Hey guys
I have 200 darkcoins and a shitload of blackcoins, I am thinking about buying 1800 more darkcoins and setting up 2 masternodes
The problem is I have no idea what it is, how to do it, or how much dark i can get a day from them
If someone can hyelp me out with this I will dump 20k blackcoins RIGHT NOW for darkcoins =)
I've asked this same question already but nobody seemed to bother answering. How does one create a masternode? I realize that one needs to have 1000 DRK.

I think as we are getting closer and closer to the release of darksend, people are realizing that it is not just some pipe-dream, Evan is going to deliver a quality finished product that the darknet community everyone will actually use.
FTFY I'm hardly a "darknet" kind of person, but I am a private person. I don't see myself using Bitcoin to actually purchase anything (other than more dark, LOL) simply because I now know how open the block chain is. I will use DRK though. Can't wait until Overstock accepts DRK, but I guess that means we have to get it on Coinbase first!

My mind is full blown at people selling for 5btcs worth.
You could have masternodes making you 3-4btcs worth PER MONTH in the near future.

I also want to run a masternode. I have ~600 DRK right now and willing to buy the other 400 I need but I don't even have a PC at home! I work in IT so I am fairly confident I could handle it but don't know if I want to go pick up a machine right now!?
Edit: Also just cancelled my 0.05 sell order as I think we will be beyond that after Darksend is fully released and verified.

There is a tutorial under the newb section at darkcointalk.org, in the tutorials. I suggest you do it, though I have no idea how much actual coin will be earned in the future. At least get darkcoin, it's by far the best coin out there, imho. Having said that, I stupidly sold 40 coins last night, I thought if it went up to .0024, it would surely drop again at noon my time, and I might make a few extra coin, LOL. As usual, I had bad instincts. I'll be lucky not to loose more than 5 coin, or so, LOL

You can do it on an amazon server. - see Chaeplin's guide http://www.reddit.com/r/DRKCoin/wiki/index#wiki_setting_up_a_masternode

Use an amazon ec2 tiny. Seriously. Free, except extra internet traffic that you have to pay minimum for, for a year, unless you used up your "voucher". (no voucher, just once per account)

I've asked this same question already but nobody seemed to bother answering. How does one create a masternode? I realize that one needs to have 1000 DRK. Here guys, I will help. First read the official masternode requirements from the developer: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-update-masternode-requirements-masternode-payments.225/After reading that, you can see that there are many setups you can use, here is a guide on how to do it with Amazon by a prominent member of our community chaeplin: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/how-to-set-up-ec2-t1-micro-ubuntu-for-masternode-part-1-3.240/I am not a high level IT person but I have someone working on some masternodes for me using Chaeplins guide. Please let me know if this helps

Asics do nothing for network speed or security. If anything they hurt security by reducing the number of miners and concentrating hashing power into the hands of a few.

Well, but I think you can arguably say that the difficulty has gotten so that the rewards are too small to attract miners. Yet the asics bring miners back. Of course, it just starts another round of difficulty rising, but... I dunno, it's an argument anyway, LOL

I think there is an advantage to a coin being slightly unprofitable to mine. You mine it if you believe in it. Or don't want to/can't buy it. But you don't mine it to dump to BTC. On a side note.. is it possible to make a coin p2pool only? That way all miners support the network.

Good man! This is the screenshot from my Blogger stats on google searches. I have gotten 1k + impression on the "darkcoin" in the past few days. Looks like there is a lot of interest in Darkcoin. I am not even ranking on the first page. I can only imagine how many impressions the other sites are getting. I wrote this article a while back. I will prob have to write a new one with all the recent updates that have happened. http://razorsforex.blogspot.com/2014/02/darkcoin-anonymous-cryptocurrency.htmlWould appreciate a few re-tweets and google +.
