i placed an order on 1-1-2014 for an X1 on minersource.net and after payment confirmation it said "## Delivery Date This is a PRE-ORDER, now on Round 2 Batch 1"

I just went and had a look a few min ago at my order and now it say "## Delivery Date This is a PRE-ORDER, now on Batch 2 Round 1"

WTF? Have I just been shafted?

I did a screen cap of the original back on 1-1-2014.

What's the significance of  Round 2 Batch 1  vs  Batch 2 Round 1?

Okay, same thing happened to me. Saying I am a little disappointed is an understatement. I would have considered differently had I know my orders were being placed into batch 2 when I ordered.

I could be wrong, but I think the site just lists the current description for the item. I'd ask the bobsag, but I think if you ordered before the cutoff of 1/2 you should be on round 1.

I agree with this.  I had noticed this on my orders as well, orders that were in early December.  They all have the same description of the current item in the store.  I didnt think much of it since that is what I thought was happening.

Not sure what you guys are looking at or where. I just checked my order at the old minersource and looks the same as it always did. No mention of delivery date, batch or round anywhere. That info only appeared on the order page when placing the order not on the finale invoice.

Why is all the ASIC info gone? links to datasheet or the page to buy the ASIC are gone.

You must be talking about the BA site? The data sheet is still there just click on "show all" in the news section. The option to buy Asics only is likely gone because there are none left to sell until the next batch or they just decided not to sell them in that way.

X-1 renders are up at BA site

4404  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: January 06, 2014, 05:27:18 PM
Really? I cannot see it even now, it just says 2000GH/s.

http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/prospero-x-3.html
"This would raise the speed up to 2560 Ghash/second but will increase the power dramatically which will not be supported by the supplied PSU.
 -2000 Ghash/second
 -Easy to use
 -Out of the box functionality
 -Low power per Gigahash
 -Compact design
 -Efficiency (including leakage): 0.6 W/Ghash/second
This is a PRE-ORDER (Batch 2), available for dispatch at end of April 2014"

It doesn't sound like their chips are going to be as efficient as they originally claimed.

It was there, but disappeared some time ago.

It's discussed in several places on the BA forum...

Hi BA.

Im wondering if you guys are planning on sending out some communication / update on the status.

Im order #12x and wondering what the feb deadline I was promised being pushed back to april will end up costing me money wise.. And what will you end up doing to compensate buyers?

Thanks.

There is an update on the BA site and re-posted here,go back a few pages and read. Delivery dates for orders placed in 2013 are the same as when ordered.

There are New X-3 photos on BA site, tried to post them here but not able.

I ordered with Minersource. And that's what it says on the orderpage:

## Delivery Date This is a PRE-ORDER, now on Batch 2 Round 1, all further orders are available...

If read the posts you will see it has been said MANY times that Batch 2 Round 1 is for orders being placed in 2014 Read the whole notice next time.

" This is a PRE-ORDER, now on Batch 2 Round 1, all further orders are available for dispatch April 30th 2014. All pre-orders are guaranteed to be protected against any price decrease.

ALL ORDERS FROM 1/2/14 ON ARE NOW BATCH 2 "

You are best to contact Bobsag3 directly, there may be a chance you could squeak into Batch1 but BA closed Batch 1(1st batch of Minion to be made) on Jan/3. All orders placed now will be Batch 2 shipping in May.

from BA website:

Hosting starts in May 2014

Wait. What?
God, I hope they don't mean it for existent pre-2014 orders.

Dear Black Arrow LTD, can we get some clarification here on cloud mining starting date please?

I.M.O.
If you ordered Cloud mining in 2013 and it's paid for,you will be fine. Remember the Minions used for "Rent" and those for building X-1/X-3 all come from the same "Batch" of chips.
When the delivery date changed to Mar/10,so did the "Rental" date. This new date would apply to those wanting to place an order now.
4411  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: January 03, 2014, 05:50:10 PM
There is no competition dude
What can be bought today will never make back in terms of BTC Roi, what can be bought tomorrow (mounts later) same shit

Quick and dirty calc may diff will be around 13,824,412,552
so even at $1.49/Ghash you are not breaking even
F...K

Thats a pretty outrageous prediction. How do you come up with that?

100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash
That means $149 per this one ASIC?!
I do not see any product of this price on their site..?!
How can this be possible and true?
Sorry for my misunderstanding and thanks for clarifying and... clearance!  Smiley

Nah that is 1.49 USD per 1 gigahash.
Actually now that i look, im not sure which product $1.49/gigahash pertains to.

There is an option at BA for OEMs to buy Minions only,to use for what ever they wish or build their own miners (http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/minion.html)
The old price was $149. 1 Minion is capable of 100 GH/s which equaled $1.49 per GH/S

The X-1 for example has 1 Minion =100GH/s ( given the recent update they may need to put in two underclocked to get to 100GH/s)

Black Arrow LTD:

Could we please have an engineering update on the progress of the Minion ASIC? Thank you for your time.

From BA:

" Dear Customers,

We have some updates:

The Minion:

We have our final specs for the Minion. Based on our library (we can only simulate the TT corner which is 0.85v @ 25C) and the power consumption is 0.6-0.65W/Ghash. We trust that underclocked and underpowered the Minion will achieve under 0.5W/ghash as promised.

This is not as good as our first simulations which were based only on Front End but this is where we need to stop. The time does not allow us to continue our effort towards seeking a lower power consumption.

We had to drop the frequency from 1.5Ghz to 1.0Ghz in order to achieve this efficiency. However we've increased the number of cores so the Minion will hash at the speed promised.

We had met all the timings for 1.5Ghz but the efficiency was 0.8W/Ghash and this is not something we could have accepted.

The minion driver:

We have also published the minion driver and we're happy to announce that it is steadily mining into cgminer. We've made the driver open source:

https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/blob/master/driver-minion.c

Batch 1 closed:

We have closed batch 1. All orders paid in 2014 will be shipped around 1st of May. "

I've finally ordered myself an X-1 from Minersource on the 26th December and paid via wire transfer on the 27th December. The money has left my account and bank has told me it should be with minersource now. I have pm'd bob and hope my status changes from balance due to complete very soon as I want to be in the first batch. Anyone else know how long it takes for payment confirmation to occur, I am from UK if it helps.

It could take several days depending on whether or not all info on wire is correct,Bobsag3 workload,holidays...ect  You will be in the Mar/10 delivery time frame. There is only 1 "batch" of Minion asics at this time, just different delivery dates depending on when orders are placed. earlier orders being Feb/24 shipping, orders after Dec/12 are Mar/10 shipping date.
4415  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: December 25, 2013, 11:12:34 PM
What about your cloud mining offering? When can we expect those to start working?
The website says "starting March 2014". It has said that for a while now, even back when the X1 and X3 were "end of February".
Are these cloud mining offerings part of the same queue as the X1 and X3: as in you go by the payment date and if it's an X1/3 you ship it, if its a cloud miner you mount and start it?
I've also seen a few people mention a "hosting option" for X1 and X3 which seems to be different than the cloud mining offering (because you get to own rather than rent the equipment) - this isn't described on the website, is it still available?
Thank you for your time.

Can anyone answer this?

I can answer the "hosting option" part, this is for the X-3 on the BA site there is a drop down menu when you place an order, you can choose 5 days free or the 4/6/12 month packages. Many have chosen the 5 days free, you get a tested and proven unit when it's shipped and it has likely made you $1000  more/less before being shipped. it would really suck to get a unit that had an issue of some sort that needed parts or returned for repair/replacement.
4416  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: December 25, 2013, 10:16:47 PM
Well, all i can say is thank god for ebay, i just found 2 of the x-3's with earlier order earlier order numbers that hopefully i can pick up for a lot less than full retail. what a great christmas present to myself.  Grin

Good luck with that Roll Eyes Keep in mind that the order number has little to do with delivery date,I could place an order today and get a number but not pay for 15 days then be put in the delivery list, others who order after me but paid sooner would be ahead of me on delivery but have higher numbers. You are betting that this is all legit, that his orders are in the Feb delivery batch and you will have a winning bid and they are already over the BA discount price. Even if this is all legit the X-3 must be going to the seller first then reshipped to you as there was no way he could know any other shipping address at the time he ordered,so you wouldn't get the units until sometime in Mar anyway. Seems like you would pay more and get them later than just going through the BA or US reseller.

Are you sure about that I ordered 14th but my money still haven't cleared. So if what you are saying is true is people who sent wires when it still said 24th feb would get on the march shipment and people who paid with bitcoins later would get on the early one.

I think (and hope) you are wrong

My post was more about the risk of buying a pre order off Ebay from a third party thinking you will get it quicker or better deal.  The point I was making about payments was if I order on the 10th but don't send a wire until the 17th,you order on the 11th send a wire on the 12th,when our orders are processed you will be ahead of me on the delivery list because you paid first regardless of order number. In reality it won't make much difference as all the orders will go out within a few days of each other anyway and whether or not an order opted for hosting .

I received my order confirmation (.pdf by email) yesterday!

besides this good news, could some Black Arrow official that lurks these boards answer my concerns regarding CE certification here:

Dear Bitcoinenthusiasts and Black Arrow representives,

Could you confirm that your Prosperos are CE certified (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CE_marking)?

I'm asking this as i'm from Eu and as certainly alot of EU ppl preordered BA miners.
However electronic stuff from abroad needs the silly CE certification to pass EU customs.
I once ordered some audiohardware in China and it got held at customs and returned to manufacturer due to the lack of CE certification.

If the devices lack that CE shiznit then you can expect at least a third (lets throw in some unbacked random number) of your EU customers never receiving their devices ;_;

If you didn't think/care about CE certification, could you kindly visit some local market and buy a batch of CE stickers and slap em on the devices b4 shipping?

Many thanks an a wonderful week!

PS. Declaring the miners as gifts and adding some bogus 10$ price receipt to the parcels would speedup things too ;3

Many thanks!

Yes,they are. The question is answered in the BA forums.

Release dates on BA have changed to March/10/14 No word if this is batch 2 or not,but seeing how tape out hasn't happen yet Undecided

Update from BA: "At this point, buyers are still in the first batch. The bump in date is when everyone who buys now can expect their units to be shipped."

4420  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: December 17, 2013, 04:31:32 PM
Any more word on the over clocking ability of these rigs? or what sort of upgrade will be needed?

pushing these to 2.5Th would make our returns that much greater!

this is from the BA site and they have also made it clear that PSU that comes with the unit will NOT support overclocking so you would need to replace that at least, cooling will also be an issue and if you start getting a large increase in rejected shares it maybe pointless.

"It has been designed to be:

Over-clocked with around 20%. Increasing the voltage might be required. If voltage is increased, the efficiency will drop.
Under-clocked to obtain better efficiency you can drop the voltage. If the voltage is dropped the clock frequency will have to be dropped resulting in slower hashing speeds."
