4381  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Kako Ukloniti Proxyban (evil fee) besplatno? on: July 30, 2021, 11:17:00 AM

4382  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: July 30, 2021, 07:48:43 AM
but can't you do the same already, by organizing giveaway on one of those airdrop sites and including posting on bitcointalk as one of the requirements to get the airdrop? Forum staff usually accepts that as a valid evidence of incentivizing posting, and deletes/archives the thread.
I don't visit airdrop sites, and I wouldn't use it as evidence. It this is abused and Mods delete a thread based on a fake site, I think it deserves a thread in Meta to complain about it.
While I can't find now some examples of my reports from airdrop sites, what I am 100% sure is that ANN threads usually get deleted if you provide screenshot of the the project's TG group stating that they are giving tokens in exchange for comments in thread. Like with everything else, Telegram groups are extremely easy to fake, you can even get tens of thousands of fake members for peanuts to appear group looking real and get the thread deleted.

Point is, if you really wanna get competitor's thread deleted or even reputation ruined, there are so many ways to do it. Anyway, it was just a suggestion that I think it could help clearing up the forum.
4383  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brand New member pay small evil fees. on: July 30, 2021, 07:33:36 AM
I hope you are not deploying scam tactic, there are members theymos gave whitelisting power, to be able to whitelist newbie account for free, all forum staff also can whitelist newbie not to pay the evil fee. All I can comment here is that no one should trust your account, also clear your negative trust. Newbies really need to be careful of your accounts because it should not be trusted as this seem more of an indirect scam attempt.

If anything, I think that OP could end up being scammed as account farmers might just spam him with requests to pay the evil fee, bullshiting about the reasons.

But as you said, since there are people who can whitelist legit users for free, there is no need to pay.
4384  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Small Rabbit - Bounty & Signature campaign SCAMMER - 25000$ on: July 30, 2021, 07:24:27 AM

I will request to Moderator. banned this scammer from this Forum
Since scams are not moderated on bitcointalk, he can't get banned over this. Hell, you could scam millions and still have your account here, it wouldn't make any difference. All we can do is to tag&flag @Small Rabbit and that's about it. Hopefully that should be enough so noone else on this forum will be willing to work with him/her.
4385  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: July 30, 2021, 07:09:38 AM
I wish mods get a little bit more strict and delete all ANN threads where 99.99% of the posts are made by sock puppet accounts.
That wouldn't be fair, as it can be abused to get competitors' threads deleted.
Yeah I am aware that could happen (even though its imho unlikely) but can't you do the same already, by organizing giveaway on one of those airdrop sites and including posting on bitcointalk as one of the requirements to get the airdrop? Forum staff usually accepts that as a valid evidence of incentivizing posting, and deletes/archives the thread.

If deleting is too drastic and could leads to manipulation, what could be done alternatively is to at least lock those threads until its confirmed that creator of Ann didn't have anything to do with it.
4386  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Kako Ukloniti Proxyban (evil fee) besplatno? on: July 30, 2021, 06:57:30 AM

4387  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: July 30, 2021, 06:50:54 AM
How exactly you managed to get that topic deleted?
This:
I've reported the OP only (for being a second thread owned by the same site).
They have another thread, and the Sticky topic states: One thread per site ONLY.
Ah, that explains it then. I thought  that I am missing something as that it's possible to get those ann threads deleted after all.

I can't find back (in my browser history) what exactly I typed, but I guess it was a reference to the other thread, and a link to show how many of the bumping service posts have been deleted already. Mod did the rest Cheesy
I wish mods get a little bit more strict and delete all ANN threads where 99.99% of the posts are made by sock puppet accounts. They could even use rule nr 1 as the basis for post deletion, "No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads.", since they obviously don't want to apply that rule about no incentivizing posting, even though it's obvious that someone is getting paid to spam there.
4388  Other / Meta / Re: How to be on the first page or top of the list on Announcements (Altcoins) board on: July 29, 2021, 02:50:45 PM
@aucoinmaster incase some of those "marketing agencies" (as they like to call themselves) contact you after seeing your thread, claiming that they can push your ANN thread to the top and create "organic" conversations and fake the interest, just ignore them. It doesn't look good at all and if anything can make your project look dodgy. You ANN might end up on this infamous  list of ANN threads that are using bumping services, where you can see some examples how bad that looks.
4389  Other / Meta / Re: Is Bitcointalk.org losing user base? on: July 29, 2021, 02:45:25 PM
I see on that thread that the YouTube channel is actually going to be launched shortly.
That idea had been posted here on the thread, so forum administrators are maybe reading lurking this thread.
This gives hope also to other good ideas surfaced here.
Keep contributing!
Yep, it looks like bitcointalk YouTube channel might go live very soon and I am really excited about it. People  nowadays spend shit load of time on YT (not just kids/teenagers, but grown ups too) so this might be a way to attract more people to bitcontalk, and even more to bitcoin!
4390  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to $150 from each sale | Affiliate Program | Cruise Vacations on: July 27, 2021, 05:45:09 PM
In the first 12 months of membership you can use up to 60% of you accumulated Cruise Dollars. That translates to $120 every month. The remaining $80 are not lost but are made available in the following years. So within 5 years you pay in $6000 but receive $12000.
You don't need to wait either, you can start spending your Cruise Dollars straight away. If the vacation is more expensive you are able to pay the difference out of pocket.
But that's just a tip of the iceberg, as inCruises is just throwing money and other perks at those that keep bringing new people in. First you get 150 USD for every new member that you bring, then you get 15  USD per month for every new member you refer as long as he keep paying for his membership, then there is a free cruise when you bring 5 new people in etc. The whole focus of this scheme is  to keep bringing new people in, as they need them in order to keep giving such bonuses. The only ones who are similarly aggressive when it comes to bringing new users in are pyramid/MLM schemes. I simply don't see a legit business model that can give such bonuses.

Funny thing, I found bunch of YT videos in which people are openly advertising this as a MLM Cheesy.

4391  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to $150 from each sale | Affiliate Program | Cruise Vacations on: July 27, 2021, 04:48:33 PM
The business model absolutely makes sense.
Let's say you want to buy an amazon.com gift card at a shop. You pay $100 for the gift card. The shop owner gets a 10% commission.
You go ahead and purchase an amazon kindle for $100 with said gift card. Where did the $10 suddenly come from?

Would gift cards be classed as pyramid schemes?
Ok, let's apply your business model to the gift card example. So, I come every month to a store and buy $100 amazon gift card, and every time I buy I get $200, which i can't use for another 12 months. After 1 year and spending $1200, now I have $2400 worth of gift cards. I wonder how long will it take for that store to go out of the business? How can that gift card reseller keep up with 100% bonus for every customer?

Two basic characteristics of pyramid scheme are here:
  • Big affiliate bonus so people have incentive to do drag their friends and family into this
  • Locking up funds to give you some more wiggle room, while new members are paying for the old ones.
4392  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: July 27, 2021, 04:23:27 PM
It's been a while since I've seen a bumping service alive. See this gambling thread: all Newbies posting irrelevant questions. There are currently 33 out of 91 posts left.
I've reported the OP only (for being a second thread owned by the same site).

Update: thread is deleted.
How exactly you managed to get that topic deleted? Did you report the first post to the mods, or mods did that by themselves? I am asking because I tried many times in the past to get threads that hired bumping service deleted, to no avail even though it was obvious to everyone what's going on.
4393  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to $150 from each sale | Affiliate Program | Cruise Vacations on: July 27, 2021, 04:14:14 PM

That's right. The member pays $100 a month. After 13 months you are allowed to use 70%. In the first 12 months it is 60%.

You forgot to explain from where that bonus comes from, as after 1 year of paying the membership you end up with 2400 Cruise Dollars, that you can then use for cruises.

No matter how you wrap it up, this still looks like another pyramid scheme, as that's the only way your business model can work. What would happen if new people stop buying membership, how could you pay old ones 100% yearly bonus?

Our business is very similar to a gym membership.

Never saw a gym with even remotely similar membership model.
4394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dollar Cost averaging help on: July 27, 2021, 02:46:41 PM
DCA indeed works, but only if you decide to buy something that is good for you long term hodl, meaning you should avoid 99.99% of the altcoins especially meme coins and other similar crap) and instead get something that can survive the bear market, which will inevitably come. The only alt I would consider buying using DCA is ETH and nothing else.

And yeah, something like buying $100 worth of crypto once per month is a good tactic. You don't have to save $1000 first and start investing, but simply buy as much crypto as you can (and how much you are willing to loose).
4395  Other / Meta / Re: Is Bitcointalk.org losing user base? on: July 27, 2021, 02:22:11 PM
I am not a Meta denizen, but I never heard of this. Can you point in the right direction? I would like the YT channel use my material/thread if needed!
I was referring to a thread that Cyrus started yesterday,  Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see?. I know that you are active in Meta, so I am surpried that you somehow missed that. Great initiative I think, if properly done it might popularize bitcointalk and bring some people.
4396  Other / Meta / Re: Is Bitcointalk.org losing user base? on: July 27, 2021, 02:06:14 PM
For sure there is some work to do, I don’t know still what, but this trend can be if not properly reversed, maybe mitigated.
Or at least it’s worth trying.

+1

This trend can be certainly slowed down (at least), and even that is worth trying. First step is to recognize that there is a problem, and I think that everyone now is well aware of that, (including the forum staff), given some of the recent measures like whitelisting those that got flagged for evil fee, and now there are even talks about bitcointalk YouTube channel.
4397  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to $150 from each sale | Affiliate Program | Cruise Vacations on: July 27, 2021, 10:31:51 AM
The offer makes absolutely no sense.

Whatever the ultimate company is, it is raking in $100 in signup fees and paying out apparently $2-3k worth of value.

From what I understand, you pay 100 usd per month, so it's not one time fee, but more of a subscription model, in which you invest 1200 usd in 12 months, and you get 2400 credit dollars. Trick is that after a year you can only use 60% of that amount, and each subsequent year it goes up by 10%, meaning it takes you 5 years to unlock that amount. Obvious question is from where all that bonus money comes, and even more obvious is the answer Cheesy

So yeah, I don't see how their business model can keep working if new people stop joining in, meaning this is probably just another pyramid scheme, hiding behind MLM.
4398  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to $150 from each sale | Affiliate Program | Cruise Vacations on: July 26, 2021, 09:36:03 PM
Just took a quick look at InCruise, and if anything it looks to me like a convoluted MLM scheme hidden behind cruises, discounts, referrals and usual mumbo jumbo typical for similar schemes that will work as long as there is constant influx of new people.

Care to explain how can someone get 2400 worth of "cruise credits"  that can be used for cruise vacations if you invest 1200 USD. That's 100% bonus that is coming out of thin air? (in this case most likely from new recruits).
4399  Other / Meta / Re: How does evil fee makes sense? on: July 26, 2021, 05:01:19 PM
When this situation with the evil fee happened to two of my friends, they actually immediately gave up this forum because they were shocked by such a request to pay the evil fee.
I think that part of the problem lies in the way that evil fee message is constructed. When a person who never visited bitcointalk before in his life (and  often knows very little about bitcoin) sees that "welcoming" message "Your IP address has previously been used for evil on this forum..." of course that strong reaction is expected, and in huge majority of cases they will go elsewhere. It's not 2011 anymore, people have plenty of other choices and in question is can this forum allow to loose potential good members over this. In the end, I know who won't have any issues paying the fee; those that are registering in order to profit.

I know its still early, but I have a question for those that have power to whitelist new users: any cases yet in which system flagged someone by mistake?

4400  Economy / Services / Re: Required Full Members, Members, Sr Members, Legendary for Signature Campaign on: July 26, 2021, 04:43:08 PM
For what purpose you will be launching your signature campaign as i don't see any project here or in your post history ?

I guess they plan to advertise their project NFT Gate, here is the website link https://nftgate.io/ . What I could understand from very limited amount of info on their website, they plan to be some sort of launchpad/platform for NFTs from various games.

@NFTGate  as others already told you, unless you know how signature campaigns work on this forum (by the way you started it doesn't look like you know this things usually work), its highly suggested that you hire someone to do the work for you. if you want it done in a proper way.
