441  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it allowed to buy someone's account? on: June 18, 2018, 03:40:59 PM
It's not against the rules, so you will not get banned.
Then those rules need to be changed. Rules also need to be amended when requirements araised.

Quote
But it's extremely discouraged and both of your accounts will receive a negative trust if you get caught.
You're saying that if some member didn't get caught,he didn't received negative feedback. That's not fair. Mods should implement a system to find out wether account was bought or not. I remembered famous quote of Pablo Picasso "Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist". With the technological advancement peoples will learn how to buy alt accounts and not to get caught. The real problem as i believed is, if the intent of the person who bought that account is spamming for bounty campaigns or signature campaigns.

3. Token and crowdsale contracts: Scammers can do that without any programming knowledge by using Artemine https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2153950.0 http://artemine.org/ ($100)
Nowadays it didn't cost even 100$ for creating ERC20 token on Fiverr, just as low as 20$ from level 1 seller within 2 days.(Scammers now even can get listed their scam tokens in etherdelta within that 20$ budget)
creating ethereum ERC20 token for just 20$ from level 1 seller

Don't know why these tech guys can't use their tokenomics knowledge in useful way rather just providing nutrition for scammers to steal money from peoples by selling their knowledge like sellers in pavement. I strongly believed there should be a way to trace the token creater at the first place.
443  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think of India on: June 16, 2018, 07:09:10 AM
I think one day India can become the largest economic hub in the world, if they can implement proper legislation against corruption and bribary. India is way ahead than most of the developed countries if they implemented such legislations and also national policies which didn't change with the ruling government. That is the major reason as I believed India didn't get enough forign investments as expected.

If we checked the most number of scientist currently working in NASA from a forign country is India. Guess who is the CEO of Google?(he is also an Indian).Though India has a lower litaracy rate( 74% according to the consensus in 2011) when compared to the other countries, India has produced some great masterminds in every fields where most of them are currently working in foreign countries. So that tells the story regarding brain drain. India needs to find a way to stop those brain drain and should implement a system to retain those professionals to serve their countries economy.

In a nutshell I think India is one of a kind nation having large amount of land area, most importantly the 2nd most populated country(human resource). So if they can implement followings

-Strong legislation against corruption and bribary
-Good national policies which didn't changed with government
-stopping brain drain and get direct involvement from professionals for the economy.

No any other country can chalange the economy of India.

P.S.- I'm not an Indian and I only shared my view regarding India.
444  Other / Meta / Re: Subforum for account ban request on: June 15, 2018, 06:11:26 PM
By considering all the facts my initial impression about new subforum has been changed to two best possible methods suggested by Welsh and LTU_btc as follows,(Thanks for your practical solutions)

- Showing the reasons of banned when someone login into a banned account
- Showing massage to contact Theymos/Cyrus when someone gets banned

So I'm hoping someone having powers will see this thread and take actions someday. Lets together make Meta section clog free(at least less) Smiley
445  Other / Meta / Re: Subforum for account ban request on: June 14, 2018, 12:43:32 PM
Anyway, 99.9% of banned users have no chance to be unbanned,
Absolutely right. That's what I'm highlighting. Why we are allowing to post those annoying posts asking the same question again and again by those 99.9% everyday whose already knows the answer that they get.

Quote
this is why there are no reason to create separate section/subforum for that small issue.
I'm just asking forum members suggestions only and I'm not saying we must do it. I'm also now thinking there should be an another way to control those beggings like creating complete guide for "how the Bitcointalk accounts get banned ?"
446  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will you guys help me to award merits please. on: June 13, 2018, 06:11:40 AM
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. What is merit btw and how I can get or give someone merit on this forum. Thanks before and GBU
You can't give merits for someone unless you have earned your own sMerits (Spendable Merits) Actually you need at least 2 Merits in order to send 1 sMerit to someone who deserved it. (Don't ask me now "how can i earned merits?" for that case use "search" function Smiley)
Read this post and you will know everything about Merit system >>> FAQ:Everything you need to know about forum 'activity, account ranks and merit
447  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will you guys help me to award merits please. on: June 12, 2018, 06:52:46 PM
Jet Cash, I understand your point of view. However, I want to say that there are members like me that want to build the local community first (in my case I am an Italian contributor) but cannot gain too much merit due to lack of merit source in our subforum. I am part of a small community that is growing every day.  My mission is to spread crypto words all over Italy Tongue
I also agreed with you. There are so many members don't have local boards in order to build awareness about crypto currency and some members having vast knowledge about crypto field but not the english. Especially people who feared the language barrier though they eager to join the cryto world. so Jet cash, do you think lack of local boards, lack of merit sources in subforums , having number of merit sources in some perticular local boards will not directly attributes to the disparity in distribution of merits? In that scenario I think numbers will matter and quantitative will win against qualitative. What do you think?
448  Other / Meta / Re: Subforum for account ban request on: June 12, 2018, 06:12:29 PM
Well, technically the message includes an email which you are suppose to send a message too, but some users have claimed they never hear back of it so it could no longer be actively monitored. Instead, of making a new sub forum we could just alter the message which displays when someone has been banned, and ask them to contact the admins via the forums.
I have seen that when some members get banned for spaming and they were creating new alt accounts only for requesting  "how I can get unbanned?" via the forum. So don't you think that will create another problem of creating so many alts?

A new sub forum for this kind of issue just seems unnecessary.
Oh oh that means you're hoping to start new sub forums for some kind of other issues Smiley
449  Other / Meta / Re: Subforum for account ban request on: June 12, 2018, 06:00:47 PM
The good thing to come out of those threads is hilariousandco answering why the account is banned and it won't be activated again.
hilariousandco is doing great job by answering most of the account banned cases. I have also found a Newbie who joined the forum 2014 named
hilariousandco-rapped ( don't know original hilariousandco banned that member Smiley)

If we really want to take action against the redundant threads, we must move them to trashcan.
I also think that is a good solution ( hoping trash can will not filled quickly).
450  Other / Meta / Subforum for account ban request on: June 12, 2018, 03:44:48 PM
I have seen that, there is a recent trend for posting so many requests from newbies regarding removal of account banning under the forum "Meta". Actually the precentage of posts are too high which is diluting the "Meta" forum. So i think it is better if mods can create "separate sub section" under "Meta" for those requests.

Following posts are made only for account recovery request ( It's 5 out of 34 posts in the 1st page of Meta when I checking).

451  Other / Meta / Re: Report to moderator? on: June 11, 2018, 07:18:44 PM
It is definitely useful. You know the spam bots which are created to open trash topics on bitcointalk can also be programmed to use that Report to Moderator function which is a bit heavy operation on the server end.
Do you think I'm a spambot who tries to overload "Report to moderator" function Smiley. Trust me I'm not.

Hence the restriction applied to anything that is going to result in an action which GET/POST data to the server totally makes sense.
The thing I didn't makes sense is that why we are ristricting good members good behaviors as a solution for a spammers bot programs. Why can't we introduce a separate system to identify the user wether bot or human instead demotivating well wishers of the forum.
452  Other / Meta / Report to moderator? on: June 11, 2018, 06:24:46 PM
When I reading some posts in the forum,I have seen that some of the newbies are spamming (don't know wether we can call it spamming or not) in the "Off topic" board by  posting with Russian language when original posts were posted in english. It is really annyoing when someone making replies with another  languages while having nice conversations in the forum. It is better if you can make those posts limited to local boards where having freedom for all the users with their native language.
So  I have used the function of "Report to moderator" about that posts (posts not in English) and then suddenly this error massage has been displayed by mentioning that my account need to become more established to used the "Report to moderator" function more oftenly.

So is that necessary to limit this function while I have reported with 100% accuracy rate in previously. I appreciate your valuble thoughts regarding this issue.

P.S- The following three users are continuesly posting with Russian language in "Off topic" board.

If anyone can check this is safe too, let me know?
https://computta.com/?ref=344850 this is my referral link
I don't think you're allowed to post refferel links here,so it is better if you can bookmarked this Unofficial rules of Bitcointalk and respect the forum rules as a respected forum member. Though this board names "Off topics", this is not an advertisement billboard.
455  Other / Meta / Re: Why can't we build mobile version of Bitcointalk? on: June 08, 2018, 05:49:47 AM
Maybe the mobile app will just be consider if there are massive requests about it. This forum is powered by SMF so it will be a hard work I guess porting all functions to the mobile app. Not just sure about it.
So why can't we request from Theymos about mobile app?
therefore stop hitting "all" every time I want to go to the next page.
This is my biggest concern mate and I am still hitting "all" every time Smiley
456  Other / Meta / Re: Why can't we build mobile version of Bitcointalk? on: June 07, 2018, 08:31:31 PM
OP, I'm with you on this and even though I'm pretty much a neanderthal when it comes to tech stuff,
Funny thing about neanderthal is that they had bigger brain than homo sapeins Smiley

I finally, finally got a new PC a few months ago, so my posts are now done with a real keyboard, but up until getting that new computer I was doing most of my browsing and posting on my smartphone--and it sucked.
I know that pain pretty much since I am still using  my two thumbs.

I'd love to hear that reason from Theymos himself.
Agreed with two thumbs and hoping The great Theymos will see this.

Having said all of that, I'm not a donator here and it's not my forum.  I'll use it however it exists and be grateful for it.

457  Other / Meta / Why can't we build mobile version of Bitcointalk? on: June 07, 2018, 07:32:32 PM
I am pretty much a mobile man(like most of the people nowadays). So I have searched, is there any mobile version of Bitcointalk forum? Guess what, I couldn't found anything except this app made by Logik back in 2013.

Link for OP>>>https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=165779.0

But that app is also not working in my mobile except nice interface. I'm not a tech guy but I have seen that very talented members who have vast experience about app development. So why can't we make a mobile user freindly app for Bitcointalk forum without diluting it's features and theame as it is(which I believed the Hallmark of Bitcointalk forum). Your suggestions are highly appreciated.

P.S - I am really frustrated with the system of zoom in and out with two thumbs at once Smiley

458  Other / Meta / Re: Merit System: the true value behind it on: June 07, 2018, 06:31:07 PM

But recently I have seen that Bitcointalk- endorsed ICO(I think you know what I mean) So I think you will reconsider about the fact regarding ICO and Bitcointalk. Smiley

No, what do you mean?
Oh no..you didn't see this yet? or try to pretend that you haven't seen Howeycoin Smiley
459  Other / Meta / Re: A description of the Bitcoin Talk merit system on: June 06, 2018, 05:10:52 PM
Of course, there are exceptions but when someone don't want any help, you can do almost nothing...
You can do almost nothing everything Smiley.

Just to keep you guys happy, I've added a photo gallery.
I haven't got anything to put in it yet, but the collection is active with a gallery skin.
Way to go and looking forward some detailed infographics.
460  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best time to take profit in Trading on: June 05, 2018, 12:34:13 PM
I think if we can use the limit order function more often we can make profit. My formula is very simple and more reliable. When market is in a dip I decide to setup my buy limit orders into three or four different price levels and setup profit margins at about 20% accordingly to buy orders. Don't forget to setup stop losses around 10% margin. By making series of treads we can get a net profit instead of one tread. It's only matters net profit at the end of the day Smiley
