441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: excavator by NiceHash - multi-algorithm NVIDIA & AMD GPU miner [1.3.7a] on: November 21, 2017, 12:54:03 PM
If I install excavator and ubuntu 16.04 on my 1070s will excavator still be able to control the clocks just wondering I'm not a linux guy but trying to learn it more than my second question is on my win 10 pro build do I just leave out the clock commands to let AF manage my cards I'm asking because I read somewhere that running excavator would disable msi AF or this is no longer the case

444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: November 19, 2017, 03:15:55 PM
if you have cheap EC then go with 1060 easy choice  if you want Max Hash per KWh  then go with 1070
Or he could get even higher hash per KWh with GTX 1080 or 1080 Ti. That is if he's not interested in mining Dagger and Neoscrypt (which are too slow with gddr5x). I'm getting way better H/W ratios out of 1080s than out of 1060s and 1070s.
I currently have Msi and pny 1070s and my Msi gaming x out performs the pny's so I just bought one Msi gaming 1060 to see what it can do before I buy more it seems that the Msi gaming cards are a little bit higher in price
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining v0019-1.4 on: November 19, 2017, 01:28:08 PM
Unfortuantely I got no reply in the rxoc thread so i try once more here: is it possible to use salfter nicehash script or wtm profit switcher with rxoc/amd cards?

It should, if they use same echo system
If not upload 3main, 1bash and Iamnotajeep from rxoc to google drive and send me the links, I will check and try to do a wtm auto switch for rxoc
I really want to run rxoc on my amd rigs and I know you guys are busy slamming out fantastic updates to nvoc but if this could be added would be much appreciated
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mkxminer: optimized Lyra2rev2 miner for AMD GPUs (Vertcoin, Monacoin, XVG) on: November 18, 2017, 01:51:48 PM
This miner mines for the developer as well under the covers.  That's why it only supports NiceHash.

What is the effective dev fee?  It doesn't say anywhere...
Agreed would be nice to know if the devfee is %2 or %10 I don't mind paying the fee if I know how much it is and it's reasonable
447  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [SOLD OUT!] FutureBit Moonlander 2 Official Pre-order Thread on: November 17, 2017, 09:25:47 PM
I unfortunately didn't get to pre-order any and I know it might be a little early but do have a idea when you'll be doing another batch
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus RX580 (TOP and OC) not recognized in Device Manager or by AtiFlash on: November 17, 2017, 08:43:36 PM
Hi,

I have a problem with Asus RX580 (TOP and OC) 8GB GPUs not showing up in Device Manager (Windows 10) and/or AtiFlash (-ai command), when attached to motherboard (AsRock H81 Pro BTC R2.0) via powered risers (ver006c, ver007s, ver008s). When I attach each card (TOP or OC) directly into PCI-E x16 slot, it shows up and works well. All risers are tested with PowerColor RX480 8GB on the same motherboard on each of x1 slots and everything works very well.

Have anyone had similar problems with these GPUs?

Thank you.
I had to switch to gen 2 in bios for all my GPUs to be seen in win 10 did you try this just google gen 2 setting for your motherboard if you cant find the setting
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU RIG FRAME on: November 17, 2017, 04:49:37 PM
I started with wooden frames but "graduated" into using garage shelves like this:

I added some thin, wood back supports (red lines) with holes or screws on the top so that I can quickly "hang" or remove the cards (blue) if needed.

The bottom supports are to keep the cards steady.

Mobo/PSU are on the slabs - you can even make them half slabs or fix them without the slabs for more airflow.

Easy to make, makes it very easy to disassemble/troubleshoot rigs and the airflow is great, you can put them in front of each other so that one big fan can blow through more of them. And you can easily decide how many cards you want to put on a shelf, how much space you want between cards.
That's a good idea I was looking at those shelves at home depot yesterday $50 not to bad and your idea for the supports are quick and easy

Ive been debating on getting a 1060 to compare rates to my 1070s I want to add some more cards and comparing the 1070s to my rx470/570s is crazy I'm always having a driver issue or something on my amd's but my 1070s have been running without any problems but at 400-450 a card it adds up quickly that's why I'm looking at 1060 and I believe I'll be getting a better deal going with the 1060 so my question is what cards are the best to go with thanks

WTH 3% FEE? Angry

look at this way....

They convert the coin on the fly for you.
Don't have to manage 99999 coin wallets on your own
Don't have to deal with the exchange market
Don't have to deal with the "fee" to transfer your coin to and from the market

I'm happy to pay the 3% to just get my money via paypal or one of the major coins without having to do anything!

That is really why I use it.

I sold 400.00 in BitCoin today.  It cost me about 6.00 to transfer it from my wallet to the exchange and 15.95 to sell it on the exchange.

It is usually cheaper to just cash it out straight to my paypal.

A few months ago it would cost a dollar to send 50.00 with bitcoin.  I couldn't send bitcoin 3 days ago because it was about 9.00 to do a transaction, 13.xx to send it priority.  That is simply crazy.  While the fees have dipped down a little, bitcoin is still expensive to send.  Then bitcoin is slow as dirt.  My last transaction took almost 3 days sending it with "normal" priority.  I could have snail mailed it faster.  Bitcoin has huge problems.  It is no longer a currency.  It is just a speculation for people that hope it goes up so they can make a few dollars.

If you are looking just to dump (which is why people use nicehash and winminer) compared to having to sell a coin on an exchange 3% isn't bad, and most of the time you come out ahead.

It's really said that BTC was hijacked and turned centralized its freaking ridiculous the cost to send BTC and the the time it takes

Just downloaded 0.0.13beta and looks good I'm mining monero and getting better rates than the original GG but I have one question how do I switch from the eu to us server on nicehash

455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP: The Digital Asset for Banks on: November 10, 2017, 07:53:19 PM
XRP was a huge pump and dump this summer. Some made a ton of money. Some cut their losses in time. Some are sitting with their bags full of expensive XRP Smiley

So do me a favor.  It's a little thought experiment.  Change all of your references in the above sentence to "Bitcoin" and pretend the year is 2015.  Bitcoin had just rose to $1,200 / Bitcoin in December 2014.  Now look at coinmarketcap history section for yourself and study the price movement.

My point is this: when you look at time frames, you've got to zoom out for the big picture.
Was two years too long to wait for a 600% return on a $1,200 investment?   Yes, those that bought at the top might have felt stupid.  But now they can feel stupid and rich at the same time.     Cool
Very well said I've also been looking at XRP lately and outside of Bitcoin if one crypto currency is to survive it'll be XRP
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v10.2 on: November 10, 2017, 07:38:33 PM
Hi. Help please, I'm from Venezuela.

I have a rig of 470, 460 cards.

I use the v10.2 and blockchain drivers in win 10. Value -h not defined.

I receive many share rejected. Nicehash pool. Europe, USA, Brazil in all I receive a lot of "share rejected"

Excuse my bad English.
It's not claymore I get rejected shares and pool interrupts on sgminer and GG it's nicehash

458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 12x 1080 TI Mining Rig Build (8300 sols) on: November 08, 2017, 02:51:30 PM
Thanks!

I would be all over that PSU if it was higher efficiency, seems PERFECT for this build lol

The PSU you use is a server psu, its powered up at all times, meaning your risers will have constant power. If two supplies power two different things, things can become out of sync.
If two different things are powered from one supply, things can NOT become out of sync.

I am no electrician therefthor I wish someone with higher knowledge can confirm this to make you more certain that it is indeed wrongly setup.
I also use the 2400w psu from parallelminer to power my cards on two miners one breakout board for one miner and the other for second I haven't had any issues my rigs been running for months with no down time or crashes when I was running psu's for my 290's I constantly burnt out plugs I'm also going to try out a pico on one and if all is good I'll run all my rigs off server psu's they are meant to run 24/7 the only issue for some people might be that the 2400w run off 220v so if you don't like or no how to play with power that can be a issue other than that I love these
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v10.2 on: November 08, 2017, 02:34:04 PM
To be able for 10.2 to run for a six card miner we need to set the virtual memory @40,000-50,000mb

Glad I found this I have a extra pi kicking around just a quick question I need the 5v 8 channel board and on the motherboard the pins get connected to the reset or power thanks
