4361  Bitcoin / Press / [2021-02-10] Brighter future for bitcoin or beginning of self destruction? on: February 10, 2021, 02:48:16 AM
This is an old article I just read. Everyone should read it also.

I am afraid that we have become very distracted because of the billionaire hype and the pump to all time highs. We might have forgotten about more concerning news on bitcoin. I like the pump, I hope it does not stop, however, this should also be concerning.

Crypto wallet providers aren’t the only companies adjusting to the prospect of a more stringent regulatory environment. Two of the largest Bitcoin mining companies in North America, Marathon Patent Inc. and DMG Blockchain Solutions Inc., recently joined forces to create the Digital Currency Miners of North America (DCMNA) nonprofit trade group, the first North American mining pool with a legal entity. Together, they're pledging to only process transactions that comply with American laws.

4362  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-02-08] BREAKING NEWS: TESLA BOUGHT $1.5 BILLION IN BITCOIN — SEC on: February 10, 2021, 02:19:07 AM
@Theb. Agreed! However, from bitcoin’s price today, how much is it to maximize their returns? Triple the price? I speculate Tesla is expecting not less than 5x profit from the trade. This might only be beginning. Other billionaires are also beginning to consider bitcoin. The bear market will be intruiging, however hehehe.
4363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Mexican billionaire changes Twitter bio to Bitcoin on: February 10, 2021, 01:32:45 AM
This appears that Michael Saylor and Elon Musk were only the beginning. I never gave much consideration to the prediction of $100k, I am a realist. However, with more billionaires pumping this, I might need to adjust my imagination on where the present bull market might end hehe.

Mexico’s second wealthiest man, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, has just changed his Twitter biography to Bitcoin. He joins the ranks of many rich folks who brandish their allegiance to BTC with pride in their bios, including MicroStrategy’s Michael Saylor, Skybridge’s Anthony Scaramucci, and, for a brief spell, the world’s richest man, Elon Musk.

Salinas is the founder and chairman of Grupo Salinas, a Mexican media and retail conglomerate comprising TV Elektra, the country’s second-largest broadcaster, and Grupo Elektra, a home appliance and electronics retailer.

4364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BEST GAMBLING MOVIES OF ALL TIME on: February 09, 2021, 04:52:23 AM
I have not seen this movie mentioned, titled Bookies. This is about 3 college students who always lose in sportsbetting but created their own sportsbook in their dorm room. This might be a similar story on how some of the sportsbooks began in the cryptospace hehe.

4365  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-02-09] Cointelegraph: Will Apple be the next company to adopt Bitcoin? on: February 09, 2021, 04:37:27 AM
@orions.belt19. It can be argued that they might invest in bitcoin with their cash on hand if Apple was not looking for a partner automaker to build the Apple car. However, it is also speculated that Apple wants to buy into an automaker and get an ownership stake with it. This will require all their cash on hand within their control before they can commit this to other investments, I reckon.
4366  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-02-08] BREAKING NEWS: TESLA BOUGHT $1.5 BILLION IN BITCOIN — SEC on: February 09, 2021, 03:33:56 AM

Yeah, I better be buying instead of making the announcement. What an idiot!  Grin

Ah there will be plenty more opportunities to buy, its just the dips will be higher I suspect.

Agreed. However, most newbies’ reactions to this is to buy other cheaper cryptocoins. Ethereum would certainly be the first receiver of discouraged bitcoin buyers hehe.

In any case, the next bear market will be an intruiging one if considering that Tesla is also a bagholder.
4367  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-02-09] Cointelegraph: Will Apple be the next company to adopt Bitcoin? on: February 09, 2021, 02:55:40 AM
Hehe that would be a good story, however, it will certainly not happen. Apple is busy looking for automakers as partner with and to build its Apple car. I reckon they will not invest their billions in something that does not produce anything.
4368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: February 08, 2021, 02:52:47 AM
@South Park. I predict Brady after witnessing how this game was played by both of the teams. If it was a much harder game for Tampa Bay it might be different. I reckon Gronk or someone from the defense like Shaq Barrett. There were only 2 MVPs from the defense in the last 10 superbowls, however.
4369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: February 08, 2021, 02:11:39 AM
It appears that this is game over after the sack and the interception. I am certain that the Chiefs are presently shattered psychologically and emotionally already.

Congratulations to Tampa Bay bettors out there.
4370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: February 08, 2021, 01:42:00 AM
Halftime. If anyone wants good in-game odds on KC - now's your time  Grin

It appears that the best propbets were all the Tom Brady overs. I remember the over rushing yards for Tom Brady was 0.5 in sportsbet.io. This might win also if the Chiefs do not make an adjustment.
4371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: February 08, 2021, 01:05:05 AM
Prediction. Travis Kelce to be this Superbowl's MVP if the Chiefs gets the victory!

Also, how would the drunk driving incident of Britt Reid affect the team's play as a whole? The skeptical me thinks this is a mafia type of set up and game fixing hehehehe.
4372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: February 08, 2021, 12:30:26 AM
@DireWolfM14. Be careful of that invitation. After this bull market many of us might make much money and fly to wherever you are and each bringing our own microbrews hehehe.

@suchmoon. What drinks are those?
4373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BEST GAMBLING MOVIES OF ALL TIME on: February 07, 2021, 06:17:36 AM
The Longshot, The Big Short,  The Cooler, The Hustler, California Split, Hard Eight, and Poolhall Junkies. I specifically skipped poker movies here because it is not true gambling. Also when two pool hustlers play against each other, it is largely gambling as luck is often a determining factor in who wins.

Agreed on The Big Short. It depicts the stupidity of people who gamble on derivatives or also called bets derived from the market. It is also a depiction of how markets can collapse during a situation when everyone does not expect it. Is the cryptospace in a similar setting hehehe?
4374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: February 07, 2021, 05:06:12 AM
@zasad@. I might be better to tally the hacked and stolen amounts in no. of coins instead in dollars. The value of those coins might be more than double than their value on the day of the hack or less than double 2 years after the hack.

In any case, what is your speculation for hacked Defi projects for 2021? Will 2021 be more than the hacked amount of 2020 or less hehe?
4375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: February 06, 2021, 05:01:38 AM
@zasad@. You should add the grand total of the hacked amount of coins in total no. of coins itself for 2020 and compare this with the grand total of hacked coins for 2021 during the end of this year hehe.

The future of Defi or any idea in the cryptospace will depend on security.
4376  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: February 06, 2021, 04:35:07 AM
I would like to ask if bittrex maybe restore withdrawal for legacy accounts owner as poloniex did?
Have some funds there and don't trust them. They  are changing rules constantly :s

There is no possbility of this. Bittrex is a banked exchange. They will always demand for KYC before you can withdraw unless they decide to remove real fiat deposits, withdrawals and real fiat trading from the exchange and only offer USDT similar to what Poloniex an other unbanked exchanges have done.
4377  Other / Archival / Re: Why you should not use Paypal for Bitcoin on: February 06, 2021, 03:39:11 AM
Has anyone in the forum tried to buy bitcoin through Paypal? Can you post your screenshots of the interface? Thank you.

I read a news article on Coindesk where it mentioned that users log in twice as much after users bought bitcoin. This might imply that Paypal has gamified the buying and selling of bitcoin and other cryptocoins and have created a new generation of gambling addicts.

Another reason not to use Paypal.
4378  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-01-27 Coindesk - BIS Chief Blasts Bitcoin’s Viability on: February 06, 2021, 02:38:05 AM
@Karartma1. Agreed. The hodl campaign was very likely to occur because of bitcoin’s monetary policy. I am not implying that the monetary policy created is a mistake, however, developers should explore other types of policies. We are only in the early stages of cryptoeconomics.

Looks like the Poirier trilogy fight is definitely in the works:

Quote
BEST OF THREE Conor McGregor ‘buzzing’ for Dustin Poirier trilogy ‘for all the marbles’ as American confirms it’s in the pipeline

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/13942303/conor-mcgregor-dustin-poirier-rematch-ufc/

Makes sense for everyone involved really especially if both fighters want it. It's going to be red panty night for Poirier for sure. I'm not sure who I'd pick in a rematch. Conor needs to get the job done though to get back on track. Losing again is going to put him back by quite a bit.

Quote
McGregor has tonight uploaded a lengthy caption on Instagram where he all-but confirms the two warriors will go at it for a third time for 'all the marbles'.

And the triumphant Poirier appeared to confirm it too, as he tweeted shortly after: "You know we are going to do it a third time."

Alongside a highlights video from the fight, former two-weight world champ McGregor wrote: "What a trilogy I now have on my hands. Exciting!

"With a handle on the leg kicks I will get back to having fun in there. I was in second gear cruising this fight. Best condition I’ve ever been in.

"After the wrestling and clinch exchanges my shots still held their pop. First time for me with this so I am very encouraged to keep going.

"It was the first time I did not use/nor need the stool between rounds also. I did need the stool after though that’s for sure.

"I am extremely happy I did not need to use the stool between rounds here anyway. Another first for me!

Maybe he should use the stool this time. It's going to be interesting seeing how he adapts his game and deals with those leg kicks which he's obviously going to be vary weary of. Is Poirier going to just keep kicking or try something else?

However, similar to show business, if the movie will not make the projected profit, it might not be produced hehe. Who would like to watch this? The timing would be wrong. Also, a fight vs. Nate Diaz and win might also not save Conor from his situation. He can short cut out of the situation by fighting Justin Gaethje and win, however hehehe.
