Pretty big news. Overstock.com has been around forever and is a big US company.

http://newsbtc.com/2013/12/19/overstock-com-begin-accepting-bitcoin-2nd-half-2014/

Edit: Ranked 137 http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/overstock.com

2nd half of 2014 but yeah, they're big.

No reserve active, both on margin buy and sell.

Bitfimex margin trading is the lifeblood of this whole market. When bitfinex decouples, everything stops.

yep, I never thought so until I saw it now. Imagine if some huge leverage trading platform with big fishes would arrive.

no, this has nothing to do with margin trading, but one big player moving against another.

why does it happen on Bitfinex only and not on Bitstamp now when they are down?

Which exchange does bitfinex use? I thought they're a bucketshop

their own and stamp

they're up but margin trading not possible.

Looks like a double top is forming.
I think we might go down from here on ...

Yup, i stopped hodling and went deep into fiat. No reason for market to have recovered this fast, we will go back to 500's.

You might be right, you might be wrong, who knows.

haha, how many times all of us went through this?  Grin

Looks to me, Bitstamp wouldn't have a third of it's traffic if it is not due to Bitfinex leveraged trading.

Bitfinex went down 10 minutes ago for server moving and Bitstamp is suddenly very quiet.

Did Bitfinex give an ETA on how long they were going to be down?

Half an hour.

from 380 to 680 in 1 day.

no cheap coins for rpietila.   Cheesy

Still fixated on rpietila I see....

Also, he probably bought whatever amount he wanted to buy.

are you sure?

why is bitstamp leading this rally? prices higher then gox means that there is a shortage of coins there.

good time now to move from gox.

no bitcoins nor litecoins to lend at bitfinex, guess the rally was for that reason. They thought people won't be able to short without coins to lend.

smart move.

buying now more coins will make the situation at bitstamp even worse. Cheesy

yeah, that's the risk of leveraged trading there.
4410  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 19, 2013, 03:49:32 PM
Stamp is not higher than gox, Stamp is at $659 and Gox is at $685

now., but half an hour ago there was attempt to fuck over people who are shorting on Bitfinex. They emptied lending btc offers, than started rally hoping people won't have anything to meet them with.

Clever idea.

Finex is going offline in one hour, price suddebly exploded there and on stamp. Preparing for dump just before it goes down?

Could it be people are trying to move their BTC out of the exchange before the downtime?

Don't think so, it was not market buying, only big walls pushing the price up.
4413  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 19, 2013, 03:18:42 PM
500 ask wall at 695 is probably what was targeted with those huge ask walls before.

wtf is going on on bitfinex?

OMG OMG , Bitfinex HACKED . FUD or NOT ?

it's not hacked, they are moving servers. But huge bid walls appeared 5 minutes before it happened and now big buys went on Bitstamp. Something is going on.

Shit, most of my stuff is on Bitfinex.
4418  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 19, 2013, 02:55:55 PM
it's down already. But WTF were those walls. Something is cooking up.

Be careful guys, this last run up is started by 1000 BTC bid wall on Bitfinex from all exchanges. This might be some leveraged long building bids for dump.
