Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

are you sure?

why is bitstamp leading this rally? prices higher then gox means that there is a shortage of coins there.

good time now to move from gox.

no bitcoins nor litecoins to lend at bitfinex, guess the rally was for that reason. They thought people won't be able to short without coins to lend.

Stamp is not higher than gox, Stamp is at $659 and Gox is at $685

now., but half an hour ago there was attempt to fuck over people who are shorting on Bitfinex. They emptied lending btc offers, than started rally hoping people won't have anything to meet them with.

Clever idea.

One thing my Bitcoin experiences have taught me is that reason cannot be used to foresee price movements..

It still works better than traditional TA though.  Smiley

yeah, that's the risk of leveraged trading there.

Mtgox is trying to stay in the front so hard but is not addressing the one and most important issue "withdrawals"
In real life, traders would avoid a market that lets them sell their wares but will not allow them to take their money out.

So, if people cannot take their old-fashioned currency out of MtGox, why are people using it?

SEPA withdrawals work just fine - so this is a US-problem guys.

Yup, i stopped hodling and went deep into fiat. No reason for market to have recovered this fast, we will go back to 500's.

Have you been using them regularly?

How long do they take?

The short squeeeeeeezzee. Can still go back down once the juice has been extracted. This is why leverage is so dangerous. Big players can manipulate the underlying asset.

I hate to give the bulls some ammunition, but this is getting scary again: http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/bond/10_year

Economists will begin freaking out and spamming blog posts about the end of the world when it hits 3%.

Inflation ahoy!

Looks to me, Bitstamp wouldn't have a third of it's traffic if it is not due to Bitfinex leveraged trading.

Bitfinex went down 10 minutes ago for server moving and Bitstamp is suddenly very quiet.

Did Bitfinex give an ETA on how long they were going to be down?
