ performance decreased compared to those who had their iPhones in possession with them while completing similar word search puzzles.

To conduct the study, researchers told participants that the purpose of the experiment was to test the reliability of a new wireless blood pressure cuff. The subjects were then given word search puzzles to complete, the first time with their iPhone in their possession and the second time without it.

Researchers recorded the subjects’ heart rates and blood pressure while they completed the first puzzle with their iPhones. For the second puzzle, researchers told the participants that their iPhones needed to be placed further away from them because they were causing “Bluetooth interference” with the wirelessblood pressure cuff.

4332  Other / Politics & Society / Saudi prince: $100-a-barrel oil 'never' again on: January 12, 2015, 10:22:15 PM
Quote
Saudi billionaire businessman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal told me we will not see $100-a-barrel oil again. The plunge in oil prices has been one of the biggest stories of the year. And while cheap gasoline is good for consumers, the negative impact of a 50% decline in oil has been wide and deep, especially for major oil producers such as Saudi Arabia and Russia. Even oil-producing Texas has felt a hit. The astute investor and prince of the Saudi royal family spoke to me exclusively last week as prices spiraled below $50 a barrel. He also predicted the move would dampen what has been one of the big U.S. growth stories: the shale revolution. In fact, in the last two weeks, several major rig operators said they had received early cancellation notices for rig contracts. Companies apparently would rather pay to cancel rig agreements than keep drilling at these prices. His royal highness, who has been critical of Saudi Arabia's policies that have allowed prices to fall, called the theory of a plan to hurt Russian President Putin with cheap oil "baloney" and said the sharp sell-off has put the Saudis "in bed" with the Russians. The interview has been edited for clarity and length.

Too little too late? Kerry says he WILL go to Paris but only after U.S. was shamed for snubbing historic weekend rally of world leaders

Quote
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said he will now travel to Paris after the U.S. government was shamed for not joining a rally yesterday for victims of the French terror attacks.

The rally was attended by 40 world leaders, including British Prime Minister David Cameron and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, and a million people.

A staggering 3.7 million people gathered across France today to stage further defiant marches in a moving tribute to the 17 people killed in hostage sieges last week.

Kerry said at a news conference that U.S. officials had been 'deeply engaged' with French authorities almost immediately after the first attack occurred and had offered intelligence assistance.

As to criticism about the lack of a senior U.S. official at Sunday's March, Kerry said: 'I really think that this is sort of quibbling a little bit in the sense that our Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland was there and marched, our ambassador was there and marched, many people from the embassy were there and marched.

POLICE: AS MANY AS 6 PARIS TERROR SUSPECTS MAY BE AT LARGE

Quote
PARIS (AP) -- As many as six members of a terrorist cell involved in the Paris attacks may still be at large, including a man who was seen driving a car registered to the widow of one of the gunmen, police officials said Monday.

Two French police officials also told The Associated Press that authorities were searching the Paris area for the Mini Cooper registered to Hayat Boumeddiene, the widow of Amedy Coulibaly. Turkish officials say she is now in Syria.

The disclosures came as France deployed 10,000 troops to protect sensitive sites - including Jewish schools and neighborhoods - in the wake of the attacks last week that killed 17 people last week. Brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi, as well as Coulibaly, their friend who claimed ties to Islamic extremists in the Middle East, died Friday in clashes with police.

4335  Other / Politics & Society / 'ISIS' Hacks Pentagon Social Media Accounts on: January 12, 2015, 10:12:21 PM
U.S. military social media accounts apparently hacked by Islamic State sympathizers

Quote
Hackers claiming allegiance to the Islamic State took control of the social media accounts of the U.S. military’s Central Command on Monday, posting threatening messages and propaganda videos, along with some military documents.

The command’s Twitter and YouTube accounts were eventually taken offline, but not before a string of tweets and the release of military documents, some of which listed contact information for senior military personnel. A Centcom spokesman confirmed their accounts were “compromised,” and that the military was investigating.

Virtually all of the documents posted appear to already have been publicly available online, but the incident is nevertheless embarrassing to the U.S. military. Centcom oversees the U.S. military campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, and frequently posts videos of airstrikes on the same accounts attacked Monday.

4336  Other / Politics & Society / 2012 GOP VP Candidate Paul Ryan Won't Seek 2016 Nomination on: January 12, 2015, 09:50:44 PM
Quote
There will be no 2016 presidential campaign for Paul Ryan, the Wisconsin Republican told the Journal Sentinel Monday, saying he wants to devote his undivided attention to his new and influential role as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.

“I am where I am. I like where I am,” Ryan said in an interview Monday. “I feel like I can have a huge impact on the course of the debate in this country.”

Ryan’s decision removes one big name from a very long list of potential GOP candidates and provides a little more space in the race for fellow Wisconsinite Scott Walker, the second-term governor who appears to be increasingly serious about running for president in 2016.

Rand Taps Veteran Adviser for Likely 2016 Campaign (Chris LaCivita)
Quote
As Mr. Paul seeks to bridge the gap between his tea party base and the party’s establishment wing, Mr. LaCivita can offer perspective from both sides.

Most recently, he was dispatched to Kansas to help Sen. Pat Roberts beat back a challenge from an independent candidate, Greg Orman. Mr. LaCivita worked as political director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee in 2002 and in 2010, during Sen. Paul’s Senate campaign.

He has also worked for several political outsiders, including former Florida Rep. Allen West and Connecticut Senate candidate Linda McMahon. In 2013, Mr. LaCivita helped lead Ken Cuccinelli’s failed gubernatorial campaign in Virginia.

Mr. LaCivita’s no-holds-barred reputation comes from his role helping to orchestrate the Swift Boat attacks against John Kerry’s military record in the 2004 presidential campaign.
