MUST READ
For all new players and old peeps lacking the fundamentals and are clueless of what to make of the current situation.
DRK is the only contender and successor of BTC/LTC.
You shall not look at DRK as any other coin or think it will follow the pattern of other coins history trend. Sure there are people day trading to get profit which will give its influence and sure there are people who already made unbelievable profits and want to cash out some percentage. The truth of the matter is that the people who has been around believed in this coin for the long run and this puny rise that you call a pump is nothing we even consider cashing out on (even if it is hella' tempting).
You call this a pump when it is just a preparation of a pre-prerelease. Consider what will happen when RC2 is out and then when Darksend is live and opensourced. Hail DRK mother of x11.
We also know that the longer we hold the higher the value and as long we keep these mental price range a reality, it will surely get there. In addition, this small sell offs even benefits the future of Darkcoin.
But be wary thinking you can get in cheaper.
The Darksend feature is not "stable" yet which means the bigger money operations is not yet here. What will happen then? Do I really need to spell it out for you?
Before you count your millions, try to remember this doesn't even have an android wallet yet ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) It is a matter of time though ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I wouldn't expect this to keep going up, especially if people continue to ignore that bounty list I tried re-posting earlier. If this thread just becomes another get rich quick scheme like Blackcoin this is just going to crash and burn before anything can come out of it. Some of the translation bounties are waiting for a final version of the website. Can't do anything until then.

Wuzamarine. I think everyone's wallet works except yours. Save your wallet.dat out again on a usb drive and verify that you saved it out and then really delete everything. Then reboot your machine. Then download the latest qt file and run it. Then close it. Then copy your USB wallet.dat file on top of the new, empty one in the roaming folder. Then run it again and wait and see if it fully syncs.
If this is bad advice then someone please post because I am far from a bitcoin wallet expert and I make no claims I know what the heck I am talking about.
I even starte darkcoin as admin, creating a full new profile and a new wallet, freezes at the exact same place. Same freeze, same block, new computer, new OS, new wallet. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FT77OhnG.png&t=663&c=cqLxoIFPD4h-yA) Remove everything except the wallet.dat file - open up a new downloaded wallet, worked for me on another x11 coin at least. Been done no less than 1000 times. I used a new PC on a brand new OS for crying out loud. Are you using the latest RC1 version? I'm not sure if that's a requirement?

Dang it, I can't log into Cryptsy, there is a warning on the login page that says "A security error has occurred"
Anyone experience this before?
|
|
|
Am I the only person having trouble with Cryptsy? Can't log in for an hour, and now it won't show my open order? I don't think I'll ever see my dark again ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) What an idiot I am, LOL. I never saw today coming! For 3 months, the same pattern, today, it breaks away, UGH!

"ASICs strengthen the network," my tight muscular buttocks. Bloody carrier pigeons and smoke signals would be quicker then BTC and LTC.
Asics do nothing for network speed or security. If anything they hurt security by reducing the number of miners and concentrating hashing power into the hands of a few. Well, but I think you can arguably say that the difficulty has gotten so that the rewards are too small to attract miners. Yet the asics bring miners back. Of course, it just starts another round of difficulty rising, but... I dunno, it's an argument anyway, LOL

I also want to run a masternode. I have ~600 DRK right now and willing to buy the other 400 I need but I don't even have a PC at home! I work in IT so I am fairly confident I could handle it but don't know if I want to go pick up a machine right now!?
Use an amazon ec2 tiny. Seriously. Free, except extra internet traffic that you have to pay minimum for, for a year, unless you used up your "voucher". (no voucher, just once per account)

My mind is full blown at people selling for 5btcs worth.
You could have masternodes making you 3-4btcs worth PER MONTH in the near future.
Jimmies are rustled fellas. Hold me
Hey guys I have 200 darkcoins and a shitload of blackcoins, I am thinking about buying 1800 more darkcoins and setting up 2 masternodes The problem is I have no idea what it is, how to do it, or how much dark i can get a day from them If someone can hyelp me out with this I will dump 20k blackcoins RIGHT NOW for darkcoins =) You can do it, it's not the easiest thing in the world, and there is risk, but it's not impossible. There is a tutorial under the newb section at darkcointalk.org, in the tutorials. I suggest you do it, though I have no idea how much actual coin will be earned in the future. At least get darkcoin, it's by far the best coin out there, imho. Having said that, I stupidly sold 40 coins last night, I thought if it went up to .0024, it would surely drop again at noon my time, and I might make a few extra coin, LOL. As usual, I had bad instincts. I'll be lucky not to loose more than 5 coin, or so, LOL

I think as we are getting closer and closer to the release of darksend, people are realizing that it is not just some pipe-dream, Evan is going to deliver a quality finished product that the darknet community everyone will actually use.
FTFY ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) I'm hardly a "darknet" kind of person, but I am a private person. I don't see myself using Bitcoin to actually purchase anything (other than more dark, LOL) simply because I now know how open the block chain is. I will use DRK though. Can't wait until Overstock accepts DRK, but I guess that means we have to get it on Coinbase first!

DarkSend is just a little checkbox on the right side of the wallet under the send tab. It requires the use of the beta wallet. We now are on RC1 and in case that's not the version you have, you can get it here: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darksend-rc1-official-release.274/page-2Open the link to a PDF file, then download from the links at the bottom of the last page ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

My Darkcoin.conf file is missing...how can I create a new one in the Appdata/Roaming/Darkcoin folder? Which lines should be included?
Just open a text file, like notepad, put the following in it: listen=1 maxconnections=80 gen=1 genproclimit=-1 rpcuser=yourname? rpcpassword=crazylongpasswordwithASD123$%^ rpcport=anyport, only used for solo mining, don't need this server=1 daemon=1 addnode=54.80.16.112 addnode=23.23.186.131 There are other addnodes you can put in, people list them all over this thread ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Then save as choose other (not text) and name it darkcoin.conf then save ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Can anyone explain Dark Wallet to me? Their information is so vague, and the colored coins thing totally confuses me??

Well, the Chinese government has forbidden exchanges in fiat, so that disrupted everything.
No, it just forced all Chinese banks to close accounts that are used to operate virtual currency websites. It also banned them from processing payments in BTC back in December. Oh yes, there is a difference, you are quite right ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

why the price go up so fast,is there somethings good news released?
Well, we just had release candidate #1, and a press release along with what sounds like RC2 in the next few days which will begin the payments to the masternodes. People may be stocking up on coins to build masternodes?

buysell wall
Ah, I see ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Sell walls aren't quite as effective, LOL ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

If it hooks up with a browser, can we compile it? Will it be open source? You know, I have tried to get information on this, but it's hard. Everything out there is so vague. Something tells me ... well I won't say it, I'll wait and see. Funny, how many developers have they had on this since September 2013? And we basically have Evan and Kyle, LOL.

I don't see the buy wall, that's why I asked?

buy wall at 26 after that were clear to 30!
Sorry, I don't understand?

Think your commercial OSes don't have backdoors? Where do those automatic updates come from? It's already done with PCI compliance in eCommerce. PCI has barely anything to do with data security.
With people so lazy and entertained, begging for government to run every aspect of their lives, it's only a few years away that it will be a felony to own a computer that isn't government controlled.
You're absolutely right. The only way they can control it is by going way too far, and they damn well will. Especially with over 95% of the planet's population begging for it.
You're right, I'm an eternal optimist. I should know better, people are lazy and don't want to think and want to be cared for. It's sad, but oh so true, as these past 6 years have shown us ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) And the government will undoubtedly spend billions of our dollars chasing it's tail.

Well there is the start of our improved ebay! Just add bidding! I hope we can use it for legit purposes! That is, non illegal things. I've got stuff I would love to sell, but ebay and paypal are too expensive to use.
