441  Economy / Economics / The Rise of GPT AI. Crypto is at risk? on: February 20, 2023, 10:42:20 AM
Over the recent years, technology has improved leaps and bounds, and one notable development is the rise of GPT AI, an artificial intelligence that allows machine to interact with humans in a more natural and conversational way. We cannot ignore the fact that it lessens the amount of work needed in some areas in our economy and society, thanks to the advancements of machine learning, natural language processing and deep learning, as a result GPT AI has become a powerful tool for businesses. Although we could say it gives us benefit, we can't still be so sure with the risks involved that maybe can outweighed or may potentially ruin the economy.

"GPT AI has also been used to develop trading bots that can automatically execute trades based on pre-programmed rules and conditions. These bots can monitor the market 24/7 and make trades based on real-time data, which can lead to more profitable trades and reduced risk."

Based on that statement alone, we can conclude that there will be potential risks such as trading bots that could manipulate the market which could lead to significant losses.

How about you, what are your thoughts regarding this one?
442  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 20, 2023, 09:48:06 AM
If my account is the basis, then I should be already a hero member or a legendary member, right? I just recently came back after several years since I was also busy with my study, and yes, it's true that I have earned a decent amount before and most of those earnings went into a considerable good investment such as my computer which I was using for 5 years now and other needs. Now for the present time I could say I somehow regret it but as I've said it is a considerable good investment for me since I made use of the things I needed back then and should be grateful for that. Additionally, now what I'm really aiming is building for myself and investing while utilizing the resources that I have, because I know crypto or bitcoin is one the things that will greatly contribute me in the future. So, I do hope that I could read some of your suggestions, opinions and gain more knowledge which I literally skipped over the past few years.

Maybe not on your first question, your account was created way before the Merit system was introduced, if you were a Full or Senior Member on or before the 24th of January 2018, 500 merits should have been added to your account by default for every member who was already here and your merit is reading 253, I don't think you will be in Hero or Legendary at this point even your activity defined that on your profile.

As far as you used that bitcoin to get to where you are today, there shouldn't be any sort of regrets, it is a sad action done with a good purpose, this is not the time to feel awful, make use of that knowledge and buy back some bitcoin, you will enjoy the boldness of starting over in the future.
Well, I don't exactly know when was the last time I posted but as far as I can remember I was already a senior member when I returned with almost 600 activities. Maybe it is due to some threads that are cleansed before and TBH I wasn't really keen on ranking up that time coz I was mainly focused on maintaining my unburst post along with being busy at school. I was also actively participating with some campaigns before lead by yahoo.

Yeap I totally agree with you, it was a big lesson for me to learn not a regret coz I did it also for my own good. Thanks for giving me unbiased advise.
443  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 17, 2023, 06:27:01 AM
There is a huge difference between untouched savings and untouchable savings.

Rational people will have, if they can afford it (!), some savings they will not touch unless something big and bad happens. Does this means they'll die before spending all their money? Yes, and it's fine. Having a certain peace of mind has its costs.

Untouchable savings is imho stupidly risky. They have their purpose in case of people with certain addictions, but it's something that has to be treated with extreme attention. It's more advisable to allow other (trusted!) person/entity take care of those savings than lock them and make them untouchable, since if a health issue comes up, one may need that money, but may not be able to touch it.

This totally made sense to me. Indeed, untouchable savings is risky based on my own understanding of things. It is like a throw away treasure, not much different from the money you gambled anyway. I've seen lots of influencers claiming to be financial advisers on social media platforms telling the viewers to save and invest as much as possible, and mostly some of them wouldn't clarify the difference between these two. It is somehow related to the thread I created about a week ago that talks about saving too here. Lots of relevant posts there shared different opinions on saving, although both topics had different direction it also leads to which kind of investment, I should chose depending on my situation.

Based on what you've advised on allowing a trusted person to take care of that savings, it could also be considered as inheritance money, if it is intended to be untouched or reserved. But in the end, it's just a matter of how you spread your money, and which is which for your own or your family's benefit.
444  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 17, 2023, 05:23:54 AM
Being a student is so hard nowadays. I've been spending a lot for school requirements and different activities related to education. I'm stuck with this saying "SAVING IS WASTING", thinking that with the little amount of money I have, should I put it on an investment or should I just save it for my future expenses or emergencies. I'm also living in a country in which there are limited side hustles I could do to earn extra for investment, so I'm troubled somehow.

No troll intended my friend but I thought you should have some bitcoin considering your account has been registered since 2017!  Huh Saving is just like doing a grant fund for banking organizations, the money they run as a business is owned by people like me, and you, they make collective donations from rich and poor and set that up with interest rate that will give you nothing at the end of the year, the banks only favor those who have big shares, the poor only suffer at their hands by saving in their custody with poor services they may debit you at the end of the day. My little already known advice, buy and hold bitcoin when the price sinks at any given opportunity.
The longevity of an account doesn't justify the user's knowledge but I guess the user is stuck with the idea that education is the only thing to thrive in this world whereas it's all scams just like the fiat currency because most people who are Billionaires now are dropouts.
Having said that, the idea of saving fiat is a waste. Why would anyone save fiat currency when the government keeps printing more of it? It is better to invest in Bitcoin and Gold.

I totally feel what you are passing through, I understand you very well, To be frank I wouldn't advise you to save money while there are myriads of financial problems, I would advise you save when there is much. That is when you are less expenses spree. You can save the little you can for emergency purpose. But in a situation where you don't have much please avoid saving.
445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have always wanted to ask this about bitcoin on: February 17, 2023, 04:57:39 AM
I agree with most people around here that says stabilized price for BTCBitcoin is not reasonable, and people would probably ignore the existence all together. You should also know by now that one of the minor reasons why people use crypto is not only for faster transactions but also because it is decentralized which means the people decides the value or market not someone trying to take over and control it exactly as he wanted.

Although this may contradict since there are quiet a lot of whales in the market, small time traders like me can still participate and contribute to the market. As they are also saying that volatility is just a bonus factor. I do also agree that people buy and invest bitcoin to enjoy what it has to offer, and we couldn't argue with the fact that they are here to earn money same as I do. What's the most important fact is that what the possibilities it can offer for the future as an asset or investment. In this industry people would really invest when it has something that's what we called store value.
446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Helped my neighbor to purchase some Bitcoins on: February 14, 2023, 09:45:31 AM
Congratulations for introducing your friend to bitcoin. The only downside I see is that he has bought 100,000 satoshis on Binance, and withdrew it to a mobile wallet, so he had to pay 50,000 satoshis in fees to execute that transaction, right? That means 50% of the investment already gone to transaction's fees... Next time it would be a better idea if you simply avoided the exchange thing, selling bitcoin yourself directly to him through P2P transaction.

It means less fees, more convenience and holdings' maximization.
Starting an investment by having to pay a cost that is half the value of the investment must be said to be a bad start, which is why I don't really like it when many people keep trying to teach the closest people to start owning Bitcoin but forget to teach things basic like that, but whatever it is that's the right of Op and his friends but I hope Op doesn't repeat that because it's detrimental.
Teaching those closest to you to start saving in the form of Bitcoin will be very good if accompanied by sufficient knowledge so that the goal of helping the community will actually be achieved.
Or he could use other means such as alternative coins with lower transaction fees such as XRP to transfer from one wallet to another. I know that there are some wallets that doesn't support XRP, but I think there are several trusted wallets that offers such features. Again, this is only my opinion and I agree with both of you that it is a bad start losing half of his investments even if we say that it is spare cash ready for gamble.
447  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 08, 2023, 10:26:36 AM
You as a student always need to remember one thing: all your spending on education is an investment in your future. You should never postpone or cut back on your education. As far as extra income is concerned, this is what most students do. If you are talking about investing extra funds in Bitcoin, you should not refuse it. But first, you must understand the old and well-learned rule that you invest only what you don't mind losing.
In your case, it is probably worth waiting for better times.
Though I understand their point on saying saving is wasting if it's not used in a proper way, as of now as a person that is currently learning the other side of things I think I should study more about investments and stuffs. Even though I am already well aware of crypto as a prospect for investment I know I don't need to cut back for my education since it is also a form of investment.
448  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: February 08, 2023, 07:52:19 AM
Money is relative to the wealth of the individual. For most, 1M USD is a lifetime of money, if not several lifetimes in some places. However, for the whales and the big players, 1M USD is just change. It is difficult to understand for people who will struggle all their lives to make a living for their families, but there are people out there that will loose that amount and will not even blink.
You're right, mate. Only rich people can afford to spend enormous amounts of money, even for a single use of their money, for example, shopping.
shopping galore using a million bucks? well in very occasional chances? it really happens but not many can afford like this.

Quote
But for those who don't have much money, having 1M USD is still a dream and we will feel frustrated if we spend it only on gambling.
1 million is so much money actually mate, and that is something that only few can make in their entire life.

Quote
That kind of money can provide for our living needs for many years for people who live in countries where the cost of living is not high.
We can only learn from what others have obtained so that we can take what is good to apply to us and leave what is not good.
well, He already lose that amount and yes surely he is regretting that decision all His life.
That's just how gambling consequences could really be bad, in just a blink of an eye everything is already a part of a history or a lesson. I know he'd probably thinking right now about so many what if's scenarios but, in the end, what's done is done. Millionaires or not, it is still a huge gamble and I'm pretty sure he also regrets betting that amount although it had somewhat safe odd. This is why gambling is gambling.

451  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: MIR M: Vanguard & Vagabond bagong version ng MIR4 NFT game on: February 08, 2023, 04:55:46 AM

452  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: February 04, 2023, 02:25:57 PM
Personally I would prefer it that way and would still patiently stay that way as long as I can, you know why? Personally I prefer to have stable income that comes to me every month while conserving all my investments and other passive income for future purposes. Investment should be an investment while salary should remain as a spendable asset for me to sustain my day to day expenses. It's true that right now we should all be practical and chose the best way for us to earn money but it's also important for us to be wise and think about our health as a priority coz most of the time I noticed that several investors who are also employees suffers a lot about time management and ignoring their health, and in the end they spent a lot more than what they had saved. Usually it also comes with the price and it is also common that they are forced to choose which one they should prioritize. As much as possible I would really like to stay as an employee while having investments at the same time gaining experience and planning ahead for the next while I'm still young and productive.
453  Economy / Economics / Re: I have resolved into buying more and caring less on: February 04, 2023, 01:23:51 PM
To be honest the investors that gained a lot in terms of investing aren't those scalpers or those who trades daily but those who are buying despite the price. Also according/based on Graham's analysis from his channel( BTW he's a youtuber who likes to gives opinions to some expert's advice and reviews). According to his analysis and some investors advice, it is said that the ones who earns and gained the most buys whatever the market price is on a certain stock or investment. I forgot the term they used but that's what it generally implies and I think it is also a wise move to do, try or consider when it comes to investing.

455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption growing stronger everyday on: February 04, 2023, 10:12:34 AM
Unlike before that Bitcoin has been labeled as a scam or sometimes it's been called a scheme for those people who has bad intentions, in todays generation Bitcoin has been widely recognized by so many people and they already accepted the existence of crypto which is already a part of our economy although not all of them truly legalized it.

One of the major reasons why people knew about Bitcoin is through social media platforms and the rise of the tech industry in which people nowadays can easily access or afford mobile phones.
456  Economy / Economics / Re: Track every rich person take on: January 29, 2023, 05:18:35 AM
The thing that I notice mostly of some successful people is that, they have different way of thinking than average people. Although it's true that magnetization and being hopeful or postive also impacts some decisions in their lives, but in most cases they are the people who risks the most, lose or gain the most. They approach life differently and doesn't complicate things when it doesn't go their way, instead they find a way to solve or take action while calculating and analyzing things. I have also noticed that due to them being biggest risk takers they either win or lose but regardless it's all win on their end they always gain something out of anything. As you've said they are positive, and it makes sense to say that coz they wont risk something if they're not aiming for something, either a lesson or a blessing for them.
457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found long forgotten sats in my wallet but. on: January 29, 2023, 04:19:20 AM
Yes, you shouldn't have a problem, I've been a user of Coinomi for a long time ago, and AFAIK, even with which wallet address you will open default, legacy, or compatible it should appear on your balance there, any kind of address you have.

Even though you will send Bitcoin on Legacy and send Bitcoin in Compitable address, you will see your full balance.
The reason I leave that wallet a long time ago the time I knew that it was a close-source wallet which is not good IMO.  Still, open-source wallets which make me confident in storing my Bitcoin even if that's a hot wallet.
This has also been one of my problems with some other wallets. When I was still new to crypto and didn't know which is legitimate and not, I was exploring and trying different crypto wallets to find out, and after time went by, this has become a major issue for me. Glad to hear it could be resolved like this, i'll try transfering mine. Thanks a lot for this helpful guide.
458  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will lead the world's current market on: January 28, 2023, 12:53:03 PM
Well, I am no expert but for crypto or bitcoin to become a reserve currency, there will a series of tests and other factors to consider. According to what I had read before, there are things like economic stability of the certain country but in the case od crypto I think due to its volatility it'll be quiet a challenge, but it also doesn't mean the chances are zero. Again I am no expert I only knew about it from somewhere when I was browsing about the next reserve currency.
459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin always shames social media experts. on: January 28, 2023, 12:17:47 PM
To be true no one is really expert in this industry, but if you say who's having more experience then I guess there will be a lot on the list. All of us have seen couple of so called "experts" and then in the end most of them failed to predict how much or how long will it take for bitcoin to rise. In this market, it's not only a single person opinion, but instead all of us who are involve in this economy will have differing opinions.
460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My step to promote bitcoin on: January 28, 2023, 11:40:22 AM
OP, I can see the little you can done on spreading bitcoin awareness in your own way, which is very impressive. Next time you should be sure of what you are doing by having the knowledge of bitcoin so that you don't mislead the people.

Learning is what will improve you on bitcoin, you should read more threads in the forum and make research in google to ground you properly. Great work you did and don't get discouraged with criticism. Follow up with you have started.

I highly agree. Learning isn't only good for OP but also for him to inform the knowledge he learnt as a way also to promote crypto and bitcoin. Even if we say that we are currently in the computer age, there're still people who hasn't have any idea what crypto is, and most of them are thinking that it is a scam, that is why it is helpful for him to learn knowledge regarding crypto for him to educate and teach them what blockchain and crypto is and also their uses.
