This may take in account orders paid with BTC only. But i'm sure that BitSyncom did many trades with real money too...
4422  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [CLOSED] Avalon ASIC chip distribution on: August 20, 2013, 04:14:34 PM
By the way, is it still possible to make ROI with these chips?

Otherwise, I´m really really fucked...

Are you unable to make your math alone? Otherwise don't spam this thread please.

The question has less to do with math and more to do with guessing how the difficulty will develop over the next few months.

I received my boards from batch #1 last week and I am not sure if I’ll get my investment back if the hashrate keeps scaling (almost) exponentially.

Ok not math but making a few scenarios with the difficulty isn't so hard. There are many bitcoin calculators available. Regarding your ROI you said you aren't sure that you will get your investment back but you didn't specify a time frame. You may not get it in 1-2 months but i'm sure that in 12 months you will be very happy with your choice Smiley Anyway as i said there are many other threads to talk about this but this isn't the one.

burnin, I will have to ask you how much will you be able refund from an pending order?

no sign of chips, I have to ask that. if the chips dont show up soon, I will have to cancel my orders.

Just chill. Read below:

story so far - 8/19

chips have arrived via other routes as previously announced, we are shipping them out at the rate of 40-50k on a daily basis at the moment, in addition to the ~150k or so that went out, another 40k was shipped today. There is multiple channel which the chips are arriving from various packaging facility to minimize downtime. Please bare this in mind: while we had backup/multiple packaging companies and various delivery routes, things still will go wrong. There is also testing that must be done, then they can split, packed and sent to the EZP coupled with their CN-22 and be on their way. We will provide more update as they come. In addition, the trade-in and refunds are being processed.

If this is true, many folks on this forum should start receiving chips in the next week or two.

So we are entering the a new era where BitSyncom won't post updates on the forum and only on his website. Avalon team is slowly morphing into BFL style of doing business. So sad.

Refunding the chip buy doesn't really work now since so many DIY groups bought parts to assemble so what are they going to do with those with a chip refund?
Half a price for chips, or even REFUND and SEND chips same time.
Chips are almost worthless now.

As mentioned, many people have now money tied on parts to make the full devices, as do we and that's not a small amount of cash for each 10k chip order when you start counting it up, not to mention all the work that went to it.

If I was running Bitsyncom and wanted to prove that there is at least some businessman still inside me and be able to show my face somewhere ever again without getting beaten up, I'd admit defeat with my head up, make sure all orders are shipped and make a partial refund for all orders.
.....

I'm sorry but your post must stop here and realize that BitSyncom doesn't need/deal with regular customers. He does business to business. That's why we who raised them up are the last one in the chips chain.

That would be good too, as we are a business and made the order from them as a business, not as a regular person.
Regardless - waiting like everyone else...

The same way TMSC doesn't care about small businesses BitSyncom doesn't care about us. I said it before and i will say it again: compare the number of chips sold here on the forum with the number of chips sold outside of the forum and then you will see why we don't matter.

Same amount of free Gen 2 chips!

Anyone find it strange that Yifu bother signing in with his bitsyncom account when he has no intention of posting?  Why not use a sock puppet account?

Trying to figure out if it is insulting or insensitive.  I think I am leaning towards insensitive.

I think i know why is he like that. Because the real action is going on in the real life where he is busy selling our chips to some other business contacts. This forum has provided with all the money that we had and from now on it's only "blah blah blah" for him. I bet he is very busy every day because he is signing contracts with shady people...
4430  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces 28nm 600GH/S blade for $4680 on: August 18, 2013, 01:40:57 AM
This is hilarious... I actually have some BFL hardware and even I think this means they are finished..  They are obviously trying to move payments to a medium that cant be refunded (bitcoin or wire xfer).  They are using a design which alot of us *know* cannot dissipate that much heat, and they are moving at a snail's pace with current orders.

Guys... Ive never said this before, but i believe they are on the virge of folding and taking anyone who preorders money with them..

Regarding power consumption, Radeon 6990 both consume more power than our card does, the very reason we took this design approach.

Regards,
Nasser

EDIT: Corrected '5970' and '5870' to 6990

Simple mistake for a Persian engineer to make late at night in France on a Saturday.

It's 3:00 AM Paris time, and I do enjoy reading threads usually.

Nasser

But you don't enjoy answering to my question: what were your power estimates for your current ASIC chip?
4431  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces 28nm 600GH/S blade for $4680 on: August 18, 2013, 12:53:55 AM

Yeah, but what about when the power doubles from your pre-fab estimates, like every other chip you've built?

Due to double node jump, the max power should be 0.77W/GH (3.1W/GH divided by 4). Based on everything we know from any chip industry (FPGA, CPU, GPU, etc), that should be the ceiling in power-consumption.

Nasser

4433  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Address with Avalon bulk chip payments now tops $8 million... on: August 17, 2013, 02:37:34 AM
But, if Bitsyncom still controls all those btc, how did they pay to produce the chips? I find it kind of doubtful that someone actually lent them millions of dollars.

Well exactly 1000 BTC are missing from the wallet which is roughly $1,000,000

Perhaps that was their total chip production costs and the rest is cream? - good business model  Grin

Maybe they paid their Gen 2 chip fab.
4434  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon is Alive! Chips shipped notice on: August 14, 2013, 12:16:24 PM

It could be a 10K order.  Most of the samples reported just showed up unannounced ... i.e. no tracking or notification.  The fact there was notification is noteworthy.

Edit:  That is old news.  Samples are being sent with notification now.

It could...but since OP didn't post any relevant info we can speculate all day long. I don't see how could it be a 10k order since zefir ordered batch 1 and 2 in the same day and he only received batch 1.

I state view that this is a useless topic!
4435  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon is Alive! Chips shipped notice on: August 14, 2013, 11:11:31 AM
Notice came in by email exactly one hour ago

Note added to your Avalon ASIC Store order from July 10, 2013

I can barely keep my excitement contained. Now if only Microchip would ship out those damned SS PICs on time

samples incoming or your 10k order?

I bet it's samples and OP is creating useless topics. There are already several people who are receiving samples. No words of the 10k chip batches yet...
4436  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 13, 2013, 09:31:53 PM
Unfortunately, Avalon chips are so inefficient, that the delay means negative ROI by the time you get your boards built and mining. Even if Yufi decided to refund everyone and give you the chips for free!

Actually if they double the chips number or give the same amount of free Gen 2 chips thing would work out very well for everyone and it will be a big FU to BFL Smiley But i'm only dreaming...
4437  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: August 13, 2013, 09:35:19 AM

The extra capacity will be chips only, to be used with a HashFast or third party chassis.

Let's see what users will do with only the chips...
4438  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 【Avalon Factory】made by ccbmc!50PCS 110G 4# avalon mining Has shipped! on: August 12, 2013, 08:18:00 PM

If you want, I can always provide a lot of pictures!
In early July we pre-sold 50 units 730 4 # avalon mining machine!
Yesterday just completed delivery!
We own factories, accepted avalon chips processing business from around the world!
These photos are shot using a mobile phone, more ugly, so do not want to post!

From where do you have Avalon chips? When did you bought them?
4439  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: NEW ASIC 10 Giga hash / sec Bitcoin miner - anybody interested ? on: August 12, 2013, 08:15:07 PM
Hi, seems like it is going to be quite difficult to secure needed chips.
But the good news is the hashrate should be higher than 10 G.
Toying with rPI now, slowly progressing.

What chips are you using?
