I voted yes.  Look at that cryptsy thread with spoetnik and gleb spam posting all over it--it's all noise and no signal and I'd like to just not even see that either one has posted.  It's not a perfect suggestion but it's a good one.
Yeah, I agree. They are so annoying. More annoying than that mumu girl.

Hopefully the admin takes OP's advice, and OP delivers the coding he promised.

Just make an add on, plug in, ...
4362  Other / New forum software / Re: The new "Show new replies to your posts" on: December 02, 2015, 09:09:41 PM
I prefer to use the watchlist, but it works everywhere.

Just click on "new" and you end up below the last post you viewed (and probably read). The little icon mexxer-2 suggest takes you to the last post (which might jump over a few you have not seen).

4363  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitcoinblackfriday.info - Do NOT use their website. on: December 02, 2015, 08:47:37 PM
-snip-
That could be true too but is there any proof the site owner didn't make those links?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If he did make this site, and manipulated everything in his favour, It wouldn't have run so smoothly!
Also, those are basic phishing sites. (did he create localbircoins.com, localbiecoins.com... ETC! You cannot pin all of the fishing sites related to that on him (though it would be easy to carry out!) PEOPLE SHOULD BE MORE CLEVER WITH THEIR BITCOINS! I find it a good idea to log into an account, on the official site, remembering me, clicking on the other link and if I am still logged in on the other link in the same browser site, then (to me) it appears slightly more legit!

#1 thats not proof.
#2 how come the site went offline so quickly after the scam was discovered if its legit?
#3 how come the person running the campaign was never seen again if its legit?

OKAY! YOU WANT PROOF?
The site went down, because, Black Friday had ENDED!
Why keep it up!
We have not heard of him because HE GOT NEGATIVE TRUST on the forum and so would have not used his account again as he would have been bullied by the community!
WHERE IS YOUR PROOF NOW?
ALSO: the site was supposed to go down after black friday, hence the signature campaign; it said FRIDAY 27TH NOVEMBER! Not FRIDAY 27TH NOVEMBER (AND ONWARD!)

I am speechless. My paranoia tells me you are involved somehow. At the very least you have a very odd understanding of proof. Also whats with all the yelling?

Anyway. Lets just debunk your "arguments". So blackfriday sites go down the second the day is over? -> http://bitcoinblackfriday.com/

People leave the forum because they got negative trust? -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=138471 (nothing personal, but your post was just above this)

4364  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin Vanity Addresses! on: December 02, 2015, 08:37:41 PM
Slick service!  I especially like the random entropy dots that fill the screen Smiley.  Mind if I ask what kind of hardware you've got executing the vanity addresses, or is it a trade secret?  I have generated a number of my own addresses on my rMBP with GeForce 750M.  For my needs it does the job well enough... I try to not make them too complicated.  I wonder how one of those $10,000 Mac Pros would fare... hmmm... 12 cores and dual AMD D700s...

No secret, its a single Geforce GTX 970. I wish I could run vanitygen on a titan[1] or something similar. 18,688 nodes with the equivalent of a 700er series GTX Titan. If we go purely by GFLOPS it should do ~860 billion keys per second, which is actually less than I expected. Well, electricity consumption of 3-4 wind turbines included.

4365  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin Vanity Addresses! on: December 02, 2015, 08:09:45 PM
Hi shorena I would be looking for a price for either 1doggy or 1shite not sure about the latter but just in case it is possible if not able the closet to it would do Smiley

1shite with exact case - 0.00021 btc
1shite with any case - donation
1doggy with exact case - 0.00021 btc
1doggy with any case - donation
1doggy or 1shite (whichever is found first) with exact case - 0.0001 btc
1doggy and 1shite (both) with exact case - 0.00032 btc (needs two pubkeys)
4366  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Private Key on: December 02, 2015, 08:03:48 PM
How do you trust vanity services I dont really get it!

The method is called split key generation. You create a private / public key pair. You give the public key to the person creating the vanity address for you. That person combines your public key with other newly generated public keys (ofc they generate private keys and get the public key from that). Out of the combined public key they generate the address and check if it matches your prefix. If it matches your prefix they have a partial private key that will result in the address if combined with your private key. The partial key alone is not enough to find the combined private key and only you know both parts.
4367  Other / MultiBit / Re: Desktop crashed, how can I retrieve my coins from my wallet? on: December 02, 2015, 05:53:37 PM
Thanks for that @knightdk. Just to confirm I have this correct, all I gotta do is download Multibit to my NEW desktop, login with my usual login details and then go through the whole restore process. As I've mentioned at the top of this thread, I am now using a completely new desktop, the original desktop my wallet was installed on is dead.

Thanks guys.

#1 download multibit (make sure its the correct URL) -> https://multibit.org/
#2 install multibit
#3 restore from seed (wallet words + timestamp), there is no login as there are no wallet files.
4368  Other / Meta / Re: acont baned on: December 02, 2015, 03:27:03 PM
Eh you know, I'm still not clear what happens when you create a new account to make a ban appeal(from the same IP ofc), does it have the perma-ban limitations as well? Asking this question, what exactly are the perma-ban limitations? Cause OP already seems to have made another post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1273168.msg13130198#msg13130198
And yeah, reaaaal bad grammar.

Thats a clear ban evasion.
4369  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is it possible to guess a privkey? on: December 02, 2015, 10:34:49 AM
excellent, thank you.

CLAM distribut(s|ed) its coins that way.
4370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin QT not synching on: December 02, 2015, 10:33:25 AM
Appreciated.  The transaction confirmed last night.  I've made copies of the wallet.  Is there anything else I could do for security or is that enough?  BTW, who gets paid the transaction fees?

To secure an electurm wallet you have to #1 keep the seed safe (preferably offline), #2 have a strong password and #3 keep your machine free from malware. As long as you have your seed you can forget your password, as long as your password is strong enough and you have no keylogger on your system you can risk that the wallet file is stolen.

The fee is part of the reward for miners to find a block. Currently they also get a 25 BTC bonus, but over time the bonus will decrease (halfes every 4 years) and fees will be the only incentive for miners to find blocks.
4371  Other / Meta / Re: Why is the activity required for Legendary random? on: December 02, 2015, 10:19:34 AM
Doesn't anybody think this user is farming for activity? --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=542808;sa=showPosts

Thanks for the NSFW warning.

In this case, he might have to wait for a longer duration to become a legendary member.

No.

Theymos must be using a different algorithm for ranking legendary members.

A different algorithm compared to what? The algorithm to determine when you will be legendary was posted by theymos. It only relies on the user id and a secret hash that is identical for all users but unknown to anyone without database access.
4372  Other / Meta / Re: hacked account on: December 02, 2015, 08:01:31 AM
I agree that all the things said in the topic by equator are correct but he didn't pay me a penny and i was messaging him on facebook for about a week, but didn't got any reply.
I sold him the account because i was in urgent need of money at that time, but now everything is wasted.
I also said him that i will scam accouse him on the forum if he do not replies to my messages, but in vein.

Then at last, i thought that i am scammed again on the forum, then i thought that i should take back the account by creating new dummy account and by this my own account(this account) will not get involved in this accousation and will get back my equator account.

But after creating this thread about hacked account, he messaged me on facebook and said sorry for not replying.
And said that there was a problem in his pc(but chat showed that he was reading my messages daily and was also daily online). So you tell me, what wrong did i do? I am not scamming anyone or spamming the forum. This was to get back that account.
4373  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: December 02, 2015, 06:48:40 AM

Added obits -> http://pastebin.com/fDfr45Kh

Did not update E-Coin because its in CFNP, but I will keep it in mind.

BTW another monthly campaign will be started this month, so will it be categorized into PYNC once again?

A new one?
4374  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Betcoin.tm wouldn't process my withdraw on: December 01, 2015, 09:36:15 PM
Get this I applied for the 0.010 bonus round 2 on Betcoin.tm. I received a pm the following day and was shocked to see that my password had "fag" in it which I took as an insult. I then logged into my account and played a few hands of blackjack I cleared the requirements for the withdraw and thought well what a nice casino. I decided to withdraw my winnings but it asked me to sign my Bitcoin address which I can't do on Mycelium so I pmed betcointm to help me process my withdraw he replied politely and asked for my username and Bitcoin address that was the 28th of November and it is now 1st of December and still no reply. So I went to his casino and thought if he can't even pay out the winnings them I'm going to lose them. SCAM STAY AWAY ONLY WANTS TO TAKE YOUR MONEY
Reister a blockchain wallet, withdraw the funds to the blockchain walllet and from there send to your other wallet. Problem solved!

They are absolutely not scammers. I have played the promotion and got my withdraw within a few hours.

That is funny you left a comment and disappeared ? Tx ?

You can sign a message with mycelium, I made a tutorial here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0
Let me know if you need any help or if anything is confusing so I can improve it if needed.

Other than that I was recently offered a 0.01 bonus with betcoin.tm and a quick search did not bring up a good past.
4375  Other / Meta / Re: hacked account on: December 01, 2015, 09:19:29 PM
please i have purchased this account from Aakash Sangwan, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=496523, this is not hacked account , please dont give me red trust i will be get out of the signature campaign.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=496523

this is the person who had autioned this account and i purchased him after the winner not payed him.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1247340.0

this is the auction which he conducted and after the winner not paid him i have contacted him and he sold me this account.

he got introduced me from indiabet.com site and we got friends and then he gave me details about bitcointalk site and signature campaign and how to earn bitcoins fast, like this we became friends, last time when i was chating he told that he is going to auction his accounts and after that he told that EQUATOR account got sold but the winner is not paying, so i told him that i will buy but i will pay you after 1 month after i enroll in signature campaign and get the payout after that i will pay you, he agreed and then i build this account till full member , and now last week he started to ask money and i told him i have just got build it up wait as their is still some time i will pay you and now i am seeing that he created a new dumy account and accusing that this account is hacked , now he is scaming this account.
Wow, nice story anyone would have fall for it.

I don't know why you people are taking me into the
middle of this conflict, but this equator account
doesn't belong with me and i've never talked with
this person who is claiming to be my friend. I've
spent a lot of my time on my account, so please
don't involve me in these kind of things. And you claim that you have talked to me on
facebook then let me be clear to you that fb
messages are stored online and they cannot be
deleted by any other person other than you. So if
you have valid proofs that you have talked to me
then show us the proofs and if not then please don't spoil my reputation.

So you farmed the account originally and sold it with the private key?
no, lol. I didn't had equator account with me. Equator is not my account.

But it matches perfectly with your auction. -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1247340.0

Care to tell me (can be via PM) which account you sold instead?

You can sell it here in the digital goods section -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=93.0

Since your account was litteraly just created I suggest you offer escrow.

Here is a list -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0

Nobody seems to be interested what did I do wrong?https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1271848.msg13115749#msg13115749

I dont see anything wrong. You can bump it every 24 hours to put in back on top. Sometimes it takes a bit to find someone.

Nah, no burnings today.

Thanks once again.  I didn't press the broadcast button. Now that I have the transaction is showing as pending in both wallets.  Presumably it'll be confirmed soon enough.  I'm still trying to get my head around how Bitcoin works.  It seems very hit and miss to me at the moment, and risky and a bit stressful as a result.  But at least now I have a functional walet that I can make some sense of thanks to all of you!  Cheers.

It will get easier. If you have questions just ask.

1.Close wallet.
2.Delete your 'blocks' and 'chainstate' folder in your 'C:/User/appdata/roaming/bitcoin/'  folder.
3.Open wallet.
4.Profit.

***NOTE*** DO NOT DELETE WALLET.DAT FOLDER. In fact, this is an excellent time to back up that file as it contains all of your addresses and c0ainZ.
