441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN] Memorycoin | Modern PC PoW Mining w/ RAM and Block-Chain Elections on: April 28, 2015, 05:24:20 PM
i built myself a new wallet today with the upgraded version of openssl 1.0.2a using the source here

https://github.com/memorycoin/memorycoin I noticed it compiles as version v2.999.999.1-gv3010123.010.102

and appears to work fine, except for one little thing..... lol

the button for the 'new address' on the receive tab is missing !!

also the links on the votes tab in the qt client seem to not reslove to the proper webpage

i put it on github here https://github.com/cinnamoncoin/memorycoin2

here is the wallet on github https://github.com/cinnamoncoin/memorycoin2/releases/tag/2.999.999.1

someone may want to have a look at it

EDIT ONE - 1   The wallet released by the developmen team seems to have the same issue

I am aware of those issues,

I believe the old devs wanted to restrict addresses to default addresses to make voting easier. I know the links are broken because the votes website had been offline.

http://mmc-votes.com/ works but it's really the debugging information. I plan on working on memorycoin core but would like to have more developers on the team before upgrading to the latest bitcoin source.

btw the current compiled version of v3.010.102 (the suffix in that version numbering above)

Thanks

Part of the Memorycoin servers were down last night for a few hours. We've gotten them back online.

For your information, we are hiring a CSO, CNO, and CMO. I also am in contact with the majority of the existing large-shareholders so you can get elected quickly.

The pay is still 1% of all block-reward from your election date.

Cannot sync the wallet ? Stuck on block 86604  Undecided

What does your debug.log file say? do you have any connections to the network?
Are you running MAC?

Development in the coin is doing fine.

how are things going on? is mmc still alive?

Dev chat is ongoing, frequent, and contact occurring on a bi-daily basis despite timezone differences.

I'm assuming the CTO, CNO, and CHA positions until more candidates come up.

Insightful comments, cinnamon_carter. With this developer-paid system, putting hard work into Memorycoin will pay off in the coming future, if and when Memorycoin's value increases.

You may want to uncomment out the directorys for the libraries and dependencies required to compile Memorycoin on Windows. Maybe that will work.

2 little questions to devs,

certainly not urgent but when you have time if you don't mind,

1) To compile are you using cmake or qt or what exactly to make the windows binary wallets you are distributing ?

I only tried to compile it 2x quickly the other day and got some weird errors , was using qt 4.8.6 i believe , with boost 1_55_0 , open ssl1.0.1j and the most recent qr code libraries and miniiupnpc. I was tied up at the time and figured I would have another go at it again this week.

2) Has there been any additional releases of open sourced miners with more optimizations /open  cl support ect..  in the past few months.  While I did not see any on the thread I still felt it worth asking. Thanks guys.

Windows Binary Libraries are compiled under nitrogenetic's tutorial. If you need help with the compile, you can post here.

The most optimized miner is closed source, by yvg1900. (YAM)

The only GPU miners that have ever come out were only supported by specific pools. Those pools have discontinued accepting shares for Memorycoin. They were closed source and only supported a specific amount of Video Cards (over 2G VRAM).

How do you guys go about nominating charities, specifically I'm interested in this: "Voted Charity receives 1% of current block rewards"?

The block-chain decides who receives the charity awards. 1% of the block-rewards are rewarded to the charity that wins the next upcoming election block.

Voter's balances are weighted in terms of electing a candidate.

When will the fork be?

We just forked a few days ago, all executables are available now.
With the new client I'm having problems on sending coins, fees are very high and I can't send any coins because of this. For example I'm trying to send 10 MMC an the client wallet says I'ts impossible because applies a 150 MMC fee.

My fees are fairly small.

What client version are you running + Build Date?
You may need to clear your block-chain if you had an earlier version of it.

Hello Memorycoin Community, passive followers, and greetings to the cryptocurrency community. On behalf of the Memorycoin Dev. Team, we are pleased to announce several changes to the Memorycoin code to be rolled in an update called v3.0, fixing some crucial flaws and optimizing the code. Many of these changes have been in development for a while and even with a limited pay, we were able to push these through without an issue.

First of all I’d like to compliment FreeTrade for his astute coding when he created Memorycoin and possibly Lottoshares as well. There were several things problematic with the Memorycoin code by FreeTrade, outlined very shortly below to reduce trolling:
• Grant Awards only reward 5.66% of supply.
• 10 million coin cap supersedes the 2.15 minimum block value.
• Grant awards were not calculated against this 10 million cap and there was unexpected hyperinflation.
• 10 million coin cap will be hit within weeks of after the first year.
• 2% inflation cannot work if there is 10 million coin cap.

There are several things we’re going to change in the v3.0 update:
Source-Code is still open*
• Officer Discussion Board for the development of the coin is now closed to the public and only disclosed to shareholders and other team members.
• Grant awards will now reward 6.00% of supply.
• The 10 million market cap will now be hit after the first year, through reducing the block reductions until the 52nd week.
• 2.00% of the supply will be computed and supplied at a constant rate for the next years.
o 200,000 MMC will be minted between the 53rd and 102nd week since the coin launch.
• In order to optimize the block-chain, we’re increasing block time to eight minutes. The supply will be increased by 33% to satisfy the same supply period, but also relying on a decreased reduction to reach 10 million coins by the 52nd week.
• We are increasing the interval of grant block reward times to every 8 hours, as opposed to every 2 hours to reduce block-chain bloat – also making elections more competitive to candidates who appeal to different regions in the world (3 elections per day).
• Temporal Block Retargeting (Faster difficulty changes in order to reduce multi-pool or potentially aggressive mining.)
• The new Memorycoin executables will be uploaded and distributed within the next week.

There are more changes to be made, and will be rolled in the next v3.1 update including some of the following:
• Grant Database optimization.
• Votes of Decay, encourage competition between running candidates.
• Proxy Voting, and Resignation Options.
• More shareholder features: Yields over time to combat inflation.

The market correction is coming! Hoard all of the MMC and mine while supply is still high!

Hi, my wallet giving fatal error. Any idea?

Can you give us more information about the error?
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN] Memorycoin | Featuring The ONLY PAID Developer Team on the Chain! on: August 28, 2014, 06:13:17 AM
Just getting back into MMC and have a question on the latest wallet.

I mined some back in the day when it first came out which show up as "mined" and confirmed.  I just imported my PTS wallet and those shares say unconfirmed?  Do they mature at a certain block?

They should be confirmed at block 8820 and once you import and resync the database - should come up as confirmed afterwards.
Let me know more info so I can help debug.
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN] Memorycoin | Featuring The ONLY PAID Developer Team on the Chain! on: August 15, 2014, 01:19:18 AM
amazing- it works
don't know what I did differently- but I did it again
maybe just reading your words did the magic trick Smiley

thnx again!

Does every new user that downloads the wallet have to do this?
isn't that a problem?

Honestly if you're behind a firewall it will be almost impossible to receive incoming connections and that will affect your network connectivity.

Here is my full memorycoin.conf if you want to have maximum network connectivity for your client.
In %APPDATA%/MemoryCoin/memorycoin.conf :
Code:
addnode=mmc-square.com
addnode=mmc-square.com:1969
addnode=mmc-square.com:1970
addnode=mmc-square.com:1971
addnode=mmc-square.com:1972
addnode=mmc-square.com:1973

These churn nodes are run by the MMC Dev. Team.

You can add it to your memorycoin.conf file to maximize network connectivity.

Please delete the Blockchain to resync everything.

Please have attention to the file wallet.dat, that file cant be deleted or you will loose all the coins.

Close wallet and then delete que folder with blockchain.

this may help: https://mmc-square.com/support-help/4/wallet-will-not-sync/230/

Tried everything that was suggested there. Still has 0 connections

Please try these commands to add our churn nodes:
addnode mmc-square.com add
addnode shrine.mmc-square.com add
addnode santana.mmc-square.com add

Well, the wallet updated some, but it seems stuck now between 37-40 hours behind, in the last about 3 hours.

I have 13 active connections to the MMC network.

Can someone (one of the officers perhaps) look into it?

Thx

Can you provide some information such as the block number that you're stuck on and the wallet version?

YAM is closed source, so you can't compile it. There are only pre-compiled versions available.
