4381  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Problem updating Ledger firmware. on: November 28, 2021, 09:05:19 AM
What app are you installing/uninstalling?

Ledger Live.

He got it fixed by installing the latest VeChain app on his device. Try and uninstall your apps manually before updating the firmware, maybe that will fix it. Or updating them to the newest versions.

Well. I may try that later on but the point is, I don't have any apps installed AFAIK. I mean, not extra apps. I just have bitcoin and I don't do transactions often, I mainly HODL. Last transactions I was using Electrum but I kept the Ledger Live installed precisely for the firmware updates.

Is your Ledger Live updated to the newest version which is currently 2.35.2?

Yes
4382  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 28, 2021, 07:47:31 AM
Well, here are the tricks that I've followed. If you want to buy $100 worth of BTC. Wait for a deep. If you see a dip, don't go all in. You can buy $30 worth of BTC. If it pumps, waits for a correction. If it deeps further buy more than $30 worth of BTC. Repeat the same process as long as you want to buy.

Here are another Tips, never sell in the loss. Suppose you bought some BTC on its All-time high. Don't panic and don't sell until it makes another All-time high.

Usually, I follow these steps. Don't go all in. Neither for cash out. Suppose you bought BTC at $50K. BTC hit its another all-time high of $80K Don't sell 100% of your portfolio to gain as much profit as possible. Who knows? It could hit another all-time high. Always buy partial amount, and sell partial amount. Never go for all in.

To be honest, I don't see the point in getting so complicated when you buy those amounts. If you buy amounts between $30 and $100, what you have to do is buy periodically and forget about what the market is doing. How much do your personal finances allow you to buy? $100 a week? A month? Buy that and forget about it. Another thing is that you tell me that you have been buying $100 a month for ten years and now you have many millions, so you have to consider selling in order not to have your wealth too concentrated in Bitcoin.

But otherwise, for small amounts, buy, buy, buy and buy again. At least that's what I do.
4383  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Problem updating Ledger firmware. on: November 28, 2021, 05:25:55 AM
I too saw the fixing of the error

If you look at it, it is not the same. I am talking about the error: 0X6d00 whereas that is error 0x6b00. Changes one letter. Although that is the only result that appears in Ledger's support page. On reddit there are several posts about the 0x6b00 error, but they didn't help me.

4384  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Problem updating Ledger firmware. on: November 28, 2021, 04:05:43 AM
I am trying to update the firmware but an error message appears:

"Something went wrong. Please reconnect your device.
Ledger device: INS_NOT_SUPPORTED (0X6doo)"

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and I get the same error.

I have searched google and there are some threads about that error, but curiously, in some of them the problem, which was another one, was solved by updating the firmware. The problem is that I can't update it.

If I use electrum, it doesn't matter if I don't update the firmware? I guess it is better to update, isn't it?
4385  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think Lightlord behavior is acceptable? on: November 27, 2021, 09:56:17 AM
That's entirely on them. You can't blame a campaign or site owner if someone keeps wearing their signature while the campaign is paused.

The campaign is currently paused by the campaign manager CB. So, it doesn’t make sense if you are taking that as a fact. People wearing the signature is to blame here. Why would they wear the signature if campaign is paused. Now if they wear willingly, lightlord isn’t responsible to pay them.

Here's a reminder for both of you. The campaign was not paused under normal conditions. It was paused because Lightlord owed 10 rounds and did not appear on the forum. So we can blame him because the campaign was paused.

It was not that Lightlord appeared saying that the campaign was stopped for certain reasons, Brainboss stopped it because he was forced to do so.

And yes, of course those who wear the signature is their problem, I'm not saying that he has to pay them, it's that we are again with Lightlord fails to communicate and we will have to consult the horoscope to know if and when he is going to restart the campaigns.

There were conversations between Lightlord and Braiboss about the escrow issue, so one could think that the campaigns were going to restart soon, I think it was a month or more ago. Let's see if Brainboss comes here and tells us what he knows.
4386  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think Lightlord behavior is acceptable? on: November 27, 2021, 09:06:39 AM
-snip

I see that you give Lightlord the benefit of the doubt, and I understand you, but I think he should communicate better. Do we have to assume that he is still sick? If he doesn't feel like saying anything, he could do it through Zodiac or someone who works for him.
4387  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think Lightlord behavior is acceptable? on: November 27, 2021, 08:37:33 AM
Bump.

I thought of commenting in this thread because I just responded in the official Bitvest.io thread to an accusation that my feedback to Lightlord is misleading.

I am now seriously thinking about locking the thread. If in the future there are more problems with Lightlord, other threads can be created.

Before that, I would like to know what you think.

What I see is that Lightlord, again, has failed to communicate. Since he paid, he has only posted one post on October 24 in his shitcoin thread to say that things would be back to normal in weeks.

There have been people wearing the signature of their casinos for weeks waiting for the campaigns to restart.

I don't know if CryptopreneurBrainboss will have any news on this.

I don't think I will remove/change Lightlord's feedback in the near future.

4388  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▄■▀■▄ 🌟BITVEST.io🌟 💰WIN BY 🔶PLAY 📈INVEST➡🔺🎲🎰🔲 | BET CONTEST ▄■▀■▄ on: November 27, 2021, 08:30:35 AM
That's not true , other feedback is about Him not letting withdrawal in His site as the Hot Wallet are empty and i believe this happens also in the past

this means dealing with him is not a good chance unless He changed for good .
I am not agree with this feedback specially for the second part which is considered withdrawal issues. I have gone thorough the reference link and also the reference which is mentioned on the reference link and I have not found any complain on the reference regarding withdrawal issue. Would you like to go through the reference link and check the trust is real or there is something mis-leading??

No. There is nothing misleading. The complaints about withdrawals delays occurred in this thread, and in the reputation thread I simply mentioned it but if you go back pages in this thread you will find them. Also, in the same thread you have a description of someone who complained in this thread, but he details what happened to him there:

Loyce's bot summoned me, so here I am  Smiley

Yes Poker Player is absolutely right, and the flag would have only been the beginning, I made that very clear to one of the mods. There are way more effective ways to hurt them really hard on top of creating flags.

The thing with the loss that didn't occur is that they were simply lucky in my case. I tried to withdraw a sizeable amount of Doge to sell for Bitcoin. At the time I requested the wd, price was at ~600 Sats, when I finally could withdraw it was still about in this range. If it had dropped by say 100 or even 200 Sats within this time I would have made a pretty big loss (USD and BTC-wise). But even with about the same price I could have easily lost on a missed opportunity (whatever, a car, a house that got sold otherwise in the meantime).

When I invested into bitvest I tried everything first with small amounts and did rely on their promise to be able to withdraw any amount within 18 hours backed on lightlord's excellent trust and reputation. But it was part of the agreement that I proposed that if I get my money on my last ultimatum that I won't follow-up on it in anyway, neither flags nor other measures I have had prepared and I uphold that agreement from my side. There is indeed a bit of a dilemma in this, but I decided to keep my word as I still feel very lucky having got my investments back.

Actually I first only planned to divest a small amount from bitvest to secure some of my gains and the reason for that were previous credible reports from people in the bitvest thread that they can't withdraw for days and do not get any answers no matter how they try contact bitvest, which kind of started to unsettle me considering the amounts I had invested there. Once I found I couldn't even divest a small part of my investment I got worried and decided to pull out everything ASAP. Mods told me that this is an ongoing problem since longer but I should just trust that I get my money at some point. So this is obviously has been going on longer than two months.

Even Lightlord acknowledged that there were problems with the hot wallet and said that he was going to fix that. So, don't tell me that I am misleading people.

4389  Economy / Economics / Re: New COVID strain may affect crypto valuation on: November 27, 2021, 08:16:39 AM
Yeah, lol, it has already affected.

Markets are very susceptible to news like this, so the decline is not surprising. We will have to see how the price behaves in the medium term, but I doubt that the drop will be as serious as in March 2020, because this time we will not be caught off guard. I do think it could affect the overall economy if it leads to more lockdowns, but I think Bitcoin is going to be a winner in the medium and long term as a safe haven.

4390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto's Wealth on: November 27, 2021, 08:08:38 AM
I believe that we cannot consider them to be Satoshi's wealth. First because it is not clear that he mined them,as BlackHatCoiner has said. But even if he mined them at least in large part, if he has not moved them I see it quite unlikely that he will.

This is pure speculation on my part, but I think that the private keys of those bitcoins were lost by either by accident or on purpose, as a donation to the system as a whole, because the less bitcoins circulating, the more value.

4391  Economy / Reputation / Re: List of names of accounts involved cheating in SantaCoin's Bounty campaign. on: November 26, 2021, 09:01:14 AM
if there's no way to stop these bounty buttholes from cheating because they can create an unlimited number of alt accounts, then there's not much these projects can do to stop the abuse aside from requiring KYC in order to participate, and I seriously doubt that's ever going to happen.

This reminds me of the myth of Sisyphus. A Greek who was condemned to climb a huge stone up a hill, and when he got to the top the stone fell back down and he had to start all over again.

I understand that cheating does not involve their activity on the forum but the activity on Twitter, Youtube etc., as newbies do not participate in the sig campaign since they cannot wear a signature.

I think it's an awesome job but I doubt there is any way to stop it if they can create potentially infinite new newbie accounts.

4392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling Court on: November 26, 2021, 07:57:37 AM
And where would this online court be operating from? Who are the judges answerable to? Who will pay them? Who will select them? From which particular law does its existence spring forth?

This is a complicated matter because legal jurisdictions are limited. You cannot just create an all encompassing court which has the power to try all cases of gambling all over the world. Furthermore, gambling laws differ from one country to another. And if you set this kind of court, it will definitely need a huge manpower given that hundreds and hundreds of millions of gamblers are scattered all over the world.

Yeah... Impossible to put it into practice. You are not going to get all countries to agree and even if you do, there will always be sites on which you will not be able to act, if they act in the DW for example. The OP's thinking is very nice in theory but impossible to implement in practice.
4393  Economy / Gambling / Re: Where to report gambling fraud? on: November 26, 2021, 07:04:20 AM
This threads looks like a place to complete weekly posts and nothing more. So if you expect more from this thread, then search somewhere else cause nothing new happens here.

I don't know why you say that. OP is not wearing a signature, so this thread can't be understood just as a way to cover a weekly quota to get paid. In fact, he posts very occasionally on the forum, he seems to be an occasional visitor.

What seems wrong to me is that he opens the thread and then says nothing more.
4394  Economy / Reputation / Re: [FLAG] marios22558 on: November 26, 2021, 06:56:25 AM
Flag supported.

I rely more on what is said in the bitcointalk thread, and the fact that he does not respond or give explanations to the accusation that he does not pay.

Adriono2010's trust page does not give me much confidence, which does not mean that what he is saying is false but I can't believe it just like that.
4395  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is recovering on: November 26, 2021, 06:47:14 AM
I am not surprised that the op's nick contains the word "troll".

Sorry not to be so optimistic, I don't see the price as "recovering". I think it was up 4% yesterday, which is normal variability for Bitcoin, and in the last 24 hours it is flat. Just as I didn't think we were in a bear market because of the recent slight decline. I think we are in a kind of sideways, what happens is that many of us expected to be higher now, and many predictions estimated that.

4396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Citadels Poll on: November 26, 2021, 06:43:12 AM
I have two doubts about what you are raising.

The first is whether one can effectively "appropriate" what are international waters and establish an artificial island and a system of government there. I doubt it, because if that were the case, many countries could expand their territories by doing the same.

The other is about the sustainability of creating an artificial island there. We would have to transport everything on a regular basis. Starting with drinking water.

I don't see it.
4397  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this a clear sign of high inflation? on: November 25, 2021, 11:38:24 AM
Not all stocks are like that, also better than having fiat that comes down to loss.

Dude, be happy with a 30% return because annual inflation is nowhere near that as far as I know, at least not yet.

Yes, I think I've been a bit pessimistic before. Much better than having Fiat, of course, but in real terms the return is quite a bit less than that 30%. You have to think that the CPI index has been manipulated over the years to show what is convenient for governments, so inflation is much higher than what it shows.

OP, that IS a very clear sign of high inflation. All that extra money going to stocks, commodities, real estate, AND cryptocurrencies. But it will come down crashing soon, and prepare for the next cycle, OR hyperinflation.

I doubt there will ever be hyperinflation in the US or the EU. Think of it as being defined as a 50% monthly rise in inflation.

If I were you, Poker Player, I'd be watching out for warning signs and getting prepared to sell some of your stocks before (or at least shortly after, before prices get really low) that crash comes, because it's coming.  It's just a matter of when, not if.

I had some stocks that I have already sold. Now I only have the S&P 500 left, and I don't care if there is a crash because I do DCA, and Bitcoin, which I do the same.

4398  Economy / Economics / Is this a clear sign of high inflation? on: November 25, 2021, 07:38:06 AM

When we think of inflation we usually think of how much food, electricity or gasoline costs.

But there is another aspect as well: how much it costs us to buy financial assets.

The above chart at first glance may appear to be due to the strong performance of the 500 largest U.S. companies. But this is misleading: I believe it reflects more the effects of massive printing and inflation than how companies are doing.

The charts for the stock markets of countries with high inflation are similar: the more currency printing and inflation, the more the stock market rises.

That the S&P, which has an average return of about 10% on average has risen 30% in the last year is sobering. Let's think that in November 2020 we were already out of the stock market slump that was the COVID.

At the end of the day, anyone like me who has money invested in the S&P 500 can't be too happy about the 30% return because if we discount inflation it comes to almost nothing.
4399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: does this have something to do with bitcoin's current decline... on: November 25, 2021, 07:02:05 AM
I agree with the others. No. Correlation does not imply causation, and it is one thing that is clearly seen in this case. It is very typical to link China with FUD but this correlation is very poor. Also, I would not call the state we are in a market decline. Rather we are in a kind of sideways.
4400  Economy / Economics / Re: Can civilization revert to a barter system on: November 25, 2021, 06:56:38 AM
No matter what happens with banks or CBDCs, there's no way in hell a single country--much less the entire world--is ever going back to a system of barter.

Money as we know it has evolved over centuries to become what it is today, and I see absolutely no reason why anyone would even consider taking a monumental step backward to implement a system that was like 100 steps removed from the present day in terms of that evolution.  There would have to be nuclear warhead strikes on a global scale for that to happen, and by that I mean the population would have to be reduced to the point where governments have been obliterated and there's no monetary system left.

If you want to barter, do it as a hobby with like-minded people.  It just won't work anymore as a generally accepted form of trade.

I completely agree with this.

I don't even know how Hydrogen came up with that idea. Bartering is typical of primitive societies and is impossible to practice on a large scale in modern societies.

You can exchange with another person one thing for another, but on a large scale, let's see how you exchange a piano for apples. Or for a mixture of apples, shoes and adhesive tape. You probably need those three things and someone else needs a piano, but the three things you need are not in the same person's possession, unless they barter beforehand to get what you want to give them the piano.

In short, no.
