The match is surprisingly difficult especially considering the fact that Manchester United won very easily in the first round. I hope for the remaining time Manchester United will be able to win - it would be a shame if, before the matches with the main competitors for the championship, Manchester United lost too many points and these would be meaningless matches in terms of fighting for gold. After ManU managed to get the draw, they tried to score for the next few minutes but later you have the feeling that Southampton is trying to score, which failed thanks to de Gea, and ManU is fine with the draw!! 2 points lost from ManU today unfortunately. Messi will certainly play during the match against Reims next week but it's very unlikely that he will play against Clermont in 3 weeks because his national team Argentina has several matches scheduled at the beginning of September and it's the same for Neymar and Brazil, they will meet each other BTW.
Didn't pay attention to Argentina 3 games next month, 3-5-10 September which means that Clermont game in 12th September will be unfeasible for him tho. Talking about Clermont, they managed to get a 3-3 draw vs Lyon! They are doing pretty well imo right now. Yes but to be honest I doubt Messi is the player who needs a lot of time to get used to a new squad. He has Neymar, no doubt that will work right from the start, and he knows how players like Mbappe work on the pitch. There is nothing worse for a brilliant player to have newbies surrounding you not understanding the quality of your passing and the eye for the free space. I am enjoying the match of Southampton vs Manchester United. It is a very competitive match. Both teams are playing well. However, Manchester United is trailing 1-0. The squad does not have main strikers Rashford and Cavani. Yet their team is stable enough. . Even if they are trailing 1-0, I don't think they will be defeated.
What supposed to be the most easiest/predictable match end up to be a surprise at least for this first half. ManU players were waiting for a foul and were hesitating, moving slowly and Southampton profited from this. It is a clear foul imo and the goal shouldn't be counted. I suppose ManU will wake up and might punish Southampton in the second half. Solskjaer has to make some changes imo to make the rythme faster. |

It's minute 88. The score is still the same, Bilbao 1 vs 1 Barcelona. I am not sure if Barcelona can win this match, look like to end in a draw. Athletic Bilbao isn't an easy club to be defeated, especially it is in their home. Braithwaite was just substituted by Demir, Piqué also left due to injury.
No Braithwaite's score today. I assume Barcelona fans feel unsatisfied today. Well, this indicates that a new Barcelona squad isn't competitive enough. They will miss Messi if they continue to experience the difficulties to score like today. When will Messi join the squad? Donnarumma and Navas, one is going to be a big loser this season or they share the games like one plays in the Champions league and the other guy the Ligue 1. Both will be unsatisfied with such a solution though.
Could also be that it will still take some time before Messi joins as he got some extra time off I believe. It's time to see him join, not so much fun to watch without him playing.
I am not aware of any specific information regarding when Messi will join the squad in the field but I suppose he might play a part of the next game vs Reims then I am pretty sure he will play vs Clermont and Lyon! City looked at some point that they could score 8 goals if they want but they stopped at 5 and I think it was enough for Norwich to realize that their offensive style won't work against big teams....I also thought that they learned the lesson after last season in EPL.

Liverpool continued its positive results, Brentford didn't score, Leeds seems to wake up after the humiliating defeat. But Bayern were more successful in their games in general. This makes the big difference in the end. Otherwise, we would watch a great competition for the title between these two teams before. But I feel like this season is different. I think we will see a much better Dortmund in the Bundesliga. They won't lose points in easy games so many times. As I told you, unfortunately Dortmund could surprise you in a way or another. For the second game in a row, Psg conceded two goals from not very strong teams. IMO, Lukaku's departure will have a very big effect for Inter Milan this season. The reason is, the Inter Milan squad this season lost several important players last season, besides the influence of the new Inter coach. It will be a tough start to the season for Inter. Indeed, vs genoa, records and statistics, Inter Milan dominated the results of the match. Despite winning the game, Inter may have had a bit of trouble, 0 - 1 is good enough for Inter on this game. There are two days left for the second week of the season. The new week will start with the Liverpool - Burnley game. Liverpool started the season with a huge victory against Norwich in an away game. I was happy to see that Virgil van Dijk bounced back and started to play. Now, their opponent are Burnley and I'm expecting Liverpool to simply destroy them also.
I don't think Liverpool will have hard moments against Burnley considering the performance of each team and especially the first round results. For Saturday's games I want to see if Brentford will continue its surprising start and if Leeds will recover from its huge defeat when facing Everton. |
