441  Economy / Economics / Re: The swiss are seeing the paper money fraud and are voting on gold backing on: October 29, 2014, 06:54:59 PM
On Novemeber 30, 2014, the Swiss will go to the polls to vote on a referundum “Save Our Swiss Gold” that, if approved, would require the Swiss National Bank (SNB) to hold 20% of its reserves in gold, repatriate any gold it holds outside its borders and cease selling any of its gold.

The service is bad for Litecoin, because they pay out in Bitcoin…which means they dump every single Litecoin they mine for Bitcoin, to pay their “subscribers” (because that’s what you are – you’re not mining, you’re being paid a “royalty” basically). Constant dumping of Litecoin for Bitcoin is super unhealthy.

free coins are cool!

btw, Avira is going crazy... could you fix that?
If you are about new wallet release i agree it contains something that typically behaves like virus.

Can someone please explain the benefits of moving to a Colored "Party" coin? Thanks!

A colored coin is only an IOU. In fact, you can issue IOUs using Open Transactions directly if you wanted to, without using a blockchain at all. I believe there are certain benefits, from OT's perspective, to using blockchain-based IOUs inside of OT, versus issuing the IOUs in OT directly.

I have some troubles with windows wallet (beta version)

Should I download an older version?

Do you know what triggered this error? What exactly were you doing. I know that on some machines loading coin control with an empty wallet can cause a crash.
The only time I have ever seen that error message with Qt was when I first tried setting up a Qt development environment and had installed a number of different versions of MinGW. I had this problem with qt 4.8.4 compiler and it seemed like one of my executables was finding and loading a version of mingwm10.dll that didn't agree with everything else. I hunted down and eliminated all the versions of that dll except the one that I wanted to go with mingw 4.6, then recompiled the wallet and the problem disappeared.

447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing the Crypto Vigilante Group - it's a scam. on: October 29, 2014, 04:24:41 PM

It's the same thing politicians do.

"Politicians" hype up bullshit and fail to deliver.  Sounds to me that's exactly what you had done with your "transitioning to POS" campaign you had advertised everywhere.

The time you claimed this would happen has come and after your smear campaign, you've come out to reveal that you guys have done nothing.  It's more hype, more bullshit, probably in a desperate attempt to regain the trust from those who have lost all respect for you guys as leaders.

You're a pathetic excuse for a "leader", quit telling people that you are, especially yourself.  You're a delusional hypster, plain and simple.

Don't forget that you've put your faith in criminals and shysters.

Anyone who would give these CCN guys any personal information "crypto or otherwise" would be a fool.

heed the warnings of those with personal dealings with the individuals at CCN calling themselves "Leaders", don't buy into the "hot-air" Tokyopotato posts - be skeptical; there are plenty of reasons to be.

According to me scam is start from higher officials, they give the money to to government employees and get the permission with in short time in these way they get higher profit, in these profit comes from public property finally suffering peoples, mainly it effects on high tax etc. And absolutely ALL of politicians are doing this for the fruit full money with high desire. As they try to grasp the opportunity in the activities/schemes which have to reach the common man, but it is not happening.

Because of weekly tightened governance system.

You don't to believe in the reliability of a site which is just a crypto calculator, hosted on godaddy whose merchant is not even verified

yep and atcsecure is the first who dares to drag in a legit company and pretend to be someone else. Fraud. This will backfire really hard.

It's good time to buy NHZ if price is down 40%  Cool
It's pretty clear that manipulators drag the price down and suppress the possible breakthrough as they can buy their tokens for lowered price and with 10% discount.
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: October 28, 2014, 08:05:42 PM
Well I give up. Try at least 10 times with different nodes, including from rfcdejong. Always stucks at 10xxx blocks, no matter what. It takes forever to sync from start to block 10xxx and then stop to sync.
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to keep track of investments on: October 28, 2014, 07:19:29 PM
Use Excel - there was an ability to import live stock quotes and you can track the cost basis for taxes on individual lots, used to calculate aggregate dividend income or map it out on a dividend schedule. Look at online google spreadsheet - is not powerful like an excel, but if you want to keep a close watch on your buy/sell stats, it would be better than excel as always in plain sight on the tab in your browser.
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: October 28, 2014, 03:14:39 PM
Litecoin is far from dead. It's price has been pretty stable and is still worth much more than most of the other alts.

Now coming the holidays all over the world.
By the Christmas price will be stable and i think that several online purchase sites will add paying in crypto.
So i think it will be good, and price might be going up not much but promising.

If they were going to do that they probably would've released the info already. Shops start with their Christmas mode late Oct or early Nov.

yep i agree...

I hope so last year this was i first signal for pumping up the price.
I sure hope to happen again

The price got pumped up last year because of bots and Chinese buying BTC.

The price has been pumped because of market forces in work. Yes, there are a lots who want Litecoin millionaires to be tracked down and held hostage at gunpoint for their private keys.
That way they can get rich... I mean... that way Litecoin can be adopted by the masses. Yes, LTC does not offer more functions than any other alts but for other coins, they are still too new, and too small market capitalization. When your employer pay you salary, do not want other people to associate the payment to you. BTC and LTC can have the association. For example, Fibre or even XMR does not have that, so you have more privacy.

I haven't monitoring XMG thread for some time, but the amount of reward stated in the OP = around 114K XMG, and if you look in the richlist you can find out that top 6 addresses allocate 1.1M. Does this funds assigned to the POM?
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: October 28, 2014, 02:46:00 PM
Hello. Does anyone have an explication for such an enormous price drop? The only way i can think of would be an investor's fear that 2.5K BTC ito will possibly raze xc's singularity or diminish its reputation. Seems like among all the other coins applied for participation in blocknet only xc keeps losing in its value. Just look at trex charts: blocknet has been announced 10-20.2014 and next day 10-21.2014 a huge price drop occurred 0.00103733-0.00069996.

You have discovered Hot water
Nope, i've discovered why warm water (XC) freezes faster than cooler water (Apex, SSD, NHZ and so on)
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: did you find out about nxt because of people posting threads to spread FUD? on: October 28, 2014, 02:40:07 PM
Nope via coinmarketcap lol.  I bought some to see how POS "minig" works.. alas $50 wasn't enough coins for me to mint.. so I decided F it I aint going to spend all sorts of cash to figure out the min amount.  After that I dislike pure POS coins.
"100% PoS" is already done by the hybrids, as they all have a PoW reward going towards zero. However they try to allocate the initial coins in a decentralized way and try to avoid concentrating holdings. There is nothing innovative about having a centralized allocation of initial coins.
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing 1000 dollars in... on: October 28, 2014, 02:11:29 PM
I'd say the best option, if you're OK with a possible loss, to rent some hash, point it to xhash.net, start mining new coins as soon as they launch and dump when they first go on exchange at high prices.

Another monero frontman/clone account. Yes the moderates are doing their job.

Don't you people see what they are trying to do ?
People just should spend more time elaborating on a dev account's post history
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: bter hacked and lost 50m nxt on: October 28, 2014, 01:30:50 PM
Maybe we should take a notice that a core currency by its nature cannot be democratic. If I can vote your money into my pocket, or change your account balance by lobbying others, who would ever trust that currency? Couldn't people with enough influence just vote to take the coins from the exchange later on too? If people don't like you for any reason, the majority just votes your money away (aka blacklisting).
Rollbacks should be a last ditch effort to save a currency with a critical protocol flaw only.
This is the second time PoS has proven to be a major liability in a theft. Pure PoS systems will keep having these problems once a thief gains a major share of the network. You end up putting the future of your currency in the hands of a known bad actor, and since there is no mining, they hold your currency at ransom from then on.
