441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DASH Collapsing Monero UP on: November 09, 2015, 10:50:18 AM
Hah,

this is funny, Evan admitting masternode-system sucks and is not anonymous while all his minions are defending it here on the forum...

And he is sure distribution of the coin is fine, because he asked... LOL

Here's the link for the Q&A btw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5sNx7SMTP8
good luck to the Dash-holders, you're gonna need it... Evan's answers on the question about overtaking more than half of the masternodes is exremely weak I think... He argues it's difficult to attack it like that because one would drive up the price too much, thus admitting an attack is possible, albeit difficult... but possible nonetheless... This would be a major concern to me as an investor...

best regards,

Lol, complaining about tot many monero-topics in a topic that complains about monero...

At first I thought you were mentally disabled, but you're just comical...
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dash a better alternative to Bitcoin? on: November 04, 2015, 04:46:48 PM
I vote for dash . it will shine eventually...just wait and see

hmmz, don't know, at the moment it looks a lot like rats jumping off a sinking ship... That's what you get with investors only interested in a fiat-profit but no belief in the underlying value of the technology... when the profit disappears, the investors disappear with it...

good luck to you though...

best regards

Now everyone is looking on Bitcoin. But shortly BTC will pull up some Alts. List is very short. It can be LTC or DASH.. eventually one more time DOGE but i think it will be some of first two coins.

Why Dash? I don't see any good reasons... Premined, tech only so so, Dev talking a Desperate pump few weeks ago (telling people he's buying while selling OTC)... So LTC Yeah, becuz of rep, why not, but Dash, wouldn't know why, certainly nog for reputation ...

imo holding a $ value is scant compensation while missing out on double gains.

If you see value in BTC terms that may be so. But the double gains you speak of are a short term phenomenon. Play the long game.

Sure but while btc rallies if its so obvious alts slump until the end of the rally why would you hold them when you can by two or three times more of the alt later, before these mythical 100x+ gains.

Dont forget the long game for most alts is having a high probability of failure.

I can see your point, but wouldn't dare to sell my alt-stash now to get into BTC... it's way too parabolic again, parabola always end in tears... If I buy BTC now, sure, it might double, but will I have the courage to sell at the top, or will I be to greedy? Will I wait till everybody wants to leave and the whole house collapses again to the USD300's...

Just like Bitcoin before, I'm in Monero for the long game, I can see the great underlying value, although it's still very speculative... But I won't part from my monero's now, to buy into a new parabolic BTC-bubble...

446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [DASH] Dash Price and Trade Discussion Thread on: October 31, 2015, 04:00:27 PM
I couldn't find DASH on tradingview.com... apparently it's listed there under "Darkcoin"? How comes? I thought it's name was Digital Cash...

anyway long term trand is obviously down (but try and find an altcoin that isn't...)

short term I tend to agree with the dead cat bounce scenario...

447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 31, 2015, 10:09:23 AM
nice, orders filled between 0.00125 and 0.00132...

let's break out of this falling wedge now, and bounce of the long term trendline:

448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin, Monero, Doge, Dash? What will rise first following a BTC bull-run? on: October 29, 2015, 06:09:07 PM
There's always users talking about Monero on and on, I just don't see what's so great about it, I've used their wallet and methods and trust me, no common person will ever use something like that.

Anonymity doesn't have value to me or the majority of the people, and Bitcoin is anonymous enough if you really need that.

nope, BTC is not anonymous enough, there's a public ledger of every transaction ever and with the necessary analysis-tools dots can be connected, identities can be revealed...

Allways funny when people say anonimity doesn't have value... Ever thought about that? What if someone or some instance was able to know everything you ever bought or sold, would you not care? I know I would...

I like to quote Snowden on that matter:
"Arguing that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don't care about free speech becaue you have nothing to say..."

If you can't buy things anonymously, if you can't own things anonymously... then say bye bye to privacy, I wouldn't like to live in that society...

On topic: I think first litecoin and doge, then dash and monero...

Edit: AmericanPegasus was way faster...
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DASH developers refusing to respond to allegations on: October 28, 2015, 03:43:24 PM

Please take a few minutes and read the original post. Hint: It's not about the instamine.

Ah, you branched out ? Congratulations - have a biscuit.

Yeah, there was already a bigass scamtree, now it has a bigass scambranch too, I suspect it might grow scamleaves and even have some scambabies too the way things are going... now please, explain to me cuz I'm obviously to retarded to understand: Why is Evan buying Dash on the open market while selling Dash Over The Counter?Huh?

Thanks in advance, oh enlightened wise one!

450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DASH developers refusing to respond to allegations on: October 28, 2015, 10:17:17 AM

The only people still proclaiming Dash is not a scam are people (heavily) invested in it...

Presumably, those are the very same people who have been 'scammed' LoL.

Blinded by greed indeed, but no worries, Evan is still buying... while selling OTC...

Lol...
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DASH developers refusing to respond to allegations on: October 27, 2015, 12:59:25 PM
The only people still proclaiming Dash is not a scam are people (heavily) invested in it... It shows what greed can do with the human species... Even when you show them an enormous amount of evidence, they will still deny it when it goes against their financial interests...

anywayz, no use wasting any more energy on this proven (how many times now?) scam...

452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 27, 2015, 10:39:09 AM
The line is still valid currently.

yes I am also watching this line and put my bids a little bit higher.

it's interesting that the volume on last bottom was kinda low, it increased after the bottom. Btc usually has high volume on bottom with a huge dump.

same here, would be very nice if we could jump out of the bullish falling wedge and bounce of the long term trendline at the same time:

Hi guys, how you doin'Huh

Next big dump ready, be prepared Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Just remember what will happen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FghQJazHSVg

Ok thanks man, ready to grab some more cheap coins! Thanks for dumping Grin

How do you know they are cheap? - as far as I can tell the coin is heading back to all time lows. If you buy now I would say ready to lose some money?

Yes, very cheap: great technology, very large community, great developments in the pipeline, ... As is often the case with new technology, price is a bad indicator of fundamentals... Just look at all the shit they are peddling in silicon valey, for millions of $$$ that is... I'm glad that monero isn't moonshooting, it's not time yet, and I'll even be more glad if it never moonshoots (and crashes afterwards) but rises steadily, slowly, not disruptively... I know for sure the great pumps and crashes did bitcoin no good, everyone started looking at it as a speculative investment without realizing what great things were under the hood...

I'm waiting for sub 0.0013 to double down on my stack... I doubt very much it will go lower than 0.0012...

best regards

454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 04, 2015, 01:20:35 PM
XMR and DASH going down, nice:) That's where led stupid fighting XMR vs DASH lol  Grin

I remember few weeks ago each time when I read new posts in Dash thread, I saw Icesomething or someone else from XMR, trolling in Dash thread about instamine:)
And I saw Dash trolls here in XMR haha. Now both going down. It's very funny Smiley

More fights both ways please.Smiley

You are very very right mate. XMR community shoot oneself in the foot. They should focus on GUI wallet instead of trolling DASH.

very shortsighted and superficial standpoint... but the fact that you would consider current price as an indicator of a cryptocurrency's health or merits says enough... there are indeed coins for your kind.

455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 23, 2015, 12:34:36 PM
Does USD have fungibility problems? CAD? EUR? JPY? RMB?

They have serial numbers on them. Theoretically you can say "this serial number is now worthless". But they are working currencies. People trust them.

I think bitcoin's fungibility is a much smaller issue than people in this thread are led to believe.

don't think so, when one uses bitcoins it always is 'registered' in the network, these bitcoins can be blaclisted from a distance the moment they're being used, even before they are used... not so with paper currency where use isn't automatically registered (aka, the serial number isn't automatically scanned and registered somewhere)...

456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Smooth VS VNL on: September 22, 2015, 08:26:56 PM
VNL   400 Githup commits
vs smooth   Huh?.

VNL  solves every major currency problem in crypto
vs smooth solves .... nothing

 TKO
VNL wins

+1

when it comes to VNL  vs smooth  VNL wins hands down. In fact there is more code written per week in VNL than Smooth has ever written.

whether or not John should post aknowledgement of Bitcoin in the wallet is between John, and those that hold the licensing of Bitcoin....
smooth has nothing to do with the licensing of Bitcoin, and his evidence should be directed towards the original coders of Bitcoin to have them review his allegations.

although I highly doubt that any of the original coders are going to come on here and make a stink about it, going public with who they are.
so the licensing is pretty much just smoke and mirrors at this point, you need a legal body to be able to chase someone around about licensing issues.

how much do you want this reposted?

Greeting, this evening john-connor showed up on the Bitcoin Core github with some rather aggressively ignorant minunderstandings of basic cryptographic consensus concepts: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/5634#issuecomment-69481908

Having no clue who he was I looked at his github account and googled a bit and found that he is the, seemingly pseudonymous, author of "Vanillacoin".

Vanillacoin was previously discussed on this forum, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=890388.0 but he locked the threads in order to shuffle the users (victims?) off to someplace out of the light of day-- never a good sign, (nor is his BCT newbie account, for that matter).  The "vanillacoin" software has no source code available, it is binaries only (very much not a good sign, and usually severe malware concern; and an ultimate form of centralization), there are source links but they go to a basically empty github repository. There is a whitepaper, which like the comments on github show some general software development background they show no real sign of sophisticated understanding around decenteralized systems for adversarial networks or cryptocurrencies.

I don't know anything more about it, but I figure sunlight tends to be a good disinfectant; and with the threads locked it probably wasn't fair of me to say nothing while I was privately thinking "hm, that all smells pretty fishy".  Of course, the guy was a bit rude to me and also wasted my time-- so feel free to factor that bias in however you like. I'm just reporting my impression as a regular community member. You now know what I know.

[I'm the last person to play altcoin-cops... I mostly avoid this stuff except for the rare cases that are technically interesting: The drama can sink unbounded time and usually, when it comes to the more misguided altcoin cryptography, the only sane policy seems to be "If you see something, say nothing and drink to forget": there is too much crazyness and risk of being attacked for being critical of someones latest scheme. But if it shows up in my face, I can't quite stomach saying nothing at all.]

Cheers,

Since you're only here for about 4 days and already know how much smooth and john coded, and already know everything about licensing I suppose you'll also know who gmaxwell is...

457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to start your very own shitcoin scam in just 6 easy steps! on: September 10, 2015, 02:41:17 PM
Well, at least I'm glad you're not denying it's a total scam... thanks for that.

just not sure how you can knowingly promote it, however good the tech or developer is...

You can agree or not with these developments, but calling this a "scam" is really not seeing the reality as it is.

You're avoiding the point here... once a scam, always a scam, can't get 'unscammed' by supposedly brilliant developments...

why do I even bother...

best regards

I remember days when no one took care of this coin it was cheap and noone wanted it. You all had chance to buy it or mine it.

And that's where the plethora of butt hurt mainly stems from.

Long time ago a few of us did our homework, someone not. I understand, that hurts.

Dude... It's bad enough that our current fiat-monetary-system is a total scam run by delusional psychopaths. Cryptocurrencies should symbolize a movement away from these unfair and scammy systems...

And now here are you guys, defending a cryptocurrency that was a total scam from the very beginning...  It's a shame you disgrace and try to game a whole community of freedom-loving individuals just for some personal financial gains... I hope for you karma ain't the bitch she's supposed to be.
