I don't think so they are toying with Arsenal here. With Gundogan leaving City, they really need a strong defensive midfielder. With Rice, there is no risk as he has on a very good level as compared to most defensive midfielders in the market. Arsenal are reported to be preparing their next bid - which could be their last while City are just joining the race and about to make their first bid. Sadly, I don't think there are much chances of Arsenal winning this race now. Sad

I also think that Arsenal would have a very hard time to convince Declan Rice to join them if he also receives an offer from Manchester City now. ManCity is the strongest football team in the world in the last 3 years or so and they are also the reigning Champions League winner. The only think that could be in favor of Arsenal would be if  Declan Rice is that kind of player that does not want to be a part of a sheikh or oligarch toy Club, but most players don't really care about that.

Well to be honest, City have a very strong squad but Arsenal are just building theirs so Arsenal kinda take things smartly like if the player is costing then too much then they quit the race to sign the player. Arsenal want Rice desperately and that's why they are making a big bid which is unlike Arsenal but I am sure there is a limit where they think they have planned to not go further also. I personally would have loved to see him in Arsenal colours but City is really hard one to compete.

Rice are open to any offer and West Ham wants a good fee structure so it's only about the money the two clubs will spend now. I think City are gonna make it in the end, it's obvious.

Arsenal and Manchester City both have full agreements with West Ham. I think the  ball is now in Declan's Rice court. But since this Declan Rice transfer meltdown of yesterday;

-Edu has posted himself flexing.

-Relaible news outlets are still saying that Arsenal are Rice's favourite.

-The rumoured Manchester City's bid has remained a rumour.

Maybe Arsenal will be getting this player after all, but then its Arsenal.

Arsenal leaded the race for a long time for Declan Rice but now Man City just swooped in and made things complicated. West Ham now can ask for more cash and i think they will do that. Maybe Man City is just messing with Arsenal but now the player can go either way and if i was Rice i would go to City and win trophies

Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzi is in ideal positions to achieve his objectives, but the board keeps releasing key players, jeopardizing the club's chances of winning the Bundesliga. If one can recurred the club's past and present deals, they sold out talented players who, if present in the club at the time, would most likely have a different story. Borrusia Dortmund are more concerned with trophies; they need to start winning titles because it's becoming clear that they produce their funds by transferring their talented and promising players to outstanding teams, which is a huge loss on their part.

At this point I don't even think money is the reason they sell players to Bayern Munich. I said so because they sell their players very cheap to Bayern. If any club that's not Bayern Munich goes for a Dortmund player, they will slap a very high price tag on the player, but if it was Bayern, they player will leave for almost nothing.
Just recently Raphaël Guerreiro joined Bayern Munich from Dortmund for free. So how exactly is Dortmund making any money out of that.
Some times I wonder if all the Bundesliga teams play for Bayern Munich, especially Dortmund.

I would say both clubs have good relationship despite being Bundesliga rivals if you ask me. It's not just Dortmund giving it to Bayern at cheap or free but Bayern have also let their players go to Dortmund for free (for example Sule last season). I think their scouts targets players who are about to go out of contract within a year ahead of them signing the contract extension. We have seen the case of Lewandowski where he moved to Dortmund for free but in actual he already had let Dortmund known of his stance that he is not gonna stay further at the club and is gonna honor whatever duration is left on the contract. Who knows maybe Bayern had already communicated with Lewandowski then that lead to Lewandowski to not to sign further. I feel like Guerreiro is the same case.

Here is the list of all the transfers between Bayern and Dortmund: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vergleich/vereinsvergleich/statistik/27_16

It seems many Mancshter City players are going to check the offers they have from other teams and Kalvin Phillips is one of these players, since Kalvin Phillips couldn't have a good performance in Manchester City I think he is going to join Bayer Munich soon because CAA is it an agent of Phillips and this company have good relation with Bayern Munich.
They transferred this player for 42m from Leeds to Manchester City and now maybe he is going to leave Manchester City.

https://www.the-sun.com/sport/8439239/kalvin-phillips-transfer-bayern-munich-man-city-rice/

I don't think its just yet for Kalvin Philips to move from Manchester City. Remember, he just arrived and has won achievements. Obviously lack of game time is a factor for him but I think he did say that he will give it a time at City [1]. City is a big club with lot of good players and its a competition within the squad so before moving to such club a player knows about that he is gonna struggle with the game time there. Also with Gundogan already leaving and Silva about to leave, it is very much likely that he is gonna get proper game time now.

Pep Guardiola wanted Ilkay to stay in the team. But an agreement could not be reached between Ilkay and club managers. In fact, I haven't even seen an offer made to Ilkay by Manchester City club managers. But Pep and all the fans were declaring that Ilkay should stay in Manchester City. I think club managers have firm principles on such matters. Ilkay showed a good performance on the field this season. But being 32 years old, he may not have met the club's principles. Now Ilkay's performance in his new team is a matter of curiosity for me. Likewise, the performance of the Manchester City midfield is a matter of curiosity for me.

I think City actually did put a one year contract extension before Gundogan and Guardiola also wanted for him to stay but he chose new challenge to move to Barcelona. It was a "perfect" way to close his Manchester City chapter as he had a great last season scoring goals, given more freedom to attack and take shots, captain of the treble winning squad. Surely must have felt like achieving everything to him.

Barcelona is a new club for him so he will need time to adjust but he is a strong player. If Xavi has the right plans for him then he can definitely help Barcelona. As for City, it was bit unanticipated so they are looking for a new midfielder but given the players they have in midfield, I think City will also do fine.

[..] Now Manchester city did bid the same thing Arsenal offered. Nothing exceeded, Just a better payment structure and feasible add ons by West ham standards. I feel if Arsenal were perennial winners of different trophies of late, they will have accepted trophy milestones for add ons.

I think they haven't yet made a bid. What happened till now is actually just City communicating with West Ham about status of Rice deal. They will be making their first bid very soon and as for Arsenal it will be third. It will be interesting to see what bids will both clubs make in order to get the player. West Ham is the only one making most out of the situation.

Honestly, Rice is a top player but in transfer market you have to be smart as well. Now that City has joined the race, it seems a bit difficult for Rice to come to Arsenal but even so if we don't get the player then go after another one on the list. There are plenty of defensive midfielders also and one of the names is Tielemans which we were interested in last time.

I can't understand why Arsenal's plans have to be tripped up by other teams if Declan Rice later transfers to Manchester City. However, the competition for Declan Rice has only just begun and now it remains only for the player to decide which club to play for next season.

With Mudryk it was the fee being little over the top for Arsenal so they left the race for him. In Rice's race, the most  crucial thing was Gundogan's decision to stay or leave and now that he is reported to be leaving, City is joining the race as *expected*. Rice is open to join any club so it is going to be bidding war between the clubs interested in him which are Arsenal and Man City as of now. But we all know how deep City's pockets are so if they are really after this player then Arsenal has lost the Rice race.

Sometimes direct talks with coach of the interested teams can also sway things towards the club so both clubs might try to do that as well. For Arsenal I think they might leave the race if at any point they feel like the fee West Ham are asking is not actually going for.

Exodus of the 2020-21 CL winners squad commences  Shocked

Seriously, it's quite crazy, here's the list of all Chelsea players who have won the Champions League sold or are going to be sold:

- Kai Havertz (just now)
- Kovacic (city)
- Kante (saudi league) <- soon to be followed by Zeyich and Mendy
- RLC
- Mount
- Pulisic
- Kepa ?

And when you consider how even more of Chelsea players left last season, it goes on to show that Chelsea squad really does have a short turnaround.

TBH, its not that surprising actually if you ask me. We all know about the Chelsea situation with FFP and with deadline coming near which is on June 30th, it was evident they will sell most of the players. I think I have written about the situation somewhere last week, yeah got it [1]. Using your list and editing it to see how much Chelsea has recovered from the sales.

  • Kai Havertz >>> Arsenal : 70m Euro [fixed] + 6m Euro [add-ons] ✅
  • Kovacic >>> City: 30m Euro ✅
  • Kante >>> Al-Ittihad: Free ✅
  • Ziyech >>> Al-Nassr: Still in negotiation ⏳
  • Koulibaly >>> Al-Hilal: 25m Euro ⏳
  • Mendy >>>Al-Ahli: Both combined with Koulibaly deal reported to be 40m Euro ⏳
  • RLC >>> AC Milan interested (reports about 2-3 weeks ago) !?
  • Mount >>> Manchester United: Chelsea wants 60-65m Euro⏳
  • Pulisic [open to move]
  • Kepa [not sure if he is open to move but I think Chelsea will keep him]

Recovered: 100m Euro almost
In negotiation: Around 120m Euro
Target: 200m Euro of Player sales

Yeah, its bit crazy that they are letting go most of the players that helped them in CL in 2019 but right now that's the only way to get out of this FFP situation.

Roberto Firmino has confirmed his departure from Liverpool after his stay ends on June 30, and so far Liverpool will only have Darwin Núñez as a centre-forward if they do not find a replacement for Firmino. Darwin Núñez has been very unstable this season, but maybe Klopp will start him as often as possible if Liverpool don't find another striker.

I think the plans will be to go without a striker signing as I have seen Klopp using Carvalho, Jota and Gakpo at this position earlier. So I don't think they are *actually* looking for another striker at the moment. I think it likely would be Diaz-Gakpo-Salah for Liverpool leading the attacks and maybe Klopp plans to rotate from matches to matches. Also it would be hard currently for Liverpool to actually sell Darwin Nunez and they are not the type of club to sell someone that was brought for a huge fee and take a loss, so I think Nunez will be given fair amount of chances next season as well to develop and showcase his talent. Earlier Klopp also defended the player when fans doubted about his finishing skills, so hopefully Nunez can really show that he was all worth the money Liverpool spent on him.

There are rumors about the arrival of a new striker, but so far I think it's just rumours. Liverpool basically have Nunez, but because Nunez's form has been disappointing some times, then Liverpool need to find another striker who can back up Nunez when his form is poor. But I'm sure Nunez will be better next season, but Klopp has to give him a lot of faith.

I think there is no dire need for Liverpool to get a striker but even if they are then I think they are looking for backup player as a striker. So far their main focus has been on midfield in this transfer window.

According to bbcsport news Chelsea had completed the signing of Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £52m, he is a quality striker having proved to be one of the best striker in Europe and with the imminent departure of Abumeyang to Saudi, Havertz to Arsenal and lots other attacking players who will exit the club this summer and in a order to avoid avoid FFP ban Chelsea is set to offload and trim many of their players and with possibly departure of Lukaku thus necessitate signing Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig who I believe will perform brilliantly for Chelsea going by his past records in both Ligue 1 and Bundesliga.

Well most part of the transfer was already done an year ago in a discreet manner with Nkunku to join for the next season back then. A very good striker indeed and definitely someone that Chelsea needs right now spearheading the Chelsea's attack for next season. I am actually excited to see how well he performs for them. Chelsea at current stage can't afford to make bad transfers.

Liverpool last won the Champions League trophy in 2019. From 2019 to 2022/23 season, Liverpool have not been able to perform any significant in the Champions League. They are certainly one of the favorites for the Europa League based on their past numbers but if you consider their current performance, their performance will leave you wondering. Brighton and Roma could be tough opponents for Liverpool. In the 22/23 season we saw Roma play the Europa League final but they were unfortunately defeated by savila in the final match. Liverpool have a great chance to win the Europa League title this season. Liverpool and Brighton and Roma are also likely.

It's not that easy to win Champions League so I am not sure about Liverpool running favourites but given how Liverpool plays one would have hope for them to qualify for CL at least. This season didn't went according to plans and I feel like there were lot of factors behind it. I think for upcoming season they would hope for top 4 finish at least. About Europa, it does seems Liverpool, Brighton and Roma would be the favourites but transfer window is still open and we could see lot of crucial players move out still. Let's see how the squad shapes up after the summer transfer window.

Am sorry to say this, but Liverpool has tired players to bring in the silverware !

Remember when Klopp just came to Liverpool, the current players were having an overhaul  which happened and went on to win a couple of trophies during this period..
But unfortunately the team hardly has rotation calls like City does to allow these guys to rest but seems week in week out its the same faces and new youthful players havent been introduced,  if they dont get some fresh legs on the squad we should expect same results as the ended league results.

Liverpool actually don't have good density like City does. Although they do have good no. players in most position but injuries really affected them last season. I do agree that they really need to start rotating players because that's how you can have all the crucial players for the important fixtures that club can't afford to lose. I feel like Liverpool really need smart transfers right now like they did with Van Dijk, Firmino, Mane, Salah. They already have made some good deals like Luis Diaz and Mac Allister but since midfield is going kinda weak, I feel like they need a few more in midfield and it has to be right.
455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 20, 2023, 09:11:43 AM
If they can keep their squad this year, they can play better games next year. They identified their missing areas throughout the matches and made some reinforcements. maybe they'll add some more. Simeone is a smart coach and I wonder how he will go about convincing the players. While such high salaries are given in Arabia, it is a country that players will strive to go to right now because.

It will be tough to keep up with Saudi in current transfer window. The way they are making moves on some good names in Europe is really something. Back to topic, I think Atletico Madrid will sign players eventually as Saul and Doherty are in talks with Saudi clubs. Simeone actually haven't used Saul much over the years but Doherty however was kinda rotation player for them at right-back. I think Atletico Madrid will need a right back if Doherty leaves.

Arteta and Edu might be making a hell of a mistake. How do you let go of your two most senior midfielders in the team. Bringing in Lavia and Rice should also not be an excuse to let Xhaka and Partey leave. Why can they keep Partey and also bring in understudy. Good squad depth is of importance to every club. If they seriously want to compete, they must be ready to have enough depth.

Yeah, its going to be blunder if both leaves right now when we have to play CL also in next season. Without proper defensive midfielders it will really again set us back after building the momentum and the squad for so long. I think both will only leave if we find replacement for them. We need experienced defensive midfielders to rely on. Declan Rice is one but we need another one go really competitive into the next season.
457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 19, 2023, 04:12:44 PM
Mudryk actually is a good player and he was performing well at Shakhtar Donetsk which make Potter was tempting to his talent and buy him but indeed he is overpriced because as a player with a price of 100 millions he should be able to give important contribution for Chelsea and indeed currently he was one of Chelsea's worst purchases in the winter transfer but because he is not on the list of players for sale i think Mudryk can showing to the fans that he can adapt and performing well next season and i have been notice one of important thing why Mudryk cannot able to performing well is he was lost his confidence and in my opinion he should be able to pick himself up and regain confidence

Normally when there is lot of clubs after a player then the price tag of the player really takes a spike and its normal. I am glad that Arsenal left going after him when they didn't thought that it wasn't that worth going for. I however feel that he has lot of potential. He lacks finishing but I think if someone really direct him well then I think he really can be a team player and contribute a lot as a winger. It's a lot of pressure at Chelsea right now given how there season went so it will take time for him but I have no doubt about Mudryk as far as I have seen from him. I wouldn't classify him as a "worst purchase" , yeah he was overpriced like you said but if they give him chances then he will be a good a long term player and hopefully maybe can realize the value after his sale.

Based on his past record in the national team, I think he will make PSG fans happy again by improving the team in a way many potential players will like to join to get more impartation on football from Luis Enrique which he has to release to PSG players in next season. I think, Mbappe will not leave the team in this season because of this potential coach their management are planning to sign into the team, because the coach have more to deliver to the team so that many people will believe in his professional. It will be a welcome development to PSG if their president can embrace Luis Enrique to come and revive the team in a way he will make the victory consistent for PSG.

Its just not his record as Spain's manager but also he has also has good record with Barcelona as well. Remember Neymar-Suarez-Messi trio dominating between 2014-17 seasons? Check this to see what he achieved during his period as Barcelona's manager. Luis Enrique is a very good coach and will certainly do great managing PSG. At last PSG are considering serious candidate for manager position now. What I dislike about PSG is that PSG has high expectations and targets for a manager so it is very hard for manager to survive there being as a manager. I hope that changes over the time otherwise I don't think they will win what they are actually looking for (CL).

It's a shame but it seems that Thomas Partey is likely to leave. Romano reports that there is a good chance of Ghanaian midfielder leaving Arsenal this transfer window [1]. I really liked the guy and way he drives himself and find a long distance scoring position and also has scored some stunners for Arsenal this season too. We now just have Jorginho as a defensive midfielder.

Now Arsenal can't afford to lose in Declan Rice race.
