441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin portfolio on: December 24, 2023, 10:46:32 AM
Is bitcoin not in your portfolio, or is it only for altcoins that are in that bag? I think Bitcoin is important especially as a major asset that will soon be halving so keep a few percent there rather than nothing.

Altcoin HBAR is a very good prospect I saw some news that the project continues to do good development they also have good partners, I think it still makes sense for HBAR to be in your portfolio, then is ETH ruled out because it is too expensive?
I think ETH is good to include in the portfolio.

Maybe the OP is aiming for a project that can provide up to 10x profits and of course Bitcoin won't be on the list. ETH is also impossible to enter because even increasing 5x will be very difficult. So the OP's goal in owning altcoins is big profits. I don't have any other suggestions because the altcoins I invest in are the same as yours, but there are some that are not the same. I have CRO and TIA because I see both as very potential projects.
442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is there so much interest in popular cryptocurrencies? on: December 24, 2023, 10:31:23 AM
What is more important to you in the world of cryptocurrencies - their prominence or their potential to make a real impact on the industry?

The answer is trust. If you were offered to invest in a company that is already known to many people and a company that is still building its business but they promise extraordinary potential, which one would you choose? You are right in saying that people should also pay attention to small projects but the problem is can you guarantee that they will not cheat you? That's why when talking about investment, ordinary people will be more interested in large projects and as for small projects, there may be some people who are experts and understand the crypto sector and then invest there.
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Celestia (TIA) - The future of modular blockchains? on: December 24, 2023, 10:24:25 AM
I regret that I didn't have time to take part in the Airdrop for Celestia tokens. And I also regret that I didn't buy it when it first entered the exchange at $1-$2. Now the price has reached $12 and if it is true as you all say that Celestia will still continue to grow in the future then I think this is the right time to invest in it although I am quite sorry that I missed the train.
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nowhere is safe part 2 on: December 24, 2023, 10:21:19 AM
I usually do anything to ensure the safety of my crypto assets. I could do something like secure my seed phrase offline by saving it somewhere disconnected from the internet. I also like to enable 2FA on all sites where I store my crypto assets and if necessary I will do an OTP via phone call. Even though it sounds like a hassle, in the 5 years I've been on this forum I've never once lost any of my assets even though my assets are actually only a few thousand dollars if you put them all together.
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana just reached $80!!! on: December 24, 2023, 10:15:02 AM
Quote
I hope I didn't jix it now and Solana will go down 50% next 24 hours.  Grin
Solana is currently the only coin where the market is not in a downward spiral but is reflecting an upward trend. Currently, the market has increased so much that it has already touched $90 to $114. Solana has pumped the most compared to all other coins, In this year we have seen Solana price drop so low no one expected it to rise to this level. As Solana price is currently trending upwards, it may turn lower at any time, but this coin is likely to go higher again during the fertilizer season. And since Solana price is highest at the moment, it seems that investing will be ricks, it is difficult to say when the price may fall, so it is better to refrain from investing.

The current price of Solana makes me really want to invest in it. But is it possible for me to exchange my BTC for Solana? I think if we are patient for a while after the Halving then maybe we can see the price of BTC hitting 100,000 dollars and that means big profits for all holders. Even though when compared to the current price it is an increase of around 150% from the current price but I think it is still safer to keep our assets in BTC than in Solana.
446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is the #1 crypto currency in the world if it's slow and expensive? on: December 24, 2023, 10:05:26 AM
Yes, it's the first coin ever created, but it's slow and expensive (unless you're using the lightning network which most people and businesses don't).

One of the strongest reasons is because Bitcoin is truly decentralized and is a pioneer in cryptocurrency. People really believe in Bitcoin because one of the reasons why other coins are not as popular as Bitcoin is because of the fear of intervention and price manipulation from certain parties. The next reason is of course limited stock. Coincidentally Bitcoin has a very limited supply and has very many uses. That is also what keeps Bitcoin number one and I think nothing will be able to replace it.
447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if all Bitcoin is lost? on: December 24, 2023, 09:59:48 AM
What would happen if all Bitcoin is mined and all Bitcoin is lost?

I'm still trying to think what you mean by all the Bitcoins gone. Is it like magic magic that removes something instantly? Or maybe you mean suddenly the Bitcoin network for some reason collapsed and lost all its chains? Honestly I don't know what you mean. Maybe you mean the time when there are no more coins that can be mined? if that happens then there are some answers from other users above me. That's if you live until 2140, so I don't like to assume that something impossible will happen.
448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: December 24, 2023, 09:50:51 AM
Not a problem to me I guess since it's both of you that known each other and knew how much each of you hold. I also think that most of us have this similar type of story that we've got this friend and asked us about Bitcoin and told them to buy and then just hold it until they make a profit.

But when it comes to this, knowing how much I have, I never disclose it to anybody otherwise if I think the person is not trustworthy. I just simply say that I've got less in my holdings because I have to sell.

It's surprising to see someone that you've just met again although you're long time friends that has bought with that much. Because with my friends, they don't even want to place $10 for their first purchase as they're all scared.  Cheesy

I was also surprised when I read the story. I mean $520 is a lot of money and how can your friends trust you when you haven't seen each other for a long time? Is it because you guys are really friends? Honestly, I'm sorry I see you as if you were telling something and omitting some details. There OP didn't mention how many coins he had, which made his friend curious. If he talks about the results obtained from the forum then that is impossible because the OP is still a Jr Member. Unless OP turns out to be lucky in getting potential coins from the bounty thread.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Selling All Cryptocurrency for Fiat and Earning Interest? on: December 24, 2023, 09:37:30 AM
Well, the other option is hodling Bitcoin and hoping that it will grow more and more and you can not only retire but live luxurious life off it. But I think the risk/reward ratio suggests that it's better to retire asap by taking Bitcoin profits and reinvesting them in safe assets. Because just as Bitcoin can go to millions, it could also crash to the ground, and that would be catastrophic for someone who planned to retire with Bitcoin gains - now they would have to start from scratch.

I agree with what you said. Storing all your assets in Bitcoin is very risky because if the price can rise to hundreds of thousands of dollars then one day BTC can also fall to several thousand dollars. But I believe that will not happen in the near future and may even be impossible to happen. But it's a good idea to be careful by investing your money in safe assets such as gold, shares or property.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ordinal blockchain irking me, causing almost $40 median fee now... on: December 24, 2023, 09:25:43 AM
A prominent Bitcoin Core developer and Ordinals critic, Luke Dashjr, may have had a change of heart about the NFT-like assets. Or at the very least, his company is moving beyond his own hardline stance around Ordinals.

On Thursday, Ocean—the company behind the mining pool of the same name—said that miners can now decide if they want to process Bitcoin blocks that contain non-financial transactions. Previously, the pool prohibited such actions.

While the announcement did not expressly name it, many Bitcoiners speculate that the “spam” Ocean referenced in its announcement refers to the wildly popular Ordinal inscriptions that have flooded the network in 2023.

https://decrypt.co/210662/bitcoin-ordinals-critic-caves-jack-dorsey-backed-ocean-mining-pool-flips-inscriptions

This really sucks but this is a reality that we have to accept. This means that the existence of Ordinals is enough to make costs rise so high that it is impossible to carry out small transactions at the current costs. I don't know clearly what Ordinals are but from some of the replies above it seems like it's something similar to NFTs on the ethereum network, right? What is the motivation for people to create NFTs on the Bitcoin network when we know that it will be a huge burden on the network? Is there a particular website where we can make Ordinals transactions? Are there already examples of Ordinals that are similar to NFTs? For example, a particular image?

So what are the possibilities for a solution using LN to speed up transactions at low costs?
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: December 24, 2023, 09:10:53 AM
Why do we like talking like this, this same coach was thesame person that  coached Newcastle to their first champions league after so many years. The coach has done really well and just because they lost to Luton doesn't mean he should be sacked,Manchester United also lost to WestHam,yet Ten Hag is not much criticised.

I don't think we should condemn Rob Edwards for such an embarrassing result. I mean the same as you said that the coach was the first to make Newcastle play in the Champions League and that is an extraordinary thing that must be appreciated. Indeed, the defeat against Luton looked embarrassing because no one thought this would happen. But sometimes we can understand that because the schedule is close to Christmas and Newcastle doesn't have good squad depth so it will be very difficult to rotate players at times like this.
452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anything to worry about if you use mixers and not doing anything illegal? on: December 24, 2023, 09:03:08 AM
Actually, we are not really prohibited from using a mixer. There is nothing inherently wrong with mixer services. However, this becomes a problem when these services are used to launder money and fund criminal organizations around the world. It is true that we as users do not carry out illegal activities, but mixer services themselves are often confiscated because they have been proven several times to help carry out illegal activities. In this forum mixer services will be banned but if you talk about mixers without accompanying links/shortlinks then it's not a problem IMO
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: December 24, 2023, 08:52:24 AM
Leverkusen have had a perfect squad this season. Also their coach Xabi is very hardworking. Leverkusen are yet to lose a match in the Europa League and Bundesliga this season. So undoubtedly this team can be considered for the Europa League title. Liverpool's squad is certainly more experienced and stronger than Leverkusen's. Still, there's no underestimating the Leverkusen side. This team is also very strong. Moreover, Liverpool's main goal is to win the Premier League title. I don't think Liverpool have much interest in the Europa League title. Because we have not seen a very strong performance from Liverpool even in the group stage matches.

I think the same as you. There is a possibility that Liverpool will prioritize pursuing the Premier League title rather than the European league. This will of course cause Liverpool to prioritize the EPL. This means that if at that time their position was not good in the league and had to chase victory, they might rotate their players when playing in the European league. But still Liverpool is a pretty strong team in the Europa League and will make this match even more interesting to watch. Grin
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 24, 2023, 08:43:27 AM

In past seasons we have seen teams like Dortmund and Leipzig start the season at the top of the table but gradually fall back. And finally the Bayern Munich team won the title. We have seen this in almost every season in the past. But this season the scenario is different. Bayern Munich are in good form. They are playing well in every match. Even so, Leverkusen are unable to reclaim the top spot in the table. While Bayern Munich have lost one match, Leverkusen are unbeaten so far. Leverkusen's players are also scoring a lot of goals. For these reasons, winning the title this season will be much more difficult for Munich than in previous seasons.

It doesn't seem like that. This season Leverkusen has scored 46 goals and Munich has scored 49 goals which means they both have the same number of goals in the League. This indicates that Leverkusen has not dominated the Bundesliga and as we know Munich is very strong and they could be the ones who will win the title this season. We can see last season where they competed very competitively with Dortmund but in the end they won with the same points but Munich had a better goal difference.
455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: December 24, 2023, 08:37:54 AM
They still often have internal problems, especially between players. Having a lot of star players has its own risks, because usually players who are considered stars will have very high egos and they already feel that is the case when some star players who are currently no longer part of them.
One more thing, privileging a player will definitely cause a sense of jealousy between players and I think they have also felt that too, so they should learn from experience.

In fact, this star player's ego problem occurred when Real Madrid built the first generation of Los Galacticos where they brought in many world class stars in the hope that they would become a very strong team. But in reality it's not like that. Lots of star players means there will be lots of egos for the coach to manage. And I see that PSG seems to be experiencing the same thing. I agree that there are no players as great as Mbappe there, but other star players will of course cause jealousy among the players.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 23/24 - discussion thread on: December 24, 2023, 08:28:58 AM
Ajax is surely on good recovery and this is good break for them which will help them for having better strategy for the next half of this season with now Conference league is also good chance for them to bring some confidence as well with most chances I have feeling they will be touch top four in coming weeks with AZ Alkmaar and Twente both are losing points which will help them.

Ajax is still 8 points behind Az Alkmaar in fourth place. This means they have to win some games and AZ Alkmaar lose three games so that Ajax can collect 9 points more than Az Alkmaar. I don't know how the Eredivise will be in a full season but I think it is quite a difficult mission if Az Alkmaar or Twente are able to play well enough. I am very excited to watch the next game in the Eredivise and look forward to Ajax at the end of this season.
457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: December 23, 2023, 04:56:30 PM

What makes Brazil no longer a team with extreme dominance over other teams, just look at the list of players from Argentina and Uruguay and we will see that they are two teams that have good players who play in Europe and have good coaches, and that This alone makes them capable of beating Brazil many times in a row, while Brazil has had players who are constantly involved in controversy, it is difficult for good Brazilian players to reach 38 years of age playing for major European teams. I sincerely doubt that the Real Madrid coach will accept the role of Brazil coach, that would only destroy his good reputation

That is an irony for the Brazilian squad. Nowadays they are no longer considered the strongest in football. It is even possible that they will no longer be considered a top 10 world football power. This is very sad because two decades ago they were the team that was the dream of all young children around the world. I think in the past there were no children who liked football who didn't know Brazil. I also grew up and saw how the great Brazilian players of the past with Jogo bonito brought beauty to football. It's very sad when today's kids don't even know Brazilian players and they only know Neymar.
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 23, 2023, 04:44:32 PM
Luton are leading against Newcastle United, a very important win for them if they can make sure not to drop point and loose the advantage of the goal. Tottenham Hotspur are also leading Everton, and are just few points from the top of the fable. Good bouncing back for Tottenham after the turbulent period where they lost many key players to injury.

Luton still leads 1-0. We cannot confirm the result of the match because this also reminds me of the goal in the last second in the Aston Villa vs Sheffield United match yesterday. Anything can happen if the score is still 1-0.
Tottenham were already 2-0 up in the first half and they still maintained that score. This could be a good point for Tottenham because they are already in fourth place in the standings ahead of Manchester City. But City still has one game left to postpone
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: December 23, 2023, 04:34:24 PM
Indeed, there is still no player who can replace Lautaro Martinez's role at Inter. He has always been Inter's attack motor and is also the current top scorer. The injury suffered will of course be a blow to Inter and also Inzaghi who must make a strategy to be able to fight back against Atletico. because it was clear that the fate of the two teams was not so good when they had to meet earlier. in the round of 16.

Just hope that before the second match, Lautaro Martinez can be confirmed as recovered. Inzaghi may not be able to force the healing process. but he certainly hoped he wouldn't be long.

I think this is something that no team wants. Injuries to key players have a very negative impact on the team's performance, especially if it is an elite level competition such as the Champions League. This is the same as the injuries to Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne at City which will cause their performance to decline drastically. Inter have to face Atletico which is of course a difficult match. It will be interesting to see how Inzaghi will strategize to deal with this problem.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 23, 2023, 04:28:49 PM
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_300 Here are a bit more info of what we gonna see on UFC 300. So far for me every fight looks desired to watch. Just Aljo vs Kattar looks strange, as Kattar is from other division. What is this? After a loss to O’Malley, Aljo desided to move to higher division? And what he expects to achieve there? He is no match for Volk.

I think it's a long way off because we have UFC 297 and 298 early next year. But it's interesting when we talk about sterling and trying to debut at Featherweight. Because there are monsters like Volk which of course I think are too tough to beat. Is the reason because you really want to find a Featherweight champion? I assume that Volk's defeat yesterday against Makachev opened up Volk's weaknesses, namely kicks and reach from fighters who are taller than him. Yes, this is just my personal assumption but what do you think?
