I would also be interested to hear from anyone who has had experience compiling bmminer onto a miner from the bitmain github. I too have some controller boards that won't read the tach output from a fan.

Ive honestly never seen that error before, and I run almost 10k S9/T9s. I know its been mentioned a few times on the forum here but I dont recall seeing a good answer :/
Thanks, I worked out a warranty repair with bitmain. I assume you use dhcp also? And do you have any suggestions for internal servers besides dhcp dns and ntp?

¿Has considerado otros lugares?

You should see what you get with only 1 board plugged in. The S9 can draw upwards of 1500 W and it's highly recommended to run them on 220V.

Seems like a power problem to me. Are you running on 220V?

First off, the pool's scoring hashrate is the total hashrate of all slushpool workers (not just yours) at the time, which naturally varies. On slushpool the alert level for each miner is adjusted over time (if not set manually) based on miner hashrate. For example, if your machine has been hashing 16 TH and then drops to 11, the pool will think something might be wrong. But if it is steady at the 11 TH rate for enough time, the pool thinks all is good.
The pool monitoring levels are for your convenience. The key indicator is your miner's scoring rate. If it is only at 11 TH and should be at 16 then something is wrong with your miner.

You should use pastebin or some similar site to post your kernel log, and then you can link to it from here.
It looks like you have an autotune firmware, in fact it is the latest from Nov 2017. If you want to flash another firmware you should probably stick with other autotune firmwares. But first, let us take a look at your kernel log.

One thing I haven't been able to figure out yet is how in the web interface it shows the each hashboard as several different chains but electronically I can't find any difference, it just seems to be one long chain. Perhaps it is a folly to assume that each chain is independent, has anyone seen a working chain between two bad ones? Maybe the chains just fail from end to beginning? ( I'm not a miner, the only boards I receive are total failures lol)
As I understand it, the S9 considers each of the three hashboards as a different "chain", chain[5] is on the right, chain[6] in the middle and chain[7] on the left, corresponding to the J6 J7 J8 connectors. These chains are treated independently. However, it seems all of the chips on a single board are chained together in series, with 63 per board. The miner status page simply splits the number of chips it detects on a board into groups of eight for visual reasons, but they are still all in one long series. (I think)

You should provide the kernel log. The board may be defective, you can boot with one board plugged in at a time or with a different power supply to see if that helps.

You either run the miner at 9th or you replace the board. You can replace it yourself if you are sure that you are no longer under warranty. Bitmain has been providing a 6 month warranty for their miners for a while now. You can always check with the serial number of your miner just in case: https://shop.bitmain.com/user/viewCertSn.htm
