okay kslaughter, don't be greedy, bitcoin's exchange rate has appreciated again, drop the bid wall again to reflect that

This has already been discussed, the ask wall will be removed entirely, soon.

great thanks, this wall is only on BTCT.co currently?  It isn't on AMC-PT on Bitfunder, nor ActiveMining on Bitfunder

always curious to watch the share prices when there spreads that wide

ITT: breakeven. When will these shares break even from dividends?

Just curious, because if I load up to take down those bid walls, me and everybody else is going to be verrrryy illiquid trying to liquidate any meaningful amount of shares in the future.
446  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: July 14, 2013, 07:30:49 PM
Hello everyone, quick update for those of you who aren't on the mailing list. I have secured the asset at BitFunder and have been in contact with Ukto. I have also been in contact with the company lawyer. He has agreed to meet with me tomorrow (yes, that's on a Sunday) to finalize the IPO details and a couple other minute things. Everything looks to be in place for the IPO to be this week. Feel free to get ahold of me if you have any questions. Also if you don't receive a reply to any email you've sent me within 12 hours, your email service likely marked the mail as spam. Check all folders for mail!!!!

P.S. To my amusement, but also being a pain in the neck. The mailing list exceeded the amount of people the mailing service can send emails to at one time. So you're now in multiple mailing lists...  Cool

Ahahahaha the company lawyer is advising you on an unregistered sale of securities omfg caveat emptor

Just when I thought I had seen it all

So I quess creativex for vice president ! (friedcat is still the president at least for now )

lol ASICMiner is a much larger operation than BASIC-MINING, this is a 550-600GH operation and ASICMiner is 47 TH (47,000GH) operation

its all about the share structure man

did you just double your hashing power?

double hashing power = double share price? i kid, i kid...sort of...

I don't think that is so far fetched, do your own calculations but share price has remained as a proportion to dividend yield for some time here

and this was .04/share (split adjusted) before the ASICs began arriving, so this illuminates what BASIC-MINING investors are willing to tolerate

Taking down the wall only helps speculators that want to play with the price as soon as possible.

The wall will be brought down by investors once they realise the potential of this. Volume is more important than price now.

The thing is that the wall is keeping volume down because investors don't believe they will make any money. Why would an individual choose to buy in at .0025 when there is no chance of the share price increasing?

For example, there are 1941664 shares at .0025 available on BTCT right now. The daily volume of AMC is 24538. Even if every single one of those trades was a buy at .0025, and they most certainly are not, it would take around 80 days before the wall gets brought down.
They almost were. Yesterday, the wall was around 1965000.

but then there is bitfunder where there are plenty of cheaper shares BEFORE you get to the 2,000,000 ask wall. the optimists will say "Yay cheaper" but this really just means there is so much more that needs to be filled, further contributing to pessimism. although, I am buying.

I confess, I am a huge fan of how fast Chinese companies can produce things (I missed the cold war so I don't really care), but I definitely have affinity for when an American venture in America tries to do it so much better

you have a decent amount of capital right now, how about you use that as collateral for a loan with no payments for a year, remove the bid wall, and let the market do its thang

leverage baby
453  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT][BFMINES] - Mining Contracts Now Available - Bonus Divs First Months on: July 11, 2013, 04:21:32 AM
just curious, can someone explain the lack of capital inflows into this fund?

it will currently cost around 250 btc to fund this.

people pay more than that for preorders, although for more megahashes

but the restructuring away from the bond thing changes all of that I assume?
454  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is MtGox Bankrupt? Not giving access to funds ... says other customers affected on: July 11, 2013, 04:18:08 AM
When I log into Gox i see a red message just above the buy/sell tabs, "Sending a WIRE TRANSFER to your account? The SWIFT code for depositing to Mt. Gox has been changed by our bank. Please find the new information under the "Funding Options" tab. Transferring using the old code could cause your deposit to bounce-back, possibly incurring fees at your local bank. "

Maybe far fetched but i think they have issues on the level of governments on their shoulders. A new SWIFT code suddenly could also mean that those who tap SWIFT transactions want it to be easy to track every transfer to Gox using a unique SWIFT code.

The SWIFT is not a very big deal.

Old one MHBKJPJT

New one MHCBJPJT

first 4 letters are the bank code
next 2 country code
finally the last 2 are location. My guess (Japan,Tokyo)

MHBK = Mizuho Bank
MHCB = Mizuho Corporate Bank

They have reached the size where they got offered (forced?) to move from retail banking to investment banking branch.

Thing is that makes me unhappy is that it is kinda communicated after the facts. Could they have not planned a smooth transition?

I am discovering with horror after having done my first wire transfer deposit and without having done any due diligence before the horrible delays that people are enduring.

As I said earlier in this thread, I initiated the transfer last week on July 2nd. Went to my local bank this afternoon to query the status of the transfer. The person who did check seemed confused. She asked me if I was sure to have provided to correct SWIFT code as apparently there was no bank account with the number I provided at the SWIFT location. Based on her system, my transfer did bounce back on July 5th but she wasn't sure since my bank account did not get credited back the amount of the failed transfer.

This afternoon, the explanation sounded unbelievable but tonight I know that she was right. I Would like explanation from MtGox about why it is announced only on July 10th about the SWIFT code change when it apparently occured somewhere last week?Huh

wow, thanks for the heads up. I always use the same information with bankers when I am initiating a wire to there

458  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Kenilworth Exploration - Real World Mining Opportunity with Bitcoins on: July 09, 2013, 05:20:12 PM
I share Kyune's concern that Round 1 investors don't seem to have much incentive to sit and have their bitcoins do nothing for X amount of weeks.

I currently have 4000+ shares of Kenilworth but I'm getting a little antsy since I'm not seeing the volume pick up at all.  Meanwhile I could have tripled my investment if I had put my money in ASICMINER or CipherMine.

Registering on a BTCT.co is a must.  There needs to be more exposure of this interesting opportunity.

you are comparing rare earth sector mineral to the cryptocurrency tech sector. lol, oh man.
459  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: July 09, 2013, 04:49:01 PM
You're right, ASICMINER doesn't have a picture of a Chenbro 4U Open-bay Compact Rackmount Chassis on a website. Primarily because:

1. ASICMINER doesn't have a website
2. ASICMINER doesn't sell Chenbro 4U Open-bay Compact Rackmount Chassis

I mean, let's be honest here. ASICMINER doesn't have a 24.576 TH miner, and neither do you. ASICMINER does, however, have a lot of 10 GH miners, which you don't.

Do we really need to go the bashing route? More than one business following the Asicminer model is a good thing, not a bad one. That is just a pic of the main chassis that the upcoming miners will use.
Alright, I admit my comment was slightly provocative, but I don't think I stated anything that isn't a fact. I wasn't trying to bash anyone; just point out that comparing a shipping product to a product in development will always make you look superior.

It reminds me of rivaling chip producers like AMD and Intel. When Intel is leading in chip performance, AMD, or supporters hereof, will say "Yeah, but just wait until the new 20 nm AMD chip comes out, it'll be much faster than that Intel chip.". Of course that's true, but Intel won't be sitting still while AMD is working on a new chip.

You're right, ASICMINER doesn't have a picture of a Chenbro 4U Open-bay Compact Rackmount Chassis on a website. Primarily because:

Yes, let's be honest we are going to build these and when we do, how may of those 10 GH/s miners will it take to make 1 of these, the answer is 2,457 and these will use a lot less power to boot.
As I mentioned above, ASICMINER is also developing news chips. Hell, everyone is!

So yes, your future technology beats ASICMINER's present technology. Future technology always beats present technology.

I don't really get what the issue is... just buy ASICMINER pass through
