I believe that everyone is aware of the risks of joining these lending platforms, but because they are so greedy, they ignore everything and when they know they have been scammed, blame others. If they are not greedy, no one can scam them, if you believe centralized exchanges are scamming you, then you just need to avoid them.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it advisable to memorize seed phrase? on: January 06, 2023, 04:10:19 PM
I read that one of the best ways to preserve a seed phrase is to write it on a piece of paper and keep it in a safe place... Somewhere safe could be in your home out of the reach of family members and friends, it could also be a safe deposit box. But not everyone are financially buoyant to afford the services of a deposit box.

I believe we must have seen or heard about fire outbreaks, where buildings are completely erased by fire. Imagine if the owner or occupant of such a building has some Bitcoin assets, and has his/her phone, tablet, laptop and the seed phrase piece of paper in the building and everything was lost to fire. Now, this brings me to the question... Can seed phrase be memorized? It's advisable to memorize seed phrase?

No, it's a bad idea because, over time, our memory will forget some things, and if you accidentally forget your seed phrase, you will lose all your bitcoins forever. If you are afraid that writing on paper may burn in fire, you can copy us into different copies and for convenience use a USB and store them, and keep them with you or somewhere only you know. With 4 copies, 3 paper copies, and 1 USB I think it will be safe.

Dana White just wanted to fill that 3 week pause between events, so he decided to do a main event in the club lol Cheesy

Or this could be a nice promo of White's new show - Power Slap. More info here. New show is planned to start at January 11, so Dana and Fertitas bros are on a promotion tour right now Cheesy

What do you think about this show? "Regulated and sanctioned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission" - show looks serious. I know that on Russian YouTube such slap shows have been popular for years, first appeared in 2020, and I saw on TV similar shows in UK. This is a first of such kind in the US with such a high promotion level. Gonna be cool, and dangerous. As you basically get a hard hit on a face and you arent allowed to defence. Could lose hearing easily.

I don’t know what is going to happen for sure. But the United States of America does not take these types of things lightly. And I am also sure that a lot of feminists are already pretty furious about this. And I think this is going to be very popular as well. Because right now I don’t see any kind of issue which can divert the attention. And there should be some serious problems for Dana White. Unless he can use a huge amount of money to cover it up.

Does anyone remember the great tennis star - Martina Navratilova - she has announced she has cancer and she is going to battle the cancer with all she has. . she has also battled breast cancer in 2010.  ...won 59 grand slam titles across single double and mix double
That is really sad. Cancer is an ulcer of our humanity and I hope it will be cured.
Martina Navratilova and the following generation around Steffi Graf and Boris Becker have shaped a whole generation. I still remember the final in the French Open in 1987 when Steffi Graf beat Martina Navratilova at the age of 17.

This is truly fortunate news I believe that she was diagnosed at a quite early age of her cancer. I think the treatment of the proper kind is going to be able to cure her. But the problem is, she’s going to face a lot of difficulties going forward. After all, it is cancer. And it is going to leave a mark on her body. And another thing is it will probably take a little time to cure, but I believe it is still a very early stage of cancer. So it is curable by proper treatment.

tsg hoffenheim has loaned striker Kasper Dolberg from french ligue 1 club ogc nice until the end of the season. the 25-yo dane was most recently on loan at fc sevilla. the loan contract will now be rewritten to the german bundesliga club. his contract at nice runs until 2024, but tsg has secured an option to buy

I think this was a good deal and if he can perform well, they should actually utilize the buying option and get him on the team. I certainly like this deal with the option to buy him as well. But the player has been changing teams quite frequently right now and I hope he will be able to confirm later in his current team where he is going.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 02, 2023, 01:06:39 PM
I think Brentford vs Liverpool will be a very good game today. But we will have to wait for some time to see this game. After some time the game will start. I think Liverpool will score 2 goals in this game.  There will be victory in the match. Liverpool is a very strong team from Brentford. I will support Liverpool in this game. Liverpool team has many good quality players.
Both team play a 3-3 draw last season in a cracking encounter, thus I am expecting a similar match today between the two teams which has to be very competitive match, though it has not been confirm if Brentford striker Toney will be sidelined today having been stretched off in their last match his presence will be a serious threat to Liverpool defence, I don't think Liverpool will this match my own prediction is likely another draw match  because Brentford is now on a five unbeaten matches in the league and if they can't defeat Liverpool today they will fight for a draw.

This Liverpool versus Brentford match will be a cracker one. Liverpool has not been playing up to my expectations this season as they are currently sixth in the league And Brentford are positioned in the 10th place. Last season they had a game of six goals and I also expect a high-scoring game this season as well. My prediction is that Liverpool score 3 goals and Branford will score one or two at the most.

26th Match Big Bash today match between Hobart Hurricanes vs Adelaide is not clear which team will win the game. Adelaide Strikers are batting now. Scored 74 runs in 10 overs and lost 1 wicket. Adelaide Strikers batsman Matthew Short is in this match. Durdanta opened the game and scored 37 runs off 24 balls.
Hobart Hurricanes is in a reliable place in this match. Hobart Hurricanes will have an easy win in this match if no mishaps happen. Hobart Hurricanes managed to score 127 in 12 overs against Adelaide Strikers target of 177 runs. Now Hobart Hurricanes need 50 runs in 46 balls to win. Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott's aggressive batting Hobart Hurricanes manage to reduce the set run distance in few overs, so it is expected that Hobart Hurricanes will win this match.

Hobart Hurricanes vs Adelaide Strikers is already finished. Adelaide Strikers actually put on a good total in my opinion. 177 is not a bad total. But the problem is the way these teams be picking up runs in this tournament, it is very hard to defend a total like that. We can already see how easily Hobart Hurricanes already won the match with 16 balls left and seven wickets in hand. This is turning out to be a very high-scoring tournament.
448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto (btc) is not for the weak on: January 01, 2023, 12:49:31 AM
Crypto currency as a whole despite its advantages can be very risky. It appear to me as a battlefield where only the strong can survive and weak ones will eventually give up.

Cryptocurrency is a battleground, the market is a battleground where there will be winners and losers because it is not creating money to distribute to everyone, but people are taking each other's money. Whoever is smart and strong will win, this is a game. So I find it funny that people keep blaming the project developers when they lose, but if the developers don't cheat on them then I can assure you that, when the token price goes up, you will also be dumping causing the project to crash and the developers to lose. Instead of waiting for you to dump, they will let the project fall apart. It's a game, whoever is faster wins.
449  Other / Archival / Re: Long-term Bitcoin accumulation continues on: January 01, 2023, 12:33:43 AM
It is also worth noting that there is less and less real bitcoin on the exchanges, the constant withdrawal of bitcoin from the exchanges has led to the fact that 88% of all bitcoins are not currently on the exchanges. Apparently, people have finally begun to understand that digital gold should only be stored on wallets for which you have a private key. And the exchanges themselves are not credible now, each exchange can now be the next FTX. Keeping your valuable bitcoins there, to put it mildly, is not reasonable.
As you already mentioned in the post, this year is not for people who hold for short term and trade constantly. Pretty much everyone is in a holding situation this year. People now understand and learn how to hold their own assets in their wallets with a private, which also applies to me.

After so much drama with FTX no one wants to risk their bitcoin. A well written post on the last day of the year.

Happy new year!

This is true, data shows bitcoin on exchanges is at a record low. But this will only be temporary when the bear season ends and the bull season comes. People will massively send money to centralized exchanges because there is nowhere to sell and trade bitcoins other than centralized exchanges. If people get scared and learn their lessons, people won't use CEX since the mt.gox crash because, in my opinion, Mtgox is much bigger than the FTX crash. We're in the bear season, and people are holding assets, so it's not uncommon for people to withdraw to non-custodial wallets for holding.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is fiat to Bitcoin? on: January 01, 2023, 12:23:35 AM
Even in countries that have accepted bitcoin, I believe it will be extremely difficult to use bitcoin. Simply if you bought bitcoins for $50k and now each bitcoin costs $16k, are you willing to use your bitcoins as a means of paying for goods? That's a huge loss. Fiat is still very important to bitcoin, there is no asset class that does not depend on fiat, and even gold is still measured in fiat.
if the transaction only uses Bitcoin. the calculation used will not be like that. all of them are difficult to implement because the yardstick is fiat. and also there is still the use of fiat.
just try it when all is measured by Bitcoin. all providers of goods and services use Bitcoin, I'm sure there will be no trade-offs like you talk about.

We are talking facts, not if. Because bitcoin will never be accepted as a world currency. And once assuming bitcoin is accepted as the world currency to replace fiat, then not only bitcoin but any accepted asset can fulfill the obligation of fiat, even if it is dogecoin. Bitcoin is only suitable for investment, it is not suitable as a currency because of its volatility. No currency is as volatile as bitcoin, and no one is brave enough to use a volatile asset to turn it into a currency.
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 31, 2022, 12:26:22 PM
Saud 55 runs on 108 balls and Wasim 43 runs saves the match for Pakistan. Sarfraz also did some resistance and scored 53 runs. Pakistan batting is not the problem, the problem is there main pacers are injured like Afridi, Naseem and Haris. In the absence of top fast bowlers Abrar has done a good job by picking 23 wickets in his 6 innings. The next match is also in karachi and Pakistan will be happy that they draw the game.

Yes.. the New Zealand bowlers were unable to break the 8th wicket partnership between Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Wasim. These two added 71 runs for Pakistan, and more importantly survived for 18.3 overs until Mohammad Wasim got out to the bowling of Ish Sodhi. Even after Wasim got out, Saud Shakeel and Mir Hamza resisted the Kiwi bowling for another 13.3 overs and this sealed the fate of the test match. I had a feeling that the New Zealand captain could have given a few spells to the two pacers - Tim Southee and Neil Wagner, as the spinners were being schooled by the Pak batsmen.

Actually, I thought that Pakistani tailenders were showing how to back to the top-order batsman of Pakistan. I thought Pakistan should have done well as a team. But in the end, Pakistan is going to be very happy to even drop the test match. Because at one point it feels like they are going to lose for sure. if there was a little more time in the test match left, I’m sure New Zealand could have won it. The outcome of several test matches from Pakistan has not been well or satisfactory to say at least.
452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is fiat to Bitcoin? on: December 31, 2022, 09:58:00 AM
can Bitcoin be easily used and spent without Fiat?
My answer is No

What's your opinion?
Let's discuss

It's true that bitcoins are not ready to be the main form payment yet. In many cases we still need the exchange of Bitcoins into fiat before we can use them. There are only a few countries that have accepted bitcoin as a legal tender yet. And as long as most countries will hold on to their fiat money nothing is going to change. I receive my salary in Euros, all my monthly expenses I have to pay in Euros, taxes are also required to be paid Euros. If I would like to switch to a crypto currency only life it wouldn't really be working. There still needs to be exchanges between fiat and crypto on a regular basis. Maybe once more countries accept bitcoins as a legal tender this is going to be different. One positive note is that many online stores today are accepting bitcoin as a form of payment.

453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have 1 bitcoin? on: December 31, 2022, 09:46:48 AM
Hello friends
Do you currently have at least 1 bitcoin?
Many people sold their bitcoins after quite a big drop, but i am sure there are people who still hodl a large amount of bitcoins
And i always wonder what motivates those people
Faith, hope, unemotional analytics or the ability to see the future? Cheesy
Please, answer only those who really own at least 1 bitcoin
Thank you

I don't have a full 1 bitcoin yet, but I never sold it even a bit during this bear market. I'm trying to accumulate more while it's cheap and my goal is to make 1 bitcoin before bitcoin goes up again on the next halving. I am working non-stop to accumulate bitcoins. I think if we miss this opportunity, we will have to wait 4 to 5 years before we can see a new opportunity.
454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is left of Bitcoin as a tool to free the financial world on: December 31, 2022, 09:45:56 AM
Bitcoin price is still the most interesting thing, I don't believe people will continue to pay attention to bitcoin if bitcoin is no longer highly valuable.
Try to ask yourself what is the purpose of your participation in the market?, if it is for profit, so are others. Don't expect that bitcoin's technology is its highlight. People today are quite pragmatic and consider money a priority, anything great without value is useless.
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An BTC Assumption on: December 30, 2022, 04:10:23 PM
We don't know everything, right? There is always something, knowledge, or hacks in life that you don't know about.
Let's say you wake up in the morning only to find out your wallet has been emptied. Your savings are all gone.
But you were following all the security practices you can possibly can, like generate everything offline, good entropy, not using brain wallet and so on and so forth.
But your funds are gone.
What will you do with it?

Once your crypto assets, specifically bitcoins, have been stolen by hackers, there is no way to get them back, and nothing can be done but regret. Cryptocurrency investment is a risk, if you leave it on the floor, you will be afraid of the floor collapsing, if you leave it in a non-custod wallet, you will be attacked by hackers if you are not careful, there is always a risk. So only invest what you can afford to lose.
456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: December 30, 2022, 04:05:31 PM
I'd just wait until the price back to normal again. Have been witnessing some of the crash of Bitcoin's price in 2018-2019 and it takes lot of patience to actually wait for more than a year for some people with lot of doubts to actually sell and stuff. But the price went back again in 2020 so just wait if you have patience to do so and buy more if you have affordable money, the price will be back again.

Instead of waiting for the price to return to normal, I think if bitcoin drops to $1k it's an opportunity for us to risk a little bit and buy bitcoin at that price. If unfortunately, bitcoin dies and falls to zero, then we will lose a bit, but if bitcoin after falling to 1k$ and then rises again and reach 100k, we will become rich. But that's just an assumption, as bitcoin's drop to $1k is said never to happen.
457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Bitcoin before the banks and governments do on: December 29, 2022, 05:38:32 PM
I think governments would buy Bitcoin for the same reasons they hoard gold. While they cannot control the network, they can manipulate the price if they buy massive amounts of Bitcoin and then sell it. While those of us who HODL and believe in Bitcoin as a means of freedom will be undeterred, it can cause panic and make a CBDC look appealing to those who don’t understand what Bitcoin really is.

If Government would by btc they would have done so long ago, not now that the price is high (even though money is not an issue in their case) their action will only inflate the price, what will they gain by increasing the price only to manipulate it?
Between if you are referring to government in the whole world, don't forget btc only has 21 million and not all in circulation yet, and imagine government from all over the world decide to buy btc!  Shocked

Don't know about the governments but institutions and big investors/whales are already accumulating bitcoins. Most of these investors will not declare that they have bitcoins in their portfolio. Who knows governments of countries like China, who publicly discourage the use of bitcoin, may be accumulating bitcoins too.

For people like us, low prices like 16,000$ or 17,000$ is a good price to buy bitcoins. We do not know the exact bottom of this bear market, but we should keep on doing the dollar cost average and keep investing in this phase.

I believe governments are still quietly buying bitcoin, they just can't make it public, and with governments managing a centralized monetary system, they can't openly support a decentralized currency like bitcoin. But given what bitcoin will bring to the future, they've certainly seen it and they won't want to overlook it. I believe governments have been quietly accumulating bitcoin just like other valuable assets.
458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We have been told: Invest only Extra money in bitcoin on: December 29, 2022, 05:28:13 PM
If it's money that can't be lost, then I definitely won't use it to invest in bitcoin, it's too risky not only for me but also for my loved ones. Bitcoin is a good investment that can be profitable but it also has risks so I always stand my ground, only invest with money that can be lost and when I run out of money, I choose to ignore it.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 27, 2022, 05:46:54 PM
20–30 years is a big joke, mate. As seasons come and go clubs make changes in both their coach and players so if Milan don't go far this season , next season might see a new shape. Al though the last time the CL cup went to Seria A was in 2010, but that doesn't mean Inter Milan can't do it again in 2023. The World Cup break was enough for all qualified Clubs to make corrections to the mistakes they encountered in the CL group stage. I hope to see an interesting CL with more suspense and less accurate predictions.
I expect Napoli, Inter and Milan this season to really show their best in the Champions League. These three teams have a good chance considering that their opponents are also not that strong. Frankfurt, Porto and Tottenham are not very strong teams, but they can also go far in the Champions League this season instead of falling short in the last 16.

In Serie A, the competition between Inter, Napoli and Milan is always expected to be tighter. Napoli lead the standings, but they must not be too arrogant to declare themselves unbeaten. Milan must have hopes and opportunities to make Napoli fail in the end.

If Napoli maintains their consistency, they will undoubtedly be champion. Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Juventus are far behind. Inter Milan is 11 points behind Napoli. I don't think the Inter Milan team is fighting for the title this season. I think this season the Inter Milan management will only want to secure qualification for the Champions League. They are not fighting for the title this season. AC Milan and Juventus are the most likely to win the title even if Napoli loses track.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 27, 2022, 05:42:43 PM
what a victory yesterday for Arsenal I had overestimated Arsenal's victory against West Ham, 3:1, yesterday. I so much admire Saka and his dedication to winning and playing, even during the World Cup, saka played very well and still scored the opening goal yesterday. Arsenal having 16 goal attempts was putting a lot of pressure on west ham which resulted in goals. West Ham having two yellow cards is just a sign of a desire to win. And today is for Chelsea let's see the outcome of their match.
It was an impressive start for Arsenal after the World Cup break. I was expecting their win but still thinking about West Ham's chances. Actually, West Ham had overwhelmed Arsenal in the first half, but Arsenal changed everything in the second half. It took Arsenal quite some time before Saka, Martinelli and Nketiah managed to make it 3-1 between the 53rd and 70th minutes.
So if I previously had my doubts about Arsenal in that match, then I definitely have to change my assumptions about them as soon as possible. In fact I am increasingly convinced they will win the title this season, but after all Manchester City and other teams still have a chance in hand.

Arsenal performed well against West Ham. Many speculated that Arsenal would not be able to maintain their consistency after the long break. They will lose the truck. We don't get good performances from Arsenal even in friendly matches. They also lost 2-0 against Juventus. But Arsenal players did not make any mistakes against West Ham. They played very well and won the match. It seems that Arsenal players are still very confident. And they are determined to champion this season.
