441  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Block chains are too long? on: February 06, 2012, 10:26:50 PM
Its really annoying for new people downloading new blocks, there's so many :/ (I'm only halfway through myself, so I use flexcoin for my transactions)
When people start bitcoining in a few years, it will be way worse and may even deter them from using btc. Even later people will be downloading history from tens of years ago, it will take hundreds of hours. Maybe the bitcoin system could be modified so history after 1 year is deleted and replaced with what all the wallets have in, in the history so verification can still occur.

How does the site determine my reward?

The amount you get for a retweet is based on 1) your number of followers and 2) the sponsor’s budget. The sponsor decides how much to pay per 1,000 followers, so your earnings derive from that.

Thanks Cheesy
Funny how I couldn't find it..I'm probably just generally shit Tongue

445  Economy / Services / Looking for partner in hosting buisness on: February 06, 2012, 10:46:36 AM
Just to let you know, I think we will need 75btc to start, I don't have any money.  Basically, we will sell any server, and have a system with live bitcoin prices as the average mtgox selling price goes up and down.
Would like a partner mostly, because I would rather have someone to talk to about it.
Seeing as we would both contribute about 50 percent of the work, we should split it halfway, but make sure your money is paid off first.
Examples of what we would sell are minecraft servers, teamspeak servers, vps servers, the whole lot.
As for where the servers are from, we shall rent a dedibox, probably a higher tier.
I know, I know. I'm low in stars, I just signed up yesterday. But please trust me on this one, seeing as that person will be helping me at the start he can keep the money himself, all he has to do is prove he has it.

Edit:Any unused space will be used to mine litecoins, because they are optimised for cpu mining. Obviously litecoin mining won't be profitable, but I'll will make a small amount of money, and makes more money than empty space does

I havnt got any, but I'm starting to mine. What are your rates per block of ltc?
448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Litecoin and ARM CPUs: A crypto-currency you can mine on the $25 Raspberry Pi? on: February 06, 2012, 06:44:11 AM
Even better, you could have a large gpu attached to a raspberry pi, because it cuts down electricity costs, and no software has to be made, which costs.
Plus less electricity would be needed to cool, because it is small and exposed Smiley
449  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling tweets for btc on: February 05, 2012, 05:49:09 PM
Oh yeah...
Didn't realise that Tongue but then again, nobody said the tweets have to be about bitcoin...
Maybe I could say that if your tweet is about bitcoin you get 15 percent off!(To promote the bitcoin system, or is that too complicated?)
You sir, shall get two tweets when I start aswell Tongue

thanks... by the way, why in your opinion did 15000 people follow your account? what is their focus?

Around 10k know its btc ads, renamed it for the purpose at 4k and advertised for this purpose, ads end in a week or two. It isn't my personal one as such, so I'm happy to sell tweets Tongue

There is FeedZeBirds for Twitter advertising with Bitcoins, by the way. Great service, immediate payouts, easy to use.
Yes great service made in 15 min

Wow. Seeing as they have 50 ish followers and I have 15000 ish followers, whick is 300 times them, then according to that I should charge 3btc each. That's about 15-20 dollars depending on what mood mtgox is in. Wow.
Saying that, I would never charge more than 0.5 btc Tongue

slight difference is that they have 50 followers which specifically decided to follow a bitcoin-related advertising account.

i.e. they have quality (not saying yours aren't quality leads, but they probably wouldn't have the same level of 'bitcoin' focus)

That's the only set back I thought of :/
But what I thought it that if they have 3 stars or somthing, us saying they didn't pay us would blacken their name?
453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling tweets for btc on: February 05, 2012, 12:23:08 PM
Regarding your prices, I find them too low. I only have 1000 followers and still get paid more on FeedZeBirds (see below). You could easily set a price between 0.35-0.60BTC/tweet and sell like crazy, especially since the tweet does not get deleted.

There is FeedZeBirds for Twitter advertising with Bitcoins, by the way. Great service, immediate payouts, easy to use.

I have heard of them, yeah. I thought feedzebirds just paid per tweet, not depending on your followers. Thanks though Cheesy no idea what I'm gonna do it for, but expect 2 for free when I start Tongue
454  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin Bank? on: February 05, 2012, 12:17:33 PM
If I had rep I would actually do this.
Basically, you give a website 10 btc for example, then in 3 months you get paid back 10 percent more, that's at least 8 percent more than banks pay in a year!
To keep your money safe, I would take these precautions.
Only lend to people with 3 stars on the forum, or people I see as trustable.
Make every lending public, and the status of it(whether they ran away with the money, or they paid it.).
The first lending has a maximum term of one month and 5 btc.
The interest rate is 1 percent a week, so borrowing  10 btc for a month would make you pay 10.4btc back.
If anyone wants to start this with me, I have a lot of expertees in this area, despite my amount of posts XD I signed up today.
What are everyones views?
455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 50 BTC Per Block to 25 in 2012 !?!?!?!?! on: February 05, 2012, 12:02:44 PM
Bitcoin could stay the same and some miners will stop their rigs because it is not worth it anymore.

There may be miners stopping, but there will always be people starting, wanting to learn this whole new way to literally 'make' money; so the amount of miners will only ever change in the short term.
456  Other / Beginners & Help / Selling tweets for btc on: February 05, 2012, 11:58:47 AM
If I just so happened to have a 15k follower twitter account and offered you to control a tweet for bitcoin, would you pay? Technically it wouldn't be advertising because I'm selling the oppertunity to control a tweet not advertise one my twitter.
The tweet would stay there forever.
Does 0.1 btc for one or 0.25 btc for three tweets sound reasonable?
