443  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why is European Union Fundamentally doomed... on: January 09, 2015, 12:51:52 AM
European Union will fail because their citizens are over paid and over feed.

Some of the citizens are overpaid and overfed.... This is what the EU is supposed to address by the creation of "one market".

Also, see one of the things that the people of Africa can do about their conditions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=917252.0.

You think the solution to poverty is guns?  Huh

With the wreckage and few of the bodies found, at least there is closure for the families of those killed in this accident.
It is worse if nobody knows what happens to the plane.
446  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: January 06, 2015, 05:39:31 PM
Hating Islam is the wrong thing to do. Rather, we should utterly detest it.  Smiley

Political correctness is not your forte, I presume?
447  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why is Africa stuck in the stone age? on: January 06, 2015, 05:39:01 PM
This is not meant to be an offensive post, I am genuinely curious as to why Africa is so far behind the rest of the world.

The Roman Empire had running water, amenities, reliable shelter and clothing for its entire populace 2,000 years ago. 2,000 FRIGGIN YEARS AGO. They created art, sculptures, vast architecture using 2,000 YEAR OLD technology yet if you go to a random area in Africa, it is plagued by poverty, destitution and just overall squalor.

Why is Africa 2000+ years behind the rest of the world and what can be done to correct this??

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonialism

When people or historians pointed colonialism as an excuse, they should ask why the continent is so prone to colonialism and not able to defend itself. The truth is obvious for non-politically corrected historians.

It wasn't just Africa. Asia was prone to colonization as well.
They have turned out pretty okay now.

When the power to resist is ceded by the people, the power to kidnap is enhanced...

This would have been a shocker!!
“Citizens may resist unlawful arrest to the point of taking an arresting officer's life if necessary.” Plummer v. State, 136 Ind. 306. This premise was upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States in the case: John Bad Elk v. U.S., 177 U.S. 529.

I agree, it would certainly be another widely publicized national trial. As it is now the police officer should be brought up on criminal charges for assault and battery, and many other criminal charges...

“An illegal arrest is an assault and battery. The person so attempted to be restrained of his liberty has the same right to use force in defending himself as he would in repelling any other assault and battery.” (State v. Robinson, 145 ME. 77, 72 ATL. 260).

The problem is that the debate over whether an arrest is legal or illegal will take place much later. You risk getting slammed with charges of 'resisting arrest'.
449  Other / Politics & Society / Re: what things does Russian really have? on: January 05, 2015, 05:22:54 PM
Russia has muscle and is not afraid to flex it.
The muscle can't help the fall of the Ruble and the economy of Russian.
Not that easy to maintain an economy when you are being frozen out of trading with the European Union and the US. Maybe they will do what US did when their economy started to fail and invade country after country?  Shocked
Military invasions are very expensive and will not necessarily work. The fact that they are largely shut out of the global market means they will have difficulty funding and gathering the necessary resources to supply their war machine

A veto in the UN Security Council can work wonders.

A hoax... Mainstream news channels would be falling over themselves to report something like this.
451  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Negative Consequences of Net Neutrality Explained in 2 Minutes on: January 04, 2015, 02:15:06 PM
Net neutrality is a hot topic of debate not only in the US, but also in developing countries.  Smiley

Let us hope 2015 is better.

455  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Few countries on earth do lying quite like the United States." on: January 01, 2015, 02:30:22 PM

U.S. is pretty pathetic.  They're always in the spotlight too.  Just a matter of time before economic collapse and a mess in that country.

US collapse would be bad for the world as a whole as well.
A lot of countries hold US government bonds.
456  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Do ‘Progressives’ Want to Ban Uber and AirBnB? on: January 01, 2015, 02:28:06 PM
It's power to the people, and that always scares the people in power, we have and I think will always be puppets but we get opportunities to do things we've never been able to do because of technology, though the same freedom it provides the same control and limitation.

People in power are always resistant to change.
That is the sad part. They don't realize that technology is positive for the society as a whole.
457  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: January 01, 2015, 02:23:35 PM
Yes I am a muslin and I respect all other religion in the world. Islam says don't force any one to accept islam. It tells us that teech them preech them if they want to join islam they are welcomed if they don't then don't fore them to accept islam.

Isn't the death sentence in Pakistan for blasphemy a bit too much?
458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who's brave/stupid enough to invest their life savings into Bitcoin? on: December 29, 2014, 11:19:30 PM
If I will lose anyway by playing safe, why should I play safe?

That's true, I think headline inflation is massaged, and it's truly more like 5% PA, leading to losing nearly half the value of your money in 10 years, meanwhile you can get a maximum of about 2% interest in "high yield" savings accounts.
I am pretty sure both of your numbers are overstated. Inflation over the past year has been roughly 1.7% and interest rates on savings accounts tend to max out well under 1% (probably closer to .5%).

The return on things like bonds and stocks however are vastly exceeding inflation so if you invest your money in these kinds of investments (as you should if you have a long term timeframe) you will overall gain money after inflation

Maybe the numbers correspond to a region other than the United States?
459  Other / Politics & Society / Re: WTF are the politicians doing ? on: December 29, 2014, 11:17:16 PM
All you have to do is repent and you will be saved so don't act like god wants you to burn in hell. he created us with opinions and brains so we could choose are own way and so if your going to not do something as simple as asking for forgiveness ( which you don't have to read the bible to be able to) then yeah you can burn in hell then.

Are there so many believers in this forum?
Or are they just a vocal minority?
460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best Country or US State to Live off of Selling on LocalBitcoins? on: December 29, 2014, 11:12:43 PM
obviously a country with low cost of living..

third world countries are best.

after all 1 bitcoin is just a weeks salary in america but it can be a couple months salary in the more impoverished countries

Unfortuately, in third world countries, it is not easy to find buyers/sellers.
Adoption is still low.  Sad
