Let me see if I can help you guys figure a few things out :

A BOND is THIS : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bond_(finance)

A SHARE is THIS : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dividend

For those unable to follow links and in the simplest terms possible so that even the most retarded among you can follow along  :

A bond is a loan which pulls interest. It is a PROMISE to pay.
A share is a division of a company and pulls a share of the PROFITS usually called a DIVIDEND.

PICK one.

By those short definitions... what we have here does not comply to either.

BOND - we did not LOAN this money to LRM and what he is paying us is in no way, shape of form a payment of principle + interest.

SHARE - what we are receiving as DIVIDENDS are not actually SHARES of the profit of LRM... I would actually say in whole... LRM is probably still in the red and a profit share would not be paid until at least the first entire year was over. Even then, we would still probably be in the red but maybe not... regardless profits would probably be somewhere near what we have already been paid to date at that one year mark.

So that leaves us where...? Awaiting LR and LRM to redefine exactly what it is we hold because what we are receiving is actual WEEKLY EARNINGS of a Data Processing firm. What is the more likely, but I dare say LR would NEVER allow this to be, is that we are all PARTNERS to some extent and have been promised a weekly payout on earnings after cost deductions. What that means to everyone and LRMs lawyers is probably what is taking so long to define in the eyes of the law.

So stepped things up dual mining SHA and Scypt to 800Mhz, and I am getting 6.4GH/s and 340Mh/s avg per gridseed, they get mildly warm but nothing that i would be concerned about.
Anyone try dual mining under windows at 850Mhz yet, I dont want to push them too far when mining sha alongside scrypt as the sha asics can get fairly warm.

Mine hates it... if I clock Sha too high then the scrypt cores hashes red nonces...

750 Sha and 800 scrypt seems to be my max at ~6GH/s on tak.minebig.com and 300+ KH/s at scryptguild.

Starting to think scryptguild is causing some low hashrate cuz everyone else is getting better results at or above these clocks at other pools.

Would be nice to see the breakdown like we used to... don't see and legal reasons that stopped... we should get this EVERY payment.

Maybe LR/grnbrg should make a nice post to historically breakdown the payout history like LR used to for all the past weeks we do not have one from them directly.

So where can we see some info on what you have in the works MrTeal?

I got BTC burning away ready to get in on a new 28nm miner.

Is there something wrong with this .bat?

bfgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://us.clevermining.com:3333 -u x -p x -d gridseed -S gridseed:\\.\COM8 \\.\COM9 --set-device gridseed:clock=900

I was not aware that a bfg build had been compiled...

Well since they are illegal as you say their value cant be that high Wink

LOL funniest shit I have seen in the thread to date... I suppose because cocaine and heroin are illegal they also have very low value? Horrible comparison but see how silly you sound?

do the gridseeds need alot of babysitting? (running scrypt only at 850Mhz)
expecting my babies next week, YAY!

Sadly yes... unless you buy some reset power devices to cycle them regularly...

I have had mine lock up and require a USB reset (unplug the USB cable) several times in the week since I started with it. Its a firmware thing that needs to be addressed.

Bwa HaHa:

15.0" x 19.0" x 3.5" 2U rackmount 15" Depth.

I think there is room for a Pi as well if I cut the power cords a bit shorter.

I could fit at least 30 in a 3U and 20 in a 2U long case based on this catastrophe.

I would be concerned about air flow. how about an open front and  when rack mounting put one of the 3U fan kits in the front of the rack.

There is ZERO reason to be concerned about airflow in scrypt only mode unless your ambient is well above 90 F. The ~8W you burn up in scrypt only mode doesn't even bring these things to a point where you can't touch them while hashing... not even close.

Well my Pis were crashing more than the Tp Link, and then they trash the SD card some of the time, so remote reboot is risky.  They did run really fast on the Pi.  I tried running them on a beaglebone and it worked and was very stable, but the performance was lower for some reason.  I'll try on a linux PC next, so far my experience with these Gridseed units continues to be frustrating.

Have you tried this?

https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=9908.msg139447#msg139447

I don't know if it works since my Raspberry didn't seem to crash before, but others are reporting it fixes the issue.

That seems to have done the trick, my miners at home are now stable.  We will be procuring 8 Raspberry Pis for this group buy.  Hopefully we can recover the cost of the Pis by selling off the TP Link controllers.

In an effort to maybe increase total earnings since you have had to come out a bit more in cost to get these stable... I have found these gridseeds can easily run at 850 frequency and hit 383 KH/s without a fan and no worries of overheating as long as their is some ambient airflow. We seem to be running at about 300 kh/s now per device on average... as long as you have either the optmized cpuminer that runs ~8w per device or cgminer, you should be able to get those kinds of results easily.

That would be a jump to over 61 MH/s on average. A 27% increase just by changing to 850.

The latest (v0.9.1.2) wallet path: D:\wallet\takeicoin-qt.exe

The shortcut: D:\wallet\takeicoin-qt.exe -datadir=D:\wallet\data

Gives no message/warning whatsoever and still it saves in the default (%APPDATA%/TakeiCoin) folder..

Since I do not know what you have done already... have you created the D:\wallet\data folder beforehand and have you made sure what the folder privileges are? Not sure if maybe you are expecting it to create the folder for you and maybe the application has a trust issue so the drive will not allow the folder to be created so it defaults, or if you did make the folder and it does not like something about how its privileges are set so it can't use it and again defaults.

Testing myself right now with the new wallet.

Edit: did all this myself and have the same results as you... QT refuses to use the directory you point it to with the -datadir flag both in a shortcut and from a command prompt.
I already made the folder (/data) on forehand but it still refuses to use that directory and sticks to the default %APPDATA%/TakeiCoin directory.

But whenever I point it to a folder that doesn't exist (/data2) it gives me an error:

So it actually does something... Also tried renaming the wallet to something without punctuation: wallet.exe but the results remain the same.

Been having this issue since the very first day with this wallet..

EDIT:
Run as Admin from the same drive (C:/) as where %APPDATA%/TakeiCoin is located doesn't solve the issue either. Already gave Full permissions to both the wallet and data directories. Running out of options here..
Nobody that can answer this? Not even the old/new devs?

Sorry we have no clue why this would be and have had people not have any issues with this. If someone can replicate maybe we can figure it out.

I replicated it... same exact results.

Im not trying to take away from the OP, but I just wonder why there is such a wide variation in reported power consumption...
Even if you take the PF into account, it wouldn't cause a variation of a 2x unless im missing somthing here...

There are a handful of factors dictating other people's power readings...

1. If they are using a single unit on a USB right off their PC/laptop and measuring off the included power supply... they arent getting the full read as the board inside is powered by the USB port itself.
2. If they are measuring multiple units on a powered USB hub attached to the controller, then you are getting a slightly inflated rate based on all the extra hardware that is not the device itself.
3. If they are measuring this using the included power brick, that is going to be different than the power usage from a PSU using a molex to barrel jack connection.
4. If they are using a single unit, then that can still only give you an idea because some of these units have already shown they are faster/slower than others which means they pull more/less power than others.
5. Depending on your power source, you have the efficiency factor
6. Depending on what kind of USB hub you are using when measuring multiple devices can cause a variation in power rate based on what kind of power supply you have for the hub
7. Out of the box the miners have a script for running at 600 frequency which draws very little power... some people are increasing this to 850/900/more so it draws more power... these increases can vary in power draw based on how well the miner is put together and the 5 chips quality.

Just a handful or things that make everyone's readouts different for these things...
Thanks. Im looking for the power draw at the barrel plug on an individual miner device. I have several HP 1200W 12V@100A server PSU's and I was planning to use these to power the actual miners. My goal was to figure out roughly how many I could plan to wire to each PSU. If im off by a factor of 2, it could result in a melt-down, so I was hoping to pin down a more precise value. I didn't want to include the rpi or hub or any of that stuff in the calculation.
On another note, has anyone had failures attributed to overclocking? How "safe" are they to overclock?

To error on the side of caution take the max amps and x by 2. They overclock to 850 rather well. I have mine dual mining at 850 with no problems.  I personally use 12v 6a power supplies per unit saves the time and the trouble of the math and the cost about 11.00 a piece shipped.

Take the above with a grain of salt and reference #7.

Prime example... he may be getting great results clocked at SHA256d850/scrypt850 dual mining... but if I clock mine above SHA256d750/scrypt750, the cpuminer reports nothing but red nonce errors. SHA256d mines like a beast as you clock it up but it interferes with my scrypt core the higher it goes. My best results thus far are 6 GH/s SHA256d and 330 KH/s scrypt clocked evenly at 750/750. I can push to 383 KH/s solo at 850 but further it starts to yield less actual shares submitted. I have not yet attempted to OC the SHA256d engine to see its max... though it is listed some places it is capable of 11+ GH/s.

Just in case Lab Rat is unsure how bond holders feel about his actions to date.

Lets have a vote:

+1 if you believe Lab Rat is doing a good job
-1 if you believe Lab Rat has done a bad job

-1

If only I could live in your Black & White world...

PI/4 is my response... Zach COULD BE doing a BETTER job... he will receive a -1 if the final answer on how incoming hashrate is handled is not satisfactory.

I bought 300K Takeicoins. Pump is very soon.

waiting for

Just bought 150K more Smiley @121

I bought about the same amount yesterday Smiley Take a look at the cryptsy orderbook and how thin the sell side is...you could sneeze and double the price.

It is almost 2 BTC to 150.

thanks mate, why would I cut of the fan though?
does it stay cool enough from the natural airflow it generates?

anyway, it's more than enough, I was looking for permission  Wink to hook up 26 pieces (2 13port hubs on 1 RaspPI) on one PSU

Unplug the USB then plug it back in... run cgminer... should pick it up this time, then once you see accepted shares launch cpuminer and it should start as well...

I had issues with this where after starting and stopping, it required unplugging the USB before it would pick up again.

No problem.
Like I said, HASHRA.com is the site/company that is between the manufacturers and us, now.
I am sure they are completely open to quantity purchases at a substantial discount under retail.
They may not deal with 'group' buys though. Not now anyway. I really don't know.
As I (dimly) recall, their mass quantities were 200 - 1000 - 10,000 - etc.and the price didn't go below $120 each or something like that. Don't quote me on it.
Let me know what you find out. This could get interesting Wink
Wolfey2014

Excellent. Well, again, I'm not calling it a "group buy" if you will. I'm already prepared to buy approx 300 or so myself (at $160 each). Was just hoping to get an extra break if possible.

I'll let you know what I hear back then.

+40 for me...see if you can get the price down to $120 each  Grin

Don't need anything except for the miners themselves. Lets keep this simple and not deal with getting people power supplies, cables or any accessories.

Edit: I keep forgetting that the company I work for opened up a division in China a few years ago. We have frequent video conference calls and have already inquired if they could be a resource for sourcing product. If necessary we could have them deal directly with Gridseed on our behalf. They, of course, would require compensation for their time.

Same here possibly +60 for me at $160... more if together we can get a lower price for larger qty. Got $10K that could go to this possibly.

Great just what we need our own personal scambox just like btc-e.com, pump, dump..... to the moon, sky is falling etc....

Havent been wrong on most of my trades. See my posts and verify my authenticity.

And then watch TAK hit 100 and stay there? Nicely done!

Ok so I found a link to a youtube video and followed the video's instructions and I got my single red finned gridseed to  dual mine. So if you are like me and had the STM32 Virtual driver instead of the other one finish reading this and watch the video. Now the key is you have to remember the com assigned to the miner before you apply the usb driver with zadig as this is still secretly the com port to use in cpu miner
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjXu5BYjEHo&list=UUcqRbsp96-Z3BAu_oSG-TCA
I have my red gridseed now dual mining in windows gets 330kh/s scrypt and 6GH/s sha256. I also posted a picture of it dual mining alongside a couple of  antminer U1's. To do this you have to have the antminers unplugged, and when you run cgminer for the gridseed have hotplug set to 0 so it does not try to detect the antminers and crash. then after you gridseed is all running launch bfgminer for the antminers.

the COM port is never secret... you can still see it after zadig is installed...

Right click Computer and select Manage... choose device manager and expand your Universal Serial Bus devices to show the STM32... right click that and choose properties... you will see on the general tab a line labeled Location: Port_#00XX Hub_#000X where the Port_#00XX represents the COM port and the Hub_#000X represents which USB controller is being used. Example below is mine...

Location:       Port_#0001.Hub_#0003

cpuminer is on COM1 happily dual mining away.

Yea, BKM... I guess NONE of us actually had any "understanding" in the "investment" we made because it was not an actual investment. Now it is over. No understanding of "accounting" or "business" needed here.

If it is over for you then post your bonds for sale and move on...... Clearly Zach and many others see that it is not over and that change =/= death..... For some the choice is "Cake or Death" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZVjKlBCvhg - Personally I'll take Cake

But... we're all out of cake... death or death then shall we?
460  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: March 11, 2014, 04:28:26 PM
To clarify:  I want to understand the causality for this, the "fix" he dropped is the resultant.   Which is causing him to talk to lawyers to create another fix.  What I want to know is what the original cause of this situation is.

In the context of the current hashrate, 300mh/s/contract is very fair - it's just the way that additional hashrate can benefit existing bondholders than needs to be worked out. In my mind that's a very simple fix in the sense that a web hosting contract can "add data" and LRM contracts should be able to "add data processing".

Keep your panties pulled up and make sure you run to the loo if you need a wee... to avoid accidents.

And again your answer has nothing to do with question.  Are you just randomly answering things and quoting a comment from me?
Also, you are not LR, your answers are speculation, I'd like some facts.

As far as my panties are concerned, I'll mail a pair for you to fap to, if it stops your out of context replies and lack of meaningful contribution

Prepare for an almost endless stream of PMs with P.O. boxes LOL!
