441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Simple mistake that makes you lose everything on: March 08, 2024, 10:50:34 AM
I might not have made the mistake you just shared but I think every gambler gave his way of losing owing to simple mistakes that usually become clear when the event have been settled. Personally, I have had countless number of losses that are dependent of mistakes. For instance, there have been days I lose simply I want to get x5 when my favourite could only offer x2.

There was a time I played sports betting and had the bet spoilt by over0.5 goal with an odd of 1.05 even when my mind was telling me to remove that particular event from my slip. I think that mistake is normal and what makes gambling what it is.
It should be known that if there are no mistakes in gambling we wouldn't be experiencing losses with our bets, when a prediction is not correct or done in the right direction to the outcome of the event it still could be referred to as a mistake.

Look at it this way, when there are no mistakes in our predictions we eventually get a winning of our stake due to the absence of a mistake in the prediction. Just like you, I have also had multiple experiences where I  don't feel satisfied with the total odds and decides to add more odds to increase it, at the end of the games the extra added odds turned out to be the bad eggs that killed my whole bet. In all I have learnt that avoiding the feeling of a lack of satisfaction with size of odds could increase the number of times we get winnings therefore reducing "losing mistakes".
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: March 07, 2024, 06:09:42 AM
The second leg should certainly be more profitable for Atalanta after they only drew 1-1 in the first leg. Atalanta will have home advantage in the second leg which will likely increase their chances of winning compared to the first leg. But it is still very possible for Sporting to progress to the next round if Atalanta fails to play well at home because both are equally likely after only drawing in the first leg.
Surely, especially if their mentality is really good during the home match, they will definitely be much more willing to play the match optimally. Here alone, Atalanta were actually quite dominating the match, but unfortunately, their attacks were not strong enough to penetrate Sporting's goal. Sprouting is also quite strong, apparently his back line. Moreover, it was Sporting who scored the first goal, so this still disturbed Atalanta's focus. Atalanta's game should be optimized when competing at home in the second leg. They must have a goal lead, at least 1 goal. Even if it's a draw, in my opinion, Atalanta will win the match when it needs a penalty shootout.
It is with no lack of conviction on my side that Atlanta are going to win this game tonight against Sporting. If you ask me, Atlanta has been one of the best performing team's in this season's Europa league right from the group stage they have always manage to earn a great result to their favour . And just like every other teams with the tactics of finding at least a draw game in an away match Atlanta was able to achieve that with a 1-1 draw when they visited Sporting in Portugal, so playing at home today I believe their energy will be spurred high to making sure they bring smiles to the faces of their fans at home using a home advantage technique to steal the points at the end. My guts tells me it's a 1:0 score in favour of Atlanta.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Monte Carlo fallacy on: March 07, 2024, 05:49:33 AM
If this pattern of thinking was to be true which obviously it's not because just as the name implies 'lallacy', but let assume it was to be a truism of a method that works at all many a gambler would have been making large some of profits from it closing down casinos and other gambling outlets.

Take the dice game from the op for instance, in an independent event like a dice game the actuality of the number 6 to be actualized just because lower numbers has been appearing frequently for the past games is not just guaranteed and Vis-a-vis the other way too. Just maybe the 6 number appeared it should be regarded as luck and nothing less of a pattern or a speculative strategy because it's all but fallacy for an independent event except otherwise.
444  Economy / Economics / Re: Our decision making is responsible for the outcomes in our ways on: March 07, 2024, 05:34:34 AM

A friend of mine goes wild at me whenever I talk to him about his reckless spendings, he ask me what would be  accounted of his money if not enjoyments?
This is a kind of guy that feels relaxed when he has an attractive amount of money in his bank account and then feels he is only supposed to go after making more money only when he is running out from the one already accumulated and spent.
The money we strive for when made it's actually meant to be enjoyed but even as that it should be spent prudently and in a manner frugal enough to show we have value for our money and not to be spent extravagantly on luxuries. It is in the attitude of people that lacks the value for money to spend it anyhow immediately it enters their purse only to come to a realization when it's getting to the bottom.

Op, if am to advise you I'll say you just ignore him right away, at least you have played the role of a good friend by scolding him about his money spending attitude and since his reaction is usually attacking to you about your advise then you should mind your business and go your way mind your own business. It is his money you can't decide for him how to spend it but can only advise so no need of getting angry he didn't accept your advise.

However, if he squanders while you build with yours and tomorrow comes that he comes to your for financial help I'll say ignore his plea for help so he can deeply feel the consequences of his actions, that next time you or anyone else renders him a free financial advise he won't hesitate to hold it to mind and make the best use of it for the future.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indirect victims of gambling addiction on: March 07, 2024, 05:15:03 AM
Of course, there are many indirect victims of gambling addiction. Can you add more?
Employers can also be indirect victims of the problems that a gambling addict brings. I remember a long time ago when I once had a gambling addict working for me who I felt I could control, and then I gave him money to go get materials for work for me but he ended up using up all the money for gambling, playing virtual games and squandering it all. I was a victim to his gambling addiction as his employer, because it forced me to spend my personal money to get the materials required for delivery of the customers job. Indirectly as the employer of an addict, I became a victim.
A similar situation happened to a bet company agent who owned a bet shop, although I didn't knew him directly but overhead him while he was making a complain to a friend of his about one of the boys he employed as cashier to work for him, how the cashier has at different time's used the money in one of the computers he is in charge of to play virtual games for himself and due to this he loses money that's above his pay cheque before the end of the month. And the young man was complaining of how the employees'  attitude has affected his usual monthly profit from the business and has therefore decided to sack him in order to save his business.

Something about gambling addicts, they are never to be trusted with access to money, it doesn't matter how big or little the amount of the money could be they just don't think about the impending consequences should they lose that money, all their focus is just to satisfy their urge and it's others that later suffer the negative impact of their actions.

Lost of funds through the hacking of one's wallet or the exchange used in hodling our bitcoin. Also, criminal are using bitcoin for the wrong purpose therefore giving it a negative outlook to society since it can't be regulated or controlled by the government in catching these criminals easily as would if it were fiat. i think these are some of the implications of the use of bitcoin I can think of as regarding against ethical usage.
447  Economy / Speculation / Re: A whale took profits for the first time since 2010 sold 1000 Bitcoins on: March 06, 2024, 09:06:31 PM
Can those of us today also hold this long? It's a rhetorical question I leave for a lot of us today to ponder on. For 14 years holding isn't 14days or weeks. There must have been many like him who bought bitcoin same year 2010 like this whale we are discussing of today but they couldn't hold this far.

To get the greater profits from bitcoin has so much to do with how long we choose to hold it, the longer we hold the more profit that accrue. If my calculations are correct this whale holdings has seen about 4 consecutive bull run circle's but a lot of us can't even hold for a single season. Taking profit is part of bitcoin investment and I think that what the whale has just did.

Finally Bayern Munich was able to counterattack in the second leg of today's match, they knocked out Lazio with a quite impressive score, namely 3 goals without reply, as I said before, I am sure that Bayern Munich can definitely qualify for the next round, beating Lazio by creating an aggregate more than 2 goals and it turns out that Bayern Munich is doing well at home. Bayern Munich actually took the lead in the first half through a goal scored by Harry Kane in the 38th minute, followed by Thomas Muller in the final minutes of the first half and Lazio was completely unable to do anything, but in the second half, Bayern Munich increased their total goals again so that his victory was even more convincing.

Harry Kane played impressively as usual even though sometimes he lately up not performing optimally in scoring goals when Bayern Munich needs him, but this time Harry Kane really did his best and he scored another goal for Bayern Munich's winner, so Bayern Munich could progress to the quarter-finals.
I can't wait who will be Bayern Munich's tough opponent in the quarter-finals, but hopefully Bayern Munich doesn't meet Manchester City or Real Madrid in that round because Bayern Munich could be eliminated in that round because if look at their performance, Bayern Munich is still below them.

I'm really interested in knowing what tuchel's suggestions to his club on achieving success against lazio. I know that Bayern's performance has gotten way worse since last season, when it was just terrible. When the club couldn't do even better in the bundesliga.
But man, Lazio's game was just not good at all. They couldn't compete with Bayern. Bayern was too good in that match, which helped their performance.

The win over Lazio saved tuchel's job, glad to see bayern used different methods in that match. I hope Bayern will go all out on their opponents every game, and the players did an amazing job in that quick victory against lazio.

I think Bayern Munich should do some evaluation now that the battle must go on. They did great in their recent game, but they're gonna face a real test soon. To take on such a tough club, Bayern needs to be well-prepared.
The gameplay of bayern is not monotone in last match. The club was able exploring more chances to score with better executions.
Bayern last night had to put Lazio in their place a performance tht under normal circumstance ought not to be a surprising thing to football fans but as a result of Bayern's low performance in the last games both in the UCL and the Bundesliga now their usual performance it's now coming as though it's a surprise. Congratulations to Tuchel as he has through this result secured his position as head coach and we hope to see Bayern exercise more competitive performance in future games in the UCL especially should they meet Manchester City or Madrid, and even in the  Bundesliga.

For the match between Manchester City vs FC Copenhagen I expect a similar result in favour of Manchester City since they are playing at home they have all of the advantage on their side, and secondly Copenhagen is not a their match by analytical comparison. Nevertheless this is football anything can happen but the chances are slim.
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why not try out a less popular but promising token? on: March 06, 2024, 07:48:31 AM
The less popular they are the highly risky it makes of them. And with the invasion of the market by multiple new coins now and then especially this bull run period it makes it more difficult to get an actual unpopular coin with potential as the scam unpopular shit coins are much more saturated in the crypto market.

My guess is that 1-10 unpopular shit coins 9 don't have any potential whatsoever to pick up in price. However, as you take your step to invest in unpopular coins stick to using money you can afford to lose in investing. Cheers!
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way to store your seed phrase? on: March 06, 2024, 05:46:13 AM
The 12-24 word seed phrase etched on a steel sheet, with 2(not split up) copies, in 2 separate locations that you have easy access to, and packaged in a way where you know if someone has gained access to either of these steel sheets; plus using a secure passphrase. That should be more than enough. Less complexity, less chance of error.

Also, personally not a fan of digitization.
Just to add to what you have already said, each of the seed phrase etched on the steel should also be numbered according in it sequence order as it appeared while creating your wallet so as to avoid mix-up and the difficulty of accounting for each orderly in the future. Another importance of the numbering, peradventure, of a sudden death by accident it makes it easy for a posterity you trust the secret to to be able to identify each phrase in the number they fall without fail.

*Steel plates are durable, more like everlasting with an anti-rusting property making it to last for even a thousand years.
*The etching can't also be wiped off by fire in the case of an arson or any domestic related fire engulfing the storage location, unlike when one may use other means of storage i.e offline paper.

I have been seeing many threads littered on the LB on binance recently, and this is due to the face-off or should I refer it to as an attack from the Nigeria government against binance. But I'll suggest that hence people should fill these news under an already existing posting that bothers on the Nigeria-binance saga to avoid flooding the forum with every new binance related news on Naira and the Nigeria government.

The links below are threads on this same binance related news updates about the binance-Nigeria government saga and it will be appropriate after now any new updates be made into anyone of these thread links rather than creating more threads on similar matter.

452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Discrepancies in Casino Experiences on: March 05, 2024, 02:17:18 PM
In anything in life people will always have a different experience form the use or contact with such a thing and your experience will to an extend determination your views about it. And here with casinos, based on each user's experience we have always received different reports both positive and negative form users about same casino or bet site.

In all my time here I have made use of a few casinos and have been lucky not to have disturbing issues with any of them all even though I see some complaints about same casino from another user regarding maybe a withdrawal delay issue or kyc requirements not matching with previous, etc. I think anyone not facing one or two issues ever, should just consider self to be lucky as not all facing issues has really defaulted but just circumstances.
453  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin all time high, is it ETF effects or pre halving cycle on: March 05, 2024, 12:58:15 PM
The surge in rise of bitcoin price as we are experiencing is not basically due to the halving but ETF. No doubt there could be a 30% effect from the halving circle but an 70% is resulting from the ETF, something of a double stimulant . Before the approval, a lot of persons had always thought that the effect of the  ETF approval was going to be felt on bitcoin price  immediately it got approved but when it wasn't doing anything to the price of bitcoin as at when they had expected owing to it's approval people's expectations started lowering but as time may have it we are feeling the effect today and it's possible that an ATH might be met before the halving as the price  momentum is already showing the signs.
454  Economy / Economics / Re: Hard times in the average Nigerian society on: March 05, 2024, 08:16:05 AM
My question now is what exactly sponsors the untold hardship in the life of an average Nigerian

Are you querying persons from outside Nigeria or that are not living in Nigeria to give you an answer for a situation they are not directly witnessing when already you know the right board to drop your query and get the most appropriate answers to your question as it affects you.

As a Nigerian living in Nigeria I don't think I can with much knowledge speak thoroughly well on issues affecting the average American, Canadian or a Swedish more better than they living in these societies. Therefore, Op if you want to get the real discuss then take it to the Nigeria (Naija) local board, as it was for discussions as this that the board was established and you of all people should know that.

It's important to note this, there's no part of the world where people are not facing hardship, the only difference is that this hardship as faced by the citizens of the different countries of the world are in levels.
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you worried about the US Government moving BTC? on: March 05, 2024, 08:00:57 AM
Similar large sales, like FTX's 1B USD worth of GBTC sale in January[4] and Genesis' current 1.3B USD worth of GBTC sale[5], haven't had a major effect on BTC price. Considering the current market excitement and the high daily trading volume of BTC, exceeding 70B USD, a 1B USD sale from the US government wouldn't be a major cause for concern.

I would like to know your views on the possibility of selling 1B USD worth of BTC from the US government:
For what it is I can say that from this part of your thread as I quoted  you have said it all. For bitcoin has saturated and penetrated the market today  beyond what it were decade ago and just the selling of 1B USD worth of bitcoin by any entity wouldn't sink bitcoin because someone else somewhere will be buying from the seller to hodl for another circle to make profit, so the price would rather keep rising with time after a little sell effect and then boom, we are back up again to another price rise.

Simply put, the seller is not selling in vacuum  which is why I or anyone should have no reason to fear. GBTC sales is a quick example. Bitcoin still doing great.

On the other hand, a sell of such amount of bitcoin by the US government is something I'll rather say we celebrate as it reduces the quantity of bitcoin in government possession to private individuals and entities thereby reduces the whale-effect manipulations of such government on bitcoin market price.

Just think about that!
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you had this gambling experience? on: March 05, 2024, 05:38:45 AM
There have been times I just out of no serious interest or enthusiasm just decide to try a few predictions on football games and due to the lack of interest in the games just decides to stake with a very low amount and boom, the games played, and you just realized the money won is nothing to be glad about.

I don't know what others might called it but when anytime this happen, I see it as luck meet and opportunity. When you have the mind to gamble but the seriousness and soul is in another dimension but you just want to play by all means, in those games you pick on regular day might be hard to predict but luckily, it happens thag way and you will win buy such luck don't have reoccurrence, even if you try next time after the first win, you might not win Anything.
Yeah' for sure it doesn't repeat itself just right away, I mean the luck to winning it again immediately just after I experience such luck it takes many games in a long time before I get to have a repetition of such experience again. But the intriguing aspect is how I don't discern the situation when it's about happening to take a much advantage of it by putting it a high stake.

Outside not having the luck repeating just immediately on your next bet using same options is actually the factor of influence bookmakers have on the odds, mostly those odds sizes that led to many winnings within the week or weekend to avoid a reoccurrence of those winnings emerging again, at least not just immediately.
457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery ticket sports bets on: March 04, 2024, 05:19:55 PM
I remembered a thread that someone won a parlay bets with huge odds, it's crazy for someone can win with such huge odds, people might call him a God because he can predict everything corrects.

Personally I don't want to bet like that, x5 to x10 odds is enough for me, the risk is still acceptable and the return is quite big.
knock it off mate! Because the person was lucky to have won such long multiple bets doesn't in anyway warrant any calling him god, I have seen people take such risk of a long bet slip of up to 35 games and still won it, they were just lucky. Tell them to redo it again and see if it's going to be a win again for them, it definitely won't be, that's why it's inappropriate to use the word god on them just because of a bet win irrespective of the number of games.

That of x5 to x10 odds is quite cool to go with as the chances of winning is multiple times higher than predicting x25 games above under the logic of not losing much with the use of 5cents. A gambler should go for a strategy that gives him high chances of winning instead of one that limits his chance of winning.

459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Have Different Perception Of Gambling Operators on: March 03, 2024, 04:37:38 AM
Cockpit gambling and lotto. Op have you thought of comparing the engulfing excitement, entertainment and fun that follows with the cockpit fights to the lotto where you just come and do your thing make your picks and go home. In cockpit you have the pleasure of watching the action between the cocks and one can easily get carried away with all of that making him to perpetually bet all his money on each loss made without realizing it till there's no money to bet still.

Moreover, when people engage in any form of gambling it should they ought to be in the knowing that it's a side ways occurrence, you either win or lose money, but the chances of losing broadly outweighs that of winning. And you can't tell me it's all the people that plays lotto that do earn a win, it's just residual on the individual to stick to gambling responsibly by knowing when to stop without being told.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you had this gambling experience? on: March 03, 2024, 04:02:10 AM

There have been times I just out of no serious interest or enthusiasm just decide to try a few predictions on football games and due to the lack of interest in the games just decides to stake with a very low amount and boom, the games played, and you just realized the money won is nothing to be glad about.

But on certain day's i take the game seriously and put my mind into it and as a result had to stake in a good tangible amount of money to have the potential money to be won big but the games don't usual play despite all of the seriousness and analysis exerted into putting up the games.

Aren't you going on betting with the wrong approach???

First, you should know that taking a bet after making a complete analysis still does not guarantee that you will win. So when the winner is not sure, we should not put a big amount of money in any bet. That is what I have learnt over time and I do tell this to everyone whom I know is involved in sports betting.

If you blindly bet on any game, it is just a matter of luck, you may win or lose based upon only luck. When you bet using your analysis, still luck plays a factor but you have more probability of winning but still, we should have some rules in gambling. For example. one must not bet beyond a certain amount in a single bet, no matter how much confidence he is on the outcome of the match.
If gambling was to be a profession for me by now I would be stare at as a veteran in the business by those just in coming  but unfortunately I don't take it to that length as I don't gamble regularly, as in, I don't do it on daily basis, and when I said I increase my stakes in those games I put so much seriousness and attention in predicting I don't mean I am staking with what I can't afford to lose out of overconfidence, I know better not to exceed my risk management staking limit not matter the source of the games. So mate we're on same page concerning responsible gambling.

Gambling is much of luck with partly an attachment of skill involved in propelling that long of yours with some advantage compared to someone with no skill knowledge about the sport basically relying only on luck. Importantly, no matter the mental efforts we direct in in predicting a game with all analysis put together, it's still advisable for us to never bet with an amount we can't afford to risk losing as we're not in control of the outcomes.
