441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rollover betting challenge system by Lordhermes on: November 10, 2020, 04:06:23 PM
What are your thoughts?

I always like these kind of challenges, because they are fun to do/follow and always look very tempting on paper Smiley In reality it's hard to achieve anything, because in your case you are playing 5-selection-parlays with average odds of 1.50 per selection - these are not easy to win Wink The advantage is, that you basically have all the time in the world to search for "good" 1.50 odds. But then again you are eager to start the challenge and want to climb the ladder on a daily basis and that is where most people fail then.

And as safe as a 1.50 might look on any given day, the higher your stakes, the more insecure you get and game selection will get super hard; if you are normally staking way lower.

I will follow, but not engage (you should just start, "trying together" doesn't work in an online forum), good luck Smiley

Everyone got their bets in for the Toilet Bowl?

Should be the Jets only* win this year!

*they do get another try at the Pats wk17

Hehe, fans tend to overreact, in a positive and negative way Smiley If everything goes normal, the Pats will win this. With all the issues they have, they are still the better team, but who is not when compared to the mighty Jets Wink What I do think though, is that the Jets odds are valuable. 4.60-ish is too high for this divisional matchup with two struggling teams. The Jets can afford a win looking at the draft, because they are the only winless team so far; Jags have 1 win, the rest already 2 at least. This is a prime time game and Jets will be pumped to win this - if just being pumped is enough to win this, is yet to be seen, but they will try and they will be competitive me thinks. They can keep on losing tanking afterwards again, but this is their personal SuperBowl today. So I am putting some money on the Jets as well Shocked

And the Sunday night game between the Saints and the Buccaneers was a complete disappointment, it is very rare for me to stop watching a NFL game but after half I knew the game was over and decided to watch something else.

If someone told me before that the Saints will score 38 points, but my over 51 will lose, I would have called him crazy Grin Just a single FG in the last minutes of the game for the Bucs is really pathetic. As I said before, the NFC is weak/unpredictable this year and this could help TB in the PO, but a really good team doesn't lose 3-38 at home no matter the opponent. Lets see, how the Panthers will do against them next week, odds above 3.00 look huge after yesterdays performance.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football in China - The Chinese Super League on: November 09, 2020, 01:01:45 PM
This is interesting! Does OP happen to know how popular CSL is in China? Also, do we have foreign bettors who are keen on placing wagers on CSL?

It's not that popular like the big european leagues and competitions, but it has gotten more interest over the last years, because a lot of well-known import players were brought into the league. That being said, there is not much interest outside of China fan-wise. The quality is still lacking overall and it's a very unique league with lots of drama behind the scenes and money plays a big role. It's not organically growing and the teams are often just toys for some big investors. The CCP has some say here and there as well of course, as in all matters in China Wink It's a very capitalistic league in a still officially communist country.

There are foreign bettors for sure, because this league has one big advantage: The time when the matches are played Smiley During the week there is very few kind of good football during the day for european betting people. The matches are usually played around noon/early afternoon european time and thus this attracts punters who are bored while waiting for some bigger european matches in the evening.

Suzhou - Shaanxi -> Suzhou DNB @2.00 6/10.
Another interesting bet would be Guizhou 1X vs Beijing Renhe @1.95, but I won't play it.

As expected, Shaanxi wasn't really interested and Suzhou won 1-0 with an early goal in HT2.
Guizhou sent Beijing into Div3 with a 3-0 win, but as said, I didn't have a bet there, but maybe someone else was brave enough Wink

445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Red Cards in Football and what they do to the odds and the outcome on: November 09, 2020, 02:08:31 AM
Pretty uneventful weekend overall.

England

Everyone behaved well over the weekend, no red cards.

Spain

Barcelona - Betis
Red Card: Betis in 60th minute, score 2-1
Final Score: 5-2

The red card resulted in a penalty to make it 3-1 and Betis actually was the next to score then. Lay Barca next goal would have worked, though you must be very brave to actually place such a bet in such a game. But there are these people, so I'll make this green^^

Real Sociedad - Granada
Red Card: Real Sociedad in 86th minute, score 2-0
Final Score: 2-0

Red card came late, when game was decided, so uninteresting.

Levante - Alaves
Red Card: Alaves in 34th minute, score 0-1
Final Score: 1-1

One should maybe bet on red card in games with Alaves - in 4 of their last 5 games there was one^^ Levante scored the equalizer in second half, but nothing more then. Another example where a red card in first half is too much of a disadvantage. So lesson #1 learned from this thread: Always bet against a team, that gets a red card in first half.

Italy

Cagliari - Sampdoria
Red Card: Sampdoria in 40th minute, score 0-0
Final score: 2-0

Cagliari nicely took advantage, see the lesson from above Smiley

Torino - Crotona
Red Card: Crotone in 87th minute, score 0-0
Final Score: 0-0

Late red card again and it's not hard to defend a 0-0 for some minutes even with one man down.

Germany

No red cards this round.

International break now and we will be back in 2 weeks and see, if there are some more lessons to be learned.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: November 09, 2020, 01:26:07 AM
9/15 wasn't enough this week, there are 3 users with 10 correct picks who will share the prize money, but they won't get 50 fame points like Avirunes and Indymoney do for winning the MM in here this week. Look at all the red at the bottom:

And since I always talk about those fame points, I added them to overall stats table:

Avirunes (300), Trofo (258) and JanpriX (217) collected the most fame points.

Next week we are on international break again for this stupid Nations League and I guess most of the games will be from this competition with the inevitable Flamengo being in the mix again. They will play Atletico Goianiense next weekend and this looks like a home win Grin
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: November 09, 2020, 01:03:00 AM
Didn't find anything worth posting for today, though I had some bets. Played the over 51 for SNF, but wouldn't recommend to follow, but for me this 3-4 points too low. ML odds look ok on paper, though I have the feeling Saints might win this in the end.

Watched the Chargers game today and I am getting more and more a fan of Herbert. I really like the way he plays and I think he will be(-come) a very good NFL QB. Still needs some polish, but it's amazing what he is doing as a rookie and I always have a good feeling when he is throwing. Not that my feeling matters (Grin), but for me this is somehow important when judging a QB, lol.

Tua did very well overall today too, it was an improvement from last week imo. I don't know how the Dolpins won that game, because ARZ was playing well, but they did it. All those missed 4th downs probably made the difference. And the defense scoring a TD always helps a bit of course. Dolphins are on a pretty good streak and it's no fluke I think. Next week we will see Tua vs Herbert then.

Cardinals over 7.5 @1.84 (they had 5 wins last season and I expect them to improve further, they have one of the easiest schedules with Washington, Lions, Panthers, Jets, Dolphins, Patriots (sorry Pats fans^^), Giants, Rams²)
Bills over 9 @1.87 (Easy division this year, kept most of their players, had 10 last year)
Carolina under 5.5 @2.21 (not expecting anything from them this season and 6 is a lot, when you are likely to go 0-6 in your division already)
Raiders over 7.5 @2.04 (I think Raiders will be good this season, don't ask me why)
Vikings over 9 @2.13 (They will win NFC North imo, last season 10 wins and they will be better this season overall)
Patriots under 9 @1.62 (so many players opted out, no Brady, getting 10 wins will be super hard, 9 is a push then, but I am expecting less)
Giants over 6 @1.84 (fanboy, lol)

Around half-time for this season and I was checking my outright o/u bets.

Cardinals 5-3: They will still play Patriots, 2x Rams, Giants, 49ers, Eagles, so I am optimistic for 3 more wins.
Bills 7-2: Looking good, 3 more wins needed, which they should get @49ers, vs Chargers and vs Dolphins. They will only play one more top team with the Steelers.
Carolina 3-6: Carolina suprised me this season. Even without CMC they were doing good and they seem to get stronger and stronger. With Broncos, Lions and Washington still on the menu, they could get to 6. The other games are: Packers, Bucs, Saints and Vikings.
Raiders 5-3: Only top team they still have to play are the Chiefs, so they should be able to get 3 more.
Vikings 3-5: This is nearly impossible and 99% lost, overrated them.
Patriots 2-5: They would have to win 7 of the remaining 9 to make this a push, very unlikely with all the personnel trouble the Pats have.
Giants 2-7: I see only one remaining game (Cowboys in week 17) with a realistic chance for a W. Losing this bet serves me right for being a blind fanboy Cheesy

Looks like I will make a small profit with these, but you never know until week17 of course Smiley
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 08, 2020, 03:54:13 PM
For today i guess Gladbach will win in Leverkusen and Hoffenheim will win in Wolfsburg.

I was fancying Hoffenheim getting some point(s) in Wolfsburg as well, but they just have too many players missing, so I skipped that one. Gladbach looks very good and I am pretty sure they will win, but the odds have gone south too much, so the value is gone most likely (3.50 during the week, now only around 2.50). They have done quite well in BayArena in the last years and are in tremendous form. Both had long travels during the week, but Gladbach already played on Tuesday, Leverkusen only on Thursday. With these odds now, you could even think about betting on Leverkusen....but Gladbach looks the way better team atm. Lets see, if there is something better inplay Smiley

My betslip shows me I am 4 out of 6. You got my Barcelona pick and Bayern pick wrong on table. Maybe you confused up with someone's else picks. Nevermind I am also still live in race Smiley

Sorry, messed it up indeed, my bad. You started with Sassuolo/Southampton/Everton/Watford but then continued with a different order than my table for some of the following games and I just kept on typing 1/X/2 without looking at the games Grin

Normally there is only two orders: Alphabetically or the one from the official schedule, which is by kick-off time. But for this week, there is a third order some people posted and this was too much for the bot in me^^

I don't know why I have never looked better at this thread but I will do from now on. I can actually select what I feel are the best 5/6 picks coming from your consensus and place a bet slip on my own. In case of a winning bet, I will fund your cause with a donation.

I wouldn't recommend that, you will only lose money as I elaborated here a bit.

By the way, how does one enter this group? Do I need to sign up at sportsbet?

Yes, just make an account at Sportsbet, fund it and look for the MultiMaster Promotion.

Friday and Saturday done and this time I didn't miss Watford game:

JanpriX is leading the pack not only in here but also on the leaderboard, though with 46 other participants. And I am kind of sure, that there is a handful of people, who actually have gone 6/6 and don't show up in the leaderboard. So while ralle14/morvillz7z/BitcoinHunt3r/notblox1/Indymoney can still hope with 4/6, everyone else with 3 or fewer can watch the games without nail biting. Avirunes with only 2/6, the so-called MM hangover Wink

Good luck to those who are still in contention Smiley

I thought you have given up on this thread Smiley

Hehe, no, I normally keep going with the threads I open, but there might be times of silence (same with the CBA thread, where a new season has started again some time ago), when other things are more important. Doing things half-heartedly is not a good recipe when betting, you will just lose money, so better to put things on hold for the time being. And as said, China football isn't that profitable mid-season and with this new format due to Corona things were a bit different anyway.

I have kept your coins for a long time, I would like to know why they are not in my wallet now. I launched the PC version and it is empty.

You are probably....

- on a pre-hardfork wallet version
- not fully synced
- on a different PC now without restoring your wallet properly
- something else Wink

With so few information, it's hard to help you.

Download the 1.4.1 Electron wallet and click yes to pre-download the blockchain, if you wish. Then let your wallet run until it's fully synced, we are at block 2.3+mln now, so this might take some time. https://github.com/xaya/xaya_electron/releases/tag/1.4.1

453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football in China - The Chinese Super League on: November 07, 2020, 09:50:39 PM
Didn't have a lot of time for China football recently and beginning of a season is always the most interesting/profitable anyway. There is some interesting bet for tomorrow in Jia League though, which is the second division in China.

Suzhou - Shaanxi -> Suzhou DNB @2.00 6/10. Last round in the relegation groups tomorrow and Shaanxi is already safe, while a point for Suzhou is enough to avoid relegation. Shaanxi will not bother with this one and Suzhou would probably sign a 0-0 prematch. Thus DNB is maybe not the most clever choice, 1X pays around 1.50-ish, which one can maybe parlay with some other game.

Another interesting bet would be Guizhou 1X vs Beijing Renhe @1.95, but I won't play it. Guizhou is safe as well and has been doing really good, leading the table. They have better quality, but their motivation for this one is questionable, although everyone always likes to beat the teams from the capital. Beijing are in still in danger of relegating, a draw won't be enough most likely, they have to win. Their big issue is money and the players didn't get their wages for quite some time. Hard to judge, if the players are super eager to avoid relegation. If they do, there is a higher possibility of maybe getting paid, but otoh they are probably pretty disappointed with how things went in the last weeks. Judge for yourself, if this is worth a bet Smiley

Guangzhou Evergrande - Henan / Guangzhou AHC -2 @1.775 8/10

This was ages ago, but for the record, it ended 2-0 and was a push thus.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 07, 2020, 12:34:16 PM
You sure?

Their odds are maybe a bit too low, but for being favourite, I am sure, yes Grin As you mentioned Schalke has really been piss poor against Div4 team at home in DFB Pokal, I was shocked tbh^^. And Mainz was really good against Gladbach in their last home game. This is a new game and what was in the past doesn't count in this one, but Mainz were more impressive recently, if that makes any sense with these two teams Cheesy In the end this will be a draw I think, but if draw would be a non-valid result, Mainz is more likely to win than Schalke imo.
455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 07, 2020, 10:56:17 AM
Not a lot of interesting matches odds-wise for today in GER1&2 Roll Eyes Augsburg look a bit high against struggling and messy Hertha, but anything can happen basically. Don't agree with Frankfurt being slight dog at Stuttgart, but only very small value, if any. Leipzig should have no problems with Freiburg, and Mainz is rightfully favourite against Schalke.

I only like Bielefeld getting a point or more at Union (X2 at around 2-ish look good). This will be a special game for Bielefelds coach Neuhaus, since he spent a long time at Union and was very successful with them. The foundation for the success of Union nowadays was built by Neuhaus during his 7-year stint there. He knows this club inside out, but it won't have that much of an impact today I guess. Bielefeld played Dortmund/Wolfsburg/Bayern lately and as expected, they came out empty-handed, though they were not doing too bad. They will be looking to get a point here and with their good defense, this should be doable against an Union team, which I still don't rate that high.

In GER2 Bochum vs Fürth will probably be a good one, but nothing worth playing pre-match. I think Fürth will win here, lets see, if there are good opportunities inplay.

And for todays important match for both Teams in the evening between Dortmund and Bayern Munich i placed my bet on Dortmund , they can do it at home.

Odds for Bayern have gone up during the week and especially in the last hours, since Pavard is out too. Some overreaction by the markets imo, but this is a boring game anyway Smiley

In GER2 I have placed a bet on Würzburg +0.75 @2.02 for today.

No sweat here, easily lost Grin If Heidenheim scores 4 on you, you have a problem, 4-1 FT.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: November 06, 2020, 07:01:03 PM
Here are the picks thus far for this week (rdbase where are yours ? You are normally not late^^):

Consensus found only for one game (Tottenham) Shocked There is a handful of other games, where there is a strong tendency, but a user here and there spoiled the fun. And people have picked the draw for Everton-ManU and Atalanta-Inter 50% of the time, which is a lot. Welcome @Indymoney Smiley

Thanks for the input/help @buwaytress with gs, I have uploaded my Excel file to gs and it just has some slight formatting errors, the formulas should be fine. I can't/won't make it editable for everyone/the public though, since there are always some weirdos, who like to destroy things. But if any of the regular posters in here wants to have editable access, just send me your email address via PM and I'll add you. You can find the table here, I will update it frequently, so you can follow (hope the link works, if not, just make a peep): Multimaster Week 45.

Sorry if this maybe makes your sheet obsolete @buwaytress.

This little thread could also turn into mindless sharing of picks just to be eligible for the free bet, and we don't want that either, it's a discussion thread before anything else.

Yep, thats what is my concern too Wink
457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 06, 2020, 07:25:37 AM
In GER2 I have placed a bet on Würzburg +0.75 @2.02 for today. Can't believe Heidenheim is priced 1.70-ish in the 1X2 market, because this is way too low. They are not that good anymore after losing a lot of quality during the summer. And they are not the team to score a lot of goals, so something like 1-0/2-1 will get us at least half of your stake back. Würzburgs results have been poor on paper, but they played some pretty good teams lately, namely the teams which are sitting in Top3 as we speak. They weren't doing too bad in these losses and this game in Heidenheim today looks like a good opportunity to turn things around a bit and get 1 point or more. This will be a super ugly game me thinks, which looks very draw-ish to me, maybe even 0-0.

For Friday night match between Bremen and Cologne in Bundesliga today, I was looking to place some bet on Cologne, but odds have no value for my liking. Maybe some opportunity will evolve inplay Roll Eyes

Placed a bet for Schalke AH-2 @1.8x in cup game for tomorrow against Schweinfurt.

Where are all those Schalke haters ? They won a game Grin It wasn't pretty and probably not deserved (Schweinfurt missed a penalty in 70th minute to make it 2-2), but a win is a win, 4-1 FT.
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: November 05, 2020, 10:01:37 PM
My picks for this week Roll Eyes

Sassuolo - Udinese
Southampton - Newcastle United
Everton - Manchester United DRAW
Watford - Coventry City
Barcelona - Real Betis
Borussia Dortmund - Bayern München
Lazio - Juventus
West Bromwich Albion - Tottenham
Leicester City - Wolverhampton
Atalanta - Inter
Manchester City - Liverpool DRAW
Leverkusen - M'gladbach
Arsenal - Aston Villa
Valencia - Real Madrid
Atlético Mineiro - Flamengo

Hope the away teams will have a great weekend, lol.

As for this discussion about the freebets, I am fine with basically everything, since I can't receive the freebet anyway, so count me in for all stunts you are trying to do. My suggestion would have been to give the first freebet to rdbase for personal use, since he started this wonderful thread, which is now our MM living room Grin

I would be careful with our consensus picks and better not parlay them Cheesy Going back to the last MM tables, we nearly always have at least one of them going wrong; only in week 41 we hit all of them, the UNL weekend. And just quick-checking these ~75% consensus picks, they are even doing worse^^

I think it should be something connected to the MM games with clear rules, because otherwise you will have endless discussions in here about the picks and finding consensus will be hard Wink Can also do over parlay always for the first 5 games on the official MM schedule. This would be Sassuolo/Southampton/Everton/Watford/Barca this week. Or the middle 5 or last 5 Wink

@buwaytress

I can pimp your googlesheet table a bit to have a better overview of picks made, but will wait for the final decision. I have my table in "normal" Excel and c&p'ing it into googlesheet messes up all the formulas.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbooks often offer different odds for the same type of bet on: November 05, 2020, 11:50:25 AM
Did you change any other settings?

No, I just put the odds in. You can do a lot with the calculator I linked, there are easier ones and I normally use this, but it's with german language. If you scroll down a bit to "Einsatzverteilung", you have the same calculator, but a bit more easy to use.

Source: https://www.wettforum.info/systemwettenrechner

You just put in your stake and the odds (green) and then get the optimal stakes for the two bets (blue) and your total odds (red).

If you tick the box for the draw.....

Source: https://www.wettforum.info/systemwettenrechner

....you then have created your own AH0 with the 1X2 odds (but as said, most of the time not worth it). You can also make an AH with getting your money back for Torino win and getting paid out in case of a draw - just tick the box above then:

Source: https://www.wettforum.info/systemwettenrechner

You can also choose more outcomes for outright bets or whatever, like for example you want to bet on either Leicester/ManU/Arsenal winning the EPL title, you can then get your optimal stake to win the same amount with each bet. Lots of things to play around with Grin
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Scoring a goal with the VAR interruption on: November 05, 2020, 10:38:40 AM
@wildan88 usually I sympathise with the gambler if his bookie cancels his winning bet due to a technicality, but in this case I would throw my support in the bookies favour because the gambler is intentionally cheating, and I also feel that it’s unethical to do this.

It's not always the users fault or having bad intentions. Especially in the early days when VAR was introduced, the bookies just re-opened the markets no matter what after a goal was scored and everyone believed the score was correct - even the players, teams, officials. So the punters placed their bets, that got accepted and then suddenly the VAR came into play to check things.

Nowadays all involved parties have learned better how to deal with the VAR and you basically can't cheat the system no more, even if you wanted Wink It's still a race for the bookies as to who is the fastest to re-open betting to get the biggest piece of the cake, but they wait way longer in comparison to when this was introduced and make sure the score is correct and VAR won't intervene no more.

But then again I wouldn't rule out the possibilty of bookies still taking advantage, because it's easy for them. Lets say they kind of know that a scored goal will get nullified. But they still re-open the markets to get action. They can just void the bets they don't like (with the reasoning, hey you tried to cheat us) and let the other bets stand. And if it turns out, that the standing bets surprisingly win in the end, they can just void them after the final whistle too Wink
